Hello everyone.

I am still traveling, but luckily have pretty good internet tonight. I've been doing a lot of writing during my internet free time.

So here is the next chapter. I wanted a monster that has never been used in the show (and that's not easy). I hope you enjoy, and a really hope to start posting more often. Please let me know what you think (or just say hi).

Kathy dug into the many books in the basement. It had been years since she had this much information at her fingertips. It wasn't until her stomach growled that she glanced at her watch. "Oh my" Jumping she went to head up stairs.

"Hey gorgeous" Kathy froze seeing Dean sitting on the top stair.

"I lost track of time." Kathy said running her fingers through her short hair making it stick out. "Why didn't someone come and get me. Did the boys get dinner? I didn't want Hannah to have to worry about cooking." Kathy collapsed onto the bottom step. "I've been a mother only a few days and I'm failing terribly."

Dean slid down until he was sitting on the step just above Kathy. His legs on each side of her he wrapped his arms around her. She leaned her head back and rested it on his chest. "You are doing just fine. Dad ordered pizza. Their eating right now. So did you find anything?"

"A few possible antidotes, and a few ways of testing whatever that is coming out of him." Kathy sighed. "I'm almost afraid to test it though. One of them, there is no cure."

"Do we have everything to do the tests?"

"For most of them." Kathy sighed. "In fact since the boys are taken care of I should..."

"You should come upstairs and eat something." Dean said standing pulling her with him. "And don't even think of arguing, Dad's orders."

Kathy let him pull her up the stairs and to the dining room. Logan and Kaden where picking at their pizza, John was trying to get Ethan to eat something. "Where's Hannah?" Dean asked looking around.

"I took her up a couple pieces." Kaden said, then hung his head adding. "And brought down the breakfast, she hadn't touched."

Dean nodded sitting Kathy between his sons. "I'll check on her. Why aren't your two plates empty?"

"I'm not…" Logan started.

Shaking his head Dean silenced him. "Don't even try it. I know for a fact that you two didn't eat. So there is no way you're skipping diner too." Looking over at Ethan Dean added. "And you big guy you need to eat and keep your strength up."

"Mommy" Ethan sniffed looking up at Dean.

Dean's heart tightened, Ethan looked so much like Sam. Walking over Dean knelt beside his nephew. "I know baby. But your Mommy is taking care of Daddy. So I need you to stay healthy, and part of that is eating. Can you do that for me?"

Ethan sniffed, before nodding. "Okay Unca."

"Good boy" Dean said ruffling the boy's long hair, as he stood. Grabbing a plate and a couple slices, he headed up the stairs.

Dean paused for a moment at the door. Taking a deep breath he opened the door. The first thing he saw was Sam stretched out on the bed. Seeing the dark red marks crossing his baby brother's back, tore at Dean. Walking in he looked around, and saw Hannah sitting on the floor by the bed. Walking over Dean sat down next to her. He saw the pizza near, not touched. "How's he doing?"

"Sleeping I hope." Hannah was twirling a strand of her long hair with one finger, never looking away from Sam. "He had a nightmare or something an hour ago. He started to toss around. I was so afraid…"

Picking up the plate with the pizza on it Dean laid it on Hannah's lap. "Dad ordered pizza for diner."

"Kaden told me." Hannah dropped the strand then picked up another and started chewing on it.

Scooting closer Dean put his arm around Hannah's shoulders. "I have a question for you." When Hannah didn't say anything Dean went on. "So what would you do if you had an injured person that wouldn't eat?"

Hannah took a deep breath. "He's not awake enough to eat."

"That wasn't the question. You have a person that is injured slightly, but they won't eat. What would you do?"

Hannah shrugged. "I would explain to them how important it is to eat. That they need to keep their strength up." Hannah finally turned and looked at him. Dean's heart ached for the pain in the girl's eyes. "Are you not eating? Oh Dean you must eat. You have to keep up your strength. Sam needs you…"

Dean gently kissed Hannah on the forehead. "I'm eating just fine. And before you ask so are the boys and Dad and Kathy."

Hannah's shoulders shook slightly. "Then who..?"

Dean brushed a stray hair out of Hannah's face. "It's you. You are injured in the worse way possible. An injury that can't be bandaged." Pulling her close, Dean laid her head on his shoulder. "I know you are hurting more than you can put words to." Dean looked back at his brother. "My baby brother is hurt and I can't fix him." Sitting Hannah back up Dean gently forced her to look at him. "But you listen to me, or better yet listen to yourself. You need to eat. Sam needs you strong, as much as he needs me. But most importantly you need to eat for the little Winchester you're growing."

Hannah let out a low sob laying her hand on her stomach. "I…I can't believe I…how could I..."

Dean smiled. "You've had a few other things on your mind. Now eat up."

Kathy peaked her head into John's room and couldn't help but smile at the sight. He had headed upstairs two hours earlier to try and get Ethan to sleep. Logan and Kaden had gone with him to help. The fierce hunter now laid in the middle of his bed Ethan curled in a ball at his head, all but one arm, that was thrown over John's neck. Logan asleep to the right of his grandfather while Kaden was out on the other side. Quietly she closed the door and turned to Sam and Hannah's room where Dean was coming out.

"How are they?"

Dean leaned against the closed door rubbing his face. "As good as they could be. Hannah ate, and I talked her into getting into the bed. Sam's told me hundreds of times that he sleeps better with her next to him. Speaking of sleeping…"

"I can sleep later." Kathy said. "Right now Sam is getting more than enough sleep. Oh and the big scary John Winchester successively got the Minis to sleep."

"So if we're not going to sleep then what?"

"You can sleep." Kathy said reaching in her pocket, she pulled out a vile full of pink liquid. "I'm going to go down and start testing."

"What can I do to help?"

Kathy headed down the stairs. "I'm going to need bowls and a couple of spoons and a knife or two." Kathy scratched her head. "Yeah that should be everything."

By the time Dean walked down into the basement, his arms full of things. Kathy had rearranged some of the boxes making them into small tables. There were some books lying open on top of said boxes. The actual table was full of different vials, jars and bags.

"Looks like you've been busy."

Kathy shrugged. "I love rearranging things."

Dean glanced at one of the books. "Are you sure we have all of this?"

Kathy glanced over. "That's the one we don't have the stuff for. I'm going to start with this one and keep my fingers crossed."

Dean walked over and looked over her shoulder. "Why this one?"

"We have everything for the test and the cure."

"Good point." Dean said kissing her check. "Hot in looks and brains."

Kathy blushed pointing to her left. "Take that jar and start cutting."

"Yes ma'am."

Kathy took one of the bowls and started adding things one at a time. Once she was satisfied she picked up the vial and glanced at Dean. "Well here goes nothing." She tipped the vial and put in a couple drops.

They leaned over and starred into the bowl. After a moment Dean said. "So was something supposed to happen?"

Kathy glanced back at the book. "It was supposed to turn yellow."

"Well I guess we move on to the next one."

Each one turned out the same, nothing. They were finally down to the last one they had ingredients for. Kathy held the vial over the bowl. "We're almost out."

"Dump it in if we need it we can get more in the morning."

Kathy nodded and emptied the vial into the bowl. After a few seconds…nothing. "Well that's it the only one the other ones that it might be is impossible to do. That is unless you know where to find a unicorn."

"Excuse me?"

"One of the ingredients is dust from the horn of a unicorn." Kathy said. "Last I looked there was no such thing." Kathy slid down sitting on the floor. "What are we going to do now? I've searched through everything."

"Uhm Hun what exactly was this supposed to do?"

"The books there on the table. It was supposed to turn black than white."

Dean glanced at the book. "Yeah after its set on fire."

Kathy jumped up. "What"

"Right here it says 'After set to torch' doesn't that mean set it on fire."

Kathy scanned the book and cursed. "I can't believe I missed that." Kathy grabbed a match struck it and tossed it into the bowl. The flame shot up, Dean pulled Kathy out of the way. The flame turned black than flashed white before going out.

"Well I guess we've found the poison." Dean said. "So what are we dealing with?"

"Well that's the easy part." Kathy said picking up the book. "Sam fought a Troll."

"I'm sorry a what?"

Kathy couldn't help but laugh at the look on Dean's face. "A Troll, which means unless he set it on fire or soaked it in acid it's still walking around. But the good news is we know how to kill it."

"Let me guess fire or acid? I take it that there is bad news?"

"The only way to cure the poison is with a potion."

"That doesn't sound too bad." Dean said trying to get a look at the book. Kathy stepped out of his way holding the book close. "Kathy what aren't you sharing?"

"In fact there are two potions. One we would have to get the blood of the very troll that scratched him. That will be near to impossible. Mainly because if we use the wrong one it will kill Sam."

Crossing his arms Dean narrowed his eyes. "Okay what's the second one?"

Kathy sighed and turned the book around. "It's a spell Dean. A very powerful spell."

Dean took the book. "Okay I've done spells before."

"Nothing like this I'm sure. This must be done by a powerful sorcerer." Kathy studied Dean's face for a moment before adding. "Or a witch." Dean closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Kathy reached out and touched Dean's arm. He tensed at first then relaxed opening his eyes. "I can't ignore what I am Dean. Not if it will save Sam. Is this going to be a problem?"

Dean locked eyes with her. "I really want to say no."

"But"

"But I'm never going to lie to you." Dean sat the book down then pulled Kathy into his arms. "I trust you and if you're okay with it so am I."

"I'm going to have to go get some things." Kathy hugged Dean breathing in the scent of him. "I'll be back in a few hours."

Dean held her tighter. "Where are you going at this hour?"

Kathy looked up at Dean. "I have to do a little gardening. You go get some sleep."

"I'm not the only one that needs sleep."

"I'll sleep twice as much once Sam is healed."

Reluctantly Dean let her go. "Deal."
