Mikasa took off on her broom.
"Come on!" yelled Jean. "We can't let her go alone!" He raised his wand to the sky and followed her.
"Everyone who doesn't come is a coward!" called Sasha as she followed.
Connie, Annie, Reiner, and Berthold followed too.
Armin got up and flew after them.
The others let out some sort of war cry and took off.
"Mikasa's such a badass; she's going so fast," commented Connie. Mikasa was flying in front, at a higher speed than anyone else, killing any giant in their path.
"She's going to ruin her broom like that," said Armin. "That model just isn't made to go that fast." A few seconds after he finished, Mikasa's broom dropped as if giving up. She tumbled off and rolled off a nearby roof.
"I'm going after her!" called Armin, changing his direction.
"I'm going too!" yelled Connie. Jean followed them. "Jean! You have to stay here and lead the others! They need you!"
"But…" Jean started. Connie was right. He had to lead them to rescue the children in Honeyduke's.
A giant picked up Tom, a Ravenclaw in Jean's year.
"We have to save him!" cried another student. Several students flew towards the giant, only to be killed by other advancing giants.
Jean could only watch in horror.
"Jean! We have to go now while they're distracted!" Marco was trying to get his attention.
Jean blinked and realized Marco was right. "Let's go! Before they finished eating them and eat us too!" He took off and lead the way to Honeyduke's, tucking his head down as he smashed through a window. Others followed him in.
Behind the counter, the shopkeeper cowered. Jean picked him up by his robes.
"How can you cower down there?! There are children in danger in here!" Jean punched the shopkeeper in the face before Marco could stop him.
"There – there are giants downstairs. That's where the children are. There are too many. No way I could fight them off."
Just then, a giant's face appeared in the previously bare wall on the side of the shop. Another face appeared next to it. They grinned ominously. Suddenly, a giant's fist punched the first two giants out of the way. What was going on?
