But then that Water Tribe boy had come running in, shouting, and the Fire Nation troops commander had ordered an immediate evacuation! And he'd been ordered to leave his cart behind; the hills outside the village were too steep for bringing it.
The roar of the dam breaking and the floodwaters rushing past drowned out his despairing cry: "My cabbages!"
