"Exposure?" Ed asked.
"That's right. You got lucky you were close to getting frostbite. It was a good idea to wrap your arm with that scarf. It helped." The doctor stated.
"I just wish I would've thought of it sooner. I should've asked Winry if their was any maintenance tricks or anything specifically for the north. Maybe I should look into basic automail repairs..." Renee muttered to herself as she switched around the warm cloth on Ed's arm. As he talked to the doctor, Renee picked up Ed's coat and jacket, helping him put it on. Ed began mouthing off to Buccaneer and the doctor.
"Ed shut up already." Renee huffed.
"Hello little red runt." The General stated, as she opened the door to the room they were in. Both women's words caused Ed to nearly fall to his knees. Al then screamed about the hair on his helmet.
"It looks awful." Al whined. Renee grabbed his helmet forcefully and clapped her hands, taking the bit of hair in between them, a small flash of light and then placed the helmet back on the shoulders of the armor. The hair wasn't as long as before but it was straightened out and not as jagged as a few seconds ago. She flashed the palm of her glove at Ed, to show him a simple transmutation circle when she noticed his hint of confusion.
"I swear you two. One day I'm just going to get way to fed up." Renee sighed, putting her hands on her hips. They went and talked with Olivier about what was going on. They were hesitant on telling her about their bodies.
"Just tell her you idiots. Or I can." Renee spat at them. They both looked at Renee surprised, she hadn't acted like this since they first met, but they both decided to just ignore it, at least for now. They told Olivier everything they thought was prevalent. Olivier told them that she would find May, for her knowledge on Alkahestry.
They walked with Major Miles, as he showed them to their job. Renee almost couldn't help herself from smiling at the story Miles told of Olivier. She had quickly become someone Renee looked up to. Miles continued to tell them of the north and of their law, 'Survival of the fittest.' The north held all of Renee's beliefs.
Their job was to scrape of icicles. Ed had some trouble with it, as did Renee. She jumped up to reach the icicles, knowing that she had to do something. Falman showed up and showed them the development section of Briggs. They kept looking around. When they reached the lowest section the ground started to rumble. The ground began to collapse in one area and a large man climbed out. From the marks on his body he was obviously a Homunculus. Buccaneer shot at Ed's feet, accusing them of being spies again.
"Get out of the way!" Renee yelled, doing her best to pull Ed and Al out of the way of a metal pipe the homunculus had thrown. They all jumped to the side. Renee followed Ed and Al, as the Homunculus made his way onto an elevator. Renee helped them with tank fuel on Olivier's command. When they got it to Gate 8, Buccaneer flipped him over and Falman, Ed, Al and Renee poured the tank fuel onto him. When the elevator door opened, Renee pulled Ed and Al to the side, out of the way of the turret. They shot at him, pushing him at the door. Falman began shooting at the icicles, and Ed and Al launched forward, kicking him over the edge. Just as expected he fell into the snow with a thud, his body not moving.
"Okay. Take them away." Olivier ordered. Al, Falman, Ed and Renee were all handcuffed. Buccaneer dragged Falman and Ed off, and they allowed Al and Renee to just walk.
