Me: And I'm back!
Crystal: You seemed to be pretty happy today!
Me: That's because my graduation is coming soon! I'll be finished with high school and head to college!
Crystal: Congrats! Back to the topic, shall we start the next chapter?
Me: Yep! But I'll warn you, that you might hate me for this when the chapter is done.
Crystal: And why's that?
Me: You'll find out soon. I don't own Yugioh 5ds btw. R&R as always.
Chapter 51
"EH?! YOU WERE KIDNAPPED BY THE DARK SIGNERS?!" Rua exclaimed.
"Rua, don't say anything like that out loud!" Ruka scolded.
"Uh...sorry," Rua shrank back, giving me an apologetic look.
I reassure him that it's fine and looked at everyone else (except Yusei) who seemed shock after telling them my story. So far, we're still inside the helicopter on our way to Satellite, and we learned about the Zero Reverse incident from Mikage, which was an overload effect from the Momentum system which sends massive negative energy to Earth, split the Domino City into two, and causes a lot of casualties. We also learned that Yusei's father was the supervisor of M.I.D.S, discovered the momentum energy, and was one of the victims of the Zero Reverse incidents. We had all come to realize the fate of Dr. Fudo in dismay. Then a while later, Yusei had asked me of what happen when I was kidnapped by the Dark Signer Lair, and I'll be honest with you, it wasn't a pleasant memory to remember.
"Yeah, it's true," I said smugly to them, remembering the incident back at the Dark Signer lair, "They held me in prison since they thought that I'm a Crimson Star Guardian, which is kinda true."
"How many were there?" Yusei asked calmly.
"There were four when I got there. Kiryu and the female Dark Signer I dueled back at the orphanage were present there in case you were going to ask," I answered.
"Was Misty there with them?" Aki asked.
Remembering about the woman with the lizard mark, I shook my head, "No. She wasn't even there when I first woke up."
"Then, the girl you mentioned earlier with the same birthmark, she was kidnapped as well, wasn't she?" Rua asked and I nodded, "Is she still there? Did she escape?"
"Honestly, I don't know," I told him. But either way, I hope she is still alive.
Later, Yusei spotted the orphanage ahead of us and demanded Ushio to land there. From the looks of it, Ushio doesn't like to be told what to do so he complies, but Mikage assures him to land anyway, so he did. Eventually, we landed on the solid ground and board of the helicopter to see Martha and everyone else waiting for us.
"Oh, Jack!" Martha ran up to the certain blonde hair duelist excitedly, "It's been a long time Jack!"
"Martha!" Jack replied nervously, "Err...I know it's been years since I left here, but..."
"But there's still policy for growing up," Martha finished for him, "Now Jack, as goes by saying, a king always..." she said while holding out a hand to him.
"WHAT?!" Jack shouted in embarrassment.
Pfft...HAHAHA! This is going to be fun! I thought while laughing so hard. Then, Yusei and I each gave Jack a look saying 'do it!' in which he returned a glare saying 'no'. But we continued to give him the same smirks at him until he gave in and went down on his one knee and held Martha's hand
"A king always shows respect to a lady," Jack said as he kisses Martha's hand.
"Oh Jack, you're such a good boy!" Martha exclaimed and hugged Jack tightly.
"H-Hey! Martha!" he gasped.
I continued to laugh so hard as Martha continued to embarrass him until a certain scarlet hair duelist came by, "Hahaha! Well isn't that hilarious!"
"Akane! Hey!" I jumped up excitedly to see her okay. However, I only received pinches on both side of my cheeks from her in response, "Mmrph...fey, wat re you foing?!"
As I pried Akane's hand away from my sore cheeks and rubbed them, Akane smirked at me, "I just want to make sure you're the real Crystal I know. And it looks like you pass!"
I glared at her, "Was that even necessary?!"
Akane waved her arms in defense, "Hey, it's as people said, 'You can't be to careful sometimes'. I mean, you do know what happened here few days ago."
I grunted. I admit that she was right, considering that the Dark Signer Crystal tried to kill us, but that doesn't mean she had to annoy me like this. Irritated with her so called greetings, I pinched her cheek and stretched it a bit. However, that action gave myself a pound on my head from her.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING YOU BITCH?!" Akane yelled at me while I rubbed my head in pain. Yep, that's the usual Scarlet Flame Huntress. I looked up, only to realized that Ushio was glaring at Akane.
"Hey Crystal, isn't that..." Akane started to ask.
"Yeah, that's him," I answered, "He seemed to recognized us already."
"Martha, is everyone okay?" we turned around to see Yusei talking to Martha, "It seems quiet here."
Martha frowned in response and gesture us to come inside, so she can explain.
Once we walked inside the orphanage, I took a seat next to Akane and heard Martha's story with everyone else.
"Yesterday, there was a black fog that spread around in Satellite, and those who were caught within, disappear all of the sudden," Martha explained with a worry tone, "But luckily, the fog didn't reach here so we were safe. Unfortunately, I wouldn't say the same thing for everyone else."
"Taka, Blitz, Nervin, Rally, and Crow hadn't returned so they might have fallen victim to the fog," Saiga added.
"And I did want to go out and tried to find them myself, but Martha suggested that I shouldn't since I could be taken away too," Akane said, clutching her hands together, "Though, I had a bad feeling Saiga might be right about them disappearing."
"No way," I muttered and looked down on the ground and I noticed Yusei did the same. Now were completely worry about them.
"Ah, are you perhaps the Senator's daughter?" Martha asked the burgundy hair duelist.
"Yes," Aki answered, "I'm his daughter, Izayoi Aki."
"I see. So Yusei, you managed to open her heart's door for her, didn't you? That's good," Martha complimented. I looked up to notice the blushes and their pink auras coming from Yusei and Aki...weird.
"Now Yusei," Martha started speaking again, "Don't tell me you're still afraid of Kiryu, are you?"
"Yeah...and to be honest, I am still afraid of the card he summoned," Yusei answered but with the face of confidence, "But, I still have a lot of friends by my side."
"Don't get he wrong idea," Jack interjected, "I haven't become anyone's friend."
Yusei ignored him, "Once I have a sense of camaraderie, I'll be able to overcome those fears. Besides, Kiryu was once my friend as well."
"Well said Yusei!" Martha nodded approvingly and got up, "So you all are heading to the Dark Signer's base, aren't you?"
We all nodded.
"Then I suggest you all to stay for the night and rest," Martha said, "Right now, I'm gonna get dinner ready."
Suddenly, I got up, "Martha, would it be okay if I help as well?"
"Of course," Martha replied and smiled, "That would be great."
Few minutes later inside the kitchen...
I had already put on my apron and a blue bandana and tied my hair into a low ponytail and started peeling the potatoes when all of a certain, Martha dragged someone inside the kitchen by the ear. And that certain someone was Ushio.
"OW! Hey! What are you doing?!" Ushio yelled.
"It's time to make dinner and you're helping," Martha answered calmly as I stared at the scene blankly.
"Hey hold it, I'm a guest here!" the officer replied.
"Who cares? Now get to work, get to work!" Martha threw the apron at him and then glanced at me, "Crystal, makes sure he does everything properly."
I noticed why she was doing this and winked at her saying 'no problem. I got this'. I turned to Ushio, who was still holding on to the apron Martha had for him.
"Hey, better put it on and do as she says, otherwise, either she'll hit you with the ladle or I'll kick you in the face again like before," I whispered him threateningly, "Honestly, I don't know which one is worse to you."
"Dammit, so you do remember!" Ushio glared at me. I pointed to the apron he was still holding with a knife.
"Put it on, now!"
Ushio grunted in a low tone and finally did. I snickered as he put it on, because the apron Martha gave him has a heart on it. Then, Ushio was working on the correct and dang, he can cut big, which results in Martha smacking him with the ladle.
"OW!" Ushio cried.
"Ushio, here. Cut the carrots smaller like this," I grabbed the extra carrot and swiftly diced them as an example. From the looks of it, he seemed amaze.
"Oh, thanks," Ushio tried again, and although more slowly, he did it better this time. I nodded approvingly and continued to do my own work, "Y'know, you seem to know how to handle this stuff, don't you?"
"That's because I use to do this all the time when I was nine," I told him, "And you don't seem to know how to cook."
Ushio humped, "If it's instant stuff, I can handle that. Things like this, well, that's another story."
I hummed as I thought about his statement, "Well, I don't know if this applies to everyone, but I heard women like men who can cook," I said.
Ushio gasped and looked at me in a disbelieving face, "W-What?! What made you say-"
"Because I know you have a crush on Mikage-san," I replied calmly, which made him blush deeply.
"What! H-How do-"
"How do I know about this?" I finished the question for him, "That is quite obvious by the way you look and react to her."
Ushio blushed even redder and I laughed, "But hey, honestly, I think you and Mikage-san look really cute together."
"Eh?" Ushio scratched his head nervously and smiled a little, "You think so?"
I nodded and took the diced carrots from him and placed it inside the stew, "Yep! Oh, if you continue to do better on this, I'll might become your love therapist and give you some love advices."
"Really?"
"No."
"HEY!" he growled at me, but I only giggled in response. I worked on the dough next for the bread when I noticed Ushio putting his finger on the stew for the temperature. Martha caught him and hit him with the ladle again.
"OW!" he yelled.
"Ushio, next time you want to check to see if the stew is ready, use a spoon," I advised him. He only grunted in response.
"Crystal, can you handle the rest?" Martha asked.
I nodded and let Martha dragged Ushio out of the kitchen by the ear while I continued working in the kitchen.
30 minutes later...
Everyone, even the kids, gather around the table and enjoyed their meal.
"Mmm, these taste great!" one boy replied.
"Yeah, the cool guy from the Security and Crystal nee-chan made it for us!" The spiky blue hair boy name Takuya pointed out excitedly. Everyone else shifted their gazes towards Ushio and me...well...mostly Ushio because it's obvious that they never expected him to cook. The Security Officer blushed and shrank back.
"Thanks mister, it's really good," Takeru replied next to Akane.
"Yeah, thank you!" Kari smiled.
We then returned to our food with Yusei telling the kids that the Daedalus Bridge will be built soon so there won't be anymore discrimination and the kids can become whatever they want, to which they're excited for. Though, I zoned out for most of the conversation mainly because I felt something not right here. I looked up from my stew a bit and saw that Akane was glancing at me, noticing my expression.
"Crystal, what's wrong?" she asked.
Before I can answer, I felt the hair rising on the back of my neck and my eyes glowing again, "Dark Singer..." I started to say, "He's close by. Very close."
As one cue, the windows shattered above us and the kids screamed. Luckily, Yusei, and Martha shielded the children from the broken glass.
"What was that?!" Yusei asked, alerted.
"Is everyone alright?" Martha asked.
A deep laughter was heard outside and we glanced at the window, noticing a Dark Signer in black and red cape. I gasped as I recognized him.
"Rudger!" I exclaimed. He only laughed and let the wind blew his hood away, revealing his face.
"So this is where you've been, young guardian," Rudger said to me, "You're lucky that you didn't suffer the same fate as the other guardian."
I held my breathe when he mentioned another guardian. He couldn't mean...I balled up my fist and glared at him, "Yuna...what did you do to Yuna?!"
He laughed maliciously and stared at me again, "No need to worry. She's still alive, but not for long I'm afraid."
"Damn you..." I muttered angrily. Rudger shifted his gaze at Yusei.
"Fudo Yusei isn't it?" Rudger asked him.
"It is," Yusei replied bitterly, "What is it you want here?"
"Although the girl next to you had already reveal my identity, I'm going to introduce you again," he said, "My name is Rudger and I possess the mark of the Spider," he revealed his arm where the spider mark is glowing, "To make this more interesting, I welcome you to a Shadow Duel!"
As Rudger raised his arm and activated his duel disk, Jack stepped up, "Then bring it on!"
"Wait Jack!" Yusei stepped up in front of him, "It's too dangerous. If we duel here, then Martha and the others will get their soul sacrifice to the Earthbound Immortals. I'll lead him away while you take care of them."
Jack grunted, but then obliged. I step up to Yusei and nodded, "We'll take care of them, Yusei!"
He nodded and turned to Rudger, "I'll accept your challenge. Let's take this somewhere else." He then jumped out of the window and detached his duel disk from his duel runner. Aki decided to follow him while the rest of us followed Martha to the basement. Though, as we kept walking in the hallway, I felt like we're missing some people here. Then, the red glow appeared on Jack's and Ruka's arm.
"Looks like their duel had just started," Jack mumbled.
"I hope Yusei is okay," Ruka said in a worry tone.
"In here everyone," Martha gestured to the door of the basement. Before we can walk in, I noticed couple of worry looks on the girls faces.
"What's wrong?" I asked them.
"Takuya isn't here," one girl replied.
"Neither is Jun or Micchan," the other girl added.
"What did you say?!" Martha gasped.
"And I think Riku nii-chan went to look for them," Takeru suddenly spoke up.
"HE WHAT?!" Akane screeched, "That idiot..."
We dashed outside only to see the spider geoglyph on the sky. I held my breath and shivered.
"This is bad," I mumbled, "If they're near that thing, then their souls will get sucked in."
"I'll go after them," Martha said and run off.
"MARTHA, WAIT!" we cried, but then she disappeared into the fog.
"Damn...Martha, come back! It's too dangerous!" Ushio yelled and ran after her.
"Great! Just great!" Jack said sarcastically, "I'm heading to my Wheel of Fortune!"
"I'll go too," Akane declared.
"Wait!" I told her, "You can't Akane. Your soul is possibly going to offer as a sacrifice to the Earthbound Immortal."
"So you want me to stay here and let my brother's soul get sucked in instead," Akane spoke back, "Not a chance. I already lost a sibling of mine a long time ago. I'm not going to lose another one."
Okay, point taken. She has a point. I sighed, "You think your duel runner has enough fuel to carry both of us?"
Akane grinned and lead me to her duel runner. Once we got here, she tossed my helmet to me, "Girl, you don't need to ask."
I grinned at her and slipped on my helmet. Once I hopped on the back seat of Akane's duel runner and wrapped my arms around her waist, Akane revved her duel runner up and drove to the place where the geoglyph was hovering above. Eventually, I began to sense negative, dark energy coming by.
"There!" I pointed to the spot where the Shadow Duel between Yusei and Rudger was taking place. Then, we spotted Riku with the two kids, Jun and Micchan near the flames. We saw that the kids were frighten by the flames and were holding on to Riku.
"RIKU! Riku, what are you doing here? Get yourself and the kids out of there, now!" Akane shouted across the flames.
"But...how?!" Riku replied, holding on to the frightening kids, "There's no way out!"
Suddenly, the purple light erupted and I could sense the Earthbound Immortal being summoned and the kids' souls being sucked out.
"NO! RIKU!" Akane cried.
"Hmph, not going to let that happened!" Jack appeared behind us and drove his duel runner towards the flame, "Just leave it to me! Jack Atlas never betrays the same kids who cheer him on!"
Akane and I rolled our eyes at his comments. Stubborn ass. Jack managed to jumped over the purple flames, got off his Wheel of Fortune, and ran to Riku and the kids and held them. Soon, the red barrier surrounded them, protecting the boys from having their soul taken. Akane and I sighed in relief.
"You know, despite the fact that I despise you Atlas, I owe you one. Thanks," Akane said to Jack through the flames. Then, we glanced back at the field, where the duel is still taking place.
Rudger began to laughed, "What an utter face! Descend forth now. My god, Earthbound Immortal Uru!"
The ground shook, the shell exploded, and the giant black spider outlined in red appeared, hissing at us, or to be more specific, hissing at Yusei. I shivered as I saw the sight of the Earthbound Immortal Uru.
"Woah, that one heck of the big spider I'd ever seen," Akane commented with her eyes wide open.
"Ugh...thank God I'm not participating in that Shadow Duel," I said while scratching myself, "I think I'm getting hives now just by looking at that monster."
"Earthbound Immortal Uru has the ability to attack my opponent directly. Go Uru, Hell Thread!" Rudger commanded his spider. Uru responded by shooting out spider webs from its mouth.
"Trap Card activate, Iron Resolve!" Yusei shouted, "By halving my life points, I can reduce the damage to zero!"
A barrier surrounded Yusei and reflect the attack, which then hit the nearby, crumbling building. Suddenly, we heard a scream above us and looked up, seeing a spiky hair young boy on the roof of the tall building.
"Oh no! That's Takuya!" I cried.
"Takuya, hang on!" Akane shouted as we got of the duel runner. However, we just noticed Martha and Ushio above the building, trying to save the young boy. Then, Martha made an attempt to reach out to Takuya.
"Martha! Yusei cried.
"Martha, get back!" I shouted, "It's too dangerous!"
Of course, she ignored us, but got the courage to lead Takuyu to safety. However, as Ushio managed to grabbed on to Takuya, the building shifted, and forced Martha to slip and slide down to the other side of the roof.
"Martha!" Ushio cried and tried to reach out to grabbed her, but the efforts were futile. However, Martha managed to hold on to the roof.
"Martha! Just hang on for bit longer!" I cried.
"We'll come and get you!" Akane shouted and we both tried to head inside the building.
"There's no need to girls," Martha told us with watering eyes, not with sadness or grief, but with hope, "I'm not going to be able to make it either way, but I'm grateful for what you're trying to do."
"No don't say that!" I protested, "I don't want to lose you. None of us do!"
"That's why we're coming to get you!" Akane agreed and started making charged to the building.
"No! You'll need your strength to help other to defeat the Dark Signer!" Martha said.
"Martha! Don't do anything foolish and listen to them!" Jack yelled.
"Martha!" Yusei cried.
Martha chuckled and faced the raven hair duelist, "Yusei. Jack. You two are such good boys to me. I know that someday, you'll be able to connect Satellite and Neo Domino City together. I know you will!"
And that was that. We watched in horror as Martha slipped and fell of the building to the flames, which cause herself to become the orb of light and sucked into the Earthbound Immortal.
"No...MARTHA!" Yusei shouted in the top of his lungs.
"Martha...damn!" Jack clenched his fist and turned away. I felt the tears coming from my eyes and buried my face to Akane's shoulder, crying.
"NO! Martha...she's gone!" I wailed. I felt Akane's around me and give a gentle rub on my back.
"I know how it feels, Crystal. I'm so sorry," Akane comforted me and I noticed her glaring at Rudger, "Damn that Dark Signer...he will pay for this!"
Yusei looked up, held up his duel disk and gave a hateful glare at the older Dark Signer, "Rudger...DAMN YOU! I'll never forgive you for this! Draw!"
Yusei drew a card, "I'll summon Junk Synchron in attack mode and use its effects to revive Turbo Booster. Then, I'll tune level 5 Turret Warrior with level 3 Junk Warrior."
Lights and rings gathered together as Yusei chanted, "Clustering wishes will become the new shining star! Become the path its light shines upon! Synchro Summon! Take flight, Stardust Dragon!"
The purple orbed, white dragon appeared on Yusei side of the field and let out a roar.
"You're such a fool, Yusei. Your dragon's attack is lower than my Uru here," Rudger pointed out.
"You may be right, but it's not your monster I'm aiming for!" Yusei let his Stardust Dragon fly around and went through the Earthbound Immortal.
"What?!" Rudger exclaimed.
"Uru disallows my monster to attack it as a target, but Stardust Dragon can attack someone else other than Uru. Meaning it can attack you!" Yusei pointed to Rudger.
"Damn!"
"Stardust Dragon, attack Earthbound Immortal Uru! Shooting Sonic!" Yusei commanded. Stardust obeyed and let the stream of light attack Rudger. However, some sort of an egg appeared out of no where and blocked Stardust's attack.
"I activate Spider Egg, which will negate the attack and special summon three Spider Tokens," Rudger declared as the egg burst into three baby spiders, "Also..."
Suddenly, he disappeared into smoke, which made all of us gasped, "Wait! Where did he go?!" Akane asked.
Then, a familiar red headed boy appeared with a Dark Signer duel disk strapped to his arm, looking confused. We stared at him in disbelief.
"Rally!" Yusei exclaimed in shock.
"No way...Rally!" I heard a laughed and looked up, seeing Rudger standing near the spider web, "Rudger you sneak! What did you do to Rally?!" I shouted at him in anger.
"Heh, isn't it ironic that you have another friend to save?" Rudger laughed, "I set his spirit free so he can duel in my place instead."
"SAY WHAT?!" I screeched.
"You f***ing coward! You get back down here and return to the duel this instant!" Akane protested, waving her fist at him.
"I agree. There's no way you're going to make me duel against Rally like this!" Yusei shouted.
"No can do," Rudger shook his head and smirked, "Rally can either win this duel or lose this duel. He can't run away from it. Surrendering is not option either."
"W-What do you mean by this?!" Yusei stammered.
"Yusei, the loser of this duel will have to disappeared," Rally explained sadly.
"No...I can't let that happened!" Yusei shouted in disbelief.
"There's no choice Yusei!" Rally said and glared at Rudger above him, "Besides, its this man's fault that Taka, Blitz, and Nervin disappeared. He's the one who took them away!" Rally stared at Yusei sadly as he drew a card from his duel disk.
"Rally, don't!" Yusei tried to stop him.
"I'll use Uru's ability to sacrifice one spider token and take control of your Turbo Booster from your field," Rally said as Uru took the monster from Yusei field, "Then, I'll summon Turbo Rocket on the field!"
Yusei's eyes widened while Rally summoned his monsters, "No Rally! Attack me!"
He ignored him, "I'll tune Turbo Booster with Turbo Rocket to Synchro Summon, Turbo Booster Cannon!" The cannon, rocket like monster appeared on the field, facing Rally. We recognized the card in shock.
"No...that card..." Akane started to say, "He's not going to..."
"Rally, don't do this!" I shouted to the red head boy.
"Rally! You can still survive! Attack me instead!" Yusei shouted desperately.
"I can't Yusei!" Rally shouted back, "Because you're Satellite's only hope!" Rally stood up and fixated his gaze at his monster, "I'll activate Turbo Booster Cannon's effect, which will destroy any monster on this field and deal damaged equal to the chosen monster to its owner. The monster I choose to destroy is Earthbound Immortal Uru!"
"NO!" Everyone cried at the rocket monster destroy the spider and send Rally tumbling to the ground. Yusei ran up to him and held on to Rally in his arms.
"Rally..." Yusei cradle Rally in his arm.
"Yusei...please...protect...Satellite," Rally replied weakly with a hopeful smile and turned into the black dust. As the dust blew away from Yusei's arm, Yusei's eyes watered and screamed from the top of his lungs.
"RALLY!"
We ran up to him along with Jack and Aki, who was watching the duel the whole time as well. Then, Rua, Ruka, Mikage, Saiga, and Ushio appeared behind us, saddened by the scene.
"Well, that was an interesting show," Rudger commented, "However, this is where the battle between the Signers and Dark Singers has come to the breaking point!"
"Of course, the battle will be decided by the fate of the stars," a new voice added. I looked up to see a familiar Dark Signer in black and yellow.
"Demak," I mouthed. Then, more Dark Signers came following up behind and I recognized some of them. Kiryu, Dark Signer Crystal (who had her hood up to cover her face and was smirking at me to which I glared at her in response), and Misty (the woman who dueled Aki back at the Arcadia Movement). Then, there were couple of Dark Signers I didn't recognize very well, taking the girl in black and orange outfit for an example, though I felt like I seen her before, and the boy with black and white attire...wait a minute. I turned back to the boy in black and white standing near the others. He also had his hood up, which prevents me to recognize him, but I knew I saw him in my dreams before. Plus, he feels familiar.
"I can see that you haven't conquered your fear yet!" I heard Kiryu taunted at Yusei and gave out his creepy laughed, " Over your fear of Earthbound Immortals. Heh, I can sense plenty of fear inside you."
"Yes...I admit that I'm still afraid," Yusei slowly got up and glared at Kiryu and the other Dark Signers, "Afraid of my own rage over how much I want to beat all of you!"
Kiryu laughed manically again, "Hahaha! That's more like it Yusei. I'll be sure to bring more pain to our battle again soon! But first, there's someone I would like you to meet and hopefully, you'll recognize him. Jack and Chris can join in to meet him as well if they want...especially Chris!"
Jack glared at the icy blue hair Dark Signer, "Who is this person you wanted us to see?!"
And why do I have a bad feeling when Kiryu is applying more to me? I asked myself silently, but kept my glare at him.
Kiryu turned and gestured at the hooded boy, "Now, why don't you go ahead and reveal yourself?"
As on cue, the boy removed his hood and all three of us gasped. We noticed his blue hair, his brown eyes, which was now surrounded in black sclera, and the red mark on his face where...where the back tattoo was supposed to be imprinted. As I recognized his face, I stepped backwards and choke out in fear and shock.
"A...Aoi?!"
