Reviewers, oh how I love you guys this easter day!
Mundane Beast: there is a pointer...there is no match of Ryu Vs. Amy. I didn't want to write a battle this early displaying all their skills of the new village. They still have many secrets not yet told. If I was to write a final match, the last one of Rachael Vs Amy would have been it, but then I'd have to have made the matches of Rachel Vs. Ryu and Rei Vs. Amy. Just some writer's reasons for the story is all.
Keeper of Worlds: I took many weeks to think up that description of a kyuubi appearing when they can look like a normal fox. Just needed to add in a flowing set of redish chakra to keep it like naruto's in the anime. Just imagine a chakra cloak coming over the fox as it does naruto.
Lill1000: Oh Yeah :) See a Kyuubi is rare and so I've just made Kyuubi its respective name. May or may not make a name for it, but since Kyuubi's only follow their masters and master's lover's orders, no one else can really tell them what to do. As for the colour of midnight blue white snow; imagine being on a mountaintop capped with that white snow on a full moon at midnight. The blue haze around the moon mixes in with the white of the snow. That color.
DiizGirlJess: No? What part did you not like? :( And Amy is the next 'potential' Sorakage, she is kind of like what konohamaru wants in the anime. She probably won't get the position being so close to Naruto's age and all, unless he dies and she is still the strongest and smartest in the village. It's all in the far future. Maybe I should ask Amy if it's alright if I borrow Ryu for a date with you...(SMACK)...Timber returns with a reddened handprint...sorry, Amy says that he can't like girls besides her. Oh! and Akira is shaking her head at my stupidity. I tried!
7th Demon of Razgriz: mmmmmm. Pumpkin pie. Delicious. Oh look! Here comes my crush. Hey- oh wow, she's licking the pie off my face! Thanks Demon!
SeaWolf90: Yeah, I think I pretty much made Amy all powerful there, or will be powerful in a couple years by the time she reaches NaruSaku's ages.
AN: So I made Amy seem powerful, but remember that everyone has a weakness. For Naruto, it's Sakura. If the enemy held a bound Sakura in the anime, I doubt Naruto would still attack. He would only hope that Sakura would punch her captor's face in. So, time to figure out who won?!
Sorakage Arc III
Chapter 38: Goodbyes
"Damn, Rachael. You're fast." Amy smiled as blood dripped down her face as blood clotted in her stomach around Rachael's sword that was embedded to the hilt in Amy and out the other side as blood slinked down the white blade.
"But not fast enough". Rachael smiled back before coughing up more blood, some splattering across Amy's face, as two golden kunai were sticking inside to their handles in Rachael's right lung and liver. Rachael's knees buckled and she moved to fall to the ground, her grip on the sword gone.
Luckily, Amy caught the underside of Rachael's arm and brought it around her neck, holding Rachael up with her, and their weapons still lodged in each other.
"Winner: Amy Namikaze!" Kirito announced and the crowd burst into thunderous applause, some from the most exciting match they had seen, but most from the last bit of the battle and comradery between the two shinobi.
Amy and Rachael stayed facing each other until some medical ninja ran up and separated them, working to take out the two kunai and the sword out of the two gennin, while healing other wounds, however small they might be.
After a minute or two, the two gennin were back to facing each other, their wounds somewhat healed. Out of the tunnel behind them came the other four Gennin and their teammates. They each set up in a single line and turned to face the judge's box. Since the Sorakage and Hokage had ninja in the competition, they were barred from voting, since they'd no doubt say yes to promotion.
They watched as the other kages and judges gave their votes in a whispered fashion, hiding their mouths from view as ninja would no doubt be reading lips as to see the outcome beforehand. After a good ten minutes, the crowd was getting impatient and saw the Uchiha step forward to deliver the good and bad news to the Gennin and the audience in attendance.
"The Gennin that have passed;…Shira, Akira, Ryu, Rei, Amy, and Rachael! All of the gennin today have shown the skills and knowledge of that befitting a Chunnin in the ranks of shinobi worldwide. Congratulations to you six and have a great day."
Three days later, most of the participants, guests, and shinobi from all over the world had left the village of SkySora, with the exception of a few. Sasuke had left with the Hokage only to return a few hours ago, along with the Tsuchikage and Raikage's lieutenants, with the scrolls that held the bet that Naruto had won during the tournament.
Sasuke as well as the two lieutenants were surprised when Naruto had answered their question of where the money would go.
"To the village of course" Naruto had smiled simply.
Sasuke was less surprised than the other two, knowing that Naruto's ambition in the world was to create an everlasting peace and prosperity. There would be wars, and killing to be done when that peace was threatened, but it was for the good of the world. That, and Sasuke knew that Naruto would do anything for his village, as well as one other person in his life.
Sasuke waited for the other two to leave, knowing that they believed that this village was below their own stations, stating it on their way over. Once they did, Sasuke talked a while with his friend, noticing how much calmer and less happy he was when Sakura was all the way back in Konoha. Originally, she had been the one assigned to deliver the bet, but her father had broken his ankle and though she had been quick to set it, Sakura had asked Sasuke to deliver it for her so that she could take care of her father in the meantime.
As Sasuke left Naruto's office and down the streets, he smiled at Sakura's smarts, even in a subconscious mind. He would have been here anyways, to take his team of now Chunnin back to Konoha. Speaking of which, they should be at the gates now, waiting for him. Oh well, he'd give them some more time to say goodbye to their new friends in SkySora.
Rachael's team did indeed stand by the gates, waiting for their sensei, but they had arrived there with Amy's team in tow and were in the middle of saying goodbye. The two boys had gripped the other's elbow, locking their arms against the other as they smiled together, knowing that they'd fight against each other again to test themselves and the other.
The girls however, were crying slightly and hugging deeply as most girls do when they are parting from friends. Shira had decided to gift Akira with a couple of her trench knives, still with shadow chakra that would be able to hold an enemy down for a good ten seconds, plenty of time for any ninja. Akira had also gifted Shira with the crossbow that had made the match a draw. The bolts in the crossbow would be able to be controlled to hit their target accurately and precisely.
Of course, they had modified these weapons themselves so that neither could reproduce them for their village, though they wouldn't anyways. It simply meant that Shira would have to collect each bolt and Akira would have to pick up the trench knives she threw. But it was worth it; the both of them recognized the abilities of such gifts and of how great a friendship must have been worth to receive such gifts.
As for Rachael and Amy, they had something a little different.
"Rachael, I have something for you." Amy said as she took out a box from behind her. The box was about the size of normal box used to ship things places, but the wood was crafted and adorned with great carvings of shinobi and jutsus, all within the framework. Rachael took the box from Amy and looked it over.
"Amy, this looks amazing," Rachael said as she admired the work and craftsmanship.
"No Rachael, open the lid." Amy chuckled.
"Oh," Rachael looked and saw a thin line on the top, and pulled it up, splitting the lid into two lids and looked inside.
Inside the box were a dozen kunai, except these kunai were golden in color and on each kunai were dozens of the same seal, covering the surfaces. Rachael picked one up by the handle and felt that it was lighter than a normal kunai. When Rachael ran a finger along the edge, she immediately felt the edge tear slightly into her skin, causing her finger to bleed.
"So lighter and sharper than most kunai. I'll guess that the seals make it stronger to other kunai for defenses?"
"Actually no." Amy said sadly as she pulled out a small scroll from a hidden side compartment on the box's exterior. "I wish I'd thought to add that. No, these kunai are to be used for a specific mission. Assassination."
"Amy-" Rachael began.
"No one likes to kill, Rachael, but we must. These kunai will allow you to kill your targets from far away. Once you kill an enemy with the kunai, another will appear in this box, and the other kunai loses the seals, keeping its golden color. The seals actually are sound proof seals. No one, even with chakra-strength ears in most cases, will hear these kunai in flight, and the golden color when thrown, matches a seemingly flash of sunlight or moonlight at night."
"Amy, I can't accept this. I have nothing to offer you and my village will want to use these kunai and-" Rachael tried to explain.
"You're being silly, Rachael. They only work if you yourself throw them; they are tied to your blood and chakra alone. The box will appear empty if anyone else opens it, and the kunai will stay fast in there stuck if someone tries to steal them."
"You didn't need to do this," Rachael cried as she pulled Amy in for a deep hug, her black hair mixing in with Amy's brown. They were about the same height, but their hair was slightly entangled as they continued to speak.
"Rachael, you're right, I didn't need to, but I wanted to. You became my friend, and that's a gift in itself. I am proud to call you my friend and I hope that these kunai will make a legend out of you and your skills out in the field."
"Just like you and your ability in everything." Rachael quipped as they broke apart.
"Not everything! Geez, you'll never let it go." Amy complained as they'd been arguing over what the other should have done during the fight in the arena. Rachael saw her brother approaching them and nodded to her team. Amy placed the scroll back in the secret compartment.
"Read the scroll to understand the seals better."
"Thank you for everything Amy. Don't forget to send me a letter every now and again."
"I will, as long as you do. Take care."
Amy and her team watched the others turn around and follow their sensei out of the gates and behind the hills before turning around themselves and heading home to think about the past month of events.
The team from Konoha stepped into the transportation seal and Sasuke nodded to the sky ninja manning the seal to begin. As the seal began to glow and send them back to where they called home, Rachael looked out at SkySora, along the walls, at the forest and finally at the waterfall where, as the bright light surrounded her, she swore that there had been a red furred Kyubii sitting at the top of the waterfall, as if safeguarding the city, keeping it in peace and leading it to a time of prosperity.
