AN: Damn, I took a long break. Sorry about that folks, I am feeling much better now though. This chapter shows the failed parts of Weiss' recovery (after a short opening.) There's a reason Weiss isn't the leader: she makes bad calls, even about her own health. I hope to update tomorrow as well. I'll fix the errors but for now, let's see how I did... -CakeLegends
The Lonesome Road - Chapter 37
"So what are the sleeping arrangements?"
Blake's question sat for a moment in the empty air. Yang and Ruby raised their eyebrows. Weiss shifted her shoulders in discomfort.
Penny raised her hand slightly. "I can just charge in the corner overnight."
Team Rwby nodded at the suggestion.
Yang spoke up, awkwardly rubbed the back of her neck. "I guess Neo can have my old bunk-"
"You guys don't want her in your bed anymore?" Ruby laughed sarcastically.
"I don't find it as funny as you do." Yang frowned. "Friend or not, you can't just break into a person's bed! Especially when you've killed people for a living." The blonde turned and raised a threatening finger to the acrobat. "That was terrifying."
Neo shamefully looked to her feet.
"It was completely uncalled for." Yang finalized, turning back to the group once again.
"I'm sorry."
Yang's head whipped back at the hoarse voice. Every eye locked on the mute. The Blonde's finger rose once again in question. "Did she just talk?"
Neo nodded and smirked. 'Please don't make me do it again.'
Yang's mouth promptly closed.
"Hey, Rose."
Ruby's eyes turned to the Heiress. Weiss sat on their bed, as silent as ever until this very moment. The Heiress patted the spot next to her.
Ruby smiled and took her place at her partner's side. "You're looking better."
Weiss looked over her partner with concern. "...I wish I could say the same for you."
Ruby's eyes had noticeable dark spots. Her upbeat attitude seemed far more strained.
She had another rough night.
"Are you alright, dolt?" Weiss questioned. "You look like you haven't slept in days..."
Ruby returned a dazed smile. "Yeah...don't worry so much."
Weiss opened her mouth to speak. Her mouth slammed shut immediately. A rush of anxiety ran through her. She gritted her teeth and forced the question out.
"I want us to try again." Weiss suggested nervously. "I-I need to be reminded it's not a bad thing."
Weiss felt guiltier than ever. She'd felt the caped-girl unconsciously hold her in the night, only to recoil at her mistake. She'd heard the things Ruby whispered in her sleep. Her girlfriend had now undergone two unplanned dry spells.
"I'm still pretty shaken up to be honest. I'm going to be too scared to do anything." The Heiress admitted. "But at the same time...I won't overcome this if I don't try again."
Ruby squinted in suspicion. "I don't think I like where this is going."
"I want you to take the lead." Weiss instructed. She placed a hand on her partner's shoulder. "I want you to make me."
Ruby lightly batted her hand away. "I'm not doing that to you."
Weiss' back straightened. For a brief moment, her eyes flashed with her old confidence. "I'm not asking you. I'm telling you to."
Ruby sighed.
"What should I do if you tell me to stop?"
"Ignore it. I want this." Weiss commanded briefly. "You have my consent to."
Ruby bit her lip. Weiss wanted this...but was this still wrong?
The caped-girl came to a mental agreement: she would stop if Weiss resisted. Even at the slightest push. Then they could stop. Then Weiss would see she still had her old backbone.
"I-I'll do it." Ruby answered shakily. "But you have to promise you want me to do this."
Weiss nodded hard.
"...Alright."
The caped-girl briefly glanced to the door. She knew their roommates' daily schedules pretty well by now. Neo trusted Ruby. They would be alone for a good while.
With building concern, the Reaper leaned in.
Ruby's lips met her partner's again for the first time in a while. The Heiress kissed her back cautiously.
Weiss lips slowly found a comfortable rhythm with her partner's. Her heart rate calmed down. This was still manageable.
She felt her partner's hands begin to roam.
Weiss felt Ruby's lips brush against her neck. Weiss flinched. Her fears began to overwhelm her.
"S-stop please..." Weiss' frightened voice interrupted. "I can't do this-"
"It's okay..." Ruby reassured between breaths. She brought their lips back together.
The caped-girl began to shift forward, laying Weiss down on her back. The Heiress' heart raced. A rush of fear ran through her gut. She still had nightmares about the last time she was in this position.
Weiss broke the kiss. "Ruby...please stop..."
Ruby's mind brushed the words off as noise. Weiss couldn't have meant it. The Heiress was a bit stronger than her. The Heiress always played rough. If Weiss didn't want this, she would have snapped at her. She would have shoved her off.
Ruby wanted her old girlfriend back.
She missed the real Weiss more than anything. The one that could snuggle a puppy one minute and call her an idiot in the next.
Where was that Weiss? Where was the real Weiss?
This Weiss hadn't given even the slightest push. Clearly she didn't mean it.
Ruby's hand quickly found its way to her partner's area. Her fingers found a slow rhythm. Weiss let out a small moan. It sounded more like a short, pained cry.
Weiss' weak voice begged once again. "I-I'm scared..."
"Then fight back, Weiss." Ruby begged mentally. "Even if it's just a little. Show me you're serious if you really are. You always used to."
Weiss' breathing became stuttered: she was whimpering.
But she still wasn't resisting.
"It's okay..." Ruby consoled briefly. "It's me...you're fine..."
Ruby began to slowly roll her hips. She released a small groan as some pressure was satisfied. The effects of the dry-spell were still clear: she could feel how far along they both were already. She felt relieved: this wouldn't take long.
Weiss' eyes widened in fear as she felt her lover shift against her. She began to panic.
"It's okay...I'm here. I love you." Ruby consoled once more in a pant. Ruby knew Weiss wanted to be herself. She would help Weiss pass this hurdle.
Even if it hurt them.
"Just look at me if you're scared...Just look at me."
The Heiress' fearful blue eyes met Ruby's starved silvers. Her heart sped up even more.
Every attractive detail of Ruby built up a familiar feeling in Weiss. Her silver eyes. Her slight frame. Her small nose. Her sense of humor. Her cute voice. Her warm laugh.
Ruby's blurring vision refocused as Weiss let out a suppressed moan.
Weiss' eyes were rolling back: she was having an orgasm.
Ruby's guilty conscience was temporarily relieved. She briefly smiled at how hard Weiss gripped the sheets. Weiss was enjoying this after all. She was finding pleasure in this.
Weiss' stomach turned in disgust the second her unexpected finish came to its end.
The Heiress' head turned to the side. Her cheek into the sheets in guilt. She couldn't look her in the eye.
The full weight of guilt crashed down on Ruby as her own finish came and went.
Ruby winced at her shame. Her stomach turned. She hated herself.
"I-I'm so sorry..."
"It's okay. I asked you to do it." Weiss mumbled. "I gave you consent-"
"But you changed your mind." Ruby interrupted. "You begged me to stop and I...What the fuck is wrong with me?"
"Nothing." Weiss shook her head. "You're the only person I would have asked. I still trust you."
The caped-girl extended a comforting hand.
Weiss curled away further at the caped-girl's touch. Ruby bit her lip. She let her upper body fall back to the bed in defeat. Her mind prepared for a lonely night of self-loathe.
They still slept apart that night.
