On to the story! Its finally time for RYUUKO AND GAARA VS SASUKE AND NEJI!
Ryuuko POV
I looked at the other three people on the arena and a little 'Kya~' escaped my mouth. Sasuke immediately tensed up. He already knew that sound to well.
"Ready... Begin!" Neji activated his byakugan and his eyes widened even more than before. I could probably guess why. The great amount of chakra gathered in the scale on my forehead, the ginormous amount sealed in Gaara, and the horrible sinister chakra on Sasuke's shoulder.
Neji turned to Sasuke, and then hit him. Sasuke flew back a bit, and clenched his arm.
"What..."
"Hyuga Neji, due to viloation of the rules, you-"
"Wait please." Neji cut in. Hayate looked at the Hokage, and the Hokage nodded. Everyone focused back on Sasuke. Slowly, he stretched out his arm, and clenched his fist. Then, he closed his eyes.
"Sasuke, are you-" Kakashi was cut off as Sasuke opened his now red eyes. I was shocked, as so were a lot of other people, many who wanted to know why Neji wasn't being disqualified.
I frowned, and started to think. What did Neji's hit do? It...
Sealed chakra. That was the kinder way to put it. So, when Neji hit Sasuke...
"You sealed the chakra leading to this, didn't you?" Sasuke said, a tint of thanks in his voice. Neji smirked, then nodded.
"Aren't you forgetting to say something, Uchiha?"
Sasuke frowned, and looked away. Neji snorted.
"Let's start." Gaara said, bloodlust seeping into his voice. I smiled. Personally, this evil Gaara was better than the Kazekage Gaara.
For now, I would stay with the simpler stuff. It wouldn't do to have all my moves out in the open at the beginning of the match.
I pulled out a string of kunai. The special thing about them was that Shira had helped me put sealing scrolls on them.
I threw them toward the two and made a singal hand sign and shouted, "Kai!"
The kunai glowed briefly, and then the seals released. Poisoned senbon, nets, explosive tags and all sorts of fun stuff rained down on the two. Neji jumped in front of Sasuke and started to spin.
The weapons were knocked down, but a few got close to Sasuke, who dodged them, and then jumped into the air.
He formed a few seals that I reconized. It was one of the jutsus I had learned back in the real world.
"Katon: Giant fireball!" It headed rght toward Gaara and I. I cursed, then went behind Gaara, whose sand created a shield.
"Thanks." I said to him. He froze a minute, then turned toward me,
"No one has ever said thanks to me before..." He muttered. I tched.
"Well, now someone has. And just saying, when someone says 'thanks' or 'thank you', you should say 'Your welcome'"
What the heck was I doing? Did I just...attempt to teach Gaara manners?
"Then...your welcome." He replied. I smiled, and then saw behind him.
Watch out!" I screamed. There was another fire ball. Gaara easily blocked that, but then from behind the fire ball came Neji.
He bent down, and I reconized that stance as well.
"Hakke Rokujūyon Shō!" I held my breath as Neji pounded against the sand.
"Two palms! Four palms! Eight palms! Sixteen palms! Thirdytwo palms!" I gasped as the sand started to crack into pieces.
"Sixtyfour palms!" Neji finished. The barriers broken halfway through and Neji mangaded to land hits on Gaara.
When the Hyuga finished, Sasuke came and used a fire jutsu, which torched Gaara.
There was silence as the fire burned a bit, then went out.
Gaara's body was on the ground, and as we watched, it...crumbled into bits of sand!
"A sand clone!" Sasuke said. The two doijutsu users looked around, and then both whipped around, only to jump away as they registered a wave of sand.
Oh god...
I did the only thing I could think of. Scream.
"OMG, GAARA YOU ARE GOING TO KILL ME!" I shouted.
The wave swerved and followed the two clan people. I sighed.
The scence had disgusted me. I didn't defend myself. I only screamed like a coward. Damn it.
This was going to need to change.
"Kuchiyose no Jutsu!" I shouted. Bitting my finger was rather painful...
There was a poof of smoke and Kouki appeared. I jumped on top of him and we flew up. By the ceiling, I watched Gaara direct the sand to chase the other two boys around.
"Let's do this!" Mentally, I started to communicate.
Using the fire jutsus, we need to occupy them until Gaara is able to catch them. Shower of flame should work.
Sure.
"Dragon fire: Shower of Flame!" Kouki breated fire, which separated as if they were water droplets from a shower-head.
The drops were each about the size of my head. They fell down toward Sasuke and Neji.
Using his sharingan, Sasuke was able to pull Neji away, and then successfully dodge the others. However, while he was occupied, Gaara set his sand up.
"10 minutes."
The two were panting, when the sand around them stired. Quick as a blink, sand rose and captured the two.
I told Karudo to fly down, and we landed. I jumped off and gave a tired smile.
Summoning dragons took more out of me then an usual summon would. After all, they were huge. Massive chakra reserves were needed, which I honestly haven't gotten yet.
"Give up." Gaara commanded. There was a pause, and then the sand surrounding Neji exploded away. Neji dropped to the ground, and then started to break apart the sand enveloping Sasuke.
The Ichibi's jinchuriki saw this and tightened the sands grasp. Sasuke gasped, and coughed up a bit of blood.
Suddenly, a dark chakra pervaded the air. I focused onto Sasuke's shoulder. The curse mark started to spread.
As it did, Sasuke gained more and more strength. Finally, he emitted a huge amount of chakra all at once, and the sand fell away.
His body was half covered in black flame patterned. Anko was immediately down by Sasuke's side, as well as Kakashi.
"Don't stop me!" Sasuke shouted. I edged away from Sasuke. Gaara though, got a crazed look on his face.
"Mom wants your blood!" He said, a smile appearing on his face. Neji and I both moved away from the two.
"This is not good..." I muttered. Curse seal crazy Sasuke and Shukaku messed up Gaara, just wonderful.
"Um...Hokage-sama! Could we just end the match here? After all, it will be getting extremely violent and dangerous. I feel we should just end it here!" Some random ninja called out.
"Hokage-sama, Uchiha Sasuke needs to be removed from this match right now.
"Hokage-sama! Gaara...he needs to be stopped immediately!"
After a while, the Hokage spoke.
"Not yet. Set a timer for 5 more minutes. If there is still 4 of them, then they all pass. If three, wait until its two. These genin can defend themselves. Of course, if they want to end this, they may do so now. Anko, Kakashi, stand-by and be prepared to contain Sasuke is necessary."
So all I had to do was last five minutes in an enclosed area with a crazy Sasuke and Gaara.
"KOUKI!" I shouted, then jumped on his back. We flew toward the ceiling, and I dug out a soldier pill. Swallowing it, I felt my strength returning to me.
Right now, what chakra nature would be the best? I was fighting sand, and fire.
Well, water beats fire. And water would weight the sand down, like in that filler.
Perfect.
"Kouki, drop me down, I'm going to use Hayami."
We dropped down, and then he disappeared. I began to go through the seals for summoning when Neji came out of the smoke.
He aimed a punch at me, and I dropped to the ground, then rolled away.
I ran a few steps backwards. There was no way I could allow him to hit me.
I dodged another punched, then faked a left, followed by a kick from the right. He dodged, but I used the momentum of that kick to spin and aim again with my left leg. I winced as my leg hit his arm.
Jumping backwards, I rested a bit. I sneaked a glance toward Gaara and Sasuke. Sasuke was running around, dodging sand, and then attempting to get a hit at Gaara between the attacks. As I watched, he launched a succession of fireballs, and then ran behind then. A few seconds later, there were only two fireballs between the two. I saw an afterimage of Sasuke as one of the two fireballs crashed into Gaara's sand, and then realized that he was behind Gaara.
In his hand was a kunai that was surrounded by a red, with some streaks of blue, chakra.
He stabbed the sand that had risen, and there was a strength battle. Everyone was focused on the struggle...except Neji.
I flew across the room, and landed on my back. For seconds, I struggled to breath. Damn that arrogant, annoying, fate-obsessed, pessimistic Hyuga!
Neji's face came into my view.
"You fought well, but your fate was to lose."
"Shut...up..." I gasped out. "I'm...not...done..yet!"
I turned onto my side, and lashed out. I was able to get him off guard. In that moment, a few things happen, though not affect me.
First, Sasuke wins the struggle of sand, and pushed through. The kunai graces Gaara's skin. Second, Neji attacks again
As for me, I decided I was done with holding back my powers.
Chakra surged through my arms, and my skin turns into golden scales. My hands morph into claws, and I swipe at Neji. Shocked at the transformation, he stumbles, and losses his cool for a moment.
"What the..."
"I did say I wasn't done yet." With that, I charge.
We start a taijutsu match. My scales are able to absorb some of the chakra that Neji releases with his stabs. The claws are sharp, and easily tear through the cloth on his shoulder, and leave a few lines. Blood pours down his arm, and Hayate shouts something.
I totally ignore it.
This...it was the first time that I had actually drawn that much blood. Seeing it happen was so different from actually knowing that it was you who inflected the wound.
It is only when medics come rushing forward that I realize that the five minutes are up. All four of us have passes. I should feel happy, but the feeling doesn't come.
Those three claw marks on his shoulder were caused by me. He is in pain now because of ME.
I stumbled out of the arena, shoving through the people who came to congratulate me.
I had truly underestimated the life of a ninja. To think I got queasy at the blood pouring down Neji. How many times did I watch battles, complaining that they were moving to slowly, totally undisturbed by the blood? How many times did I sigh of boredom while seeing minor characters die?
Right now, I wasn't sure I could ever kill someone.
I was a broken Kunoichi. One that couldn't kill.
Seems like I had a lot of things I need to strengthen.
And I end the match on a gloomy note. Sorry about that :D
Please review! Please~
Pretty please with the next chapter on top?
