Sonic the Hedgehog
"Let's get 'em!"
I'm Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog! You may know me as the true blue hero, or the blue blur. Recently, my friends and I have been transported to a strange planet called Earth, where we met this boy called Chris and his family. We lived with him for a while, tryn'a find the seven Chaos Emeralds. When we found them all, nasty ol' Eggman got ahold of them, and nearly beat me. However, thanks to a little help, I got all the emeralds, and in my Super form, Eggman was nothin'! Because of that, the emeralds had to split, meaning we were all right back at square one!
As I was returnin' to Station Square one night, my own story begins.
I was dashin' around Station Square, on my way back to Chris' mansion, when I saw somethin' odd. I stood on a building after havin' ran up it, while looking down on the streets. Police were driving pretty quickly along the highway, so I decided to follow 'em to check it out.
"Aw yeah, this is happenin'!" I exclaimed, because I was pretty excited to see what this was. Probably just some criminal, but it's worth checkin' out.
As I sped along the road, I saw the police guys starin' down some sort'a liquidy thing with their guns and whatnot. I waited to see what was gonna happen. A crowd of people were bein' held back, most likely to protect 'em.
"Ready men?" one of the guys asked his teammates. "Fire!"
On that command, all the guys fired their guns. Not a single one penetrated this thing's watery skin! Just like that, the creature fought back, destroying some of their police cars and tossin' them aside, forcin' them and the others to retreat.
This was when I stepped in. I jumped in front of the thing, wantin' to challenge it. "This could be fun!"
Chaos 0
Boss Battle
This battle started off with the creature walking slowly towards me. I tried Spin Dashing it, but I was rebounded right off.
"Alright, regular attacks ain't doin' anythin'," I noted, creating a mental note in my mind. I quickly noticed a glowing pink spot on what should be it's head, so I used my Homing Attack on it.
I must'a worked, because it morphed into a puddle as soon as I hit it, even if it went back into shape seconds later. The creature then started stretching it's arms out and began spinnin' them around. Thankfully, this allowed me to get another hit in.
This was when the thing jumped right up on one of the posts, trying to stab me with his weird water-like arms. That didn't work out so well for him, because he hopped right back down, giving me a chance to attack.
I think that did the trick. "Hey, I'll play with you some other time!" I taunted, as I won the fight.
Battle End
It started to move in puddle mode, so I ran after it. "Hey, ya big drip! Where ya off to?" I asked it, while the creature plopped into the drain. "Heh, he didn't stay around for long!"
What I didn't know, was that somebody was watching me.
"You dimwit! That's Chaos, the God of Destruction! Ho-ho-ho!"
When mornin' came, I jumped off my usual rest spot on Chris' mansion's roof and entered the livin' room, where Chris, Amy, Cream and Cheese were sittin', and Luster was standin'.
"Hey guys, what's up?" I asked, entering.
"Oh, nothing much. Anything new with you?" Chris asked me.
"Not much. Hey, any of you wanna come to the hotel at Emerald Coast with me?" I continued. I went to that hotel shortly after I dealt with the beast from last night, and I thought I'd bring someone with me there the next mornin'.
"We're good!" Cream answered.
"I'm alright, too," Chris added.
"I'd love to come with you, but Ella, Cream, Cheese and I are gonna go shopping in a little bit," Amy continued.
"Ah, that sucks," I sighed, my plan falling apart before me. I quickly turned to Luster, who seemed to be excited. "Hey, you wanna come, Luster?"
I think he was very excited. "Okay!" he replied.
I grabbed onto his arm. "Cool! See ya later, guys!" I sped outta the way I came, goin' towards the beach.
Speeding through Station Square - past the central station - and into the hotel. Without any haste, we landed ourselves some chairs, catchin' the sun rays by the pool. Though, we did find somethin' weird.
"Tails?" Luster asked, pointing to a plane in the sky.
"Ah! He's gonna crash!" I worried. However, I saw somethin' even more weirder. "What sort of plane's that? It's not the X-Tornado. Eh, he's probably testin' out a new machine."
When he crashed, we were all shocked. I'm sure some of the humans around us were even more shocked than we were. But they haven't known Tails as much as I have.
One thing I learnt during my adventures with him was that he can fly extremely well. He never crashed, so I had to go check it out.
"You stay here, Luster. I'm gonna see if Tails is okay," I stated, jumpin' off my own chair. "I'll be back before you can say 'chilidogs'!"
I sped out onto the beach, filled with worry about my best friend.
Emerald Coast
Action Stage
BGM: Azure Blue World
I zoomed onto the beach, takin' out all of the robots that were here. So, Eggman has decided to invade the beach, huh? When I'm done here, the people will be able to come out here again.
As I went on, I was forced to follow the bridge that was lined with ropes to keep me from going off. Bestin' some more of these monkey 'bots, I sped around the loop, blasted past this little island, and over to a huge slope. Runnin' up it was easy. Jumpin' over a spiked gate, I had to go round another loop, which took me to this other bridge.
When I started speedin' on the bridge, a whale started chasin' me. It's great that I can go faster than light, 'cause if I couldn't, I'd be a goner.
After jumping off the bridge at the end, I dashed up the little mountain, over a lighthouse, and into a cave.
BGM Change: Windy and Ripply
Headin' through the cave, I ran past a pretty little waterfall. I didn't have any time to waste, so I got outta there, jumpin' across footholds, gettin' over spiked gates, and over a wall. Using my Spin Dash to spin perfectly around a little cove which gave me enough speed to to launch myself over to a larger slope. The path there led me to a dip, which had me jumping from orange pad to orange pad, until I got to a high point. Dashin' through some more gates and destroyin' some more 'bots brought me to a final stretch, where Tails' crash site lay.
Cool, he was fine!
Level C Complete
I went to pick Tails up, who seemed to be happy to see me.
"Hey, buddy. Why'd you crash? You're too good of a pilot to do that," I commented, helping him up. "Why weren't you using the X-Tornado?"
"First of all, I wanted to see if I could create a plane that's faster than the X-Tornado. I tried using this..." Tails explained, bringing out a special gem.
"A Chaos Emerald?" I asked, staring at the purple gem of power.
"Yeah. I wanted to create a faster plane so we can find the emeralds quicker. Turns out I overlooked some stuff," Tails answered. "Hey, come with me back to Chris' house. There's something I wanna show ya. I'll take this prototype back - it'll take me just a second to fix. I'll meet you back there."
"Cool. See ya!" I nodded, speeding back through the Emerald Coast, through the hotel and back into the city. I swear I'm forgetting something...or someone...
Within minutes, I got to the car park just outside the mansion, while Tails landed his prototype plane just outside the garage. He sped over to where I was, when suddenly, an all-too familiar friend of ours popped up.
"Well, if it isn't Sonic!" Dr. Eggman noted, hovering down in front of us in his mobile.
"Oh look, it's a giant talking egg!" I joked. What trouble was Egghead here gonna cause next?
"Quiet! I am Doctor Ivo 'Eggman' Robotnik, the greatest scientific mind of the universe!" Eggman gloated, clearly forgetting that Tails was here.
"You're always stirring up trouble. What do ya want now?" Tails asked, rippin' the question right from my tongue.
"I want the Chaos Emeralds. You're going to hand me them, or else!" Eggman demanded, also forgetting that I was here.
"Or else what, ya big loser? I mean that literally," I joked. I never take this guy seriously, because he's never come close to beating me, and never will.
"I'll take it from you by force! Here, face my Egg Hornet!"
Egg Hornet
Boss Battle
Tails and I had to quickly move out the way, as Eggman fired multiple rockets at us. When he was done with that, he tried to attack us with some spikes that appeared out of the front of his machine. Since he was stuck in the ground, I was free to hit him with a Homing Attack.
"Argh!" he grunted, getting back into the air, firing more rockets at us.
"Watch out, Tails!" I warned him, as he boosted himself outta the way with his tails.
Eggman tried that stabbing tactic once again, where I again hit him.
I'm not gonna bore ya with what happens next, because Eggman is the kind that likes to repeat tactics.
Nevertheless, I beat him anyway, as his Egg Hornet extension blows off his mobile for good.
Battle End
Eggman was sent crashin' down to the ground, allowing us to walk into the house without any trouble. Though...while Tails was walkin' back over to the front door, the egg snatched the emerald out of my pal's hand, unexpectedly.
"Too easy!" Eggman commented, holding the purple Chaos Emerald in his hand.
Chris, Cream and Cheese burst through the front door, apparently hearing what was goin' on.
"Eggman's got the Chaos Emerald!" Chris noticed.
"And that's not the only thing I have! Chaos!" Eggman called, as a familiar liquid being appeared beside the doctor.
"Chaos?" Tails wondered.
"That's the same beast I saw the other night!" I remembered, as the water creature formed.
Eggbutt threw the emerald at the creature, now called Chaos, which caused him to grow and transform into a bigger state, which looked to be even more powerful than it was before. "Chaos grows whenever I feed him a Chaos Emerald! When I give him all seven, he will be unstoppable! I'll use this power to destroy Station Square, and in the ruins, I will build Eggmanland, the base of the Eggman Empire!"
"No way!" Chris said. "You can't do that!"
"Oh, but I will!" Eggman replied. He hovered up into the air, as Chaos formed into that puddle again. "Come, Chaos! Let us find the Chaos Emeralds, so that you may become stronger!" He then flew away, leavin' us without an emerald. Chaos also left by teleporting.
"We can't let him get away with this. You thinking what I'm thinking?" Tails implied, turnin' to me.
"Yep. We gotta get those emeralds before he does. We'll need the X-Tornado for that," I nodded, rushing towards the garage and entering. Tails followed, but not before movin' his prototype outta the way. He got into his seat, and I took the seat behind.
"Wait, guys!"
"What's up, Chris?" I asked him, as he entered the room. "You wanna come with us or somethin'?"
"Yeah. Can I?" Chris answered.
"Sure. Hop in!" Tails replied, while Chris put his helmet on and jumped into the seat behind mine. "All set? Then let's go!"
Tails, Chris and I flew for quite a while. Without a Chaos Emerald, findin' another one would be much more difficult.
Though, Tails had the idea of using Power Rings as a replacement source for our Chaos Emerald Locator, which worked like a charm.
As we all hovered over a set of mountains, the map started to beep, so we landed the plane and stood firmly on the ground.
"I've heard of this place. It's called the Windy Valley. It's a valley of mountains in North Western England, where the wind is incredibly intense. Watch yourselves, guys," Chris alerted us, as we started our search for the emerald.
Windy Valley
Action Stage
BGM: Windy Hill
All three of us ran down this little hill, where a path of wind was like, waitin' for us. Chris had slight difficulty runnin' along it, but we were all fine, especially when we were brought up thanks to a giant fan-like ground. This little pathway led us to another wind path, which ended with a trampoline.
Neither of us had any sort of trouble gettin' up that bit, but what happened next was a real crowd pleaser.
The bridge suddenly collapsed, as all of us were sucked in by a, "Tornado!" Tails mentioned, as we entered the tornado.
BGM Change: Tornado
"Where's Chris?" I asked Tails, standing up on a bit of land that the tornado broke off.
"He must have been flung away. I guess humans can't resist tornadoes like we can," Tails answered. "Come on, we need to get moving!"
"Yeah, I guess he'll be fine," I replied. Tails and I made our way up the tornado, tryin'a find a way out with my friend's twin-tails. He needed a rest at one point, but that didn't matter. We were pretty much already out.
BGM Change: In the Air
I sped down the pathway; it curving left, right and circular. Shortly, the path straightened out, allowing me to really strut my stuff. I then found a rocket, which dropped me in front of another pathway - this one brought us to a large loop, followed by a wind path, then a small travel up a little hill, until I got blasted to somewhere else.
The bridge I was forced to follow made a circle pattern, and had a loop. After a quick jog, we found ourselves running down a wall, then followin' a large wind path to the Chaos Emerald.
Level C Complete
"Hey guys! I found the emerald!" Chris told us, holding the emerald in his hand.
"You got sent here?" Tails asked him.
"Yeah. My helmet wasn't blown off, so I'm fine," Chris answered. "How are we gonna get back?"
"Don't worry. I installed something on the X-Tornado before I went to test my prototype plane. Check it!" Tails replied, pressin' a button on a remote that he brought outta nowhere. The X-Tornado then came flyin' over, like someone was piloting it, but it wasn't really. "I installed an auto-pilot function! Handy, huh?"
"Heh, sure is. Now let's go get that next emerald!" I nodded, while everyone hopped into their seats. Tails put in the Chaos Emerald, allowin' the plane to fly much faster. Without much time to waste, we zoomed into the skies, tryn'a find the next emerald.
We had flown for so long, it actually became night. Luckily, just above what Chris said was a casino, our radar was beepin', so we had to land just outside the casino in order to get a closer look.
Meanwhile, I found something in the alleyway. A strange pair of shoes that looked just like...mine. I picked them up and slipped 'em on my feet, where a strange red ball started to talk to me.
"You got the Light Speed Shoes! Charge up your Spin Dash to encase yourself in a crystal-like aura. Release it to blast ahead at super light-speeds!" a female voice explained to me.
"Huh, cool!" I commented. I noticed that Tails and Chris were ahead of me. "Wait up!" I quickly caught up with 'em.
"Casinopolis? Nice name for a casino," Tails commented, as we hopped out of the X-Tornado and stood right outside the entrance.
"Heh. Names aren't everything," I added, about to walk into the casino, but I was stopped by some guy.
"Halt. There are robots in here. It is too dangerous to enter," the dude warned us. "The casino is closed."
"Thanks, but we can handle some of Eggman's robots quickly. Plus, there's somethin' in there we need," I returned. Obviously, this guy either doesn't know who I am, or he can't see.
"Hmm? Oh, you must be Sonic the Hedgehog. I apologise. Could you eliminate these robots? Business is going down because of them," the guy realised, stepping aside.
"Sure," I answered. Tails and I then walked in, but the guy wouldn't allow Chris in for some reason.
"How old are you?" he asked.
"Uh, eleven. Is there some sort of problem?" Chris returned. I was confused. Why wouldn't this guy let Chris in?
"You have to be the age of twenty-one or above to enter Casinopolis. Even if you are with others that are allowed in, rules still apply," the guy stated.
"That's okay. Sonic, Tails, I'll wait by the X-Tornado," Chirs told us, walking off.
Tails and I made no haste gettin' in Casinopolis. After all, there was a Chaos Emerald at stake.
Casinopolis
Action Stage
BGM: The Dreamy Stage
Inside Casinopolis, things weren't as bad as I thought. Some of the Egghead's spinny robots were around, but they went down with a singular Homing Attack per spinny 'bot.
"The Chaos Emerald has to be around here somewhere..." Tails complained, while I destroyed some more 'bots. "We'd have to look in all the rooms if we wanna get that emerald."
"Let's start here," I suggested, walking into the room with the big double doors. It was all full of gold - though I wasn't sure if it was real or not. "Divebomb!" I dived straight into the gold, Spin Jump first.
"Sonic! You okay?" Tails asked me.
"I'm cool! No Chaos Emerald in here!" I replied, jumpin' right out. "Let's go check somewhere else."
We both left the room, completely unaware of the silvery-grey light from behind. Tails thought checkin' the room that had the sign labelled 'SHOWER' would be a good idea. We did it anyway, but no emerald.
I wasn't too fond of that room, so we left rather quickly. Well, I say we...
BGM Change: Dilapidated Way
Later, when Tails was done in the dump, he admitted it was a stupid idea. But eh, it would have worked.
"Sorry Sonic...the emerald could have been anywhere..." Tails apologised.
"Eh, no need to apologise. Come on, let's get outta this dump...literally," I replied, bringing him back to the main casino lobby.
BGM Change: The Dreamy Stage
"I say we split up. We can cover more ground that way, and we'll have more of a chance to find that emerald," Tails suggeted. I liked that idea, so he went somewhere else in the casino, and I checked that 'vault' room, or whatever it was.
Instead of going into the pile, I found a grey light from the top. Using a good ol' fashioned run up to get to where it was, and that was that. "Heh, looks like I found the emerald!" I said to myself, running back into the lobby.
"Sonic! You found it!" Tails exclaimed, flying down from the top area of Casinopolis.
"Sure did! Let's get outta here. Now that all Eggman's robots are gone, we can leave for good," I stated, leaving the casino with my best buddy.
Level C Complete
Tails and I jogged out Casinopolis, saying goodbye to the guy, until we found someone that surprised us. Eggman!
"Hey!" I grunted, Spin Dashing outta the way. I...I accidently dropped the grey Chaos Emerald because of the surprise. "Oh no, the Chaos Emerald!"
"No you don't!" Eggman yelled, sprayin' some sorta purple gas thing at us, which made us fall asleep.
He got away with the emerald.
Hours later, in the mornin' time, we were woken up by Chris.
"Hey, why are you guys asleep?" he asked us.
"Oh no! Eggman got away with that emerald! That's his two to our one, and that isn't good!" Tails alerted, realising that our emerald is gone.
"At least the other one's safe. He's gotta be desperate. Come on, we gotta go find more of those emeralds!" I returned, speeding back to the X-Tornado. We all stuck ourselves back into our seating arrangements, and took-off.
"I had to sleep on this..." Chris complained, as we let our purple emerald guide us.
Before long, we got to a rather cold area, east of where we were.
"We're above Norway. Not sure where, but we're definitely in Norway. It's pretty much always snowing here," Chris told us, looking at his atlus.
"The radar's going! The Emerald's gotta be here somewhere!" Tails realised, aiming the plane over a particuarly snowy area. He parked the X-Tornado just on a snow mountain. "The emerald's down here."
"I didn't prepare for winter," Chris brought up. "I'll have to stay in the X-Tornado. I don't wanna get frostbite!"
"That's cool. Let's do this, Tails!" I replied, heading into the snow with my best pal.
That pun wasn't intended, by the way.
Ice Cap
Action Stage
BGM: Snowy Mountain
I sped up a small mound, leading into a cave. For this next part, I had to move from icicle to icicle quickly, otherwise I'd fall off. Tails learnt that the hard way. Doing some of my usual speedy stunts, I got myself to a rocket, where it took me to the next section. Tails was still with me, of course.
BGM Change: Limestone Cave
I almost ran off the edge here, but I was saved by Tails.
"Don't fall off, otherwise things will just take longer and be more tedious. Jump over there, and things'll be easier," Tails told me. I did what he said, and ended up landing on a switch that revealed some snow that I could run across. Pass that, and I got over to an orange pad. Jumping on it, and the others I was sent to, which caused a giant icicle to crash into he ground, and for a pathway to open to the next area.
BGM Change: Be Wild, Be Cool, Be Groovy!
Tails and I ran over to a ledge with two snowboards on it. We knew exactly what to do here.
Things were very clear, especially when an avalanche came hurtlin' towards us.
We took our boards, and started boardin' down the snow hill. Some icicles tried to block our way, but we burst right through!
There were these ramps that we used to gain alot of airtime, which allowed us to perform some cool tricks.
Our speed was insane. Well, we were tryin'a not to get caught in this avalanche. Luckily, at some point later on, we seemed to be safe, as it wasn't chasin' us then. More ramps and speed later, we ended up at an open area, where we saw a green light.
Tails went over to pick it up, and there it was. Another Chaos Emerald!
Level C Complete
We sped back to Chris and the X-Tornado, where we took off in search of the next emerald.
On our search, we found a familiar red knucklehead. We wondered what he was doing there, so Tails got the idea of checking him out. He landed the plane next to some hills.
"There sure are a lot of hills here," I commented, as I was the last one to get out of the X-Tornado. "Let's go see what Knucklebrain's doin'."
"Why's he just standing there...?" Chris wondered, as we approached him.
"What's up, Knuckles?" I asked him, steppin' forward.
He turned around, and almost insinctively tried to punch me. If I weren't so fast, he might just have hit me there.
"Somethin' buggin' ya?" I continued.
"There's no time for games! Hand me those emeralds you have!" Knuckles demanded.
What? Why would he want the emeralds? Either way, I wasn't just gonna give them to him. "Huh? Alright, just try and take 'em!"
Vs Knuckles the Echidna
Character Battle
Knucklehead's really done it this time. He tried punching me, but I fought back with a Homing Attack. When he tried a Spin Dash, I did the same.
We were so equally matched. Everyone watching this fight knew that. I knew that. Knuckles knew that.
Okay, that's probably the deepest thing I've ever said. Er, written. Uh, typed. Well, yeah, that's pretty deep.
Just like this fight.
Battle End
Knuckles charged for me, while I charged at him. One on one, a test of power. Except that the charge caused me to drop both the Chaos Emeralds we got in Windy Valley and Ice Cap.
"Ah, the emeralds!" Chris yelped, probably in fear or somethin'.
But that wasn't it, 'cause ol' Egghead was here to ruin everything. He hovered over and nabbed our emeralds faster than I beat Knuckles.
"Just like tanking some sweeties from a baby!" Eggman gloated, holding the two emeralds.
"Wait a sec...those are Chaos Emeralds!" Knucklehead realised, looking at them.
"That's right! You made it far too easy for me, dear Knuckles!" Eggman replied. "I practically had them in my hands."
"Hold it right there! You're not gettin' away with this, Eggman!" I threatened. I was ready to take those emeralds back. "Knuckles, don't tell me he tricked you again...way to go!"
"Ha-ha-ha! I now have four beautiful emeralds! Chaos!" Eggman called, as that darned water beast appeared again. He threw the two emeralds at Chaos, transforming him into some weird fish-like shape. "These are for you, my friend!"
"This is the same creature that I saw on the news the other night!" Chris exclaimed.
"He's transformed again!" Tails pointed out.
"Man, nobody cuts us any slack!" I complained. "I'll take this thing!"
Chaos 4
Boss Battle
Chaos decided to take this battle into the pond below - where I had to jump from lilypad to lilypad in order to avoid the water. He fired all kinds of attacks, which I Spin Jumped to avoid. When he poked his brain outta the water, that was my chance to attack with my own Homing Attack.
It dived back into the water and started up a chain of attacks, but it stupidly enough, allowed me another Homing Attack shot.
That was pretty much the entire fight from then on out. See, for a water creature, not so smart. Probably all the Homing Attacks and Spin Jumps I was giving it. Heh.
Battle End
When I was over with Chaos, something huge came over the valley we were all in.
"Behold! My brand, spanking new flying fortress! The Egg Carrier!" Eggman revealed. "As mighty as it is, it pales in comparison to Chaos' full power! Until we meet again!"
The 'Egg Carrier' beamed Eggman up, getting him outta our reach.
"We can't just let him get away!" Chris brought up.
"Let's use the X-Tornado! It should be fast enough to beat that Egg Carrier!" Tails suggested.
"Alright, let's go!" I agreed. That idea was great.
Knucklebrain however, had other ideas. "You guys go. I've some unfinished business to take care of."
"No prob. We'll take care of Eggman," I replied. Fair enough to the guy.
"Hurry up! Let's get going!" Tails rushed, takin' the helm of the X-Tornado. I jumped ontop of it, as I usually do, and Chris climbed in as well. We were all then ready to go kick some Eggbutt!
Sky Chase: Act 1
Sub Game
BGM: Tornado and Scramble
After that, all three of us headed to where the Egg Carrier went - above the clouds. Some small fighter plane Badniks were waitin' for us, but Tails gunned 'em down. Actually, all these Badniks were pretty easy.
When we flew above the bridge of the ship, some fiery-red shots tried attackin' us. Tails, bein' the expert pilot he is, dodged them all and destroyed 'em, as if there was nothin' to it.
There really was nothin' to it. 'Cept, a weird dragon-thing came towards us.
"What is that thing?" Chris asked. The metal dragon fired some fireballs - no pun intended - at us, which made Tails have the plane go into awkward positions. Me? I was holding on for my life.
"We gotta fight back! Tails, turn this thing around and let's scrap this 'bot!" I stated.
"Okay!" Tails nodded, turnin' the plane around and shootin' at the robot dragon. Eggman really outdid himself here.
"Ho-ho-ho! E-125 Metal Dragoon is performing well!" Eggman gloated, staring at the event, also temporarily removing the first-person narrative of this chapter.
"Doctor, perhaps now would be a good time to launch the laser cannon?" Decoe suggested. "While Sonic is distracted, we can shoot them down!"
"Just as I was thinking!"
We weren't doin' well against this dragon. All the shots Tails fired at it rebounded right off. Not even some Homing Attacks and Spin Jumps would do anythin'. When we came in front of the carrier, the front of it started to open, as a massive laser came shootin' out of it.
"We're hit!" Tails alerted, as soon as the laser tore right through the X-Tornado. "I'm afraid we're going down!"
"Ah, man!" I whined. Here, I started to lose my footing, which caused me to slip off the plane. Because Tails couldn't turn around and catch me, I was left vulnerable.
"Sonic!" Chris called with a big dash of worry in his tone.
I should be okay, right?
Level C Complete
Followin' what just happened with the Egg Carrier and that stupid metal dragon, I landed in the sands of what looked a bit like Emerald Coast. Of course, since I was fallin', I was focusin' on landin' safely.
Even if it was in the sand.
"Tails? Chris?" I asked, tryin' ta get an answer.
I felt somebody tuggin' on my leg, like they were tryn'a pull me outta the sand. I allowed them to, even if I was confused.
"Who...who are you?" I questioned the girl. She had to have been the one that pulled me out. Though, I did recognise her. "Aren't you one of Chris' friends?"
"Yeah. My name's Frances. I don't believe we've properly met, Sonic," Frances answered. "So what're you doing in the sand?"
"Ah, it's a long story. To put it short, we were shot down by Eggman," I replied. "That reminds me. You see Chris or Tails anywhere?"
"Nope. Haven't seen Chris since school yesterday on Friday," she shook her head. I was disappointed. "Hopefully you'll find them soon."
"Yeah, hope so. Alright, see ya!" I finished, rushin' into the Emerald Coast Hotel. The manager spotted me and got my attention.
"Sonic, I need to tell you something!" he called. I was interested, so I came over.
"What's up?" I wondered, leanin' on the counter.
"I found a weird ring in my storage room. I don't know what it is, so I thought you might make some sense out of it," the dude told me, messin' about under his desk. "I opened the door for you. Take the stairway behind you."
"Cool. Thanks!" I replied, goin' up the stairs and into the storage room. On the floor, a light-blue ring lay perfectly flat, like the manager guy had moved it. I picked it up and slipped it on my wrist, 'cause I was curious to see if it held any sort of power.
Turns out, it did. The same red ball from when I got the Light Speed Shoes appeared, doin' the same old thing.
"You got the Crystal Ring! Equipping it will decrease the energy usage of the Light Speed Dash, so it will take half the time to charge up, and you won't feel as worn out as when you would use it regularly!" the voice explained, disappearin' shortly after it finished. Strange, that. She sounds female.
"Cool," I commented, goin' back down to the manager.
"Well, what is it?" he asked.
"It's a ring that has some strange power. I'm not too sure what it is," I answered, lookin' at the ring on my wrist.
"That's great. You can have it if you want; I've got no use for it," the guy told me. "Also, a friend of yours was wandering where you were. His name would be Luster."
"Thanks! I'll go look for him. Which way did he go?" I continued.
"Last time I saw him, he went to the Casino Area. Ironically, in search of you, I believe," the manager replied. "I suggest you start there."
"Sweet. Thanks for the info!" I nodded, runnin' to the area with the casino. Luster just had to be here. What could possibly go wrong?
As I was standin', facin' the casino, the voice of true fear ringed. Okay, I'm jokin', but I was worried at what was gonna happen next.
"Sonic!" Amy called, walkin' over to where I was. She had a bird with her, but I didn't focus on it. "Long time no see!"
"A-Amy? What're you doing here?" I asked, taking a step back.
She held her bird. "Lily here's in trouble. I need you to be it's bodyguard for a while!"
"No way!" I refused. I didn't know this bird and I usually like helpin' people, but I didn't know if this was another one of her 'games'.
"If you don't, we're just gonna tag along anyway!" Amy insisted.
"Uh..." I murmured. At this point, there was nothin' to lose. So I jammed outta there. "See ya later!"
I sped through the endless streets of Station Square, just tryin'a get away from this girl. Sometimes I forget how weirdly fast Amy is. However, when we came past some amusement park, my stalker stopped chasing me. Weird.
"What now?" I asked, turning back.
She was facing opposite the way we were runnin' in, at some green robot-thingy.
"Look! It's that robot from earlier!" Amy replied, gettin' her hammer ready. "I won't let it get me this time!" She attacked it, slammin' the hard surface of her weapon onto the 'bot's head.
It did nothing.
"Man, that robot sure is durable!" I commented, walkin' up to Amy. "I'll take this thing. It's only a chunk of cheesy hardware. You might wanna run."
Amy nodded, and ran behind me. Not directly behind me, but was further away from the robot then I was.
I Spin Dashed the thing, but I barely did a thing. It only got slightly knocked-back. "Heh. A simple Spin Dash is just too good for ya, eh?"
"Whoa!" Amy yelped.
"Hey, what's up?" I asked, turnin' round after havin' used a Homing Attack on this green 'bot.
"Twinkle Park? Oh my...cute couples get in FREE?!" she gasped in excitement. The girl rushed into the elevator, leavin' me with this robot.
"Wait!" I called out, tryin' ta get her to wait. I got fed up. "That girl's such a pain! See ya, green dude!" I rushed into the elevator as soon as it came down, and ran straight to where I saw Amy go into - the main amusement park, known as Twinkle Park.
Twinkle Park
Action Stage
BGM: Twinkle Cart
Walkin' into the door that was labelled 'Twinkle Park', I was thrown into a large room filled with multi-coloured hovercars.
"Hovercars? What's next, hoverboards?" I joked, as a woman who I assumed that works here came up to me.
"Hello! You must be Sonic the Hedgehog! Welcome to Twinkle Park!" the woman greeted. "Here, you can select one of our hovercars - courtesy of Rimlight Corporations - and race along our track, into the amusement park itself, for some high-speed action! Or, you could just skip the whole thing and go to the path on your left, leading you straight to the park. What will it be?"
"I like the sound of that track!" I nodded, forgettin' about what I was actually here for. Because of my tendancy to not wait, I instantly took the driver seat of the hovercar that matched my fur colour.
"I heard you're the impatient one! Don't worry if you see bottomless pits, those are still parts of the track. They're only invisible. Don't worry about falling!" the woman explained, openin' up the doorway to the track. Without haste, I started what could be the best racing experiences of my life.
I shot down the wavy road, boosted along by a couple of...boosters. Along the corners and straights, I discovered some people that were all over the place - I think they haven't gotten the hang of things yet. While I sped past them and a gigantic slope, some more boosters and corners were like, waitin' for me.
"Cool fake meteorites," I joked, speeding down a bump-filled slope that had some obviously fake meteorites above the track.
More human racers were all over the place. Somehow, they managed to get loops into this track. Later on, they even added fake planets! Whoever designed this park clearly had a lotta money on their self.
I quickly found myself at the end of the track, as I was forced to exit the hovercar and climb down a ladder. Of course, I didn't climb.
I jumped.
BGM Change: Pleasure Castle
After havin' jumped down that little drop, I landed in a rollercoaster that started up as soon as I got in it. Talk about eager!
This lil' ride brought me 'round the castle in the middle, which gave me a good view of the whole park and it's rides. Unluckily, it had to end with me being dropped down another drop. A small sprint took me to a small ten-pin bowling game. Instead of using the bowling balls, I used my own Spin Dash to knock 'em out.
A jingle played and the door opened, allowin' me to move on. I heard screams, and saw some humans runnin' around the place, scared.
"What's up?" I wondered, looking ahead. I found robots. "Oh right. Eggman."
I destroyed this flabby 'bot, and advanced to a small swimmin' pool area, with some Badniks layin' about. A Homing Attack easily disposed of them, and the two flabbier ones that were in front of another bowling game. Smashin' the game with another Spin Dash, I jogged past a cool little merry-go-round thing, up a wall, and to some floatin' platforms. Jumpin' past these plats and then to some more, I ended up on the side of the mahoosive castle in the middle of the entire park.
"There's barely a way in there...Amy might just be there for all I know," I noticed, trying to get to the castle's courtyard. I destroyed most of Eggman's robots here, but a simple wall is what's stopping me? This whole thing is just ridiculous.
So I did somethin' ridiculous. I ran up the wall, into the courtyard and eliminated the remaining few 'bots that were knockin' around. No Amy in sight.
"Ah, man, where could she be?" I asked myself, stumblin' across another rollercoaster. Shruggin', I rode this one, which ended up in me blastin' ahead at usual rollercoaster speeds.
Tails is faster than this, I mean come on!
Level C Complete
"Welcome back!" the same woman greeted, as I exited the pathway. I quickly realised that the rollercoaster took me back to the main lobby. "How was your experience?"
"Good. Thanks for the ride!" I thanked, speedin' outta the lobby. "I bet that robot hauled butt after her. I better get juicin'!"
It was evenin' when Amy and I entered Twinkle Park. Now, it's night.
"I'll have to do a good search of the city. I better check the highway," I realised, runnin' into the highway. She could be anywhere by now...
Speed Highway
Action Stage
BGM: Run Through the Speed Highway
I stated my search down a slope. A big one. Passin' by some cars, I jumped off the side and onto a construction area, where I quickly found myself speedin' up a building. I realised that there was another road off to the side, which I easily hopped onto and continued runnin'.
The roads started to spiral, but I just kept on movin'. No formation of road would keep me down.
After ridin' a helicopter to another building, I took a rocket over to another road, with stretched for quite a while. It stretched even further than Eggman's clothes. Heh.
I had to Homing Attack some spinny-bots and police-bots to clear the area of Badniks, but they were too easy to deal with. They were too easy to even consider a threat.
Takin' a rocket into a pretty tall building, I found that it had a pretty big drop.
I knew what to do.
BGM Change: Goin' Down
I did nothin' but sprint down this building. Whilst I was breakin' past the obstacles, I could clearly see the sun rise on the horizon. It was a pretty sweet sight.
Nothin' else to say here, 'cept that I got down quickly.
BGM Change: At Dawn
By the time it took me to run down that building and get to the open part of the city, the sun had officially risen, and Amy was still nowhere in sight. Lookin' all around this mornin' based area, spinny 'bots made themselves useless.
Seriously, Eggbutt's gotta step up his game. And I've gotta step up my search.
Amy wasn't anywhere.
Level C Complete
I stood out on the streets, unsure of where the girl could be. I've checked every square inch of this city, but I haven't seen a single speck of fur.
"Where could she have gotten to? Heh, I bet I'm just gonna turn around and she'll be right there," I asked myself, turnin' around.
Like on cue, I heard the cries of Amy above me. "Sonic, help!"
"Well, whadd'ya know?" I grinned. The green bot held the girl in it's grasp, and the two were headin' in...some direction. I immediately followed the bot, tryn'a get Amy back.
I continued to follow this robot to a mountain area, where I confronted it. It stopped and turned to face me.
"Hey boltbrain, let Amy go right away!" I demanded, jumpin' in front of it. I was ready to fight the robot.
A one-on-one. I was ready to tear this thing apart.
You see, when a fight starts, you'd expect it to be over quickly, right? Well, that's just what happened.
The Egg Carrier came over the entire area, castin' it in a seriously dark shadow. The green robot and Amy were then beamed up to the gigantic ship in a light blue aura.
"Ah! Help!" Amy called, defenceless to really do anythin'. Boy, I hate bein' stuck like that. It's not good - it's like watchin' the world from a glass case, you can't do anythin'. Not a thing.
My response was to speed up the mountain to try and get a good 'vantage point. On my speedy search, I discovered a weird white light. Literally as soon as I touched it, I kinda accidently absorbed it.
The mysterious red ball appeared once again.
"This is the Ancient Light. The power you just absorbed will allow you to use the Light Speed Attack on an enemy - attacking the opposing side multiple times a second, all at light-speeds!" the female voice explained, goin' 'way shortly after.
"Pretty cool. I could use this..." I commented, thinkin' of the many ways I could hurt Eggman using this technique.
I rushed up the mountains with my new ability in mind. On a high point, I saw the Egg Carrier slowly move ahead the mountain range that lay in front of me.
This would be my final stop.
Red Mountain
Action Stage
BGM: A Symbol of Thrill
I Spin Jumped off the mountain and onto a small area with some construction boxes and Eggman's small monkey robots. One Homing Attack chain was plenty. I took a rocket up to some higher ground, and across a platform - past a whole lotta pumps and to another rocket - I realised somethin'.
"This has gotta be where Eggman gets the energy for his machines and stuff. Either that, or someone's been buildin' somethin' here," I figured, runnin' up a bit of a mountain to a buncha air escapin' from the rocks. I got past that easily with my speed.
A zipline was up next, which took me down to some bits of the surroundin' that was pokin' out. I had to use these as platforms to reach the next little section.
Eggman doesn't care about his creations - which is great, 'cause these spinny 'bots have just become Homing Attack fodder. A couple o' walls to run up had me jumpin' over fire, which was normal for me. I was then runnin' 'round a mountain usin' the platforms on the side, where at the bottom, I used another rocket to get to a literal lava lake.
"Whoa, better avoid that! I don't wanna be a hot hog!" I stated, dashin' along the sides of the lake to another zipline.
The doctor loves his ziplines. This time, this 'line launched me into a drop, probably to the insides of the energy mine.
BGM Change: Red Hot Skull
My thoughts about this place bein' a mine. Not sure what for, but considerin' this entire place is pretty much a volcano, it'd have to be energy, just like I thought. What else? Lava power?
Does that even exist? I'll have to ask Tails or Chuck when I see 'em next.
Anyway, I moved on through the mine, demolishin' all the robots with my Spin Dash, Spin Jump and Homing Attack. The lava wasn't even that much of a threat, 'cause I was too fast for it. Eventually, a rocket got me outta the insides of the mine, bringin' me to a disappointin' view.
Level C Complete
The Egg Carrier was outta my reach, no matter what point I was at. Probably the only way to get on it would be by air.
Luckily...
"Sonic, hey!" the familiar sound of Chris called, as the X-Tornado flew up beside the cliff.
"Chris! Tails! Boy am I glad you guys are okay!" I stated, jumpin' on the plane. "Ready to roll, guys?"
"Let's go get that Egg Carrier!"
Sky Chase: Act 2
Sub Game
BGM: Tornado and Scramble
"So, how have you guys prepped this thing?" I asked. I was pretty curious to see the possible changes Tails made.
"Nothing! Except that we managed to find a Chaos Emerald. Now we have the power to deal with that metal dragon!" Tails explained to me, as he shot down some plane 'bots effortlessly.
"Cool!" I nodded, as we destroyed some of those fire shots and their turrets and went to the underside of the carrier. We destroyed everythin' that wasn't friendly, which was pretty much everythin'. All the turrets, all the planes...
Until we met our best friend.
"There it is! Shoot it down, Tails!" Chris supported.
Usin' the speed of the Chaos Emerald-powered X-Tornado, we narrowly dodged the fireballs the dragon fired at us. Tails then went to town on the thing, utterly destroying it within seconds.
"Nice one, buddy! Let's go rescue Amy!" I commented, as Tails flew the Tornado in front of the plane.
As it opened, my pal quickly shot directly in the centre of it, destroyin' the cannon before it could even fire anything.
"We did it! Time to land!" Tails declared, aimin' for the bridge.
Level C Complete
When we landed, Chris seemed to be pretty amazed at the size of the ship.
"Whoa! This thing's huge!" he stated.
"No time to dawdle. Let's get moving!" Tails replied.
All of us took a small path to the pretty big centre in the middle of the bridge. Who'd miss it?
We weren't alone. Eggman and his cronies knew we were here.
"Stop right there, you meddling fools!" Eggman announced over the intercom system.
"You are not permitted to go any further!" Decoe added.
"Wait there and you will see!" Bocoe continued.
"You two, QUIET! And as for you 'heroes', prepare to see the scope of the Egg Carrier's power!" Eggman boasted.
He wasn't kiddin'. The other end of the ship had re-arranged itself in some manner I can't even begin to describe. How did Eggman do this?
"Did you see that? He changed the carrier's shape!" Tails alerted. Apparently, his mind was also blown.
"This'll just make it harder for us to get to Amy..." I sighed.
Eggman wasn't done with us. "I bet you were not expecting this! The only way to get to me is through the Sky Deck. I seriously doubt that you can get through it! Ha-ha-ha-ha!"
"Oh yeah? Bring it!" I taunted. It took me a little while to realise Eggman probably stepped away from his mic by now. "Looks like we're goin' through the Sky Deck, whatever that is."
"It's gotta be a trap of some sort. But the thing is, how am I gonna get past it?" Chris brought up.
I was stumped. Chris isn't like us, but there should be somethin' he can do.
"We'll protect you. Just try not to stay behind us," Tails replied.
At that, we entered the entrance to Sky Deck (which was conveniently right in front of us); ready to take on what Eggman had in store for us.
Sky Deck
Action Stage
BGM: Skydeck a Go Go!
We were shot out of a cannon almost instantly after enterin' the entrance to Sky Deck. Luckily, we all managed to grab onto a small pillar that brought us onto a bridge. Cannons tried shootin' us down, but they just ended up destroyin' parts of the bridge instead. Each of us, in a single file, climbed up a ladder; onto some more of those grippy pillars and ran over to a suspended platform. We could then easily make the ensuin' jump.
Chris was scared for his life to say the least. Anyway, we had to move on, so we climbed up a spirallin' staircase, 'round a wall, past a small gap, down another staircase, and back onto a bridge.
"Gee, this whole deck must be connected by this one bridge!" Tails joked, as we climbed up another ladder and past some monkey bars.
The bridge brought us to a square-like formation of bridges, with a massive cannon in the middle.
"We've gotta destroy that thing," Chris stated. "But how?"
"There's a rocket over there we can use," Tails pointed out.
To get to that rocket, we had to climb and run. Run from the enormus energy shots the cannon was firin' at us. Chris barely made it out of alive.
Eventually, we got to the rocket, destroyin' the humongous cannon.
"Finally," I commented, takin' one of the three rockets that were on the side. Tails and Chris took the remainin' few.
BGM Change: Skydeck a Go Go!
Chris, Tails and I made our way along this side of the Sky Deck, takin' out the cannons that were littered about. Obviously, the human out of us couldn't do anythin'.
After havin' cleared out some of the turrets, we had a problem. The carrier had increased speed, which caused some turbulence where we were. I nearly got blown off the ship!
"Sonic! You okay?" Tails asked me, pullin' me back to the turret-filled area.
"Thanks, buddy. I'm good; we just need to get movin'," I thanked, grabbin' onto their arms and speedin' along the floor of the next section.
This contained parts of the carrier that were fallin' off, so we couldn't waste time. Gettin' past that, there was a huge cannon in the middle of the area, with several rockets surrounding it.
"Guys, I'll take care of this," I stated, rushin' to one rocket and firin' it at the cannon. Nothin'. "Huh?"
"Sonic, you gotta time it right. Hit the hole in the middle of it," Tails told me, apparently figurin' out what I'm supposed to do.
I nodded, and ran over to the rocket that the cannon was facing, and fired it.
What Tails suggested worked.
"You did it!" Chris noticed, while the remains of that stupid cannon lay where it once was.
"Yep. Now let's keep movin'," I replied, bringin' them down to some sorta storage bay.
BGM Change: General Offensive
In the storage bay, we evaded the rubbish that came hurtlin' towards us, and up a small elevator.
"I see a little area that we can go to. I'll fly there and wait for you guys," Tails mentioned, flyin' to where we're supposed to go.
I had to destroy these spinnin'-bots to have a smooth ride over to a very large, yet fast, spinnin' crane.
"Everythin' here's spinnin'..." I sighed, holdin' onto the end of the crane and Chris (at the same time), while it took us to where Tails was.
I got to the side, where the gravity of the place started to weird me out. The blocks from the other side of the bay slid over to where I was - tellin' me to move outta the way.
"We can use these to get across," Tails suggested, jumpin' on the two containers to get to the correct place. Chris and I followed, walkin' over to an area with a lotta stuff in it.
I quickly sped into the area, goin' towards the back wall. While Tails and Chris were gettin' to where I was, the gravity of the Egg Carrier's flght sent them to different monkey bars. It really didn't take them long to re-group with me.
We used the following staircase to reach a switch - which could have been helpful earlier. It levelled the gravity out, so it meant that we can go down this path to a rocket. In time, that rocket brought all three of us to the top part of the bay, where the entrance to the carrier should be.
And it was.
Level C Complete
All three of us exited the Sky Deck, where we dropped in on what looked like the control room. I wasn't impressed.
"Was that it?" I asked.
"It should be, but it'd be ideal to check out the bridge," Tails replied.
"I agree. The Egg Carrier could have gotten back to normal by now," Chris added. "It explains why we had so much turbulence in the Sky Deck."
"I suppose. Let's go check the bridge," I agreed, as we made our way over to the hoverin'...thing in the middle of the room. We jumped in it, and it took us exactly where we wanted to go.
The bridge.
On the bridge, the first sight I saw was Amy talkin' to Eggman. He had to be threatening her or somethin'. Whatever was goin' on here, it can't be good.
"Sonic!" Amy called. She still had that bird from earlier. What importance does it have?
"You're too late!" Eggman claimed, grabbin' Amy's bird.
"No, not Lily! Give her back!" Amy demanded, reachin' for her feathered friend.
"Okay. I will!" Eggman cackled, throwing the animal back at the girl.
Tails and Chris jogged over, and they were confused just as much as Amy and I were at this sight.
"A Chaos Emerald?" Tails wondered, starin' at the light blue gem the doctor had.
"I didn't even know Lily had an emerald..." Amy mentioned, makin' sure her pal's okay.
"Begone! This is all I need!" Eggman called. "E-102 Gamma! Here!"
From the little hoverin' machine that we used to get to the bridge, a red and white robot with a gun for a hand emerged.
"Your wish is my directive, master," the robot stated, jumpin' into the scene.
"Gamma, get rid of these meddling fools! Give them a taste of your Laser Cannon!" Eggman ordered. He started to fly off. "Do not disappoint me."
"Aye aye," Gamma replied, holdin' it's cannon at all four of us. Whilst it was tryin'a threaten us, Eggman blasted off for whatever reason. Probably too scared to see us beat his best creation.
I started down the machine. Amy, Chris and the bird stood back as Tails and I looked at the thing.
"Tails?" I asked him.
"Yeah?" he replied.
"Ready to kick some robot butt?" I continued.
"Yeah!" Tails answered.
Character Battle
Vs E-102 Gamma
Gamma tried harmin' me with some lasers, but really, that did nothin' against my speed. I used a Homing Attack on it, which seemed to do the trick.
It tried firin' some lock-on shots, but again, I was way too fast.
In fact, this entire fight ended pretty quickly, save for one sneaky shot he got on me.
Eggman really knows how'ta make 'em.
Battle End
Despite me bein' slightly damaged, I still had more than enough energy to use a whole load of attacks. I charged up a powerful Spin Dash, and released it at Gamma.
"Stop!"
Amy obstructed my Spin Dash's path, disallowin' me to finish it off. What gives?
"What're you doin', Amy?" I asked her.
"Don't harm him! He's a friendly robot. He rescued me, and Luster, when we were thrown in Eggman's stinky cells," Amy explained.
So Luster IS here... I thought, listenin'. "Alright, fine...if he's your friend, I won't hurt him. I promise."
Suddenly, a loud noise came from somewhere on the carrier.
"What's going on?" Chris asked, almost losin' his footing.
"This ship's losing altitude! We're gonna crash!" Tails stated.
"Hurry! Get Chris and Amy outta here!" I told him.
"But...but aren't you...what about you?" Amy asked me.
"I'll find Eggman...and crack 'im! Also, Luster's somewhere on this ship, and I gotta find him," I explained, joggin' away from the scene.
I sprinted away, when I quickly realised somethin'. "All the doors here won't open...'cept this one. This has gotta be where the switch is." I walked inside the door, where a ladder led me to the central room, where I assume Eggman operates the entire Egg Carrier. Lookin' on the control pad, I found a medium-sized red button. I just had to press it, to see what it'd do.
That caused a sound of movement to emit from outside - soundin' just like it did when it first transformed. I assumed I pressed the right button.
"Cool! Now I just gotta find Luster..." I repeated to myself, runnin' outside and to the massive centre-thing, where I saw a strange sight.
Luster tore through Chaos' tail, protectin' the big purple guy that was about to be hit. Heh, I raised him well.
After noticin' that Chaos was about to do it a second time, I figured it was my turn to join the battle. I used my own Spin Dash to break the part that was gonna slam down, savin' the two. Of course, it quickly regenerated.
"Hey there, Luster. How's things?" I asked him.
"Sonic? Just what I wanted!" Eggman exclaimed, apparently happy to see me. "Chaos, focus your attention on Sonic!"
"Froggy...I must rescue Froggy!" the purple dude insisted.
"Hey, guy? If he's your friend, I'll rescue him for ya," I stated. I couldn't leave a defenceless anybody behind. Not even if they were a frog. "And you might wanna step back some."
"Why?" Luster asked me, usherin' him and the other guy back onto the bridge that connects to this centre.
"'Cause I'm about to do some serious butt-kicking!"
Chaos 6
Boss Battle
"Sonic, you have no hope of beating Chaos! He's already empowered by six of the seven Chaos Emeralds! Only one more left, and he'll be perfected!" Eggman taunted. "But enough distractions. Chaos, attack!"
The watery beast approached me. Silently and slowly. Just the opposite of me. Heh. Around the fight area, some weird things were dotted around.
"No! I forgot to remove those!" Eggman fretted, literally panickin'.
So, these are his weakness...what are these? I wondered, pickin' one up and throwin' it at Chaos' mouth as it opened.
The creature froze up, like these things had ice in 'em. A Spin Jump was all that I needed to use to deal some damage.
Now that I knew his weakness, I could exploit it. I kept throwin' these ice-things at Chaos, attackin' him with all my attacks.
My final move was pretty cool. I wanted to try out my Light Speed Attack, so I used that to finish Chaos' sixth form off.
All was well. I think I saw that purple guy come up behind Chaos and do somethin', but I couldn't tell what.
Eh, at least he was beat.
Battle End
"Impossible!" Eggman claimed, slammin' down on his mobile.
"Hey, you two, get outta here! The Egg Carrier's about'a crash, so you might wanna get movin'!" I told the two cats behind me. I think that other guy was a cat, but I couldn't tell.
"Okay! Let's go, Big!" Luster continued, as the two ran towards the area where the X-Tornado was. I didn't care how they got off, as long as they were safe. I sure hope Luster knows how to ride that thing...
"Sonic!" Knuckles spoke, runnin' to the scene.
"Hey there, Knucklebrain. Glad you finally joined the party!" I taunted.
Eggman was too scared to deal with us two at the same time, so he started flyin' away. "Until we meet again!"
"Stop! Get back here!" I called out, instinctively jumpin' off the Egg Carrier, chasin' Egghead.
Lookin' back on it, that probably was a terrible idea.
Because of my recklessness, I fell into some ruinous area. Boy was I confused.
"Where's this?" I questioned, watchin' the largest ruin open up. By itself.
What confused me even more, was that the red ball that appeared whenever I got a new item or technique. Instead of it orbittin' my body, it zoomed into the ruin.
"That light...it's gotta be showin' me somethin'. I guess I gotta follow," I realised, followin' the light into the ruin.
To me, these ruins looked like a lost world of some kind. Like a civilisation lost in time, or somethin'.
Lost World
Action Stage
BGM: Lost World 1
I felt lonely in this ruin. Like, I was the only living thing here. Yet, I felt that there was somethin' else here.
What was going on? What was this feeling? I guess the only way to properly find out would be to explore.
Goin' past a little stream of water, I had to run down this long hallway, that only ended with a room filed with firey blocks. These kept poppin' out of the ground, walls and ceiling, but they were all pretty easy to avoid. After that room, another twistin' and turnin' hallway became annoyin'. I landed on a pillar, and the path forced me to go through the stone snake's mouth.
Inside this room, there was a giant stone snake swimmin' around the colossal pool of water...what is it with this place and snakes? Anyway, a little jog around the circle path took me to a blue switch. When I pressed it, I could tell somethin' happened.
But I'm not sure what. At the moment, anyway. I pressed another blue switch, however, I knew exactly what this one did. It raised the water levels, bringin' the snake up to my level. I rode it to a mysterious green switch, and then to a red switch.
When the snake span me to an open door, three lights signallin' the colours of the switches I pressed made me realise that those switches, when pressed together, would open that door. Jumpin' off the snake, I took the new path.
BGM Change: Danger, Chased by Rock
I followed this pathway to a large cliff, protected by several pillars. I had a look beyond the pillars, but it was just darkness. Nothin' but the dark. So you can see why I kept movin' cautiously.
Inside the two openin' doors, I found this next room was complete darkness, too. Until I realised that I could use some lights and the mirrors to light up my way. So I did, all the way to the next bit.
As I stepped on the water ever so slightly, I was tripped, and forced ahead. I could control where I was goin', but I couldn't get back up.
This is probably the right way anyway, so I'll just roll with it, I thought, landin' in an area with a large pool and some platforms.
I got to the other side, though some fiery blocks were in the hall. Despite this, I pressed on, eventually makin' it to some massive square room. On the other end, I pressed a blue switch, which moved some of the tiles on the wall. Pressin' it again slotted them into place, as a pink arrow appeared in the middle of them. I walked up to it, and found that these things defied gravity.
Cool. I used this to find another tile control switch, which instantly turned another set of tiles gravity-free. Heh.
"Tiles: Now gravity-free! Call and get your gravity-defyin' tiles FREE!" I joked, runnin' along the walls to an area with a small tunnel to another gravity switch. I pressed that and ran along these tiles, over to a room with a switch in the middle.
This switch revealed a buncha platforms that I could use to get to this next room, where a small loop laid. I sped through this and uncovered somethin'...incredible.
Level C Complete
The red ball light from earlier led me to the far end of the room, givin' me a closer view of what I saw.
"Whoa...a mural?" I asked, starin' at the blue monster on the wall. "Is that...Chaos?"
A light enveloped me before I could properly think about that.
When I woke, I discovered some weird place. I don't know how to describe it, but I could see somethin' burnin'. What could be burnin'? Is someone in trouble? I had to go look.
What I saw confused me. Some girl was starin' into the fire. She had her back to me.
"Why...why does this have to happen?" the girl asked, turnin' around and showin' me her tears that were slowly fallin' down her face. "It's terrible...I have to stop it!"
She ran up to the green gem that was in the altar...was that the Master Emerald? And why does this girl look like Knuckles?
What's goin' on here?
Before I could even think about this, the light appeared again. As soon as I came to, I found that it was evening, and I was back outside the ruin.
I was confused. "What was that? It can't be a dream..."
Just then, I saw Eggman and his two slave 'bots fly overhead. "What's he doing? Doesn't matter, I'll finish him!"
I followed the giant talkin' egg to a tunnel he built in this place, where I found his secret base, far from the Egg Carrier. That crashed, anyway. What sort of secrets could this base have...?
As I entered, I found the usual Eggman conventions, like random neon lights, metallic background, all that machinery stuff. Over on the other side, I found some buttons that were connected to a door on the wall.
"A puzzle? Nice one, Egghead," I commented, pressin' a series of these buttons. Through much frustration and anger, I figured out the passcode, and entered the tunnel behind the door.
This is it. The final stretch between me and the Egg.
Final Egg
Action Stage
BGM: Mechanical Resonance
This final road started off with me destroyin' a 'bot and jumpin' over a couple lasers. I then sped under some more lasers, which took me to a wall of lasers.
"Oh, how am I ever gonna get past this?" I sarcastically asked, destroyin' all the machines that provided those lasers. I feel sorry for them.
Later, I found myself dodgin' some spikes along a conveyor belt, and speedin' along a spinnin' tube. They weren't difficult to maneuver across. I even found myself in the depths of Eggman's base before long.
BGM Change: Crank the Heat Up!
Jumpin' past these platforms, Homing Attacking these spinny-bots allowed me to speed down a pathway that ended with me leapin' to some more plats. Plats equals platforms, by the way. I must say, this lil' section here reminded me of some of Chris' video games. Did Eggman get his inspiration from those games? I doubt it, but that'd be pretty cool.
These plats brought me to another hall, which sent me to the floor of the room, where a switch opened it up.
"Whoa, that's some drop. I better not drop down there," I noticed, lookin' down. I'm bein' serious, that's a big drop. I might not be able to survive that. I'm not gonna risk it, so I used some spinnies (seriously Eggman better tell me the names of these things or I'll destroy him even faster than I would normally) to get to the other side. Hammers obstructed where I wanted to go, but I still managed to get from plat A to plat B, then to plat C and so on.
Plat D was right outside an elevator, so I used that to continue on. More spinnies were here, though they didn't last for long. More platforms brought me to a second elevator - where this one was larger, and spider-like.
I entered it, and it took me straight down.
BGM Change: Mechanical Resonance
Exiting the spider-vator, I Spin Dashed down the sloped hallway, to a room filed with strange robotic creatures. How does Eggy come up with these things?
I used a Light Speed Attack on all these things, but as they kept on appearin', I realised that I should keep movin' and not waste my time here. So I stopped attackin' and I moved on. Past some plats and hoverin' fans, I entered another room full of those things. Rememberin' how they kept appearin', I didn't bother dealin' with 'em.
Through an opened door and then into a small tunnel, I found myself droppin' down a HUGE drop. I survived, of course, but wow. That was an impressive drop. I applaud Eggman for wastin' space like that. As soon as I touched a plat, I followed the fan trail, and then followed the length of the followin' hallway.
There was another room filled with those things from earlier, but I ignored them and went on to destroy some more 'bots. Soon, I found some weird dolls that looked just like Tails, Knuckles and me.
"Huh. Eggman likes playin' with dolls? Cute," I mocked, speedin' past the dolls of my friends. I admit, I was a little creeped out. I just hope these are used for target practice or somethin'.
Anyway, in the next room, I destroyed Eggman's 'bots, and dashed across the platforms that led me to a view of a metal version of Eggman's face.
Ewww.
Level C Complete
Noticin' a small path off the right, I followed it to a humongous room, with nothin' but platforms to stand on. I jumped onto one set, and greeted Eggman's new 'killer' robot. It had two spiky circly-things on the side of the head, and it was pointed. The body had several sections.
All in all, it looked easy to beat.
"If it isn't my best friend Sonic!" Eggman greeted. "I'm not surprised you made it here. Now, our final battle begins...NOW!"
Egg Viper
Boss Battle
"Go, my Egg Viper!"
Eggman started off by shootin' some red lasers at me. I dodged easily.
No, seriously. They weren't fast enough.
Stupidly, Eggman opened the cockpit, revealin' his face in all it's ugly form. I attacked him with a Homing Attack, dealin' considerable damage.
That's when he started firin' some more of those fiery lasers at me, but this time, he aimed a charged laser shot at me, activating a huge, fiery explosion. I was, of course, fast enough to dodge it.
Eggface started to charge up a blue laser attack, but I used a chain of Homing Attacks to reach the doctor himself. This jump allowed me to get to the other side of plats. He tried his lasers and charged lasers again, though he never realised that I kept dodgin' all of them. When he tried chargin' that blue laser, I did my thing.
He's not puttin' up much of a fight. I ended up back on the original set of platforms I landed on in the start of the fight.
"Get a load of this!" Eggman yelled, firin' more of those pointless lasers. They never hit, just like how he never learns.
The guy had a new tactic though - it was hoverin' above the plats and continuously firin' lasers. LIKE THAT WOULD WORK.
One failed blue attack later, and I was on the other set of platforms, dodgin' lasers and the like.
It was here when he tried somethin' new. He launched one of his spiked disks, which I immediately jumped on and waited for it to return to sender. I then used a Homing Attack, attacking it for about the fourth time? Fifth? Third? I wasn't keepin' count.
"Hey, Eggman, step up!" I taunted.
"Oh? All systems, full power!" he returned, chargin' through the plats on the other side of the room.
Heh, this is all I need! I thought, while Eggman destroyed the two platforms at the far end of the set I was on.
My enemy tried his spiked-disks tactic again, but that failed. Miserably. He tried it again - destroying two more platforms at the other end of the set, leaving about four. Needless to say, I landed my final attack.
'Cept, Eggman decided to go all kamikaze on me, aimlessly pilotin' the 'viper to the plat I was on. Skillfully, I moved out the way just in time.
Heh. Brave move, Egghead.
Brave move.
Battle End
I grabbed the rocket outta the base, and back to the mountain region just outside the ruins. Some might say it looks like Mystic Ruins from back home.
But it wasn't, obviously.
As Eggman flew away, I saw my best pal fly by, so I started runnin' along side him.
We kept runnin' together, sharin' our stories, and havin' a great time. It reminded me of things back on our world. Someday...we'll return. I just know it.
"Well Tails, that's another adventure wrapped up!" I told him, thumbing-up my best friend.
"Correct!" he replied, givin' me a thumbs-up in return.
Tails is probably the best friend a guy could have. And Eggman...he's the worst nemesis a guy could ask for.
But at least all I had to do now was to relax.

And I won't give in, won't compromise
I just only have a steadfast heart of gold.

But I ain't out of control, just livin' by my word
Don't ask me why, I don't need a reason

It doesn't matter now what happens I will never give up the fight
There is no way I will run away from all of my frights
Long as the voice inside me says go, I will always keep on runnin'
There is no way to stop me from going to the very top
It doesn't matter who is wrong or who is right.
Well, I won't look back, I don't need to

Place all your bets on the one you think is right.
It doesn't matter now what happens I will never give up the fight
There is no way I will run away from all of my frights
Long as the voice inside me says go, I will always keep on running
There is no way to stop me from going to the very top
It doesn't matter who is wrong or who is right.
Author Notes: Phew, this is a long one, isn't it? Longer than my other fic, DBZ: Power of Unknown.
Gee. Just goes to show. I still need to figure out how to beat this site's formatting...
Also, because of this block a chapter...
We've reached 200,000 words! Hoorah!
