Bit of a scary one, you have been warned...
She was back, back in the cave again, a small light seemed to like the pathway around here, though she couldn't tell where it was coming from, it created a halo of light that left the rest of the cave in complete darkness.
Lyna had been here before, twice in real life, but many times in her dreams. She took a cautious step forward, listening carefully to the scuttling sounds that she had grown used to hearing every time she visited this place; she never seen what made the nose. She continued to walk forwards, her hands gripping herself tightly. She looked down as the halo of light followed her, continuing to light up the pathways surrounding her.
She wasn't in her armour here, instead she wore the same soft woollen clothes she used to wear when she was younger, and the brown fabric was light and allowed her to feel the slight chill that seemed to hang in the air.
She walked through the maze of darken pathways, knowing that no matter where she went, it would always lead to the same place. In her dream she had tried going in different direction, hoping that it would somehow change the dream, change the out-come, but it never did, even when she refused to move she still somehow ended up in the same room, with the same mirror.
She walked further and further in to the cave, doing her best to ignore the scratching and scuffling noise around her. The light around her disappeared, Lyna felt her breath quicken as the noise grew louder and closer until the mirror appeared a few feet in front of her, and the noise ceased.
Taking a shuddering breath in an attempt to calm herself, she walked towards the mirror, the only light coming from the surface of the glass. Again the mirror showed herself, her eyes darker, her skin slightly grey. Her reflection smiled a unnatural smile with her lips were almost purple lips; mouth filled with too many teeth black stained teeth.
A loud bang sounded behind her, but she didn't look away, she didn't want too, knew that once she looked away from her image on the mirror that Tamlen would appear. Another loud bang sounded, her reflected smile had disappeared now as it watched her, its face growing angry as she refused to play along. Another bang, this time closer, as her reflection snared and spit at her.
Still she didn't turn around; the bangs grew louder and closer, sounding quicker one after another. Lyna shook with the effort not to turn around, her body trembling with fear and adrenalin as her breathing grew laboured. One bang sounded after another.
Bang
Bang
Bang
BANG!
Then it stopped, everything went silent. Lyna stood unsure of what to do, her muscles clenched with anticipation. Her reflection in the mirror stopped snarling at her and suddenly began to smile again, showing off the rotted flesh of its mouth.
Lyna felt confused for a moment, until she felt the air behind her move, she froze as her lungs seized up, her breath lodged in her throat. She heard the sound of a ragged breathing close to her ear, the smell of rotten flesh cause bile to rise in her throat. Lyna reflection in the mirror continued to smile, it raised its hand and gave her a small wave as it turned and walked away.
Lyna ran; she ran forwards, away from whatever was behind her, still refusing to look; though she heard the ear splitting sound it as it made after her. She ran away from the light and through the dark, blood roaring in her ears as she felt panic and adrenalin pump through her, urging her on.
She ran and screamed when she heard the sounds of the creature behind her; she could feel the tears stream down her face as she began to sob. She felt something from the dark reach out and abruptly grab on to her shoulder pulling her back, she struggled and screamed as more hands grabbed her, stopping her from moving, from running away. She was vaguely aware of someone speaking just before she felt a harsh slap across her face.
"LYNA! STOP IT'S NOT REAL!" shouted the voice, she knew that voice.
"Lyna stop! It's me, Neria, it's not real; look at me please!" Lyna opened her eyes not knowing when she had closed them, to see worried pale blue eyes staring at her. "Lyna its okay, you're safe." She whispered before she hugged her tight. They stayed that way until Lyna's shaking had subsided, and her breathing returned to normal.
"What- what is this place?" she asked.
"This is the fade, we meet a sloth demon in the tower and he locked us all away in the fade, but we're going to get out, I promise and we're going to fry that bastard too."
