A/N: I know you all probably hate me right now. I can't believe it has been almost a year since I updated this fic, and I honestly can't believe why I have left it in the dust - other than the fact that my education is grinding me down into the deepest pits - don't do Sixth Form kids. xD Anyway, I am hoping that this chapter will offer all you loyal fans, and myself, a chance to redeem myself. AFK isn't the phrase here… And I apologise severely. I never thought this story would get so many views and likes. ^~^

When she said she wanted a dog, this wasn't quite what she meant.
"Kagome? Do you not like him?" Her mother looked upon the scene with slight concern. When she had first seen the puppy, she had assumed it would be perfect for her 21-year-old daughter. Now, she wasn't so sure. "He looks to be an Akita-Malamute cross, Kagome, and the silver fur, I thought, would remind you-"
"I know, Mama."
The blue-eyed girl then looked up at her mother, holding the puppy up at eye-level. Its gaze was a light brown, and the puppy looked ordinary, just with a shine to its coat. "He is cute, and maybe he is what I need."
Kagome had been living in her own apartment for the last two years. Ever since the well closed, she could not handle seeing the blank concrete slab of where the mythical teleport used to reside. All of Kagome's friends were gone. She would have believed she had imagined it all if it were not for her mother, brother and grandfather having been there to assure her she wasn't crazy.
Looking down at the silvery fur of the pup, a smile adorned her pale face. The canine had started to lick her bare arm, shoving his nose into the crook of her elbow. A whine erupted from the little creature and Kagome felt a laugh bubble in her throat.
"Mama, he is adorable." The older woman smiled, and her eyes closed in delight.
"Well, you have a job now, and he will grow to be quite big, but I thought you could use a friend."
'My mother always knows what I need. Even now.' "Thank you so much. I must get going, to get this guy some supplies! How does that sound, Taka?" The dog let out a little 'yip' and she smiled. "Let's go home."
Three days later, Kagome had started noticing strange things. She put things in places, and then the next day, they had been moved to other spots. At first, she thought it was Taka but things from the top of her bookshelf, like the photo of her and the gang, had been moved to her kitchen counter. Her pup could not have done that. The strange occurrences aside, Kagome began to think about her friends. It had happened earlier, too. She had seen a man with long, white hair enter the establishment and order an Espresso, before immediately walking out after. The black-haired girl hadn't gotten a look...
Kagome sighed as she opened the door to her apartment. Immediately, a white fluff came barrelling towards her, smiling and yipping and wagging his tail. Tired, Kagome briefly patted his head before placing her keys in the dish. "Hey boy. I had a hard day today." Hearing that, the pup stopped yipping. Walking alongside her, they both entered the living room and Kagome lay herself on the sofa. Quickly, Taka jumped up next to her, pushing her more towards the back of the sofa and laying next to her. "I miss being a Miko, Taka."
The dog's ears perked up at that, and he lifted his head up from where he had placed it on her stomach. "I miss being important, having a purpose. I miss fighting demons, and humans. I miss having my friends." Kagome's eyes had started watering and she placed an arm over her eyes, trying to stifle the tears.
"Even though we all made mistakes, even though I wasn't able to save everyone, at least I could try." Now, the tears were streaming down her face, escaping the attempted block of her arm. "I hate being here, Taka. I just want to go home." The girl sounded distraught, and the pup just snuggled closer to her, rubbing his face against any skin he could reach.
Kagome reached an arm out then, rolling onto her side and revealing her crying face, before placing the arm over Taka's body. She smiled through her tears then, only slight, but it was there. "You're getting bigger, boy." Confusion confronted Kagome as she sat up, and carefully lifted the dog's face so she could see it better.
Along the canine's cheeks, there were two stripes. Two Prussian stripes adorned both cheeks and were jagged in shape. "Where did these come from?" Carefully, she stroked the stripes and heard a strange purr erupt from the dog. "Taka?"
Instantly, the dog jumped onto her, and she squeezed her eyes shut. Pressure was pressed against her shoulders, and she held her breath. Suddenly, the dog was not as light as the puppy he was and opening her eyes, she gasped.
"Sesshomaru?!" The silver hair and the stripes made her assume this, but the warm chuckle that came from the thin-lipped mouth told her otherwise.
"Please, dear one, I am not Sesshomaru. Look harder." The hands on her shoulders tightened their grip, and she looked at the tanned arms keeping her pinned to the sofa. Taka - who was definitely not Taka - placed his knees on either side of her legs and caged her body to the recliner.
Kagome immediately gripped his forearms, and felt power well up in her. "Demon…" Luminescent pink began glowing around her fingers, and it sent zings of excitement through them both at her show of power and bravery.
"Now Kagome." The girl looked up at the man towering over her, and saw golden eyes. Familiar, golden eyes. "The Inu No Taisho…" Kagome's hands left his forearms, and she tilted her head slightly, exposing her throat.
Inuyasha had, when he and Sesshomaru had decided to team up and bring the West back to its previous power, taught her the ways of showing respect, and submission was the very first one.
Without hesitation, the Inu No Taisho lowered his head and sniffed at her exposed throat. "Hm, my sons taught you well, dear Kagome."
"Why are you here?" Her voice was slightly shaky because, despite her previous panic, Kagome could feel the powerful demon's breath on her neck and it was causing a strange feeling in her body. "We all thought you were dead."
The Inu scoffed. "I was dead. Now, I am not. When the Shikon was destroyed, there was a last call for a solution. Little Midoriko knew humans and half-demons could never solve such corruption. Sesshomaru," the demon took another sniff, and Kagome could have swore there was a brief scrape of teeth, "as powerful as he is, could never retain such corruption without falling. The only reason I fell was because I protected my son." One of his hands moved from her shoulder, and the large appendage wrapped itself around her thigh, pushing her skirt up slightly.
"Sir…" A groan erupted from the dog-demon then, and he pushed himself away from the girl.
"Do not call me that, otherwise next time, you may find yourself in a completely different position, little Kagome. My name is Toga."
Looking down at her with molten eyes, Toga adjusted the robe he had around himself. It was white, and definitely was not hiding his desires. "Now, desireable little Miko." He could smell her arousal in the air, and it took everything he had to not mount her, and punish her for smelling so divine. "I was a dog, as you could tell. This was a way of observing the world, and growing with it. I have been in "Tokyo" since its foundation. I have stayed in my dog form, waiting for the one that was chosen by Midoriko."
"How have I never sensed you?"
"How have you never found Sesshomaru?"
"He's here?!" The male nodded, before offering a hand to her. "Did I lose my powers?"
"No. They were dormant; your emotional turmoil activated them, and in so, triggered my daiyoukai awakening. I knew who you were from first sight, Kagome."
"Toga… I am so confused." The girl took his hand, and she was led through the living room and into the kitchen.
"Sesshomaru made me aware of who you were, and when I first saw you, I knew I must have you. You work in the coffee shop opposite the pet shop where I resided."
The 21-year-old's face was bright red at this point, and she pressed herself against the corner counter of the kitchen, keeping a close eye as the dog took step after step towards her.
"W-w-want me?"
"Oh Kagome, " the look in his eyes was predatory, "I most definitely want you."
Yes, it has been almost a year. Yes, I am a horrible person. xD My education has been driving me nuts. BUT FINALLY I pumped something out. This chapter was extremely rocky because it had been so long. Again, sorry for that, but hopefully, as i get into the groove of it again, they will become better and better! Thanks for reading and I hope to hear what you think!
