While everyone was outside Jen and Michael saw Sky sitting down on the chair and went by him.
"Hey Sky, sorry I kept you waiting." Jen said.
"It's okay." Sky responded.
"We're really sorry you stayed out here alone little guy." Michael said. "Your not mad at us are you?"
"No." Sky answered. "Who we're those people that were here?"
"Remember what I told you yesterday, about my friend who died." Jen said.
"Yeah." Sky said.
"Well that was his friend and his wife." Jen explained.
"I remember him, he was the one who got me off the road and talked to uncle Michael." Sky said.
"Yeah, he is." Michael said.
"Look, why don't you go with your grandfather for a minute, okay." Jen said.
"Okay." Sky said and left.
"I know you don't want him to know about his father yet, so you rather make up a friend so he won't be so curious." Michael said.
"How else am I going to explain it to him, besides he was asking a lot of questions yesterday." Jen said.
"What did ask you?" Michael asked.
"Well I asked if he liked his grandfather and he told me yes and asked me if he had more family, I told him he did and that he only had one son who was a friend of mine, without mentioning it was his father I was telling him about, then he asked where he was I told him he died a while ago, and explained that his grandfather missed his son a lot and also asked me if I missed my friend too and I did tell him I missed him so much." Jen explained.
"He's going to find out pretty soon, if you keep leaving a bit of hints on him." Michael said.
"As long as he doesn't ask then everything will be okay." Jen said.
"I hope so." Michael said.
"Come on let's go inside." Jen said as she and her brother both went inside along with the rest.
As night was falling, everyone was leaving the Collins mansion and they all said bye to Mr. Collins and started walking their way back to the clock tower. When they arrived, everyone was tired and were about to go to sleep.
"What a day." Jen said.
"I'll say, I have to carry your son on the way back while he falls asleep on my shoulder." Michael said.
"Can you blame him?" Jen asked.
"No. I guess not." Michael asked.
"Give him to me." Jen said as Michael handed Sky to his sister.
"Well goodnight." Michael said.
"Good night." Jen responded and placed her son on the bed.
"At least we don't have to hide anymore." Alex said from behind.
"I guess your right, I was afraid on what they would think." Jen said.
"Be lucky, Michael talked to Eric." Alex said.
"I was afraid they we're going to argue and fight each other, but thankfully they didn't." Jen said.
"That's true, just be glad everything worked out well." Alex said.
"Yeah, your right." Jen said. "Though what I'm more concerned is if Sky ever asks about his father, I just don't know how I'm going to tell him."
"You still think he will?" Alex asked.
"Yes. Michael did tell me if Sky ever asks, that's when it's the right time." Jen answered.
"He's right if Sky does start to be curious, he is eventually going to ask." Alex said.
"I know, we've only been here for almost a week and he's starting to ask questions." Jen explained.
"He has?" Alex asked.
"Yes, like yesterday, when we came back from Mr. Collins house, I asked Sky if he liked his grandfather and he did, he even asked if he had more family." Jen said.
"What did you tell him?" Alex asked.
"I told him he had one son, without mentioning Wes, his father I was telling him a bit about, and I only told him he was a friend of mine, died a while ago, and explained that his grandfather missed his son a lot, I even told him I missed my friend too and that I missed him so much." Jen answered. "I know Wes has been dead for five years, but I will never forget the one person who I would always love." Jen felt tears falling from her eyes, Alex then hugged her to try and make her feel better.
"I know this hasn't been easy for you, but be glad your here to the one place you would always remember Wes." Alex said.
"Your right, I'm glad to be back here." Jen responded.
"Get some rest, you look tired." Alex said.
"I know, all I need is a really long sleep." Jen said.
"Night." Alex said.
"Night." Jen responded and slept next to her son and fell asleep.
The Next Day
When arriving at the Collins mansion, they we're let in by Philips and went out the back door to see Mr. Collins outside along with Eric and Taylor with their kids and said hi to them.
"Eric. Taylor. Hi." Jen said.
"Hey, how have you been?" Eric asked.
"I've been good." Jen responded. "How have you both been?"
"We've been good." Eric answered.
"I don't believe we introduced ourselves properly yesterday, I'm Alex." Alex said putting his hand out to Eric.
"Eric." Eric responded and shook his hand.
"I'm Taylor, his wife." Taylor said.
"Nice to meet you." Alex said shaking Taylor's hand.
"And I'm Michael, Jen's brother." Michael said.
"I know who you are, and I didn't get the chance to thank you yesterday for talking to my husband." Taylor said shaking Michael's hand.
"It was the least I can do." Michael said.
"Will leave you talking with them will be with the rest." Alex said as him and Michael went to hang with the others.
"I see you brought your kids." Jen said.
"Yeah, their fraternal twins." Taylor said.
"You want to meet them?" Eric asked.
"Sure, let me just get my son." Jen answered, and went to go get Sky, while Eric and Taylor went to get their kids. "Sky can you come with me?" Sky nodded and went with his mother, when they walked towards Eric and Taylor with their kids, Sky hid behind Jen. "It's okay, don't be shy, go ahead and say hi." Sky walked closer to Eric and Taylor.
"Hi." Sky said.
"Hi." Eric responded.
"I remember you, you were the one who got me off the road." Sky said.
"Yeah, that would be me." Eric said. "My name is Eric."
"My name is Sky." Sky responded.
"It's nice to meet you Sky, my name is Taylor." Taylor said.
"Hi Taylor." Sky said.
"And Jen, these are our kids Tyler and Megan." Taylor said. "Say hi you two."
"Hi it's nice to meet you two." Jen said.
"I remember you, you were the one who helped me." Megan said.
"Yes I am, and this is my son Sky." Jen responded.
"Hi Sky, my name is Megan." Megan said.
"My name is Tyler." Tyler said.
"Hi." Sky responded.
"Why don't you all go and play for a while does that sound okay with you two?" Eric asked his kids and nodded.
"Go ahead and play okay." Jen said to her son.
"Okay." Sky responded, and went to go play with Tyler and Megan.
"How old is he?" Taylor asked.
"He's four." Jen answered. "How old are they?"
"Four too." Taylor answered.
"You know your son does look like Wes." Eric said.
"Yeah, he does, when he was born and held him in my arms then looked at him I knew he would look like Wes." Jen said.
"The name you picked for him sounds okay." Taylor said.
"His eyes reminded me of Wes, he has the same eye color." Jen explained.
"Did you give him Wes's last name?" Eric asked.
"No. I gave him my last name, I did want to, but if Wes and I were married I would have." Jen answered.
"You do have a point in that." Eric said. "What about when you filled out his birth certificate, you didn't put the name of the father?"
"I did actually, Alex wanted to put his name on it, I was going to tell him it wasn't a good idea, but the doctor came in and I didn't get a chance to tell him so I let him sign it." Jen answered.
"But he's not even your son's father." Eric said.
"I know, he was just being a friend, besides if it wasn't for him, I still would have been passed out on the floor and would have still made it to the hospital, and he was even there when Sky was born, and even started to grow close to him, but that was when he was a baby, Sky kind of doesn't remember him much as years went by, though he starting to get to know him a little better." Jen explained.
"He does sound like he is a good friend to you." Eric said.
"Eric, maybe you should get to know him more, why don't you go talk to him." Taylor said.
"I guess I will." Eric said and walked to where Alex was at. "Hey."
"Hey." Alex responded.
"How are you?" Eric asked.
"I've been good." Alex answered. "How about you?"
"Been alright." Eric responded.
"How's everything with you, your wife, and kids?" Alex asked.
"It's been good." Eric answered. "Can I ask you something?"
"Sure. Anything." Alex responded.
"How long have you and Jen known each other?" Eric asked.
"For quite a while." Alex answered.
"Wes did tell me Jen was engaged to you before she met him." Eric said.
"True. We kind of started of as friends, when I first met her, she started of as a rookie at Time Force, I helped her out in becoming a Time Force officer, and she finally did, then we started dating." Alex explained.
"I know the rest, how did you feel when she broke off the engagement?" Eric asked.
"A bit sad, because she didn't love me anymore and I knew her feelings for Wes were strong and decided we should be friends, I was okay with it." Alex answered.
"What about you letting her stay here?" Eric asked.
"She was happy here, and I wanted here to be happy." Alex answered.
"Too bad she didn't stay here for long after Wes died." Eric said.
"I know what you mean, we all tried many ways helping her move on, it was really hard for her, weeks when she came back though I was away at that time, she told me she was pregnant and it was Wes's baby, I didn't know what to say I was a little surprised, we all helped her out." Alex said.
"But you helped her out the most didn't you?" Eric asked.
"Yeah, when she was about to have her son, I was at my apartment, I tried calling her to see if was doing okay, she didn't answer, I had a feeling that something wasn't right, so I rushed out and drove to her house, rang the doorbell, no answer, then checked the back door, looked through the window, I saw her passed out on the floor, I tried to get in, but the door was locked, I found a rock smashed the window and unlocked the door then rushed to her to see if she was alright, when she woke up I drove her to the hospital, many hours later Sky was born." Alex explained.
"Jen told me you we're there when he was born." Eric said.
"The doctor thought I was the father I had no choice to be in there with her." Alex said.
"And you even signed your name on his birth certificate." Eric said.
"I was only being a friend and I know I'm not his father." Alex said.
"Jen has to tell him somehow, when he asks." Eric said.
"I know, he's only kid and he's not ready to know just now." Alex said.
"I understand what you mean." Eric said.
"Enough about me, why don't you tell me about yourself a little." Alex said.
"Alright, well where do I begin." Eric said, and started telling Alex about himself. While Michael sat and talked with Mr. Collins for a while.
"I've been sober for at least seven years now, and ever sine then I haven't touched a single drink." Michael said.
"You must have had a really hard life." Mr. Collins said.
"I did, I was glad that my dad and I are close again." Michael said.
"Sort of reminds me how Wes and I were." Mr. Collins said.
"I know the story, you and your son had a trouble relationship, but you made him choose his own path." Michael said.
"How much has Jen told you?" Mr. Collins asked.
"Pretty much everything." Michael answered, when Jen came from behind.
"Hey, I see you two have been talking." Jen said when Michael and Mr. Collins turned around.
"We were until you came along." Michael said.
"Very funny." Jen said, when they saw Sky playing with Tyler and Megan.
"You know he reminds me of Wes when he was a kid." Mr. Collins said.
"I can't help how much he's starting to resemble him." Jen said.
"It's too soon to let him know about his father, but be glad he hasn't asked." Michael said.
"I know I just can't stop thinking how I'm going to tell him." Jen said.
"Look, try not to worry so much, he won't ask yet, he hasn't started to be a little questioned about anything, just stay calm." Michael said.
"Your right, I shouldn't." Jen responded.
"Well come on why don't we go inside, it's going to get dark soon." Mr. Collins said, as everyone went inside. A couple of hours night had fallen as everyone was headed home, Jen and the rest said bye to Eric and Taylor, and headed their way back to the clock tower.
"What a day." Katie said.
"Your telling me." Trip said.
"I don't know about you guys, but we need a really long sleep." Lucas said.
"Agree." both Trip and Katie said.
"My shoulder is going to be hurting me in the morning." Michael said carrying Sky sleeping on his shoulder.
"At least he got himself tired out, while playing." Jen said.
"Why do I insist carrying him all the time whenever he gets tired." Michael said.
"Just put him on the bed and put ice on your shoulder." Jen said.
"Sure, no problem." Michael said and put Sky on the bed.
"What a really long day it's been." Alex said.
"Sure has." Jen responded. "Did you had great time?"
"Yeah, I did." Alex answered.
"What did you Eric talk about?" Jen asked.
"Not much, we just tried to get to know each other a little that's all." Alex answered.
"Well, that's a start." Jen said.
"What do you mean?" Alex asked.
"Once you get to know each other more, you'll start to become good friends, don't you think?" Jen explained.
"I guess your right." Alex said, both were quiet for a minute, and didn't know what else to say.
"Well we better get some sleep, it's been a really long day." Jen said.
"Yeah, your right." Alex responded. "Night."
"Night." Jen responded, and went to go to sleep.
"Ran out of words to say to him?" Michael asked, while he had ice on his shoulder.
"No, I was tired I didn't know what else to say to him." Jen answered.
"Sure, I understand." Michael said.
"It's not what you think." Jen said.
"I wasn't, but I'm not going to say it." Michael said.
"Michael, just go to sleep." Jen said.
"Okay, whatever you say." Michael said. "Good night."
"Night." Jen responded and laid in bed next to her son and fell asleep.
