Danny:
Danny struggled against the aura that held him against the wall but his efforts were in vain. The force holding him to the wall was greater than that of a biotic shockwave. No matter how hard he struggled, it just wouldn't work.
He gave it one more try, and when it didn't work he decided to sit back and watch what Ty and Shepard were doing. Saren was holding Shepard in the air by the neck, and had the plasma cutter that Danny made morphable. It kept looking like Shepard would get the upper hand throughout the entire fight, but Saren always had one more trick up his sleeve.
"Damn, what are we going to do?"
Danny looked over at Cody who made the comment. "Sit here, because we sure as hell can't get out of this aura stuff."
"Wait", Cody began moving one of his fingers and his thumb toward each other. "Maybe we can break this stuff with our powers. That's what Ty did, after all."
Danny shook his head in dismay. "Ty jumped into Shepard and did something else. I don't know if we-"
He cut himself off as Cody managed to touch his fingers and cause the aura to break. Without looking back, Cody reached back and touched him making the aura fade and drop him. As soon as he landed, Danny turned around to help Liara but she was up above them, just out of reach.
"Go ahead, I will be fine."
He found himself looking around by her, trying to find a nonexistent glitch. He would have continued to look but something tapped on his shoulder and he turned to see Cody. Behind him was Saren, who was firing a Halo 4 SAW with extreme prejudice.
"We have to get that rifle."
Cody looked at him. "How do you plan to do that?"
"I don't know, I haven't planned that far ahead."
Danny began searching over the area looking for glitches, but the only one that he could see that would be of any help was on the ceiling.
"I have a glitch on the ceiling that I can use, but I don't think I can fall that far and not hurt myself. Any ideas?"
Cody pointed back toward the left side of the tower. "There is a hover car over there. If we can get to it maybe I can get us a vehicle to use."
Danny took off running for the car without a reply, and heard his friend trying to keep up. Taking the risk, he looked to his right and saw that Shepard was free of Saren's fire and managed to take cover at the stairs. Within seconds of his glance, they were at the hovercar and Cody was hitting it with his hand.
The car was surrounded by matrix code, and morphed slowly until it fully took shape as a Wraith. "Well, that's not what I expected."
Cody walked up to the Wraith and climbed up it. "Not what I wanted, but for now; we got a tank."
A smile came to Danny's lips, and he hopped into the turret. "Lets do this!"
The tank accelerated and Danny felt his head snap back.
"Watch the boost there, bro. Don't need you trying to snap my neck."
Cody's voice was muffled from inside the tank, but Danny heard him.
"Alright, just trying to figure out controls. I think this one is the strafe."
The tank fired off a volley only to have it soar over Saren's head smash into a wall on the opposite side of the tower. "Um, that wasn't it."
The shot caught the attention of Saren, who immediately turned to them and changed his SAW into a fatman loaded with a mini-nuke. Danny felt his eye twitch, and time slowed down as Saren prepared to fire. They were dead.
Luck, however, had something else in mind, as Shepard rushed Saren and smashed his fist into him. Saren fell backward, and the gun went flying across the room. Danny squinted and saw that Shepard had a golden aura surrounding his fist.
The golden glow of the faded out of Shepard's fist as Saren began dispersing into particles.. Following his punch, he grabbed his pistol and turned around aiming it at the platform across from where the Council stands. He waited a second as Saren began to form until his head was fully formed. Then Shepard shot him in the face before his legs had assembled.
The shot forced Saren backwards, and he fell off the edge and into the greenhouse pit. Danny grabbed the side of the turret, and hoisted himself out. On his way down from the tank he saw Ty step out of Shepard's chest and walk over to Tali.
After joining them, Danny kneeled down and looked at his friend. "So, how are we going to fix this?"
Ty dipped his hands in her blood and brought it up to his face. "We don't, I owe her nothing and this is what she deserves."
There was a loud thwack as Shepard smacked Ty in the back of the head. "What are you saying, can you bring her back or not?"
The look on Ty's face was of stone and calculating. "Maybe, but the fact is that I don't want to."
Shepard grabbed him by the collar and lifted him to his face. "You bring her back right now."
There was a slight pause followed by Ty belting Shepard so hard that he stepped backwards and dropped him.
"Don't you tell me what to do. The only reason you had the power to defeat Saren was because I found it necessary to continue. This... thing, isn't needed to continue."
Shepard tried to take a swing at him but he used the same trick that Saren did- only this time, Shepard was covered in red aura and lifted off the ground. Danny looked down at the dead quarian and thought back to what she had told him on their short time on the Citadel together. She said that there was a connection to Ty that she only felt when she closed her eyes.
Placing his hand over one of the swords, he began to focus on restoring them to his assault rifle. He lifted the swords out one by one and they began combining together and changed shape. Soon, he held his rifle in his hands, but now the wounds were pouring blood.
His mind raced. Ty seemed to have better control over bodies when he embeded them with a direct connection, he thought. Without a word, Danny shoved his hand into the shreds of Tali's chest and the rift appeared.
Code ran through Danny's vision, and he had no idea what to do. Deciding to start with basics he looked for the code for her wounds. As quickly as he thought it, the appropriate chunk of code was highlighted and lifted from the mass. Danny started changing the code to it's original form with his thoughts until it was finished. He just needed to restart her heart, but was yanked away from her before he could.
"Stop it", Ty roared at him.
Danny looked at Shepard and saw he was floating in the air in the same green aura. "What the hell, Ty? Why aren't you letting us fix her?"
Ty picked Danny up by the collar and hoisted him high. "Because, she is a living limiter! If you bring her back, I will lose all the power I have now!"
Sending a swift kick to Ty's gut, Danny broke away and pulled out his sword. "Ty don't do this. She has just as much right to live as us."
"She has the right to live? She is just inanimate code! They all are! We are the only real people here!"
Danny felt his grip on his sword dwindle a bit but then tighten. "They may be code, but what they have felt is real. The loss of Kaidan, all the deaths, and us have taken the toll on them. It's our responsibility to see them through this now. Especially, with how you gave Saren all his power."
There was a golden glow returned but this time it was on Ty's fist. "I am going to send-"
Ty dropped on his face and passed out on the ground. "That ought to fix him."
Danny turned around and saw Cody standing over Tali with his omni-tool activated. "You brought her back?"
Cody nodded. "Parked the tank by the pit and came to help."
"What the hell was wrong with Ty? We killed Saren, right?"
Danny turned back to see Liara helping Shepard up. "I think the power got to his head."
Shepard walked over to Ty and kicked his side. "You guys are the most screwed up people in the galaxy. You know that?"
Ty:
I had to force my eyes open and what they took into focus. I was laying on the ground across from where Tali had died but she wasn't there anymore. Part of my head rejoiced at the knowledge that the power I had was gone but the other side was angry which made me realize that my emotions were back.
"Damn it."
Upon, saying that I was grabbed by the collar and lifted into the air. "Ty, you fucking User bastard!"
I grabbed the hand and saw it was Shepard. "What do you want? Tali is alive, and I can't do what I did before. You won."
Shepard's grip tightened, but he dropped me. "Fine, but why did you do it?"
I looked at my hand and flexed it a few times. "The power I had was like a drug Shepard. It felt good, like I could change anything and get us through. In my mind, one life will be worth what's to come."
His attention dropped a little bit, as he remembered what Saren gave him, but he was back before anyone else could notice. "Alright, well, Tali is opening the arms of the Citadel. Even though I was going to let the Council die, Hackett saved them so we are weaker and I don't know if we can take down Sovereign."
I nodded but felt a little disappointment over the fact that Shepard wasn't a paragon like I intended. Pointing at the controls, he had Danny and me follow him to the platform.
Once we were there, Danny leaned over and whispered in my ear, "Uh, isn't this when-"
I popped him in the stomach and put my hand to my lips, motioning him to shut up.
He caught my drift and shut up s we waited for the inevitable fight between us and sovereign. There was just a few seconds left and if felt like hours. Shepard was telling everyone to attack Sovereign, and then it began.
The room shook and we all got dumped forward into the pit. I managed to land on my back, but Danny and Tali knocked heads and were rolling on the floor from the shock. Liara and Cody were still up above us hanging from the railing, so it was just Shepard and me.
Sovereign stood in the remains of Saren's body and towered over us. "Finally, we speak to the User."
Shepard stepped in front of my with his pistol drawn. "Yeah, and that's all you are going to say."
He fired a shot but the robot darted out of the way to fast and latched onto a wall. "Silence Shepard. We know you are going to kill us. It is one of the inevitable truths that comes to fruition in this game."
I grabbed my pistol off my belt and leveled it to take the shot. "So, stand still and lets make this quick."
Sovereign leaped over to us and smacked us across the room with one of his hands. "We know we will die. But we can plan for the future. The collectors already have Saren's gifts. They are waiting for you, User."
Shepard and I got back to our feet, and fired short controlled bursts at Sovereign while it leaped around. It managed to jump around in the correct patterns so that we wouldn't get many shots in, making it difficult to get and keep a bead on it. Eventually, even though they were weaker shot for shot, we switched to our assault rifles and began to push Sovereign to try more desperate maneuvers.
He started lobbing missiles at us, but Shepard and I quickly countered that by taking positions on opposite sides of the room. This way, when he was firing at one of us the other could take his health down. Starting with Shepard, he began firing his missiles but he was near the rock formation so he took cover and was fine.
When the bastard got a bead on me, it got a little more tricky. I had to dodge, dip, duck and dive to get away, because my section was out in the open. This added challenge kept Sovereign in one place, and Shepard managed to do some serious damage on him.
Just as it was looking like we were about to win, the citadel shifted, and we both flew over to the right side of the greenhouse. It took me some doing, but Shepard got to my aid. We were both up and ready to move, when I caught something in the corner of my eye. Danny had the launcher Saren created, and it was still loaded. All I had to do was keep him in one place.
I motioned for Shepard to keep his assault rifle down. "Hey, Sovereign, I beat Saren and his gifts. What makes you think I won't be able to defeat the Collectors?"
Sovereign paused on the ceiling and looked at me. "Because, you had Shepard's help to defeat Saren. The collectors, you will be facing alone."
I froze then and there at what he said. I will be alone?
To my luck, Danny was able to take the shot and hit him right in the ass. Sovereign lit up like a roman candle and blew apart before us. Just like that it was over.
Shepard gave me a pat on the back, and put his assault rifle on his back. "Let's go see how the others are doing."
I followed his lead, and we ran over to Danny and Tali. On our way, I looked up at where Liara and Cody were, and saw that they had climbed up to the top. That must be how Danny got the launcher. They threw it down to him.
I walked up to Danny and gave him a high five. "Nice man, you finished it."
Danny shrugged. "Yes, yes I did."
"You don't get any style points for it though!" We looked up and flipped Cody off.
Danny looked up at the window. "Uh, Ty, I think we forgot one more thing."
I looked at him questioningly. "What?"
Danny pointed at the window to the outside and when I looked, I saw a giant piece of the actual Sovereign flying in our direction. "Oh, that."
Shepard grabbed us by the collars and pointed at it. "Can't you guys hack the mainframe and make the glass unbreakable?"
I shrugged sarcastically. "Yeah, sure because all my powers derive from a fucking mainframe."
Shepard looked up at the glass and then back to the ledge where Liara was. "Can't we get up there?"
I grabbed Shepard's shoulder and shook my head. "Yeah, I suggest you start praying to God now… because I have zero ideas."
I glanced back at the wreckage, and saw it pierce the glass.
Hope this will stop the belly aching with yall now. Tali is back hooray? Am I really happy about this? What happen's next? How many chapters are left? What did Sovereign mean by ty facing the Collectors alone? How are they going to survive the incoming pieces of Sovereign? Why am I asking all these questions?
Oh, I know, it's because I am tired and need to go to bed.
