Buffy was at work, doing papers, bored off of her head when her boss asked her to go on a field trip instead of Kate, who was still on a leave because she got shot. She literally jumped off of her chair, all excited, and said: "Oh my god, really? Wow, that's… thanks!"

She was allowed to take a weapon and she ran to a car with a few of her colleagues and she was so thrilled.

"So, what's going on? Who are we catching?"

"A guy who shot Kate was spotted at the airport. We need to take him, and even shoot if he fights the arrest, he's dangerous."

Buffy felt all the blood leave her face, she couldn't believe what she was hearing. They couldn't arrest, or worse, shoot Angel. The guy missinterpreted the look on her face and he said:

"Don't worry, kid, we'll protect you. Nothing's gonna happen."

"Ye-yeah…"-Buffy stammered, trying to figure out what to do. Her first field trip ever and she was supposed to arrest the man who saved her ass more than once, and oh, he was her girlfriend's brother. It was the worst scenario ever.

She texted Angel: "You have to get out of the airport. I'm on my way there with a team, they want to arrest you. Or shoot you. You have to disappear. Please, hurry!"

Her hands were trembling while she was texting and she just hoped Angel would read the text in time.

Then she texted Faith to tell her what was going on: "Babe, I'm on my way to the airport with the team, they wanna arrest Angel for shooting Kate. I've texted him, but I don't know if he saw the message. We have to stop them!"

"Holy fuck!"-Faith read Buffy's text and jumped off of her chair, and pulled Cordy with her, forgetting about their food or the bill. The waitress ran after them, and Faith threw twenty bucks at her and ran out.

"Faith, what's going on? Is Buffy ok?"-Cordy's heart was pounding loudly in her chest, she got seriously worried.

"Angel's in trouble, we gotta help him! Taxi!"-Faith stopped a cab and told the cabby to take them to the airport as fast as possible.

Faith explained everything and Cordy just hoped everything would turn out fine. She just hoped that neither Buffy nor Faith would do something stupid to protect Angel. Faith was too worried to talk, she was quiet throughout the ride, except when she yelled at her phone because Angel wasn't answering her calls.

He was just about to check in when the security guards stopped him, askded him to come with them and handcuffed him. He didn't fight them, he didn't want to attract more attention, and a part of him thought that he actually deserved to get arrested.

He wasn't expecting to see his sister there, or Buffy, who burst in with her team a moment after Faith and Cordelia.

"ANGEL!"-Faith yelled and Buffy tried to think fast, she just wanted to be able to help Angel now that he needed her.

Buffy and Faith looked at each other, panic in their eyes and Buffy's colleagues were about to pull him away, to the car and the station, when Buffy pulled out her gun and said: "No. You can't arrest him. He saved my life! And he accidentally shot Kate, you have to stop this! Let him go!"

Her hands were trembling, she didn't want to use the gun,but she couldn't let them arrest Angel. He wasn't the bad guy.

"Buffy, stay out of this! It's fine!"-Angel said, looking into her eyes. He looked calm, and Buffy couldn't understand him at all.

Faith had no idea what to do, she froze. Her girlfriend was standing in front of her brother, her gun pointed at the cops she was working with. They pulled their guns out too and they were three against one.

"B…. baby, put the gun down…"-Faith said, looking at Buffy and Angel, who kept nodding at her.

Cordy wished she could help somehow, but she also just froze, her heart stuck in her throat.

Buffy's hands were trembling so bad, she held a gun with both hands to keep it from falling.

"We're supposed to be catching the bad guys, not Angel! He saved me, and he accidentally shot Kate, don't you fuckin' understand?!"-Buffy yelled, staring into her own team, wishing she could do this some other way.

"BUFFY, JUST PUT THE DAMN GUN DOWN!"-Angel yelled at her, and she yelled: "IT'S NOT FUCKIN' FAIR, ANGEL! WHY DID YOU COME BACK HERE ANYWAY?!"

Tears were clouding her vision and she didn't even see Faith come closer to her. "Buffy… baby, come on, put the gun down. He came back to… to give me… this."

Faith took the ring out of her pocket and Buffy looked at it, confused. Angel always wore it. "Guys, put the guns down! Don't shoot her, I'm going with you!"-Angel said and Buffy burst into tears and dropped the gun.

Faith hugged her tightly, kissed her forehead and said: "It's ok, babe, you'll see Angel will be out in no time when everything gets cleared up."

"Summers, you're fired. Consider yourself lucky we're not arresting you."-her boss warned her, looking really disappointed, and he took her gun away.

She couldn't care less about being fired, she felt horrible when she saw them take Angel away. He didn't deserve to be treated like that.

Cordy got closer to Buffy and hugged her friend, still not believing she was actually gonna shoot to protect Angel.

"Buffy… look at me…"-Faith said and held Buffy's face in her hands.

"Faith… I'm sorry I couldn't help."-Buffy whispered, crying so hard her body shook.

"Don't be silly… I was afraid you'd get hurt. My little silly thing."-Faith said and kissed Buffy passionately. Cordy moved away and said:

"I'm going to order us something to drink. We have to calm down a little before we go home."

"Thanks, Cordy."-said Faith and kissed Buffy again and pulled her up from the floor. She stayed on her knees, held the ring and looked at Buffy, her eyes shining with tears.

"Faith?"-Buffy whispered. It looked like Faith was about to propose, and her heart started pounding like mad.

"Buffy… Buffy Anne Summers, you crazy little blondie who almost got herself killed to save my brother, will you marry me and make me the happiest girl in the world?"

Buffy stared at Faith, her face blank and her mouth a bit open, and she passed out. There was too much excitement for her at once.

"Holy shit! B!"-Faith yelled and shook Buffy, not knowing if she should laugh or cry. There probably weren't many people in the world who could say that they proposed to their girlfriend after witnessing something that could have ended tragically, and had their girlfriend pass out without saying 'yes' first.

Cordy saw Buffy pass out and she thought fast, grabbed a glass of water from the nearest table and poured it over Buffy's face.

Buffy opened her eyes slowly and started coughing cause some water got in her nose, and she asked:"What…."

"I asked you to marry me and you passed out. It wasn't a reaction I was looking for, but hey… Guess I made an impression!"-Faith tried to joke, but she was in fact so afraid that Buffy would say no.

Faith was still kneeling and Buffy got up, pulling Faith with her. She kissed her with all she had and said:

"Of course I'll marry you! And this proposal is gonna be a legendary story that will be told to different generations."-Buffy smiled and kissed a very stunned Faith,who barely kissed her back.

Then she placed a ring on her hand and said: "I love you, Buffy Anne Summers."

"I love you too, Faith Lehane!"

They kissed again and Cordy squeaked: "Oh my god, we need champagne now, not tea!"

She hugged both Buffy and Faith and pulled them to the bar, where people started congratulating them, still trying to process everything that had just happened.

The three girls opened a bottle of champagne, poured themselves a glass and shared the rest with people in the bar.

"I'm so glad I was here for this!"-Cordy said and smiled.

Buffy still felt bad about Angel, so she got serious, but Faith warned her: "Angel would hate to see you all serious now that you should be happy. It's all he wants for you."

"You're right. Sorry…"-Buffy said and smiled to Faith, who kissed her passionately and said:

"Let's go home, we need to tell the good news to Giles and Jenny and call your parents and the Scoobies."

"Great idea. Geez, I can't think much. It's like my brain can only process things like 'fire bad, tree pretty'."

"You probably hit your head too hard when you passed out. Oh, no, wait, you're blonde."-Faith teased and Buffy shot back:

"Watch it, Lehane, if you're good I'll drive you so crazy later you won't know your name… and then you'll see who's blonde."

"I'll be good."-Faith grinned, making a totally angelic face and Buffy and Cordy burst out laughing.

"You're so whipped, Faith…"-Cordy teased her, and Faith said:

"I may be love's bitch, but at least I'm woman enough to admit it. Besides, you'd be whipped too if you had Buffy in bed."

"I'll be having nightmares for the rest of my life thanks to the two of you."-Cordy said and smiled when her friends kissed again.

It was time to go home and tell the news to Giles and Jenny…
