"They know we've left Peru. They know we're in Mexico. They don't know where exactly but they are pulling out all the stops. We've got a freaking man hunt on our asses now," Jesse tried to explain.
"Shit," was all Dom said as he looked at the screen.
"And they aren't just after Dom anymore," Brian chimed in. "They're after all of us."
Mia and I exchanged glances. What did this mean? If they could tell so easily that we left Peru than they could easily track us no matter where we went.
"Okay, this shit just went to a whole different level," Dom stated.
"What are we gonna do Dom?" Vince asked, standing up and walking over to the group.
"We're gonna take down Layva," Dom said seriously.
"Take him down. Just like that?" Leon asked.
"We take him down, we take down the money. We take down the money and the shipments, no one gets paid. No one gets paid, no one is gonna work. And if no one works, we get Tran and all the men off our back," he responded stoically.
"And how do you suggest we do that?" Leon asked hesitantly.
"First, we're gonna need some cars," Dom said, a smile beginning to form on his face.
"Well you know we can do that," Brian added with excitement.
"And Jesse, Leon, I need you to find out more specs. Find out exactly where he is. We need to know the layout of the building and the schedule on the shipments. We do this during the loading. Less people standing around with nothing to do but look out for people like us," he resigned.
"Easy," Jesse said.
"Vince, we're gonna need a whole lot more artillery," Dom said to him.
"On it," Vince replied.
"And what about me?" Letty perked up.
"What about you?" Dom asked sternly.
"What am I supposed to do?"
"Stay here with Mia and be safe. Maybe signal us on the computer if shit looks bad," he replied.
"Stay here?"
"Yeah," he said plainly. "Stay here."
"The hell I will," I replied indignantly.
He shot me a look.
"What?" I asked still floored by his suggestion. "Hell no I'm not just going to sit by and watch everything go down from a computer."
"Well you're not going with us, so you pick your poison," he replied.
"Why the fuck not?" I retorted.
"Are you seriously asking me that question?" he looked at her, eyebrows raised.
"Dom, come on man, you can't leave me hanging in the sidelines. You know I'm just not made that way," I retorted.
He just looked away.
"Well, I'm going whether you like it or not. I'd like to go with the team. But if you're too fucking stubborn to make that happen, I'm going in on my own."
"You're what?" he couldn't believe.
"You heard me."
He smiled in disbelief. I know he thought this whole conversation was completely ridiculous. I knew he was thinking that there was no way he was going to let his pregnant girlfriend go on a heist to destroy the cartel mover that kept stalking him and his team. And if so, he was sadly mistaken.
"I don't know why you're smiling unless it's 'cus you're happy."
"Let, you're pregnant," he said almost as if this were reason enough.
"Uh huh, and?" I replied, as if it weren't reason enough.
"And….so you can't do this. You could get hurt," he responded.
"You could get hurt," I pointed out.
"Yeah, but if I get hurt then it's just me. If you get hurt, it's not just you."
"Listen, I'm not going to get hurt. We're going to plan this thing out. We're going to synchronize this shit like it was a map on a fucking cereal box."
"Letty, I have to agree with Dom on this one," Mia entered into the conversation.
"You have got to be f-ing kidding me," I said looking between the two.
"Letty, as much as you want it, you can't do that kind of stuff right now."
"You know what," I said standing up harshly. "I'm going. You two can work out the details of this shit. But I am the same Letty I was. Ride or die."
Okay, so I know this is a really short chapter. But I had to get things moving again. I really want to finish this story. So if anybody out there is actually still reading it, let me know! I'm sorry it's been about a million years since I've updated
