There are some things that happen in here that may move people to cry or affect them in other ways.
I'm hoping by the middle and end, your tears would have dried. Thank you for reading my story!

I was giggling like crazy. I never thought I would. But that's exactly what was happening right now as Eric nuzzled into my neck. We were out on the football field like we had been earlier in the beginning of the year except this time we were getting teased at by the junior varsity football team.
The sophomores were practicing now with the Juniors in preparation for the next school year. This year they won the State Championship so the Juniors along with the upcoming players wanted to get another trophy, defending their title.
"Stop," I laughed as Eric kissed my shoulder. "You have to go and practice," I said softly as he hummed while kissing my neck.
"Matthews, let's go already," shouted Peter. "You'll see her tonight anyways."
"Shut up Hayes," Eric turned around and flipped him off.
"You should really go," I put a hand on his chest pushing him back slightly.
"Aw..."
"Mmm..."
There was a chorus of aw's and kissing noises coming from the field.
"Shut up," Eric yelled back at them. I had noticed that during the course of the year his scary image was slowly dying down because of me. Some of the guys still looked scared but most of them just chuckled and shook their heads at us.
"Really Eric," I leaned up and gave him a soft kiss. "I'm the last girlfriend out here."
Eric looked around and let out a small laugh. "Yeah, you're usually not the last one here, too." Eric turned back to me. "Well that's because I want to keep you by me."
"Eric," I squealed when he pulled me back into him and tried to kiss me. "Come on you have practice," I pushed him back. "Besides," I whispered. "You will see me later," I pressed a soft kiss under his jaw. Eric groaned in response. Quickly I unwrapped myself from his arms and ran away from the bleachers.
"Hey," he shouted after me.
I turned around when I was at the bottom. "I'll see you tonight," I yelled back.
"Ooh..."
"I'll see you tonight..."
"Yeah baby..."
"Shut up," this time both Eric and I yelled at his teammates on the field.
I was glad that Eric and I were spending time together tonight. The past two weeks had been hectic with all that was going on and we had been with our friends. Not that I minded because I wanted to be there for them.
Christina had her moments but that was to be expected since she was dealing with a crisis at home. The following day Four had gotten a similar call. Since now he was eighteen and an adult, his parents who had been separated for a while were now going to finalize their divorce. Tris stayed with him that night and the following day Four and the boys hung out.
When I called Eric that night he said that he was glad that he had me, Four was glad that he had Tris, basically all of them were happy that they had supportive girlfriends but girlfriends couldn't really replace 'the boys'.
Uriah had said it before that sometimes it is nice to just get together whether it was just the girls or just the guys. And it was.
The third day Peter had gotten the same ill-fated call. What the hell was going on? Peter tried to act like he didn't care. But from what Lauren said he cried in her arms that night.
After that had happened no one wanted to answer their phones if their parents were calling. So when Eric's mother called we all looked at him weird. She was sending over one of her public relations people to help Eric and me with our interview that we had to go through. America called me later on saying that she was sent a person from PR, a hair stylist, a speech writer, a fashion coordinator, the whole works. I thought it was silly but I didn't complain about it to Eric.
The next day was the worst. We had heard that Molly lost her baby. It was born prematurely and died shortly after. Drew called Peter and that night we all went to see them in the hospital. It was the most that we had cried all year. Hell, it was the most we ever saw any of the guys cry. They cried for Drew and hung onto him as he screamed.
Surprisingly Molly asked Tris to stay and Tris did. She slept in the hospital bed with Molly as Molly clung to her. Tris didn't come back to campus until Sunday Morning when Four went to go and pick her up. Drew never came back to school after that. There was about a month left until graduation and he had passed majority of his necessary classes.
Things were dreary for everyone after that. Almost every night I cried. Friday night Christina and I slept in the same bed, holding each other and crying. Saturday night I slept in Eric and Aidan's room and I cried then too. Sunday it was a sleepover in Shauna's room. We all sniffed tears back during the night. Monday was quiet for all of us in class.
It wasn't until Wednesday when we got a call that Drew and Molly had gone off and got married. They said they needed each other more than ever now. Drew said she should have done right by Molly a long time ago instead of going with her and then with someone else then back to her and again to someone else. She didn't deserve to be played like that.
Molly at first said no, thinking that he was doing it out of pity but when Drew said that all of their family was going to be there as a witness to his actions she decided to say yes. Their baby was cremated and placed in between them to know that even though their child had died, the love they had for her and each other would live on.
"It's kind of serious," asked Eric when we found out. "Don't you think? I mean yeah they're both eighteen but marriage is a big step. With everyone's parents getting..."
"It's going to be difficult for both of them," I looked up at Eric as we were lying in bed. "They need each other, they need one another's family, and they need all the support they can get. That even means us," I took his hand.
We were sent pictures of their small wedding ceremony and a couple of us got to chat with Molly and Drew before they left for their honeymoon.
"Some honeymoon," Peter grumbled. "Their parents and other family members are going to be there."
Even though that was true, I and a few others thought it would have been nice for them to get away and rely on the strength from their families. Their trip would be for ten days at remote places like some little island off of Florida. It was the first time both Drew and Molly had gone that far away from home so they were excited. I wanted to think that all of the experiences we were going through right before graduation were helping us all to grow.
"So I need to ask," said Christina a couple nights later when we were in our dorm room.
"About," I turned on my bed to face her. The way she was talking now had me thinking that she had something going on in that little head of hers.
"About going Uni," she answered like it was no big deal.
I sat up and eyed her out.
"It's just an idea that Will pitched to me and I thought it would be great."
"You're planning on not going, aren't you?"
"A lot of people do it and the scholarship for both Will and I will still be open."
"Wait," I swung my legs over the edge of the bed and completely faced her. "You're serious about this?"
"I thought out of all my friends you would be the most understanding. Where's your sense of adventure, Alex?"
"It's here, it's just that..." I trailed off. "How long?"
"How long what?"
"How long are you and Will going to be travelling or whatever it is you have planned?"
Christina got a little giddy inside and motioned for me to come over to her bed. "We're going to take a road trip, see if we can go through Route 66 or something like that. Will wants to stop at the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Zion National Park, Carlsbad Caverns, Lake Tahoe, you know all those nature places," she moved her hand and it caused me to laugh a little at her.
"People live all their lives and never go and see that," I mentioned. "I think you'll like it."
"I told Will that we have to, absolutely have to go to Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, oh and Times Square to take a picture there," she smiled.
"Be careful," I warned her with a smile. "You might like it so much that you won't go back to DSU."
"I will," she nodded.
"Well, I never thought out of everyone in our group that you would be the one to take a break before starting school again. What brought this on?"
"In all honesty," Christina looked down. "I don't want to be close to where my mom is living with that douche. The University's campus is just half an hour away."
"Oh," I looked away too.
Christina and I were quiet for a while which was odd for her. At the same time I could understand her dilemma. I don't think I would have wanted to have been near either my mother or father if they had cheated on one another, especially after preaching for long about commitment, faithfulness, and loyalty. Christina's mother had basically lied to her, her father, and her sisters their entire lives.
"I know I said this before Christina," I wrapped an arm around her. "But you're a beautiful, caring person. You have all of your friends here to help you. Things have been crazy lately, I know. But what is that thing you're always saying," I smiled and nudged her.
Christina straightened out and had a smile on her face as well. "In the words of Taylor Swift, I'm just going to shake it off."
"I don't think I heard you," I egged her on.
"Shake it off, shake it off," she sang and did a shimmy.
"Come on Christina," I playfully elbowed her.
Christina ran over to the radio that was in our dorm room. It was eleven at night and I didn't like a lot of Christina's music. But right now I didn't care about that. I was doing this as her friend.
She turned around as the song came on. "Are you going to dance with me?"
"Sure, why not," I replied as we both laughed.
We both jumped up on her bed and began singing the next part of the song and for once I didn't care about anything but being with one of the craziest, outgoing, bubbly people that I knew. She threw me a hair brush and had one of her own.
"I never miss a beat
I'm lightning on my feet
And that's what they don't see
That's what they don't see
I'm dancing on my own
I make the moves up as I go
And that's what they don't know
That's what they don't know
But I keep cruising
Can't stop, won't stop grooving
It's like I got this music
In my mind, saying it's gonna be alright"
We were clapping, moving our bodies, jumping on each other's bed, probably waking up the others in the dorms but I didn't even care. When the song was done, we both collapsed on her bed laughing at ourselves. The Taylor Swift songs continued to play and I found myself singing to one of them.
"I like this song, too."
"I never said I liked it," I argued.
"You don't need to. You're singing it. That tells me that you like it," Christina replied.
"It's got a nice beat to it," I shrugged.
"I knew I'd do it," Christina smiled and shook her head.
"Do what?"
"Convert you to like something that I loved," Christina said. "You were a hard one to crack, just like Tris was last year but I think I got to you too."
"You did," I smiled and we did a side hug.
"Thanks Alex."
"No," I shook my head pulling back. "Thank you Christina. You're right. You did rub off on me and I'm really glad that you did. I had an amazing person as a roommate this year and I wouldn't change a thing."
"Oh my God," Lauren slammed her books down on the table when we were in our Physics class. "I didn't study at all for this test."
"We have a test," both Myra and I asked.
"I'm surprised you two didn't study either," Lynn sat down across from me.
"I didn't know there was a test."
"That's because it's not a test," said Doctor Minchin walking to our table and placing the papers down in front of us. "This is merely a preview of sorts to show areas in which you would need to improve before the final test. Remember that the final project and test count for majority of your grade. And some of you need this science credit to graduate."
A lot of us groaned. I was one of them. I didn't take any science classes last year. I had been super busy with cheerleading at Amity. That was the whole reason why when coming here to Dauntless. I wanted to focus on my schooling. I needed this science credit.
"Alright," the Doctor announced.
We didn't really like her and Lauren suggested that we set her up with one of the other teachers. "She needs to get laid," was an infamous saying that Lauren would say every time Professor Minchin was in a mood. She had all these awards and certificates for teacher of the year and all these other things. Among them was a doctorate, hence the reason why we had to call her Doctor Minchin instead of Miss Minchin.
Good luck - Eric
You too - Alex
I turned around and saw him wink at me. I pressed my lips together and blew a kiss his way. He pretended to catch it and melt in his chair causing me to smile wider.
"Eyes front," Doctor Minchin reminded. "You have all of class to complete this. You may start," she paused and then walked to her desk. "Now," she finished as everyone flipped their papers over.
