The Buckingham Palace. Part 5.
Naru, John, and Bou-san stood up from their seats and walked out into the hallway.
"Is there something wrong, Naru?" John asked.
"Yeah, I thought it was kind of strange. Normally you send Ayako and Masako to search for spirits," Bou-san said.
"It's because I think that Albert was listening to what we say." Naru began. "I thought changing things up a bit would throw him off the scent. And since Mai is out of commission—"
"It would be wise to have extra protection around her." Bou-san finished for him.
"I think I should go to the Royal Cemetery and say a prayer over the gravestones. I don't want him to use them as Shiki." John stated.
"That's a good idea, John. I think I should put a statue of Buddha by the front door. To keep any lingering spirits from entering." Bou-san agreed. Naru nodded his approval.
"How many statues of Buddha do you have?" John asked.
"I have four statues."
John pulled out four prayer beads with crosses attached. "Put the prayer beads on the necks of your Buddha statues. And go to the four cardinal directions of the palace."
"What is that going to do?" Bou-san questioned.
"When you say your prayer to the Buddha statues. The Holy Spirit will lend his strength to the Buddha, making them even stronger than before." John replied patiently.
"That's amazing, I never thought that was possible," Bou-san said, blinking in surprise.
"We may have different beliefs, Bou-san, however, regardless of where we come from and what we look like, our faith is one in the same." John said
"Amen to that." Bou-san grinned.
"When you are done, return to base. I'm going to interview the princes." Naru said.
~Three hours later~
John and Bou-san return to base.
"Were you successful?" Naru asked, turning towards them.
"Yes," John gave him a relieved smile.
"Were you able to interview the young princes?" Bou-san asked.
"Yes." He replied shortly. "Ayako, are the charms ready yet?"
"Of course! What do you take me for?!" Ayako scowled as she handed Naru the charms. He took them out of her hands and walked out. When he arrived in the royal family's west wing, the stench of blood hit his nose. He put his hand over his mouth, trying not to vomit all over the floor.
