disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter

warning: some brief violence

Hello again my lovelies! I finally wrote the next chapter. Its a bit short (a lot shorter than I usually write for this story), but I'm happy with it. There will be only one more chapter after this one! I am sad to know that this story is finally coming to an end, but I am so proud of myself. Most of all I am happy for all of you sticking with me through the whole thing.

Enough of me yapping, enjoy this chapter:

"Is this everyone?" Harry asked as he gazed around the gathered werewolves and vampires. Some of them were whispering to each other, some were shifting back and forth uncomfortably, and others were glaring at Harry. Overall there were about one hundred fifty people gathered around him. He wasn't nervous about being surrounded by so many creatures, Morven's pack was twice the size, it was odd to be an alpha starting with this size and he was actually nervous about having Draco nearby everyone. He was especially nervous at the prospect that someone might try something against his mate. To not only reassure himself, but also Draco, Harry squeezed his mate's shoulder and pulled him closer.

"Yes except for Remus and Sirius, but that's understandable," Draco answered. He set a level gaze onto those gathered. He still felt uneasy around some of the members because of the returning looks that were sent to him and the difficulty he faced with some. There were a few over the time Harry was in his coma that expressed their feelings about having to follow him or that he was mated to Harry. He even overheard one werewolf saying that she would kill Draco for rights to be Harry's mate. It made his stomach to turn that some people were that cruel to think like that when they were given a safe home and to be treated with kindness. Draco looked straight ahead as Harry lead him, Severus, and Lucius to the steps that were in front of the castle so that they were raised above the pack. Even with his growing belly, Draco portrayed a look of superiority and strength while looking down on the pack. It would not help Harry if he appeared to be afraid of everyone.

"Hello everyone," Harry started. He stood slightly in front of Draco and Lucius and Severus to show that he was going to be in charge of everything, but he did not have his wings out. He did not want to bring those out and use them unless it was completely necessary. "As you may know, my name is Harry Potter and I am the Alpha of this pack. Although I was incapacitated for a few months, it was my plan to bring you here after the battle regardless if it was under my command or my mate or my betas. I knew before the battle that many of you were turned against your will and then kept under extreme conditions because of the lack of a proper alpha who would promise to protect you and to keep you healthy. I am here to do that, but if for some reason you do not feel comfortable being part of my pack then you are welcome to leave."

"What makes you so special to hold both werewolves and vampires here?" a unfamiliar person asked from the middle of the crowd. There were murmurs following that let on that others agreed in wanting to know the answer.

"I was bitten by both a vampire and werewolf during a full moon and gained traits of both creatures. Normally vampires and werewolves cannot live together, but with an alpha of both genes it is possible to then bring harmony between the two races." Harry answered so far happy that no one straight away attacked him like he had anticipated.

"That's impossible. No one has ever survived the bite of both," another person said.

"Any other person, I would agree. But as both genes were trying to dominate my body, I was slowly killing myself. The alpha I trained under helped find a way for both genes to coexist within my blood and thus allowing my own power as alpha to reign over both."

"Prove you are both," a voice called, one that Harry did know as a year mate from Hogwarts. Blaise Zabini stood off to his right and was glaring at him with much loathing.

"Before I do, you must understand that the original species of vampires were gifted with wings," Harry saw that many did not believe him, but knew there was nothing he could do about that until he released his wings. He wanted to smirk as he heard gasps from the pack as he called forth the large leathery wings and he felt his fangs elongate further. "This is my true vampire form. For you werewolves, know that it is possible to turn outside of the full moon." With that Harry shifted into his large wolf form. He leaned into the touch of his mate on top of his head for a moment before changing back into his human form. "Any questions so far?"

"If you're supposed to be this great creature then why were you defeated by a simple wizard at the end of the battle?" Zabini asked. That was one question Harry wanted to avoid as it sparked others to begin murmuring again as many voiced their opinion that Harry was not a strong as he claimed to be.

"Is that a challenge against me, Zabini?" Harry asked. To have a challenge issued this early shocked him, but also it might actually be good. If he was able to dispel the doubts now, the transition to him looking over the pack would be easier. He watched as Zabini stepped forward, never lowering his gaze into Harry's eyes even when he growled lowly.

"Sure is *Alpha*," Zabini sneered, saying alpha with such contempt. Zabini pulled out his wand and trained it on Harry while he waited for the battle to start.

"Very well," Harry said. He turned and gave a kiss to Draco's forehead before pushing his mate back towards Lucius to be protected. Harry stepped down from the stairs and walked towards Zabini, without much thought Harry raised a circle for the fight to protect the others. He released his wings and braced himself, he wanted to smirk at Zabini for pulling out his wand to rely on his magic rather than fight for actual strength over the pack. "You will learn Zabini."

"I believe you have it backwards Potter," Zabini said before casting a spell wordlessly. The werewolf genes in Zabini had raised his magical ability, but thanks to being a Death Eater, Harry was able to predict which spell was being thrown at him before he even saw the color. He easily dodged the Cruico that was sent to him. Harry continued side-stepping and rolling out of the way of all the spells thrown at him. "Stop running you coward!" Zabini shouted.

"If you want any chance at winning, you'll have to do better than that Zabini," Harry said, goading the werewolf further. When Harry finally had enough of just avoiding the spellwork, he stepped directly in line of the next spellfire. He knew it would not actually harm him, but to avoid Draco having a panic Harry used his wings to block the spell instead. When he pulled his wings back and looked at Zabini, he finally did smirk this time when he saw how tired Zabini had become. "My turn?" Harry asked before sprinting forward. He nicked his fingers and called forth his bloodweapon as he advanced on Zabini. He blinded the werewolf with his control of the shadows before teasing him by attacking him with a single cut before moving away.

Harry had made sure the rest of the pack could see through the shadows to show them what exactly would happen to anyone who ever challenged him again. When Zabini fell to one knee after his continuous attacks, Harry released his weapons and shadows. Changing in his wolf-form, Harry rushed the fallen werewolf and knocked him onto his back and nip at his neck demanding submission. He only got off of Zabini when he turned his head to the side offering his neck. Harry stood up and changed back before roaring into Zabini's face. Harry stepped back and allowed for Zabini to stand up.

"Have anything else to say?" Harry snarled.

"Yeah, that I have no plan to follow you." Harry watched as Zabini ran off and our of sight.

"Anyone else?" Harry glared at everyone, and silently wishing someone would look back into his eyes. When no one did, Harry walked back up to where Draco waited for him, his face set hard in the presence of the fight also daring anyone to challenge him. Harry kissed him once on the lips and turned to everyone. "You will show respect to not only me, but also my mate, my betas and their mates. They are higher than you and demand your respect and submission to them, regardless if you are a dominant or submissive. The moon is almost upon us, everyone will gather here and greet the newest member of our pack. That's all." Harry dismissed everyone.

"That went better than expected," Lucius said, causing Severus to snort.

"It did, thank goodness," Harry said, pulling Draco into his arms and just holding him close. He stepped back and looked up to Lucius and Severus. "Will you tell Remus and Sirius to come downstairs so they are ready for the moon. It'll be in a few minutes?"

"Of course," Severus said, turning and entering the castle with Lucius following him. Harry sat down on the steps to wait for the moon and pulled Draco into his lap, tucking his mate's head under his chin.

"You alright?" Harry asked.

"Yes, are you? I didn't seem hit get a hit in, but I was nervous when you allowed that curse to hit your wings," Draco said as he turned to look at the black appendages behind his mate.

"I did it on purpose. Starting next week, I'm going to start training everyone in groups."

"Why in a week?" Draco asked.

"So they have time to get used to me. They may have backed down for now, but someone else in the pack may come forward and challenge me as they become accustomed to my presence. I'm something strange and new, so the pack is afraid of what might happened or change from when you took charge of everyone," Harry buried his nose into Draco's blond strands, taking in his scent. "Have I told you recently of how amazing you are?"

"You haven't, but it is nice to hear," Draco practically purred as Harry began to massage his back and shoulders while peppering his face with kisses. "Hm, why the sudden special treatment?"

"Because you're worth it. And I want you relaxed for the moon," Harry whispered in his mate's ear. "I love you."

"I love you too, bat-boy," Draco murmured as he relaxed even with the moon about to rise and it making his skin tight and itchy. Harry however stiffened at the name, it made him remember the dream he had while he was asleep. He couldn't remember it exactly, but it did pull hard at his heart and he wondered why the feeling was there. Harry and Draco looked up as they heard the pack gathered again in the front gardens and Lucius and Severus exited through the front doors.

"Everyone ready?" Harry asked. When he received nods and murmurs of accord, he and Draco stood up and prepared for the change to take over their bodies. Harry never realized how much he missed the feeling of the moon and going through the change naturally like this. His skin tingle and pulled tight as it stretched and sprouted fur. He grinned as he felt the dull ache of his bones shifting and changing to give way to his wolf form. He looked over and saw his mate in his smaller form panting on the ground with exhaustion from the change. Even in this form it was clear that he was pregnant and it made his wolf extremely happy to see the bulge. He nuzzled into his Draco's side before turning to the pack.

Harry raised his head to the sky and howled, in joy over his mate and future cub and for his pack. All of the other werewolves joined in while the vampires stood around waiting for the reason they were asked to appear for the full moon. Suddenly the door to the castle opened and Sirius carefully stepped out carrying a small bundle with Moony following close behind. Sirius bent down and placed a small pup onto the ground before shifting into his animagus form and stood above his pup protectively.

Harry and Draco walked up to them first as the right of the alpha pair. They bowed respectively in front of the new parents before approaching the small pup who couldn't even open her eyes yet. Harry nuzzled into the small wolf who was smaller than one of his paws and licked the pup, making a promise to protect her. After Draco did the same, they stood to the side and allowed for the rest of the pack to greet the tiniest pup before the parents went back inside. When Harry knew that Sirius and Moony were safely tucked into the castle with Kallisto, he turned to Draco and pushed him over to Lucius and Severus to keep him here. Harry then turned to the pack and took off in a run, beginning his first hunt with his pack.
