Scar still had the knife in his stomach as troopers, Manta and Deathstroke came back in.
He had hacked the cameras so no one saw what actually happened.
" Get him medical attention". Manta ordered and pulled out the knife.
Everyone nodded and Jason contacted M'gann.
" I got him out M'gann. I saved him". Jason said " I stabbed myself so he could get out".
" Are you alright".
" Better then Dick. I saved my little brother M'gann he's safe for now".
" He'll remember that. I have to continue with Kaldur be safe Jason".
" I will".
Hours passed by and everyone had fallen asleep at the watchtower even Red Arrow and Damien.
" They all look so young". Barry said as he observed each teen and young adult.
" They are". Dinah said and smiled as Wally pulled Artemis closer to him. It was nice having Artemis back and seeing Wally.
" Seems like just yesterday they were all new to the hero work not a clue what was out there and now their pros and so fully aware of everything".
" They've grown up so much. They all have. After so many years together they know each other like the back of their hands. They created a new family".
" An unbreakable bond that involves under age drinking together". Barry said as he picked up a bottle that was still on the floor. " I knew there was a reason the zeta tubes kept going off".
" What's that paper on it"?
" To our friends and family. May be gone but never died".
" Should we wake them"?
" If we don't they'll make us regret it. Cover your ears".
Barry covered his ears as Canary let out her Canary Cry. The teens all jumped up and covered their ears.
" He's up"! Barry shouted and didn't realized how loud he was.
" Thanks". Damien said before heading to the medical wing.
Dick looked like a total disaster. Wounds and scars were covering his whole body and it made Damien feel like a failure.
" Dami". Dick said as his eyes slowly opened.
" Hey little bird".
" I'm tired".
" Then back to sleep".
" Stay".
" Always".
Damien climbed into the bed with his younger and watched as his closed. He watched his chest rise and fall steadily.
He took off Dick's mask and saw the two new scars on his eyes. Deathstroke was going to pay.
" I'm so sorry". Damien whispered running a hand though his little brothers hair " I promised I would protect but I failed. I won't let this happen again to you".
Damien sighed and allowed his eyes to close. He hadn't slept in a week and now his body had had enough.
" Scar what happened". Manta asked
" He caught me off guard. I released him so he would die on the floor but he stole my knives and got a lucky shot". Scar replied
" There's no way he survived". Deathstroke said " If he did it's gonna be a miracle".
" Get some rest Scar".
Manta and Detahstroke walked out and Scar smiled to himself. He still couldn't believe that after thirty four days of feeling helpless he finally save his younger brother.
" I did it". Scar thought " I finally saved him but like Deathstroke said it's gonna be a miracle. Knowing Dick he's not going without a fight. He followed the bat motto. If I go down I'm going down fighting".
Damien slept two hours and he made a phone call after getting up.
" Hey. Yeah look I need a favor".
" What do you need". Jade asked on the other side
" Meet me at Wayne Enterprises in ten".
" It better be important".
" Just meet me".
" Fine".
Damien hung up and slipped out of the medical wing only to slam into Red Arrow.
" Your meeting Jade"? RA said with a raised eyebrow
" I know what your going to say".
" Do you"?
" Your gonna say what I'm doing is wrong and I should let Kaldur live".
" That's not at all what I was gonna say. Kaldur needs to brought down and what your doing is fine. But if Jade get hurts your dead".
" Got it. Do you...".
" No we don't mind". Wally said " You go take of Kaldur we'll watch Dick".
" Thanks".

Renegade stepped out of zeta tubes and headed straight to Wayne Enterprises where Chesire already was.
" What do you want". Chesire asked
" How would you like to help me kill Kaldur".
" You want to kill Kaldur? Didn't know you had it in you".
" Are you gonna help me or not".
" You have yourself a deal".
Chesire and Renegade shook hands and went separate ways.
" Do you think he's gonna do it". Wally asked " Kill Kaldur".
" Why wouldn't he? He's almost done it before so yes and that bastard deserves it".
Wally nervously shifted and couldn't believe how far down hill the plan was going. It was supposed to be simply.
Jason works as Aqaulad's partner for a few months and that was it. Nobody was supposed to get captured and hurt this bad as Dick had.
" Roy". Dick said weakly as he opened his eyes
" Hey little bird". Roy replied " How you feel".
" Like I've been tortured for thirty five days".
" Your gonna be okay. We'll make sure of it".
" It wasn't Kaldur. It was Deathstroke".
Wally and Roy glanced at each other and were about to ask more questions only for Dick to fall back asleep.
" This is gonna be hell".
" Knowing Dick after two weeks he's gonna be up".
" I don't doubt it".
Ten days later
" DICK"! Damien shouted as he entered the watchtower and saw his brother gone. " IM GONNA KILL YOU"!
" IS THAT A CHALLENGE"! Dick shouted back from a distant and laughed
" DICK"!
" DAMIEN"!
Damien growled and heard the zeta tubes announce Dick's departure. He was about to follow until he saw his charts.
Dick had cleared himself and Damien wondered why until he remembered. Mal was assigning the team a mission today.
" Hell no". Damien said and called Mal who wasn't answering " Damn it"!
Damien tried two more times before he got Mal to answer.
" What's up Gade".
" Please tell me you didn't send Wing out".
" Yeah he just left with the team why? He wasn't cleared was he".
" No that little...ugh"!
Damien called Nightwing after he hung up with Mal and the answer he got was cheerful.
" Hello Gade". Nightwing said and Renegade could literally hear the smile in his voice.
" What are you thinking"!
" I'm cleared so I'm with the team on a mission. If it makes you feel any better Red Arrow and Kid Flash here. Gotta go bye"!
" Don't you dare...! Hang up on me".
Damien hung up and ran a hand through his hair. What if Dick gets hurt even more? What if he gets kidnapped again?
Dick hadn't even talked to Black Canary yet and he had sprung back into action without a second thought. He was a bat alright.
" Be safe little wing". Damien whispered before calling Chesire.
" Still nothing". Chesire said on the other side " No sign of Deathstroke, Aqualad, Manta, or Aqaulad's partner Scar".
" Thanks for looking".
" How's bird brain".
" That bird brain escaped with your husband on a mission".
" At least he's protected. Gotta go Lian's crying".
Chesire hug up and Damien jumped as he felt a hand on his shoulder. It was Barry.
" He left didn't he". Barry said
" Yup".
" Went with the team".
" Of course".
" Your furious".
" I'm gonna kill him".
" I figured. Honestly Damien you were the same way".
" No I wasn't".
" Believe it or not kid you were. You kidnapped by the Joker when you were fifteen and what did you do? Four days later you snuck out of here and went with the titans east".
" I...It's different".
" Is it? You had a traumatic experience and what did you do? You jumped right back in while still hurt against Bruce's orders. You wanted to shake it off and what did you wanna do"?
" I wanted to do my job".
" Exactly the same as Dick. Your both like you father Damien. He's gonna be fine. You were".
Damien watched Barry walk away and repeated his last words " He's gonna be fine. He's gonna be fine".
" Your not gonna be fine are you". Red Arrow asked
" I'm fine". Wing snapped " For the hundredth time everyone I'm fine"!
" Were worried about you". Kid Flash said
" Why because I was tortured for thirty days?! I escaped because of Scar and I've recovered! So drop it"!
" Wait a second Scar? Kladur's partner helped you escape"? Wally said
" Got the video feed".
Wing tossed a chip to KF who played it on his watch. Everyone else watched and couldn't believe it. Scar had actually saved Wing.
" Not today". Scar said and quickly released Shadow who fell. " Listen to me I'm getting you out of here. Take these and say you stabbed me while I was off guard".
" Why are you helping me". Shadow wheezed
" Let's just say I had a younger brother once. Now go".
Shadow weakly nodded and saw Scar stab himself.
" Thank you". Shadow said and ran out
" He had a brother once". Arsenal asked
" Guess so. I guess even criminals have hearts". KF said and looked at Artemis and Superboy.
" Does Gade know your here"? Wonder Girl asked
" Just called him. He said be careful and be safe". Wing replied with a smirk
" He said the opposite". RA mumbled earning an elbow to the ribs along with a glare.
" Your gonna be dead when we get back you know". KF said
" It'll be worth it plus I had to get out of there. My job was waiting for me. The uniform calling my name".
Red Arrow rolled his eyes and the only thing that was really on his mind was how to protect his younger brother.
