Well, back again for another chapter? Well, here you go! Honestly I still can't believe this story is doing so well. I'm glad that you guys are loving this story. Anyways, we should get started. Psycho-ass Governor has returned. Yay... I hope you guys sense my sarcasm. It's early because I'm going out tomorrow so I thought I'd do it early since I didn't upload last week. Disclaimer, I don't own The Walking Dead, just my ocs and plotlines.

Emma's Pov

A knock on the door brings our attemtion and Hayley stands up.

"Who is it?" Hayley questions. "What's going?" She adds. All that gunfire, I hope everyone is fine.

"It's me." The familiar gruff voice answers. "It's safe to come out." Daryl says and Hayley swings open the door as soon as he finished the sentence.

"Where's my brother?" Hayley questions him.

"In A." He answers and she takes off.

He sees me and I hug him, he kisses my head, his hands going over the baby bump.

"I missed ya." He says and I nod.

"Me too." I reply and kiss him passionately.

He pulls away and we lean our foreheads together, just enjoying the moment.

"How's Jamie?" I ask him a bit nervously.

"He's fine. He woke up. We're gonna see him in a minute." Daryl assures me and I nod. "He said he loves ya." He adds and I sob. "Why are ya crying?" He asks, concern in his voice and in his eyes, his blue eyes that I missed deeply.

"Relief." I remind him. "Hormones." I add on and he snorts. "Don't laugh." I pout and that makes him laugh even more.

"It's hard not to when you act like that." He pauses. "We need to talk to Rick about Carol." He tells me and I nod, a frown now coming onto my lips.

"Is she ok?" I question and he nods.

"Hershel says so. But we need to talk to Rick about it." Daryl explains and I nod.

"Let's go then." I urge and grab my pregnancy bag from the floor and walk off on a mission, Daryl grabs my hand and squeezes it. I really hope Carol is ok. She has become a very close friend of ours. Family actually; a sister.

I see Rick in the courtyard, when he catches my eye, I wave him over.

When Rickomes to us, he gives me a once over. "Glad to see you up and about." He says sincerely and I nod.

"Same with you. I've gotta ask ya, where's Carol?" I question and I see nervousness flash through his eyes but it goes away as fast as it came.

"Follow me." He tells me and Daryl before walking off, me and Daryl follow after him into C block. We get to the top and he runs a hand down his face. "I had to send her away. Because she killed Karen and David." He tells us and my jaw drops open. There is no way that Carol can kill two people that brutally.

"She wouldn't do that." I argue. No way she could have done it.

"I thought so too, but she admitted it. I had to send her away. She couldn't come back with me or Naomi." He admits and I frown. Couldn't he have waited and we could have a vote.

"Man, you couldn't have waited till we got back?" Daryl snaps at Rick. I don't blame him. We are pretty close friends with Carol, now she's been kicked out of the group.

"Until Tyreese got back?" Rick retorts in disbelief.

"I could've handled that." Daryl grumbles, pacing.

"Hey. Hey." Rick calls for Daryl's attention. "She killed two of our own. She couldn't be here. She's gonna be alright. She has a car, supplies, weapons. She's a survivor." Rick reminds us.

"Stop saying that like you don't believe it." Daryl hisses at him, his face going red with anger. Which is a sight I haven't seen for a long time. Perhaps maybe when we were on that rooftop, after finding Merle's hand. Or when he found out that we left Merle behind on that rooftop. Or when Shane insulted him on Hershel's farm, after we found out about the walkers in the barn. Either way, it has been a long time since I have seen him this angry.

"She did it. She said it was for us. That's how it was in her head. She wasn't sorry." Rick tells us and I frown. That doesn't sound like Carol.

"Man, that's her, but that ain't her. What are we supposed to do about those two girls?" Daryl asks. Oh, shit. Lizzie and Mika.

"I told her we'd look after them. I haven't told Tyreese yet. I don't know how he's gonna take it." Rick says sheepishly. Oh, god. I forgot about his reaction.

"Let's go find out." Daryl urges, but before he walks away, he looks at me. "You're not coming." He says with a pointed look and I nod in understanding.

"I know. I'm going to bring Jamie outside. Well, see if I can anyway. Good luck." I tell him and give him a quick peck on the lips and walk away. Well, waddle away. I feel like a damn penguin.

I manage to get to A block and I wait outside. Eventually the door opens and Adam, Ashley, Marley and Jamie step out. Jamie sees me and gives me a hug.

"Hey, it's ok. You're ok. I'm ok. The baby's fine." I assure him and he pulls away from me, a smile on his face.

"I thought I'd never see you again." He sobs and I smile softly at him.

"You won't get rid of me that easily." I joke and he laughs before we make our way outside.

Jamie sighs when the sun meets his skin.

"This feels good." He says and Adam laughs.

"It should." Adam replies before we walk further.

Boom!

The ground shakes bit Ashley balanaces me.

"Get inside!" Adam orders before he, Jamie and Marley run to where the explosion happened.

Ashley guides me to C block, where people were running out of. She grabs my pregnancy bag and packs some things.

"We need to be prepared." She voices and I nod in agreement.

"Yeah. What happens if we don't get to the bus, what happens then?" I question her. She runs a hand over her face in frustration before her face lights up with an idea.

"A cabin. Me and Adam always go there when we... want privacy." She finalises and I grimace. Didn't need to know that.

"How far away is it?" I question her. Interested.

"The cabin that is near where Woodbury is. It's that one. Don't worry. Adam will meet us there with everybody he can get." She explains and I nod. Not saying their names but trying to assure me that he will arrive with survivors. But the cabin with the dead dog, and the man Michonne killed when we first met her just so we can escape the house, feed him to the walkers. That was when we were rescuing Maggie and Glenn from the Governor.

Adam's Pov

When we get to the fence, we're met with a unwelcome sight. The Governor. Along with a few vehicles and a tank. Shit. Rick stands next to me and the rest that are well enough to fight, not enough like these strangers and that psycho.

"Rick! Come down here. We need to talk." He shouts and I glance at Rick.

He meets our eyes in worry before turning back to the Governor. "It's not up to me. There's a council now. They run this place." Rick responds, trying to stop this crazy man.

"Is Hershel on the council?" He questions and that's when I watch Hershel himself get dragged out of a vehicle and out on his knees. Beth and Maggie gasp at the sight of their father in binds and now on his knees. "What about Michonne? She on the council, too?" He questions and the same thing happens. She is put on her knees next to Hershel. Oh, fuck...

"I don't make decisions anymore." Rick tells him.

"You're making the decisions today, Rick. Come down here. Let's... Let's have that talk." The Governor says.

Rick looks at Carl. "We can do this." He assures him but Carl looks skeptical, I don't blame him. Right now two of our own are on their knees, their lives are on the line now. "Alright?" Rick asks and when Carl nods, Rick leaves, heding down to the fence that separates them.

"We can't take 'em all on." Daryl announces and I nod in agreement. "We'll go through the admin building, through the woods like we planned. We ain't got the numbers no more."

"When's the last time someone checked the stash on the bus?" Sasha asks, she glances at me.

"Day before the Big Spot." I answer ans they nod.

"We're running low on rations then." Tyreese concludes.

"We're lower now." Jamie reminds him and we nod.

"Yeah, we'll manage. Things go south, everyone heads for that bus. Let everybody know." Daryl explains. I look at Jamie, well, we all do. "You're the fastest, we need you to warn everyone." Daryl explains to his son and he nods before taking off pretty fast, since he was sick yesterday. Daryl looks at me. "Where's Emma?" He questions, his face going into worry about his wife and his unborn baby.

"Inside with Ashley. Told her to when the explosion hit." I explain to him and he nods at me in thanks.

"What if everybody doesn't know when things go bad?" Tyreese asks the question we've all been dreading to hear. There's that. There are gonna be a lot of injuries if things go bad, maybe a lot of deaths too.

"How long do we wait?" Marley adds.

"As long as we can." Daryl responds and I gulp. I hope everyone makes it.

Daryl carefully goes to the gun bins and moves it behind the tower, that thankfully is blocking the view from the Governor, so he doesn't see our guns. He hands me one with a clip, doing the same thing for Marley, Sasha, Tyreese, Hayley, Bob, Maggie, Beth, Naomi, Carl and Michael.

Hayley us about to leave with Carl and Daryl but I grab her wrist.

"When things go south, go to the bus, grab him as well." I tell her, nodding my head to Carl and she nods.

"I will. Be careful?" She asks and I nod, with a small smile.

"Always am." I respond.

We separate into pairs, getting into position. Me and Marley go just behind the water barrel, our cover is terrible but right now we don't have a choice.

I watch on as the Governor shoots at a walker.

As time went on, the Governor went from standing on the tank to holding Michonne's katana to Hershel neck and I take a deep breath. I hear Maggie and Beth sob. God, Ashley doesn't know what is happening right now. As Rick speaks to try and ease him to lower the weapon, he looks like he does.

He's lowering it.

Until...

He slices the sword into Hershel's neck and time slows down. No. No, no. This can't be happening. Ashley's father. Maghie's, Beth's. Shit. Ashley doesn't know. She's not here. She's inside. Probably making her way to the bus. Please, don't make her see this. This world is cruel. Please be some horrible dream. He's the voice of reason in the group. A father to everyone. I hear Maggie scream and Beth crying but it just passes my head. He's gone. Hershel's gone.

"No!" I hear Rick scream and time sped up again, and the gunfire starts.

"Daddy!" Beth sobs and the gunfire comtinues. I see a bullet hit the Governor. Thank God, the son of a bitch got shot, he deserves to die.

As time went on I didn't realise people started leaving. Me and Marley moving into a different position. Not bothering stopping. I'll die for Ashley so she can get to safety. I hope Hayley is on that bus right now as well. No way in hell can I lose them two.

I kill a few people, shooting at their heads, don't want them to come back. They've already done enough damage as it is. Marley is shooting at the people following the tank, but are too exposed from behind it. How the hell are we gonna beat that tank?

Eventually the tank is in the courtyard and we have to make a run for it. The bus isn't here. Shit. The cabin. Ashley will go there if she didn't make it.

"Adam!" Marley screeches and shoots at a walker about to take a chunk out of my arm and I breathe a sigh of relief. "What are we gonna do?" She questions.

"I know a place." I respond and basically drag her out of there, running into the woods for safety.

We have been walking through the woods for a little bit when we come across the cabin. I get my gun ready and Marlwy nods at me, taking one side of the door and me on the other. I knock the door, three solid knocks, mine and Ashley's signal. The door opens and her face is there. She sees me and brings me into a hug.

"Thank God, you're ok." She murmurs into my shirt. I wrap my arms around her, relieved.

"Look, I hate to break this up but we should go inside." Marley offers and I nod. Pulling away from her.

We enter and see Emma there, she looks at us with happy eyes but they dampen when she sees there's only two of us. Not the two people she wanted.

"Hi." She mumbles and I nod. "Did you...?" She pauses before taking a deep breath. "Did you see him get out?" She asks but I shake my head.

"No. But it's Daryl we're on about. He's probably safe. And Jamie. He probably got on the bus on time." I tell her and she nods, accepting that answer.

Ashley grabs my hand and I shakingly face her. How the hell am I suppose to tell her about Hershel? "Did you see my dad, Maggie or Beth?" She questions but I shake my head.

"Maggie and Beth must have got out. But..." I pause and she looks at me with wide eyes.

"Is he...? My dad... is he dead?" She asks, her voice cracking and tears fill her eyes.

I nod. "I'm sorry." I choke out and she sobs, her shoulders shaking and I bring her in a hug. Marley sits next to Emma.

"Hay... Hayley?" Ashley manages to choke out.

"I'm not sure." I tell her before bringing her further into my chest.

God, this day has been the worst. We lost Hershel, and probably many others. My sister better be on that bus. I can't lose her. At least I know Ashley, Emma, the unborn baby and Marley are safe. It's my job to protect them, no, protect each other.

I'm sorry it's short but it's the best that I can do. The easiest way to cut it off. There we go, Hershel's death. I wonder how everyone has gone and who is with who... hmm, I wonder. Try and guess in the reviews. Poor Greene family, right? I cried during Hershel's death when I first saw it. Anyways, I hoped you guys enjoyed it. Please leave a review, I would like to know what you think! Also, recommend the gender of the baby, boy or girl?
