Disclaimer: I do not own Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
Midway on the endless journey, when we seem to stand still
We heave a deep sigh
I almost grasped it, but it left me again
But now I'm not afraid of anything anymore
The strong bond that connects our hearts
Won't ever dissolve
We kept searching for and made our way
To the Period at this place
The warmth filled with love races through my body
My memories will never disappear again...
I'll definitely fulfill our promise and bring you along
(Holding) overflowing (dreams) wishes, I let everything ride on my song
Without averting my eyes from the reality
Give me the courage to confront it
Turning sorrow and anger into strength
Destiny is right by my side
Beyond where I head toward, look
There's a sparkling world
This cheering that shakes me
Won't ever betray me
We live on together for our future's sake
In the Period at this place
The truth is at our fingertips!
Hours had passed, That damn clanging was getting on Misery's last nerve. It caused her ears to ring.
"Stop him Alphonse! It's Morse code!" Heinkel called through the walls causing Misery's eyes to widen. She slapped herself in the forehead.
"Stupid! You-" She broke off as the confinement exploded, well not the whole thing but a hole was blown right through it.
"Hey. Thank you for coming to get me, Kimblee. I appreciate it." Pride said as he walked out, Misery laying on the floor inside the confinement, winded.
"Yeah, I'm here. But Please don't give me any extra work to do." Misery didn't even get a chance to lift a finger, Yumi fought her way to the surface in the blink of an eye. His voice...
"I'm sorry about all the trouble." Pride said with a laugh as he scratched the back of his head. "I won't let my guard down again."
She stayed inside, under cover, paying no mind to the argument outside between Pride and Al. She didn't give a shit about them. All she cared about, was Kimblee. And seeing him die.
She could hear Heinkel trying to talk Al out of saving him. She smirked. "Now's my chance." She darted out from cover, taking Kimblee and Pride by surprise, she disappeared and landed by Al. "I'll take it from her kid." She focused her energy into the air and lifted the chimera up, using the shadows to take him a safe distance away. She then turned to Al. "Take this." She said, handing him the philosopher stone that Kimblee had dropped the last time they had fought.
"Yumi...why do you have that?"
"I got it from the chimera's after Kimblee nearly killed them in the mines." She explained.
"A philosopher stone...with this we may actually have a chance at winning. But..."
"Its your only option, Al." She said, forcing it into his hands. "Do whatever you want to Pride. But Kimblee's mine, got it?" Al nodded. She got to her feet and dusted off her skirt.
"This dust cloud is a nuisance." Kimblee said, irritated. "Shall I blow it away with a blast?"
"No. The three of them are trapped somewhere in the cloud. Misery isn't strong enough to lift either of them, and without his legs, how can Alphonse possibly escape." No sooner than Pride had finished talking, there was a huge red electrical blast which knocked Kimblee's hat off of his head. Al and Yumi slowly made their way towards the two, Al's metallic footsteps echoing around them.
"Well, what do you know. They aren't exactly running." Kimblee observed with a grin. "Good! There you two are. Very well done, at turning the tables, Misery, no. Yumi Yatsuki." She walked ahead of Al slightly and came to a stop, the wind blowing her hair and skirt in the wind. Her head was lowered slightly with her eyes closed and she slowly looked up and her eyes shot open, glowing blue slightly as she stared challengingly at them.
Al tossed the Philosopher stone up into the air and caught it my sweeping his hand through the air. "A philosopher stone." Kimblee observed.
"But where did he find one?" Pride cursed. Yumi grinned before she sent a spurt of water at Kimblee's face, making his head soaking wet.
"Maybe you should stop concerning your pretty little head about him and start worrying about what you should really be concerned about." She suggested with a smirk. Not giving him a chance to reply, she lunged forward and knocked him back with her guns in hand. He grinned and flipped around mid air, sending an explosion her way. She brought her arms up to block it and landed lightly on her feet. "You;re going to have to do better than that!" She said with a grin as she slammed her hands against the ground causing the earth to split under his feet.
Kimblee glanced down the crack to see lava streaming like a river under the earth. "Impressive." He raised his voice over the sound of Al and Pride's fight as he jumped to the side, away from the crack.
"Can I ask you a question?"
"The two of us are here, two state alchemist's prepared to do anything, prepared to burn in order to get what we want. So, yeah, ask your question. But just know, it better be a good question." She narrowed her eyes at him. "Because it'll be the last one you'll ever ask."
"Why do you want to see me dead so badly?"
"Good question." She muttered. "Well, it's really not so complicated. You "disposed of" as you put it, somebody very important to me. You did the same thing to Scar's family and turned him into a murderer. You drove me to becoming like you. You've asked your question. Now I ask mine. Why wouldn't I want you dead."
"Yes, but how can you hope to save everyone, when you;re so hell bent on killing me?" She narrowed her eyes.
"Those my only two options? Seeing you dead, or saving everyone? What about the possibility of me killing you now, and then saving everyone?" She questioned.
"...There is a final option, you know." She looked up at him.
"Oh?"
"You don't save everyone. And you don't kill me. You die here." He grinned, showing the philosopher stone in between his teeth causing her to gasp and take a involuntary step back. He dropped to the ground, pressing his hands to the earth causing it to explode in her face, sending her flying. Before she got a chance to try to use something to retaliate her set off another explosion, sending her back the way she had come. He smirked and set off a final explosion that sent her crashing into the ground several feet away.
"I love that sound." She heard Kimblee say in the distance. She tried to get up but found that she was bleeding and she had her foot caught in the earth. "There's nothing more beautiful than the sounds of two strong souls colliding against each other in battle."
"I assure you, Misery is still close by. She will not have wandered far."
"Yumi..."
"Do you remember what we discussed!? The plan!?" She raised her voice in fury gaining the attention of the two psychopaths. Kimblee and Pride headed towards her, Pride smirking as he readied his tendrils while Kimblee narrowed his eyes slightly as he watched her every move.
Misery sighed. "Alright, kid. You win."
"Let's do this." Yumi growled out before she jumped to her feet, moving herself into a ready stance. "You two wanna know what kind of power I wield? How far I'm willing to go? You;re about to find out."
"Wait." Pride said as Kimblee started to move to attack her. "I want to see what she is planning."
She pulled out her bracelets and smiled slightly as she examined them. She pulled loose a specific charm from each bracelet before she tossed the charms up into the air, watching them carefully. Purple electrical alchemical light shone between the two charm, shooting out from one charm and hitting the other, connecting the two. It seemed to pull them closer and closer together until they connected.
"Is that it?" Kimblee questioned causing her to grin. She stepped back, allowing the now connected charms to fall to the ground in front of her. The moment they hit the ground, it shone brightly in a dark grey color. A transmutation circle appeared underneath the charm causing her to smirk. She threw her bracelets in the air swiftly and pulled out one of her guns, shooting at the bracelets before slipping it back into the holder at her waist.
The chains fell to the ground, clattering loudly at Kimblee's feet. The charms however. They remained in the air. The first set of charms to react were the set that had the red x's on them. a red electrical alchemical reaction brought them close together, exactly like the first set. Another set of charms did the same thing, this time the alchemical reaction was blue. The same thing happened with the other two, the alchemical reactions were grey and finally brown. They all fell to the ground around her causing her to grin some more.
She let her hand hover over each of them as she stepped outside of the circle causing transmutation circle to appear under each one.
She walked over to one of the circle and squeezed her right eyes shut causing a tear to roll down her face. She caught it on her finger and held it over the circle, allowing it to drop down in the middle of the circle. This activated the transmutation circle. A big water geyser shot up, not spreading, not lessening, just shot up, staying well within the bounds of the circle causing her to grin triumphantly.
She slowly walked over to another circle close by. She dug her nail into her hand. Hard. At thin line of blood appeared on her hand, rolling down her fingers and off of her hand, the drops of blood landing in the middle of the circle. This caused a giant flame to appear, hovering there in the air above the circle. She grinned triumphantly again and smirked over her shoulder at the very confused homunculus.
She headed over to another one and frowned slightly before she spun around, turning away from the set of circles and reared back, curving her fingers slightly before she slammed her hand down onto the earth, her fingers going under the earth before she ripped her hand out, sending a big piece of earth flying into the transmutation circle where it floated there.
She grinned before she headed over to the transmutation circle in between the water geyser and the chunk of earth. She slowly bent down to it's level and whistled into it, breathing deeply against the transmutation circle. The wind swirled around and around before it all gathered inside the transmutation circle. She grinned and took a step back right before a miniature tornado appeared, floating directly above the transmutation circle.
She bent down to the level of the last remaining circle, the one closest to Pride and Kimblee. She smirked slightly as she heard Pride's gasp of realization. "We have to stop her!" He exclaimed before he sent a shadowy tendril directly at her. She smirked and jumped away from it, causing the tendril to hit the last remaining transmutation circle. The tendril was sucked into the transmutation circle and all was silent before the tendril turned into a big black bird made from the shadows. It perched there on a branch made from shadows, hovering above the transmutation circle like all the others.
She pointed a hand towards the tornado, causing it to shoot out of its place to hover in her hand. She then pointed with her free hand at the chunk of earth causing it to zoom into her hand. She grinned and clapped her hands together, causing it to form a giant dark brown tornado with several bits of earth swirling around it.
She took it and cast it up into the sky where it floated, not doing anything, just floated there. She then abruptly pointed at the flame with one hand causing it to hover above her palm. She smirked over at Kimblee. "Prepared to burn." She said with a wicked grin before she pointed at the water geyser, causing it to float into her hand. she point with the hand that had the geyser in it to the tornado causing the water to evaporate from her palm and join the tornado/earth mixture, water rippling at the base of the tornado. She smirked before she sent the flame up there to join the other three elements, causing the tornado to change completely, fire whirling around the tornado turning it bright orange.
She turned to the raven and held out her hand, fingers pressed together to create a platform. The bird landed on her fingers, the shadows leaking off it before the shadows surround her whole hand. She pointed her hand at the wind/earth/fire/water mixture causing the whole tornado to turn black and purple before it came to hover in front of her. "Your up, Misery." She quietly.
"Okay." Misery took control and grinned slightly. She put two fingers in her mouth and whistled, long and loud and high pitched. There was a moment of silence before a elegant raven swooped down from the mountains and landed on her arm. She gently stroked it with one finger before she abruptly pulled a tail feather out of it. She sent the bird off without so much as a goodbye and stood in front of the wind/earth/water/fire/shadow mix and let the feather fall into the mixture. The tornado twitched with electric alchemical power before it surrounded her, driving her on the ground on her knees, hidden from view.
She cried out in pain, her nails scrabbling at the dirt. Her hair felt so damp to her. She could feel the fire on her skin, like it was burning her from the inside out. The wind whipped and whirled her hair around. It felt like the earth would give way under her at any minute. Her shadow seemed to whirl around, dancing in the air. She looked up at the tornado and could see feathers whirling around in it's mix now.
She screamed as a sudden pain pierced her back, like it was being split open. She stared down at her hand and saw that her nails were growing longer and sharper, no longer simple nails, no. Claws.
The tornado eventually died down, making her visible again. Kimblee and Pride tried to get a good look at her when suddenly, wings opened up from her back. She slowly got to her feet, bringing one leg up slightly before she slammed it on the ground, causing cracks in the earth. She brought both hands up and gathered her shoulder length hair together to cast it over her shoulder. The moment her fingers left her hair it seemed to grow, become even blacker, and land, now down to her middle back.
"What the-" Kimblee broke off as he head whipped up swiftly. She slowly turned her head towards him and opened her eyes. This alarmed both Kimblee and Pride. Up until this point both of her eyes were either blue, signifying Yumi, or purple, signifying Misery. Now, though? Her right eye was blue. And her left eye?
It was purple.
The promise that should never have been made,
Will try to steal our future yet again today.
Even if I gain the things that I wanted,
I honestly, still am not able to smile at all.
The pouring tears are not from weakness or regret,
It is born from the shards of all the pain.
No matter how time goes, fate goes along,
I know that there is only one thing, that is truly sure to me.
Thinking to myself, and being lost in this moment for so long,
I am, going to move forward.
The switch of my heart's landmine that I have wanted isn't off,
I want to change this future, so please see this with a common melody
I am SO happy I got to put this scene into this chapter! Please let me know what you guys think! I've been planning this since last July! I had so much fun writing it!
Anyway, I'll try to update again today, I know a lot in one day lol, but I dunno if I will or not, I might listen to some Homestuck music and give my brain a break.
