Fairy Tail Next Generation

Chapter 48

Felix's POV

It's a beautiful day in Magnolia. Autumn was coming to an end and winter was arriving, a thin blanket of snow had already fallen over the town. This past month was full of yelling and screaming from Cali, because every time I thought it was a good idea to do something – I would rip my stitches. That's why I am so stinking happy today. My stitches have been taken out! I can move without help! I am free man again! WHOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO! I get to go on a job, run around, use magic, and get away from Cali! God, life is going to be so freaking awesome. I sped up my walk to a jog, then to a full on run. The excitement of today is just too much to act calm.

I busted through the guild door's minutes later. "GOODMORNING EVERYONE!" I yelled out to my guild mates.

"MORNING FELIX!" The entire guild called back. Fairy Tail is awesome like that. God I'm in a good mood.

"Glad to be out of your stitches, I see." A smiling Mira greeted me as I sat down at the bar. "Want some toast?"

"Yes please." I smiled back and Mira laughed. "What?"

"Planning on going on a job today?"

"Yep." I couldn't help it, and continued grinning like an idiot.

"Cali left with Gajeel on a job. She gave me a letter to give you before you leave." Mira pulled a folded piece of paper from her pocket. I took it, unsure of what it said. I unfolded it and began reading, hoping all the while that she didn't have messing handwriting. Reading is hard enough as it is.

Dumbass,

Don't be an idiot – not that you can really help it. Just because your stitches are out does not mean that you are fully recovered. You got stabbed in the fucking heart. Don't forget that. Meet Jase at the train station as 10 a.m. Jase claims it will be a "fun" job. Don't die, you Neanderthal.

-Cali Redfox

She has so much faith in me. She also has surprising cute handwriting, and a stupidly large vocabulary. It's almost ten already, and I'm sure Jase wouldn't pick out a job that could end with me almost dying. "Thanks for the toast Mira." I waved goodbye and headed out.

When I got to the train station, the train was beginning to leave. I had to sprint and jump on not to miss it. Taking a moment to breathe first, I then got up to look for Jase. I found him in one of the last carts staring out a window. "Hey, sorry I'm late."

Jase looked up at me and smiled that good old Jase smile. "No problem man, as long as you're okay."

"Cali forced you to take me didn't she?"

"Yep."

"Sorry about that." I sat down across from Jase and he took a moment to find his words.

"She just worries more than she would ever want us to know. As much as she loves beating on us, she flips when someone else beats on us. That's all." Jase smiled and went back to staring out the window. I kinda understand what he's saying. I just don't know what to think of her anymore. I guess she's just . . . her.

"So what's the job anyway?"

"We are going to help a guy pick up some girls." Why would he want to pick girls up? To see how much they weigh? "He lives just a few towns over. The guild Blue Pegasus is there, so I wonder why he made the request for Fairy Tail."

"What's the reward?"

"The request calls it 'a priceless gift of beauty'."

"What does that even mean?"

"I don't know, I'm mostly going on the job because Jellal is coming home tomorrow and that means Erza is going to force everyone into cleaning and preparation."

"Who is Jellal?"

"Stace's dad."

"Oh." Even though I don't know much about Erza, I've heard plenty stories from Mira. Helping some guy lift girls sounds a lot better than being her slave for a day. Jase seemed to be falling asleep and answering on auto-pilot. I should get some shut eye too, just in case this job is more tiring than it seems.

"That is the pinkest house I have ever seen."

"Agreed."

Jase and I had finally made it to the client's house, and oh my Jesus was it pink. I can't even imagine what the inside looks like. Jase knocked on the door. The door swung open and a man swaggered out in a suit. He had silver hair that was slicked back and purple eyes.

"Are you the handsome men here to fulfil my request?" He walked came close to us and inspected us. "Both of you are indeed good looking, well built, pretty eyes, strong jaws. But I must say, your clothing choices are horrid. Green eyes – you have so much going for you, why would you wear a ripped up shirt and a worn out vest? Blue eyes – a red striped shirt and jeans? Are you a five year old? Both of you are killing me. Didn't even bring suits right? Come inside, a makeover is clearly needed." A makeover? This job might just be worse than the damn circus. The client, Grant is his name apparently, dragged us into his house (shades of purple and blue) and took us to what looked like a fitting room in one of those expensive stores. He shoved Jase and me behind two different curtains. I kinda assumed there would be clothes in there, but when I looked around I didn't see any. Then I heard a clap and my body went up into a puff of pink smoke. When the smoke cleared out, I noticed that I was in a tuxedo. I turned to look at myself in the mirror for a better look. I was completely clean and my mess of hair was slicked back (but a small piece still stuck out in the front). The tuxedo had black slacks, a black blazer, black shoes, black bow tie, and white dress shirt. I hardly looked like my usual messy self, it was kind of disturbing how different I looked actually. "Are you boys done admiring your true appearance yet?" True appearance? Yeah right. I stepped out from behind the curtain and Grant nearly started to cry. "I was right, a classic tuxedo is perfect for your type."

"What's me ty-", I was about to ask what my type was when Jase stepped out from behind the curtain. Grant and I stood in awe of how he looked. His suit was a dark – almost black – blue blazer and slacks with a white dress shirt and a blue tie. Jase looked at us nervous.

"Beautiful. Both of you really. You two are my masterpieces." Grant began fanning himself to keep from tearing up. "Let's go get us some ladies." And with that, he led us to a night club. A club, mind you, that neither Jase nor I were old enough to get into without Grant's help. Now, the three of us sat at the bar. Grant began to brief us on our duty for the night. "I'm not as young as I used to be, and I feel that it is time to find a special someone. I need you guys to pull attention to yourselfs and separate all the young party girls from the classy ladies. Use your looks, be charming, and remember one rule – never start a cat fight. Good luck men."

"Felix," Jase started to talk to me as we walked away from the bar, "if all else fails, start complimenting them." Jase turned and almost ran from me. A group of girls went after him – and another group walked up to me. Oh god oh god oh god oh god. What do I do? Oh god oh god oh god.

"You're cute." One of them spoke up. "Dance with me?"

"Okay?"

"Alright! Come on!" The girl who called me cute grabbed my hand and dragged me over to the dance floor. The group of girl (is it getting bigger?) came too and they all started dancing. "Dance!" The girl never let go of my hand and now was spinning around with me in tow. I have no clue how to dance! These girls seem to just be flailing around, do I do that too? "God. You're boring for being so cute." Boring? BORING? Crap crap crap crap crap. Come on Felix – dance! I twirled the girl around and just started copying the moves the girls were pulling. Not every move though, I don't have the butt to do those ones.

I was finally starting to get the hang of it all when Jase jumped into my arms, only his boxers left of his clothing. The girls (I'm pretty sure this group is just a mob now) coed. "Help me. These girls are wild animals. Maximus never said that girls could get like this. Never."

"What happened?"

"They tore off my clothes! I'm so scared." Jase looked like he could cry. Hey wait, why am I still holding him? I dropped him to the floor and the girls literally jumped all over him. I couldn't even see him under the pile of screaming girls. I could understand what a few of them were yelling.

"I never thought I would meet a Fairy Tail mage!"

"Oh my god!"

"I love you Jase Fullbuster!"

"Can I have your Dad's lacrima number?"

"So hot!"

I should leave. Yes, Jase seems to have this under control. Leaving is the best option. I felt something grab my leg. "IS IT TRUE YOU'RE FROM FAIRY TAIL TOO?"

"Nope."

"LET'S FIND THE GUILD MARK!" No no no no no no no. Dammit Jase. I was pulled down into the swarm of psychotic females. Their breath stunk of alcohol. Now that I'm only in my underwear like Jase, it seems that they are just screaming and giggling. Crazy. All of them.

"Hey Jase?"

"Yeah Felix?"

"Would it be bad to use magic right now?"

"It would be self-defense."

"Definitely."

"Let's do this." The two of us jumped off the floor and stood back to back. I pulled dirt from the open windows and got ready. "On the count of three, okay?"

"One."

"Three!" Using my dirt as a hoverboard and Jase using water body, we sped out of the club at the speed of light.

"Freedom!"

"Whooooooo!" Jase and I chanted in our happiness. Then we realized that we left Grant in the club. "I'm not going back in."

"Well, I don't want to either."

"Who said either of you had to come get me?" Jase and I looked over and saw Grant outside of the club already, arm in arm with a woman around his age. "I got my pretty lady, who doesn't love a lady who can tend bar?" Wait. That's why he wanted us to distract the other girls. So he could sweet talk the bartender? Okay, I definitely prefer jobs that Cali takes me on now. And that's saying something.

"Grant, I hate to be rude but – may we have our clothes back?" Jase smiled at Grant and tried not to look too embarrassed.

"Yeah, it's kind of cold right now. Boxers don't provide much protection against the cold."

Grant smiled and clapped his hands. A pink puff of smoke surrounded us again and when we looked down, we were wearing clothes again. Just not our clothes. "Before you say anything, I burned your other clothes. You boys look much better like that." That bastard. I liked my ripped up clothes. Jase was wearing light tan cargo shorts and an unbuttoned blue Hawaiian shirt. I still had the same pants, but they were the right size and weren't dirty. Instead of my ripped dress shirt and vest, I now had a vest like thing instead. It was closed and had a short collar, and the front came down a little bit and had two thin pieces of brown hide crossed over that open part. Mostly a light brown leather, but there was a stripe of dark brown leather that went over the chest and opened part. I feel like I look like that Peter Pan guy in the book Cali read me. I have to admit though, neither of us look half bad. And it's really comfortable.

I turned to Grant. "What about our reward?"

"That is your reward! Bye-bye!" Grant picked up his lady and sprinted away from us. No. Why. Does. Stuff. Like. This. Always. Happen. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I'll kill the bastard god dammit. AHGHGHGHGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

"Let's go home." Jase placed a hand on my shoulder and smiled. I guess I'm not the only one who got cheated out of a reward tonight.

"Yeah. Aren't you mad?"

Jase began walking back to the train station. "Nope, we helped someone find love. Knowing that is reward enough."

This guy is way too nice for his own good.
