Chapter 48: Heart Shattered

Slightly smirked when Peter led him towards a well deep in the forest. "You never cease to amaze me, Peter." He stated. "Outwitting the Evil Queen in less than a day? Impressive."

Peter shrugged. "She loves the boy. That makes her weak." He replied. "This is it. This is where we'll cast it. The ingredients?" He held out his hand and Slightly handed him a bag.

"When it's done, will they all be dead?" He asked.

Peter chuckled. "Worse. They'll be slaves to this new land we're making, with no idea who they once were. Death is final. Their suffering will be eternal."

Snow frowned. "Another curse? It's happening again?"

"Gold, this curse, is it gonna work like the last one?" Emma asked.

He shock his head. "The last one was created to service the Queen's wishes. This will be done per Pan's desire. I would count on something hellish."

"The curse was built to be unstoppable." Regina remembered. "There's nothing that can be done."

"Well, it is possible to stop it." The dark one said. "By using the scroll itself. It can only be undone by the person who used the scroll. That's you, Regina."

"What do I have to do?" She asked.

"You must destroy the scroll. Both your curse and his shall be ended, but know this there will be a price. A steep one."

"W-what do you suggest?"

"Instead of going to him, bring him to us with a spell. One that will return Pan and Henry to their own bodies."

Lily woke with a start, her head pounding as she heard voices from beside her.

"Are we missing something?" It was Slightly's voice.

Her eyes widened when she remembered what had happened. Pan was still alive.

"Yes." Henry's voice said, but it wasn't Henry. No. It was him.

"What is it?"

"Two things actually." Peter smirked. "The heart of a traitor and the heart of the thing I love most."

Lily bit her lip. 'Felix.'

Slightly didn't need to ask about the traitor, he already knew. "You mean your son's heart? Rumplestiltskin?"

He scoffed. "No, no. I never loved Rumple."

"Well, then whose heart do we need? Who do you love?" Slightly asked, confused. "Is it her?"

"Love can mean many things, Slightly. It doesn't just come from romance or family. It can also come from loyalty. Friendship. Only one person has always believed in Pan."

"That's me." The lost boy whispered.

"Don't be afraid." Peter smirked. "Be flattered."

"No, no, no, no, no!" Without hesitation, Pan reached into Slightly's chest and pulled out his heart and crushed it, allowing the dust to fall into the bubbling water.

Lily quietly tried fighting against her bonds, but Pan turned around, grinning. "There's no point in that, slave." he drawled. "You're not going anywhere."

"If I'm back in my own body, that means I'll have the scroll." Henry said, "I can bring it to you guys."

Rumple nodded. "Exactly right, Henry."

"Even you aren't powerful enough to cast such a spell." Regina sneered.

The dark one shrugged. "Well, given the proper tool, I could be."

There was a short silence, that was broken by none other than Tink. "The Black Fairy's wand one of the most powerful fairies that ever existed. Well-versed in dark magic. The Blue Fairy exiled before she did, she took her wand."

"I assume our dearly departed mother superior had it hidden at her residence." Rumple added.

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's hit the convent." David said.

"Can I come?" The ex-fairy asked. "I should pay my respects to Blue, after all."

Rumple nodded. "Then it's settled. The rest of us should get back to my shop and prepare Henry for the spell."

And so they split ways, but no one noticed as Felix ran into the forest, sensing his love was close.

"Why are you doing this? What did we ever do to you?" Lily whimpered.

Peter scoffed. "You and your pathetic family tried to stop me. And this is what you'll all get." He gestured to the curse he was creating in the well.

She bit her lip. "Look, I-I'll give you whatever you want. T-take me back to Neverland. I'll n-never try to run. I promise! Just let them go!"

"Lily no!" Felix's voice yelled as he stumbled threw the bushes towards them.

Peter grinned. "Just the person I wanted to see." He chuckled. "Glad you could make the show, Felix."

"Leave Lily alone." He growled angrily. "She's put up with you long enough."

Pan scoffed. "I don't think so." He frowned. "You put up with me longer. But don't worry, you won't have to for long."

"Felix go!" Lily shouted. "He's going to kill you!"

Peter smirked in her direction. "You're forgetting something, Lily." With a wave of his hand, there was a red heart in his hand; Felix's heart. "Even if he does run, it won't stop me from killing him." He squeezed slightly, causing Felix to grunt and fall to his knees.

"Felix!" If she hadn't been tied up, Lily would have ran to him. But she couldn't. "Pan, please don't! I'm begging you! Don't kill him! Please!"

He shrugged. "How else do you expect me to cast this curse?" He grinned, squeezing the heart harder.

"Felix!" Lily cried as he groaned loudly in pain. "Please, Pan... Don't do this."

"You doing okay, kid?" Emma asked Henry as they led him into the back room of Rumple's shop.

He sighed. "Yeah. I'm just ready to be me again."

"Not much longer now, Henry." His grandfather told him. "Not much longer. Once we have the wand, all will be as it should."

Hook, Tink, David and Neal made their way into Storybrooke's church, where the nuns had been attending a funeral.

"Sorry to interrupt, but we need your help." Neal said to the nuns surrounding their mother superior's dead body.

"With what?" One of them asked, frowning.

" The Black Fairy's wand is here." Tink told them, cutting to the chase. "We need it."

"We can never-"

"Yeah, it's a terrible, terrible thing. But what's coming is worse. Where is it?"

There was a loud noise coming from outside the church, confirming what the ex fairy just told them. "What the hell was that?"

"Pan's shadow." Hook breathed.

"What does it want?" The clueless nuns asked frightfully.

"The wand." He replied. "Run. Run! Run! Stay covered! Over there."

The nuns ran out of the church, leaving him, Tink, Neal and David to face the shadow alone.

The shadow shrieked. "So all we have to do is light the candle again, right?" David asked. "That's how you trapped it in Neverland?"

"Yeah." Neal replied. "But this time I say, we get rid of it for good."

"I'll draw its ire." Hook volunteered.

"Are you sure you want to do this?"

"If it's the only way to prevent this bloody curse from obliterating us all, then it's a risk I'm willing to take."

Tink frowned. "I thought you'd only risk your life for love or revenge?"

He chuckled. "One other important thing: me."

"Hey!" He yelled to the Shadow, who growled loudly. "Is that the best you've got?"

It swooped down and pushed him to the other side of the church, proving him wrong.

So he returned to where his 'friends' were sitting. "Can you trap it?"

"No, it's too high. We've got to get closer. And I can't fly up there. Tink-!"

"If you didn't notice, I don't have my wings." She snapped.

"But you have pixie dust."

She scoffed. "That doesn't work."

"No, no, no, Tink. You made it work once. You can do it again." David smiled.

And so Tink did it, she believed in herself, and flew up towards the shadow, trapping it in the coconut and threw it into the fire.

Killian smiled at her. "Look who's still a fairy."

Se chuckled. "Look who's still a pirate. You alright."

"Well, I lost a hand once. This is nothing." He smirked.

"For the record, I know why you risked your life back there and it wasn't for yourself or revenge." She stated. "It was for Emma."

His cheeks went slightly pink, but before he could reply, someone spoke from behind her. "Well done, Green."

"Blue!" Her eyes widened. "But you were-!

"Gone." She frowned. "I know. But when you killed the shadow, mine was returned and I was revived. Thank you." She whispered. "You finally believed in yourself, Green- um- Tinker Bell. Welcome back."

"I'm a fairy again?" Tink asked, smiling. "Even after I disobeyed all your rules?"

"I might've been overly strict." Blue chuckled. "You deserved your wings, Tinker Bell. And you have earned them back many times over."

"Thank you."

"As for the Black Fairy's wand." Blue sighed and handed it over. "Go. Save us all."

Lily's eyes brimmed with fresh tears when reality hit her; Pan wasn't going to listen to her... What did he care about love? Nothing. Hell, he killed his most loyal lost boy for some curse.

"L-Lily." Felix breathed weakly. "I-I will never stop loving you."

Her glassy eyes widened. "No. Felix don't talk to me as though you're going to die! I won't let you! Please!" She begged, turning to Pan. "Please don't do this!"

Peter chuckled. "Hurry up and say goodbye, then." He sneered.

"But I-!" She tried to protest, but she was cut off.

"Lily." Felix whispered. "I was going to die, sooner or later, anyway."

"Don't say that!" She cried. "I can't watch you die! I-I won't!"

He sighed. "Then close your eyes." He whispered.

"I don't know if I can." She admitted. "Wh-what if I never see you a-again?"

He stroked her cheek comfortingly. "It'll be fine." He reassured her.

"No it won't." She sobbed. "I-I can't live without you."

He sighed. "You'll do just fine. You're strong, Lily... You always have been."

Lily sniffed. "Th-that's because I had you." She whimpered. "You said you'd never leave me."

Felix closed his eyes momentarily. "I won't. I'll always be here." He placed his hand on the middle of her chest, where her heart is.

"But it's not the same... I-I'll never see you again..." She repeated. "I-I can't let him kill you... I just can't."

He placed a soft kiss on her cheek and whispered into her ear. "I believe in you."

He looked up at Pan and sighed. "Do it."

"NO! Wait! Please!" Lily wailed.

"I love you, Lily."

Her heart seemed to shatter into a million pieces as Pan crushed her lover's heart into dust. "FELIX!" She yelled. "No, no, no, no, no! Felix!" She screeched.

Pan threw the dust into the well and hauled Lily to her feet. "Hush." He whispered softly, as though trying to comfort her, but she broke out of his grip and knelt beside Felix.

She pressed her lips to his ear. "I will never stop loving you." She promised, but he didn't reply.
