Chapter 38

*The Graduation Party*

*Sam's POV*

Carly's house was packed with people. I mean what can you expect with a 9 people joint party. Grant it we all decided to do it because we all wanted to be together on grad night. Our parents went all out they had a pot luck for food and bought a shit load of sparkling cider.

Each set of parents took turns doing toast for us. Then we danced and danced. However, I got freaked out when the old people started a soul train line, more so when my dad did the snake down it.

I needed to breath so I snuck out onto the fire escape.

"Hey," I heard come from behind me. I knew the voice so I didn't turn around. Freddie eventually made his way next to me.

"It was getting hot in there." I said.

"Yeah," He said back. "So we graduated today."

"No shit Sherlock, I was there remember." I said back pushing into his arm.

"Look Sam," He said. "I've been meaning to talk to you."

"Yeah," I said turning to face him.

"I heard about you going out for a spot at University of Washington." He said.

"Yeah, I had my audition last month." I said.

"I know, Carly told me." He said. "And I was there…"

I smiled at him. I touched the side of his face. "I thought that was you." I said.

"I was… am really proud of you Sam. I know that took a lot of guts." He said. I shrugged my shoulders it wasn't that bad, but who am I to interrupt him telling me how great I am.

"I'm sorry for everything Sam. You were right I got angry and I took it way too far and I used it as an excuse to act the way I acted all year long. Sam you deserve so much better than what I showed you this semester, and I wasted too much time away from you. I don't want to waste anymore." He said I could tell he wanted to move closer, but at the same time he didn't want to push the boundaries. "I just hope you can forgive me. I was dick."

"You were," I said in agreement. "But, it wasn't all your fault. Freddie, I'm not used to so many good things happening to me the way they have. It freaked me out, and I started doing little things like listening to Jonah. I never meant to hurt you. I just didn't think you understood me. I forgot that I can talk to you about anything." I said.

"You were right though I wasn't listening to you. I pushed you too hard. I just wanted you to have it all." He said.

"I know that now." I said. "And, I shouldn't have held everything that happened over your head." Before either of us could say another word I leaned in and kissed him passionately. It took forever for us to pull away from each other. When we did Freddie caressed my cheek.

"I know that we're a piece of work. Fighting is our thing, and sometimes we're going to want different things. But, one thing that will never change is the way I fell about you Sam. And, I will take a lifetime to prove that to you." He said.

"That won't be necessary, you had me at I'm sorry." I said back. "Can we start over, try this again."

Freddie's smile faltered. "I would love that, but there's something you should know…" He started.

"There you are, wait are you two back together?" Carly said sticking her head out of the window and taking in the scene, but quickly changed the subject. "Never mind we'll talk about that later. Our parents said if we don't tell them our plans now, they aren't paying for shit."

"My mom said shit?" Freddie asked.

"Well no, Sam's mom did, but they all agreed." She said when we didn't make any sudden movements she got a little more forceful. "They meant today, so move your asses."

Me and Freddie followed her back into her apartment.

All the rest of our friends were lined up and ready to make our announcement. Me, Freddie, and Carly made our way to the line.

"Okay, so as you all know we all made a pact that we would not discuss our college plans with each other, and that sort of leaked to you parents because some of you all are friends and we didn't want you all to spill the beans either." Carly said.

"Which I think is just absurd." Marissa started, but everyone in the room shushed her. "I was just saying.

"As I was saying," Carly continued. "We will now take turns starting with Gibby and say what we're going to school for and where." She nodded her head towards Gibby and he started.

"Hi, I'm Gibby,"

"We know," I said already irritated.

"Sam it's not your turn." He said back. "As I was saying before I was rudely interrupted, I'm Gibby and I will be going to UCLA studying Business and Management." HE finished everyone clapped and he stepped back into lap.

Next Brad stepped out. "I will be going to University of Texas on a full football scholarship and majoring in physical education."

"I will be attending Yale, and majoring in journalism." Wendy said. She nailed it right on the head.

Tasha stepped up and blew a kiss at Gibby. "I actually received a contract to model oversees." Everyone stared at her with sad eyes, while Brad patted Gibby on the back. "While doing that, they agreed to pay for my schooling which I will be attending The Fashion Program in Milan, Italy." She looked back at all of us. We knew she was going to be the furthest away. The tears started forming in her eyes. "I'm going to miss you guys."

We paused there and all surrounded her in a group hug.

After we went back to our spots it was Wesley and Jessica's turn. I know this had been killing her the last few months. She and Wesley had just gotten together now they could be pulled apart.

Wes took a deep breath as he held Jessica's hand. "Guess I'll go first." He said bringing her hand to his mouth to kiss it. "I've chosen Berkley where I will be majoring in music."

Jessica eyes were wide. "Shut up," She said. We all looked at the two of them in confusion. "Is that seriously where you going?" She asked.

"Um, it took a while to decide, but yeah. I think they will offer me the best education." He said.

"No way, I'm going to be at Stanford." She stated excitedly. "We're only going to be an hour away from each other." She stated jumping into his arms.

In good fashion we all booed at them and threw plastic cups their way. "Hey, we followed the rules. We didn't know we would end up that close to each other." Wesley said with a smile.

"What are you majoring in Jessica?" I asked.

"Oh, pre-law," She said basically undressing Wesley with her eyes. Seeing that they weren't moving anytime soon, Brad grabbed them and pushed them back into line.

Carly stepped up next. "So, I have chosen NYU where I will major in Media and Communication." She said with a smile. It was Freddie's turn now, I didn't even realize we had been holding hands until he let go.

He turned and looked at me with a challenged smile. "So um, as you know as valedictorian I received a full scholarship to any college of my choice. I chose MIT." Everyone had assumed that's were he was going. So, even I wasn't surprised by the choice, it was the next thing that got me. "Also, um I was recommended for their leadership program, it's a two month program that involves me spending the summer on campus. It will help with the engineering program, and look great on resumes. I found out two weeks ago I got in." He finished and looked over at me.

His mom was the only one who was clapping, because unlike everyone else she didn't catch the fact that I felt like the wind had been knocked out of me. At the same time I was happy for him. I clapped in support prompting everyone else to.

He backed back into the line and smiled at me before mouthing thank you. I smiled as much as I could and stepped up.

"Finally," I heard my mom said. It was killing them not knowing what happened at the audition.

"So as most of you know I auditioned for school a few weeks back." I started. "I was offered a spot at Cambridge, UCLA, on spot."

"What about University of Washington?" Roy shouted out.

"Dad," I said with a look that screamed shut up. "Okay, I did meet with U of W, and although they think I did amazing, there were some concerns; my record being one of them." I said to them.

"No to mention the head of the department is such a prick." I said. Everyone looked at me in pity.

"Sorry Sam, I'm sorry." Carly said putting her arm around me. "I know how much you wanted to get into the program."

"Wait, who said I didn't get in?" I asked causing everyone to look at me with confusion.

"But, you just said…" She started.

"I said they had concerns, but after him venting about those concerns he said that he would be a fool not to offer me a spot." I said.

"So you accepted than." James said.

"I told them I had to think about it. Like I said before dude was a prick." I said back going over to the snack table and getting food. I could tell everyone was getting pissy and anxious… I loved it.

"Okay, so you still haven't chosen?" James said.

"Sam, what the hell?" My mom said after he said. "You're playing with an education we weren't sure you were going to even get. What the hell is wrong with you?"

"Calm the hell down Pam, I chose." I said.

"Sam do not call your mother by her first name." My other three parents said. Yeah, sometimes this can be weird.

"If you chose Sam, than quit playing around and tell us." Freddie said.

"Oh but playing with you guys emotions is so much fun." I said back.

"Sam, you tell us now or so help me God I will…" Mom said.

"Okay, okay, well after the Prick sent me an email the other day and offered me a partial scholarship I couldn't refuse." I said. My parents stood there with their mouths wide open before breaking out in the victorious cheer.

"You got offered a scholarship honey; that's amazing." My dad said pulling me into a hug with a kiss on my forehead.

"Yeah, it comes with some stipulations I can't drop below a 3.5 GPA, and I have to take some classes this summer to catch up. Dakota offered to stay on and help me like a tutor, but yeah." I said.

"We are so proud of you." Shelia said pulling me into a hug next. "We're proud of all of you." She said speaking up for everyone in attendance. They all clapped their hands.

Carly's dad held his cup up. "Raise your glass for these wonderful students. Like Sam's step mom said we are so proud of all of you and wish you the best of luck in the upcoming years."

The parents cheered as the toast ended, but my mom frowned in disgust as she finished her drink. "Alright, that's enough. Is this a celebration or what? Honey go get the real stuff out of the car please." She said gesturing to the empty cider bottle.

"Hell yes, I'm going to go get my beer." Freddie's grandpa said. Carly's dad shrugged his shoulder and went to a cabinet bringing out some hard liquor his self.

"ONLY for those over 21," He made clear when everyone in the room started to cheer, which caused all of us to groaned. I didn't have time to complain too much because as soon as Freddie had a chance he grabbed my hand and took me away.

We went back out onto the fire escape. I sat down on the stairs as he looked out over the rail.

"So, that's what you were trying to tell me before Carly came out here?" I finally asked.

He turned and faced me. He slowly nodded his head. "For the record when I agreed to go I didn't think we would get back together." He said. "I'm sorry."

I shook my head and walked towards him. When I was in reach I pulled him down into a kiss. "Freddie don't ever apologize for doing what's best for your dream." I said. "I know how important it is to you to go to MIT. Hell it's all you ever talked about when we were together."

"But, us…" He said back holding my hand against his face.

"We are going to be okay." I said.

"Are you sure about that?" He asked.

"If this school year hasn't taught me anything else, it's taught me that we can survive anything. After everything that happened this year, here we are." I said he nodded in agreement.

"You're right. I mean we've done it before and we were fine, what's four years of it." He said. I kissed him again to shut him up. "Wow, I missed this."

"So, when do you leave?" I asked. Leaning against him as he wrapped his arms around me.

"Yeah, that's the hard part, um I have to be there in two days." He said. I quickly backed up.

"In two days, Freddie…" I started, but he cut me off.

"I know." He said. "Like I said I didn't know this was going to happen."

"Well you'll be back in August right?" I said back.

"Um yeah kind of…" He started. "See the program ends at the end of July, but orientation is at the beginning of July. Then…" He started.

"Move in is the following week…" I said sitting down on the stairs again. "So when you comeback it's just to help your mom move you in."

"I'm sorry Sam." He said coming and kneeling in front of me.

I forced myself to smile and kissed him. "That means we only have tonight." I said back touching his face. He nodded his head before grabbing my hand and placing a kiss on my wrist.

"Well… let's get out of here then," I said standing up.

"I'm sorry, but isn't this our graduation party?" He asked.

"It was up until our parents… well except for yours decided to get plastered." I said back. "Besides it's our first and last night together, so do you honestly want to spend it around all of our family and friends."

He sat there for a few seconds and then stood up. "Well where are we going to go?" He asked.

"I got the perfect place, let's go." I said grabbing his hand and going back inside. We skip the good byes, knowing my mom she was probably already buzzed anyways.

30 minutes later we pulled up in front of what felt like an unfamiliar home. Just a plain one story that was hardly ever used; I told Freddie to wait in the car. I went up to the house to make sure the key was in the same place it used to be in once I found it. I waved Freddie to come up.

"Are we breaking and entering?" He asked.

"Calm down Freddie, this is my mother's best friends house. She is hardly ever here because she's a traveler. However, she told me that I can use it anytime I want. I just feel uncomfortable being here by myself." I said opening the door to the small house.

"Wow," He said coming in. I put the keys on the table and locked the door behind me.

"So, it's not much a tour" I said. "Her bedroom is all the way in the back. There's two bathrooms; one in her room and the other first door on the right. Kitchen is through there. Living room, dining room, and my room is that first door on the left."

Before he could say another word I grabbed his hand and led him to my room. I led him inside and closed the door behind me; locking it just in case.

I turned and Freddie was standing right there behind me. He moved my hair off of my shoulders and placed a kiss on each one. I wanted to just jump on him after all it had been a really long time, but this was our last night together for a really long time.

I could tell Freddie wanted to take his time. We had all night after all.

Freddie wrapped his arms behind my back; pulling me into a long antsy kiss. All the while he begin undoing the zipper on my dress, slowly pulling it down teasing me all the way. Finally my dress was off I stepped out of it and jumped up into his arms. He took me over to the bed and laid me down. I scooted up to the top of the bed, and watched him undress himself.

He climbed on top of me and just stared. "What are you thinking right now?" I asked wrapping my bare legs around him.

"How much I missed you and how much I love you." He said. I smiled and pulled him into a heated kiss. He slowly begin to kiss every part of my body. He started at my forehead and he moved downward; committing every body part to memory.

I removed my bra as he removed my panties. When he got to my feet he threw my panties to the side and began kissing back up. He stopped at my thighs and opened them wide pulling me back to the edge of the bed. He placed kisses on the inside of each thigh before burying his tongue inside of me.

I moaned out in pleasure. Freddie was taking his time. He was great at teasing that's for damn sure. My body began to rock against him as I was being pushed closer to my climax. Freddie was determined to get me there. He continued to move his tongue even after I told him I couldn't take anymore. I felt my walls tightening up and screamed his name as I climaxed.

Freddie climbed back up on top of me. "Tonight is your night," He whispered in my ear. I was about to argue that point, because he was the one leaving, but he kissed me before I could argue. "It's been seven months Sam. The only thing I want to hear from you is moaning and my name."

I smiled as he slowly pushed inside of me. He didn't move. "Damn Sam, I forgot how tight you are." He said causing me to laugh.

"Take all the time you need Freddie." I said. He didn't need much time, it was as if me saying that he been just the thing he needed to me. He slowly pumped in and out of me. It wasn't rushed at all. He was milking me for everything I had, and I was loving it.

I forgot how well he knew me. HE knew every spot that drove me crazy every trick that made me into a ticking time bomb that could explode at any moment.

He removed himself and flipped me onto my side. He took my top leg and placed it behind him. This was actually something new. He pushed back inside me and picked up his pace. I turned my head and looked him in his eyes. I tried to say something, but when I opened my mouth only a moan escaped.

I settled for just mouthing "I love you" to him. With that notion he flipped us over and had me on top of him this time. I rocked against him barley hanging on. I was over the moon. Freddie paused us for a moment to adjust himself against the headboard so he could see me better. Once again I could tell he was committing me to memory, but him looking at me with so much love and lust was making it hard for me to continue I felt myself tightening as we stared in each others eyes, and finally I climaxed for my second time.

Freddie followed behind me with one final push. I collapsed on top of him. I wasn't in a hurry to move away from no matter how sticky we were with sweat. I kissed his shoulder and made my way up to his neck, then to his lips. I kissed him softly trying not to stir him up too much.

He smiled at me. "Sorry that was quicker than usual." he stated with a laugh. I followed his laugh with one of my own.

"It's cool. It has been awhile after all." I said back. My smile disappeared.

"What's wrong?" He asked moving my sweat covered hair of my face.

"Nothing it's just that, I'm going to miss you so much." I said as tears began to form.

"Hey," He said. "Hey, hey, we are going to commit to this. I will make sure any chance I get to see you that I can. I'm going to check your computer tomorrow, after spending some time with my mom, to make sure everything is up to date, and we will video chat and text all day long."

I nodded my head as I began to cry. He kissed my tears. "Hey, you can't cry after sex it looks pretty bad." I couldn't help but to laugh.

"Stop making me laugh this is serious Freddie," I said finally climbing off of him and laying down. I pulled the covers that we managed to knock off the bed over me. Freddie climbed in next to me and looked at me.

"I know, but if we continue to talk about it I'm not sure if I'll be able to force myself on that plane tomorrow night." He said.

"Can we just lay here, and for now pretend you don't have to leave." I said scooting closer to him. "Just pretend that this is a perfect world and that we didn't waste seven months on nonsense."

"Anything for you princess," He said pulling me close to him and wrapping his arms around me. He placed tiny kisses all over my bare back. Before I knew it we had fallen asleep.

*The Next Morning*

"Sam… Sam…" I heard as I stirred in my sleep. I opened my eyes as wide as I could for long enough to see Freddie fully dressed at the side of my bed.

"Mmh, what time is it?" I asked.

He laughed. "It's about 5 in the morning." He answered.

"5 in the morning are you crazy?" I asked.

"I got to get home. My mom has been calling all night, and my grandparents flight is in two hours." He said back.

"Okay," I said sitting up making sure my body stayed covered in the sheets. "Just give me a second to get dressed and we can go." I said, but Freddie pushed me back down on to the bed.

"No, no, no, no, no, I called a cab. You're tired I can tell. Just drop my car off at the Bushwell when you pick yours up." He said placing his keys on the nightstand.

"But Freddie," I whined. "I won't see you again after this. Your mother won't let you go anywhere where she is not today."

"Yes she will, I'm coming by your house as soon as I have a chance. I promise, and tonight you are coming to the airport with us." He said.

"Um, how about we say bye at my house? Me in a car with your mom after you explain to her that you and Emma are not getting back together, and we're back together will have disastrous consequences." I said with a slight laugh.

"Fine you don't have to come to the airport, but who said anything about saying bye?" He asked leaning in and kissing me. "I'm never saying bye to you again Sam."

"I know," I said back.

"Okay, go back to sleep. I'll see you later." He finished. I nodded my head and he leaned back in and placed another kiss on my lips. He rubbed my face and stood to go.

I felt a part of me leave that room that morning, but I knew it wasn't forever.
