The long trek around the block and down the road to the Black's in the dark does not start off easy, but everyone is able to make it out in one piece by the end. It takes about an hour to navigate the entire block to the edge of town and feeling through the darkness to finally come upon the Black mansion. With Bebe and Wendy at the head, the group limps cautiously closer to the pointy, obsidian draw gates. The two girls then part at the center of the gate's closed opening. They look back into the mass of fourth graders until Nicole emerges. She holds a golden key in her hand. Even in the darkest of night, the dullest streetlamp catches a glimpse of the fancy, metal artifact and it gleams, revealing an even more intricately weaved design. "Token gave me this key when we started dating," she explains as she pushes it into the giant, rusty lock in between the gateway doors. "He said that anyone that is in a time of need- anyone at all- is welcome under his family's roof. That's exactly the reason we need to take that offer. We may never ever see him or any of the other superhumans again either. And it would be disrespectful not to honor their last wishes. I only hope his parents understand it. Honestly, after all we've been through already, I feel like this is still the hardest thing we'll have to do so far. I can't imagine how to deal with Token's parents' faces after we've told them they may never see their son again. But we have to do this for him. For all of them, all of us, and all of the town." Nicole speaks no more words as she turns the key with a sharp, fracturing click.

The enormous gates open in the "night" with an ominous creak. The blackness of the railings blend in with the night, making it near impossible to not bump into the them. The only things lighting the way are the glowing eyes of mysterious creatures watching from afar. Whenever someone rams themselves painfully into the side gate, it startles a creature and it runs off, taking one of their guiding lights with them. By the time the whole group gets completely in the massive courtyard and Nicole closes the gate behind them the best she can, nothing can be seen. The hooks of the old gate doors lock together with a creaky click. The surrounding atmosphere then goes completely dark and the crowd falls silent. No one makes a visible move or even bothers to make a sound. The only noise that does happenstance to meet anyone's ears is the short huff of breath let out silently through Craig's nose as he carefully adjusts the position of his strained arms. Tweek was getting awfully restless and it takes a while for Craig to realize just how uncomfortable it must be having no leg support. He quickly but quietly tosses the blond boy's legs up and over his right arm for more comfortable support.

Just then, another ominous creak much greater than that emanating from the gateway sounds overhead as a blinding light appears up the path. Everyone squints and panics as two tall figures appear in the doorway silhouetted by the light showing down the steps of the Black manor. The girls in the front stand in awkward defensive positions as the eldritch creatures of the night squeal at the bright light. La Resistance screams in tired, hoarse voices. Wendy and Bebe are just about ready to fight to the death to defend their classmates when Nicole steps in front of them, her back to the stream of hellish light. The girls can't make out much of the detail of their friend's face, but the can tell it is her. The figures of her round, puffy pigtails jut out from the back of her head, "Stop! Do not attack them!" At first the girls find it hard to tell if she speaks to them or the two figures in the doorway.

But then one of them speaks, "Nicole? Is that you?" Everyone then jolts in surprise. The voice is a woman's voice and very familiar. Could it really be?

"Yes, Mrs. Black. It's me," Nicole answers assuredly. "Can you please help us? Our class needs shelter. Is it safe inside of your house?"

"Um, yes it is," Mrs. Black replies. "Please come in, children. We tried to get a hold of you but Token won't answer any of his five phones. We were getting really worried."

Nicole nods, "Thank you. I need to talk to both of you about him after we've gotten settled in." She then turns around to address the rest of La Resistance. "Alright, listen up. We'll have better chances of not getting ambushed here since there is maximum security. We can heal up here while we wait for a sign from the others. The Blacks have more than enough rooms for all of us. It's safe to go in, so we should probably go and get patched up as opposed to waiting out here for something else to happen. The Black's hired a top notch doctor, so we should at least have all the supplies we need." With that, the girl waves for everyone to follow her into the towering mansion. Mr. and Mrs. Black step to either side as the children enter the doorway. Wendy ducks under the massive door frame as she walks past, not meeting the adults' eyes. She doesn't need them to feel them peeling the through the crowd of kids walking into their owners' home for their son.

Anxiously, she picks up her pace. When she catches up to Bebe, she whispers in her ear, "How will we tell them?" Bebe looks at her and then shakes her head indicate that she is out of advice.
