"Fitz! Fitz!" Avery burst into the guest room just as i was about to go get her from my parents house.
"Hi sweetheart" i laughed as she clutched my shoulders as i lifted her up. She was dressed in black jeans and her pink winter boots with her curls in a ponytail.
"I was called into a meeting and your mom had to go somewhere with Teddy so i hope you don't mind?" Dad stood in the living room
"Of course not dad thank you"
"Bye Avery"
"Bye Poppy" she ran over and kissed him on the lips before running back over to me. We waited until he closed the door before deciding to tell Liv we were leaving. I opened the door quietly and smiled at the sight of Liv sprawled out onto her bed. Avery was in her room getting her Lyssy doll changed.
"Livvie?" I rubbed her back
"What?" She groaned clutching her head "jesus, why did you guys let me drink that much"
"Let you?" I laughed "we are leaving now, we should be back by 6 with dinner so don't cook"
"Have fun" she mumbled as she started to sit up. Her hair was messy and face filled with tiredness but she was still the prettiest woman.
"Your breakfast is in the microwave, tylenol and orange juice" i pointed to her bedside table as she put her glasses on.
"I might just keep you around Fitzgerald" she smiled and kissed my cheek "thank you"
"Anytime Livvie" I closed her bedroom door and got Avery out the door.
"Are we at my surprise yet?" Avery asked playing with Lyssy while i returned some emails.
"Yes Ms. Pope" Tom smiled and opened the SUV door as he led us into the arena.
"Mommy told me you liked disney-"
"DISNEY ICE! DISNEY ICE!"
"Disney on Ice" i correctly softly as she stared at the poster while we escorted to our seats. Avery sat in her own seat for a while but eventually climbed onto my lap as the show started. I watched as her whole face was lit up for the next two hours, keeping an almost four year old interested was hard. She sang along to the music and clapped each time a song ended. After the show we went backstage and she took pictures with all of her favourite characters.
"Did you have fun Aves?"
"Yes!" She smiled "thank you!"
I nodded and waited in the SUV as Tom went inside the restaurant to pick up our order
LIV'S POV
"I'm coming!" I called as i walked down the hallway towards the knock on the door. It was 5pm and Fitz and Avery weren't back yet so i had started cleaning the apartment and Avery's room. I had just gotten out of the shower and dressed even though i wasn't going anywhere.
"Quinny, hi" i smiled letting her into the apartment.
"Where's Avery?"
"She's out.. With Fitz"
She tensed and looked over at me
"You must really trust him then enough to take your daughter for the day"
"He loves Avery, and she loves him"
"Liv what are you doing?"
"I'm cleaning before my three year old comes home and drags snow all over my floors"
"I mean with Fitz, who are you right now? He hurt you!" She yelled
"Quinn-"
"I had to force you to eat don't you remember that? all you wanted to do was stay home. He fucked you over literally and then left. He left you for a woman. What happened to Mellie? Did you ask?"
"Stop!" I sighed sitting on the couch "i don't want to be sad anymore Quinn, i missed him so much. And i'd rather swallow my pride and be happy then not have him in my life and if you can't accept that i understand but it's my choice Quinn"
"I don't want to see you get hurt again"
"I know and i love you for that but it's my choice and i... I love him Quinn.. After all the hurt and the years. I still love him"
She looked over at me and sighed "doesn't mean i'm going to like him"
"Okay" i laughed hugging her. Someone knocked on the door as she stood to get going. I opened the door and was met by Avery wearing a full out belle dress with a tiara.
"We went to Disney Ice!" She screeched reaching for me out of Fitz's arms as he juggled her and brown paper bags.
"Tom would you like to come in for some dinner?"
"Please join us Tom" Fitz agreed
"That's alright, another agent will be setting up post in a few moments"
"Okay, see you on your next visit then"
"Next weekend ma'am" he nodded and i watched Fitz smirk and turn towards the kitchen. Avery had run over to say hello to Quinn who was getting her boots on.
"Hey Quinn" Fitz offered
"Hello" Quinn nodded "I'll see you tomorrow Liv" she waved and was out the door before i could ask her to stay for dinner.
"What'd you get?"
"Chinese"
"Did you get-"
"Shanghai noodles and spring rolls"
"What'd you get baby?" I asked Avery as she climbed onto her chair
"Rice and veggies and noodles, no meat right fitz?"
"Right" he nodded and smiled towards her.
"So, tell me about disney on ice!"
Avery's eyes lit up as she told me every character she saw. After dinner Fitz and her showed me pictures. Avery looked so happy and carefree as she posed with Belle.
"Alright miss thang, time for a bath then you can watch a movie before bed"
"But-"
"No buts, you've got school tomorrow"
"Okay mommy" she sighed as i helped her into the bath. After a few minuets she wanted to get out to go play with Fitz. I laughed at the two, they were quite a pair, always wanting to see each other.
"Time for bed Aves" i said at 730
"Okay, i see you tomorrow Fitz!"
"Oh, Aves i'm going home remember back to California? I have work tomorrow"
Avery began to pout her lips and walked over to me.
"Fitz leaving?"
"Yeah baby he lives on the west coast"
"But why! Why can't he stay?"
"He has work Aves, go say good night you don't want to go to bed sad do you?"
"No mommy"
She waddled back over to Fitz who lifted her up onto his lap and hugged her. She put her hands around his neck and sniffled quietly
"I don't want you to go"
"I know sweetheart but i'll be back in a few days"
"You will?"
"Yes" he smiled as she gave him her slanted charming grin that was almost identical to his.
"Okay, bye"
"Bye sweetheart" she kissed him on the lips and ran back towards me as i lifted her onto my hip.
"I'm very proud of you for being a big girl and using your words"
"really?"
"Yep"
She turned red a little and climbed into my bed.
"Say your prayers"
"Can you helps me? Sometimes i forget all the words"
"That's okay, you're still little" i smiled and bent down with her watching as she clutched her hands together and shut her eyes.
"Now i lay me down to sleep.."
I watched as she followed me until the end "thank you for mommy, Fitz, family, friends and the day i had. Amen"
"Amen" i smiled and helped her into bed, turning on treehouse so she could fall asleep.
"Night baby"
"Night mommy"
I turned to walk out of the room and was met by Fitz's chest.
"Fitz!" I hissed "you scared me"
"Sorry" he smiled as i closed the door "she mentions me in her prayers"
"She loves you, of course she does" i went back out to the kitchen. "When's your flight?"
"I should actually get going"
"Oh" i tried covering up my disappointment "i'll be back, i promise"
"Okay"
He crossed the room and hugged me surprisingly "i promise"
"Go before California notices you are gone" he smiled and kissed my cheek gathering his bags and suddenly i felt like Avery probably did every time i left her. I slowly followed him to the door
"I'll call you tomorrow?"
"Text me when you land?"
"You worried" he smirked
"No" i waved it off
"I'll text you as soon as i land"
"Goodbye Governor Grant" i smiled and let him leave the apartment.
It was almost 2am when i got a text that he had landed
'Glad everything went okay!' I texted back
'You waited up for me, how sweet'
'Don't call me tomorrow jerk' I teased
'Fine :), night Livvie'
