New poll up on profile page: Should Aria kinda like the attention she receives from Seth? (Not meaning she likes him) just that she enjoys the extra attention from another good looking guy. Poll is on profile page, if you can vote that would really help me out!
Aria's Shield
"Wow." Roman said in reaction to the photo I showed him of me and Dean five years ago. "Look at you, baby girl." He chuckled.
Dean was sitting next to Roman, leaning back against the couch, but he looked over Roman's shoulder at the photo. "You look so fucking innocent." Dean laughed. "No wonder I went for you." He winked.
"I was innocent." I pointed out.
"Until that night." Dean smirked.
"Better start believing in soul mates, man." Roman passed Dean the photo. Dean just smirked to himself as his eyes wavered down me. It was a big weight off my shoulder now that Dean knew. I went and sat down on his lap, taking the photo off him. In the photo, Dean had this smile on his face as he looked at me; it was a smile that still looked the same even now.
"Better start believing you're mine, darlin' and you have been all this time." Dean murmured in my ear. His hot breath gave me shivers.
I rolled my shoulder back and moved my head away from Dean's mouth. "Tonight should be pretty cool." I said to Roman, putting the photo away, trying to ignore Dean's hand going higher up my thigh. "Old School Raw and all."
"The Shield will be on Piper's Pit." Roman replied. "It's crazy."
I met Dean's hand on my thigh and brought it up to entwine with mine. "People say you remind them of Roddy Piper so that should be interesting."
"I wonder why they think that." Roman smirked with a small eye roll.
"Because you're a psycho." I poked Dean's chest.
Dean wrapped his large arm around my waist so I wouldn't fall as he stood up. His eyes went wide as he then walked me backwards. "What'd you call me?" His head tilted sideways with his hand curling in and out of a fist as he tried to scare me.
"You're so mean." I walked round him and over to where Roman was. "Roman, tell him!" As Roman laughed, Dean struggled to keep a frown on his face and this soon turned into a grin. "Fine, go ahead; make fun of the coolest member of the Shield."
"You talking about me?" Seth asked with a smirk as he walked into the room. I shook my head, not impressed, causing him to chuckle.
"Look what I have." I said to Dean, reaching for my bag. I pulled out a new DVD release for Jon Moxley. I bet you can guess who I borrowed this from; my dad.
Dean stood over me, looking at the DVD over my shoulder. He took it from me and looked at the back before chuckling. "Oh yeah." He spoke about one of the pictures.
I took it back from him, "Why have you got a mask on?" I pointed to one.
"It was stapled to my face."
My eyes widened and I dropped the DVD. Dean caught it before it hit the ground and laughed at my reaction. "Please tell me you're kidding."
"Nope." He smiled sickly. "CZW baby." He walked into me with his tongue hanging out, clearly enjoying freaking me out.
"On second thoughts, maybe I won't watch it." I pressed the DVD into his chest, pushing him away from me in the process.
"How about I watch it with you?" Dean offered. "Tell you what parts to look away at."
"That'll be every part, dude." Seth chuckled.
Roman looked at the DVD also whilst shaking his head. "How did you end up with the sweetest girl?"
"Easy-" I put my hand on Dean's chest. "He bolieved." All men shook their heads at me. "What?" I asked innocently. "My client, Bo Dallas-"
"Is he an Aria Hayden guy?" Seth asked as he slid on his black gloves.
"You all are." I rested my shoulder against Dean's chest. "If only my clients would come together..."
Dean furrowed his brows. "You want Bo Dallas to join the Shield?"
"What a wonderful idea!" Dean placed his fingers round the back of my neck, squeezing it a little making me lean my head back to look up at him. He used this to lean down and peck my lips. "I take that as you agree?" I mumbled against his lips. I squeezed into him, giving him a small hug. He responded by placing an arm around me as I held tightly onto him whilst he spoke to Roman. "I've got to meet Brad." I said to the guys. "You would have thought my kidnapping was enough for this week's episode of Total Divas." I let go of Dean and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"We're on soon." Dean told me, pulling me back to him. "Don't forget."
"You want me to watch?" I teased.
"Yeah, I do."
I smiled and nodded. I went out of the Shield's locker room and found the Total Divas camera crew not too far away. People were disappointed there was no weekly dares last week, but with Brad's marriage disaster, it didn't seem appropriate. "I think he's in his office." I said to the camera lot. They were already filming despite the fact I wasn't doing anything interesting.
I knocked on Brad's office door. I didn't get a response, but I could clearly hear his loud obnoxious voice inside so I decided to just go in.
"Brad, we need to-"
Gulp.
Kane.
Even worse... Corporate Kane...and he did not look impressed.
I looked directly into the camera before back at Kane and Brad. Corporate Kane's brow was raised as he waited for me to speak.
"This isn't the divas locker room!" I exclaimed, looking around. I tried to escape, but Brad pulled me to him. I struggled against the arm he had wrapped around my shoulder. Why did Brad always insist on bringing me down with him?! I was terrified of Kane! I used to have nightmares about him as a child. Throughout my career so far I had managed to avoid him. Even without the mask he terrified me!
"Anything you have to say to me, you can say it in front of Aria!" Brad shot at Kane. "Safety in numbers." Brad then whispered to me.
"You're on your own!" I whispered back to him, trying to escape, but Brad kept drawing me back in.
"Like I said, Glenn..."
"Don't call me that." Kane said sternly.
"Don't call him that!" I hit Brad's chest.
"I wasn't bad mouthing you, but I did think you might have this reaction, Kane, so, what are you going to do about it?" Brad challenged timidly. "Are you going to threaten me with physical violence? Are you going to teach me a lesson by harming my friend, Aria?"
"Whoa!" I put my hands up. "I don't even like him that much." I said to Kane, pointing at Brad. "I'm on your side here."
Kane looked from me to Brad. "Now why would I do that, Brad?" Kane questioned. "When I know that threatening a fellow executive with violence would be grounds for my dismissal according to page 23 of the WWE Human Resource Policy handbook."
"Technically, Aria's not an executive…."
"Brad!" I elbowed him hard.
Kane just chuckled in response. Where was my Shield?! "So, the way I see it, you're in a no-win situation, because if I do put my hands on you, I would be fired, but on my way out, I'd make sure that you're never seen or heard from again." Brad gulped and so did I. "On the other hand, if you get me fired, then I'm no longer Director of Operations and I go back to being the monster, in which case, I'd make sure you're never seen or heard from again."
"Not uh, not a lot of good choices there Brad." I spoke like a mouse. He was so scary!
"So, Bradley boy-" Kane reached for Brad's tie. "Why don't you keep that in mind the next time you talk to Triple H and Stephanie about my job performance, okay?" Kane patted Brad's shoulder and left the office.
Me and Brad both let out deep breaths of relief. "Why did you have to go piss off the big red monster?!"
"He's threatened by my position of power and probably my good looks, there was bound to be conflict between me and him." Brad dismissed.
"And what was with you trying to use me as bate?!" I argued as we walked out the office together.
"If Kane went for you, you would have gone running back to the Shield, like you always do and they would have taken care of Kane for me." Brad explained. "Be a doll and go tell Dean that Kane threatened you or something."
"No!" I exclaimed. "I'm not pissing off Corporate Kane, are you mad?"
"You'll have the Shield to protect you." Brad pointed out. "Don't worry, I've got you covered."
"No, Brad-" I said sternly. "If you want to make an enemy of Corporate Kane, be my guest, but leave me out of it."
"When are you going to stand up to the man, Aria?" Brad questioned me. As if perfect timing, Triple H, the CEO of the company walked past with Randy by his side. "Hello sir." Brad greeted politely with his awkward fake smile. "Randy."
"Brad." Triple H nodded in greeting. His lips tugged up into a smirk when he looked at me. "Hello Aria." He shot this grin at Randy who matched it. I just nodded back awkwardly. Unfortunately, Triple H was a high supporter of me due to the fact he wanted to match me up with Randy.
"Stand up to the man, huh?" I said to Brad when Triple H and Randy were out of ear shot.
"One man at a time." Brad dismissed. "Right, what is your dare for this week? Hmm." Brad scanned the area.
"Hi Aria!" I turned my head to see Bo waving cheerfully from down the corridor with that adorable smile.
"Hi Bo!" I waved back equally as cheerful. I loved him!
"I'm going to win! 2 and Bo!" He called out.
"I bet you are, Bo!" I smiled widely over at him, putting my thumb up at him which he returned.
So damn adorable.
"Hmm..." Brad hummed as if an idea just hit him.
I turned to look at Brad who was looking down the corridor at Bo with a smirk on his face. "Brad, no-"
"I dare you to go tell Bo Dallas that you don't Bolieve in him."
I looked over at Bo who wasn't hurting anyone! He was watching R-truth practise his rap and dancing to it. "I...I can't do that! That is totally cruel and inhumane...it's like shooting a puppy, I won't do it!"
"Are you admitting defeat already?" Brad exaggerated.
"Fine, your dare is to go make out with Ryback." I crossed my arms under my chest.
Brad glared at me. "Fineee." He sighed. "I'll change the dare."
"Thank you." I nodded. "Hit me."
"It's tempting." I furrowed my brows at him. "I dare you to..." Brad looked around.
I followed his gaze to see The Shield down the corridor. Dean, out of the corner of his eye, caught my look and smirked as if he had caught me the act. His hand was rubbing hard against his shoulder and he gave me a wink. The Shield looked ready for their part. I would make sure I would not miss them on Piper's Pit, I knew they were going to be awesome. They always were.
"I dare you to go kiss Dean." Brad spoke, breaking my trance I had on him.
I looked at him weirdly and then towards the camera. "What? Why?"
Out of all the filming for Total Divas that I had done, I had never kissed Dean on the lips once on camera. To me, that was private and I didn't particularly want that aired, besides, we could look totally gross kissing and I wouldn't know until it was too late! "I'm giving my fan girls what they want." He then looked at the camera with a smirk on his face. "You're welcome." I looked at Brad like he was crazy. "Or maybe it should be Seth...that ought to make things interesting."
"No, no-" I quickly said. "Dean's fine!" I stood there hesitantly until Brad gave me a push in the Shield's direction. I glared back at Brad, but kept walking. The cameras followed me causing the Shield to look up. "Hey guys..." I said awkwardly.
Dean crossed his arms under his chest and raised a brow. "What are you up to, kid?"
"Me and Brad are doing dares..."
"Right..." Roman spoke, "And what's your dare?"
"Three on one handicap against you guys." They all chuckled, "Ok, yes, I was joking, but you could look a little scared, gosh." I shook my head at the camera. "Actually, it's to, uh, kiss Dean."
"That's a dare?" Seth questioned. "Sounds like more of a treat to me."
"I'm waiting!" Brad called over to us, keeping a safe distance from the Shield.
Dean shrugged and smirked. "Well, go on then."
"Really?"
"Yeah." Dean swiped his tongue over his top and bottom lip, making them all moist.
"Dean!" I squealed, grossed out. "Now that's a dare!"
He reached out, putting his hand on my lower back and pulled me into him. "I'm waiting." He waggled his tongue at me. I put my hands on either side of his head and pressed my lips against his. Dean came down with me as I lowered myself to the ground from being on my tip toes, keeping his lips on mine. I used my hand on his cheek to pull his head away from mine gently. "Mmm." Dean let out as he returned to his usual height. His eyes opened and he chuckled seeing that I was blushing. "Thanks for that." He leaned back against the wall.
"Don't mind us." Seth let out. "Jeez." He nudged Roman. I wiped Dean's saliva off my lips and went to head over back to Brad. Dean slapped my butt as I headed off. I swung round glaring at him. He raised his hands in defence."Don't we get anything?" Seth called after me.
"Maybe next dare." I called back.
"Aww." Brad ruffled my hair as I returned to him.
"Shut up." I swatted his hand away. "It's your turn."
"If you want to give to the fan girls like I just did-" Brad smirked towards the camera, we tended to break the third wall quite a lot. "-then I guess you could dare me to take my shirt off although... I don't think it's acceptable to be this sexy in public." He said, looking both ways down the corridor.
"They're sure as hell doing it." I said, looking towards the Shield.
"Sure, if you find psychopaths sexy then-" Brad shrugged and then looked towards the camera. "-cut that bit out."
I smiled to myself. "Your dare is to go confront Roman to why he's not following you back on twitter."
Brad laughed dismissively. "Aria, why would I want to follow Roman Reign's on twitter, I mean really?"
"I don't know-" I shrugged and found on my phone his twitter page. "Why do you?" I then showed him that he was indeed following Roman on twitter.
Brad poked his tongue in his cheek as he looked from me, to the phone, to the camera. "Well you see-" I raised a brow and smirked. "I'm just making sure he doesn't inappropriately tweet my wife. I'm just looking out for my lady."
"Aww." I teased. "Your wife."
"Yes, yes, Aria. Grow up." Brad rolled his eyes. He sighed, smoothed down his sweater vest and headed towards the Shield, I followed.
The Shield's chatter died as soon as me and Brad reached them, mainly because of Brad. Dean looked suspiciously down at me, pulling me from Brad's side to his. I could feel his fingers threading through the end of my hair. Roman's hands were resting on his belt, whilst Seth had his arms folded across his chest. Brad cleared his throat at the two frowning men. "I realise I may be disturbing your flow, but Aria here wanted Dean's attention so I'm here for uh, moral support."
"Attention, huh?" Dean spoke quietly to me, trying not to let the cameras pick it up.
"You believed that?" I asked him, equally as quietly. "Excuse me, I mean, you bolieved that?"
Dean shook his head. "I can't wait to kick that little Punk's ass."
"There will be severe repercussions if you do that." I warned him.
"And those are?"
"Let's just say, I've got a good trainer." I punched my fist into my hand.
"...I am your trainer."
"Oh yeah, right." Dean laughed with his teeth showing as his lips stretched out into a grin, he looked so cute.
"All I'm saying is-" I had completely missed most of Brad's dare. "If someone follows you, the polite thing to do is follow them back." Roman remained stone faced as Brad continued to ramble. "It's not as if I'm a boring tweeter either, I'm certainly more entertaining than this one-" He nudged his head in my direction.
"Hey-" I exclaimed.
"Oh c'mon-" Brad shot at me. "All you do is retweet Bo Dallas."
I looked up at Dean. "I just want to make my followers to become Bolievers."
"I like her tweets." Roman said with a serious look on his face.
"Look, take my card, it has my twitter name on it-" Brad pulled out one of his stupid business cards he made up for himself and passed it to Roman between two of his fingers. "Check me out, you will find yourself highly amused and when you're ready to apologise, I'll be in my office."
Roman took the card and looked at it. "If I wanted to follow you, I would have followed you already." He said calmly and coolly before ripping the business card in two.
"Well, that was uncalled for." Brad stated dryly. He then looked around at all the frowning members of the Shield before turning his attention on me, his eyes widening slightly as if an idea came to mind. "Kane threatened Aria." He said quickly and dashed off.
"Wha-" I let out. "Brad!" I called angrily after him.
"What?" Dean hissed, stepping in front of me, his back now turned to the camera. "He threatened you?"
"No! He threatened Brad, I was just there!" I protested. Dean kept the snarl upon his face. "Trust me, I would be the first to snitch on him if he does."
"Kane's not an idiot." Seth stated to Dean. "He knows what would happen if he even looked at Aria the wrong way."
"Exactly." I said, keeping my eyes on Dean. It didn't help when the footage of me, Kane and Brad started playing on the monitor, which I'm sure Brad ordered to be played on Raw. Imbecile! It further looked bad as the look of fear on my face was clear.
I was saved by a crew member who came to tell the Shield that they were up. Dean glanced at me with unhappy eyes. "We'll talk about this." He murmured sternly. He looked over my shoulder, gave a nod to whoever it was, kissed my forehead and followed swiftly behind Seth.
"You're in trouble." A Swiss accent taunted.
Cesaro always looked sweet with that friendly smile of his. I didn't understand him and the real Americans, they were clearly bad guys and Cesaro was just...not! Not in the slightest! And the fans loved him! Cesaro had the opportunity to break out of the group by defending me to Zeb like he did in my dreams! "Actually Kane is, but it totally wasn't my fault!"
"Do you want me to swing him for you?" Cesaro offered.
"Aw, that's really sweet!" That could come in handy...I do need revenge on Brad... "No, but I'll keep that offer in mind."
"Cesaro, what do you think you are doing?"
"Ah, no." I sighed and looked at the Total Diva's camera. They were still filming. Gosh, had they not got enough footage already?! I had given them gold!
Zeb waddled down the corridor with Jack Swagger by his side. "I am going to have to put in an official complaint, this is ridiculous." He said angrily to Jack whilst glaring over at me in disgust.
"This needs to stop." I told him sternly. "I can handle your harassment, but not when I get stopped at border control!"
"Zeb!" Cesaro said in surprise.
"I had to figure out how she does it-" Zeb shook his head in disapproval at me. "She flashed her assets-" My mouth fell over. "And charmed her way over our borders. I'm telling you right now, that won't work on me or Jack-" Zeb patted Jack's back.
"It'll work on me." Cesaro gave me a wink.
"Don't get attached, son." Zeb said sternly to Cesaro. "Soon you and that Bulgarian Brute will be out of this country and back in your own!" Zeb then sighed heavily. "Oh great, they're multiplying." I furrowed my brows and turned my head to where Zeb was looking. This was getting way out of hand as now Rusev and Lana were here, glaring dangerously over at Zeb. Rusev was from the same part of Bulgaria that my mother was born in, although we had never met or even passed each other. This was the first time for me seeing him in the flesh. Lana had a look of disgust on her face and she was saying something to Rusev in Russian.
Zeb continued to shake his head disapprovingly. "Never trust an immigrant, especially Russians. SPEAK ENGLISH!" He yelled over at them.
Jack Swagger half pushed Zeb behind him and Cesaro as Rusev and Lana stepped towards us. I was stood there in the middle baffled by all that was going on. I looked at the Total Divas camera bewildered.
"America's problem is people like you-" Lana hissed in her thick Russian accent at Zeb. "So ignorant that they think it is ok to speak only one language-" She scoffed. "Rusev speaks five languages."
"Listen lady-" Zeb shot back. It was all going down! "This is America and in America, people speak English. Now if you don't respect that, you know where you can go." Zeb threatened. "And take this one with you." He pointed at me.
"Hey!"
"You are the problem with America-" Lana snarled once more. "You talk like that to me one more and there will be serious consequences."
"любов?" I spoke to Rusev. (Crush?)
"любов." He repeated what I said and nodded.
"You speak Russian?" Cesaro whispered to me.
"Bulgarian." I replied.
"Oh yes." Cesaro nodded. "I almost forgot that about you."
"How could you with Zeb reminding you every two seconds?" I scoffed.
The next few moments were filled with silence as there was a standoff between Zeb and Jack against Lana and Rusev. Me and Cesaro really just stood on the sidelines. They soon started backing away from each other with sneers on their faces.
"довиждане Nikolina." (Goodbye Nikolina) Rusev said before he left with Lena. He knew my real name! I stared after him in disbelief, had I made a new friend? A new ally in Rusev?! That could also come in handy! Awesome!
"What did he say?" Cesaro asked. Oh finally, one language that he didn't speak! Out of the languages Cesaro decided to learn, he could have chosen Bulgarian so we could bond!
"He said, he likes your nipples."
Cesaro laughed loudly at me. "You are a cheeky one Aria Hayden." He wagged his finger at me as he walked away.
"Who said I was joking?"
I chuckled under my breath before turning to the monitor. I had missed some of it and the Shield was now entering the ring; at least I didn't miss Dean. I smiled to myself as he was wearing the Shield jacket that I had slept in last night. It was warm and smelt strongly of Dean, a smell that I could never grow tired of.
Dean twirled a microphone around in his hands, whilst Roman and Seth sat down on the stools that were there. There was a clear height difference between Dean and Roddy and I saw Dean using a technique he would use on me where he would crook his neck and bending down mockingly to my level. "Who gave this old man a live microphone?" Dean asked the crowd. I gasped and put my hand over my mouth, I guess I shouldn't be surprise by Dean's rudeness. Everyone who knew me would be surprised to find I was dating Dean. We were polar opposites and that was easier to see. He was the bad guy and I was the good girl. He could be rude so easily, I struggled to even say a bad word! As Roddy Piper opened his mouth, Dean cut him off. "We're on live television. We weren't going to stand around waiting for you to go on and on and on. If anything, you should be thanking God that The Shield wasn't around when you were in your prime, or you wouldn't have made it to 112 years old." Dean smirked to himself for that one.
"First of all-" Piper took back control. "Nobody gave me a microphone, I took it." Dean stuck his neck and continued to glare at the older man with his eyes wide open. "And this is Piper's Pit, not Ambrose Alley-" I giggled knowing that I would have to use that on him at one point. "Now, if you're finished with the foolishness-" You didn't see what Seth had done, but Piper suddenly turned to him. "You think I'm cute?" He laughed. Seth nodded and smirked. "I admit I've been beat up. I have fought some guys. Oh my goodness-" Piper shook his head. "Things don't work quite like what they used to, except my mind, it's fine! There's only one guy who can match me on the microphone-" Roddy stated and got straight into Dean's face. "CM Punk!" Dean was definitely a threat to the title of best talker. I could honestly listen to him and his Jon Moxley promos for hours.
Dean's upper lip twitched in anger before he started to agitatedly rub into his right shoulder. I never knew why he did that, whether it was his technique for calming himself down. As Piper kept chanting along with the crowd for Punk, Dean was increasingly becoming unstable. "I think you'd know to treat lightly in a situation like you're in Piper-" Dean threatened before Seth stepped in and pulled Dean away from Piper.
"Hot Rod-" Seth laughed to himself. "Can I call you that?" Dean stood behind Seth, still looking like he was about to burst with anger and throw himself onto the older man. "I appreciate what you're trying to do here, but my friend, it's not 1985 anymore. The Shield is too smart for your little tactics, alright. There are no cracks. You know what I think it is?" Seth said to Dean. "I think Piper's a little jealous. I think Piper's a little jealous that he can't get the babes like you've got one right now-"
Dean smirked at this. "Oh yeah, that's it. That's definitely a part of it." Dean opened up his jacket and walked forward with so much swag and smug as he looked into the camera, probably knowing that I was blushing right now.
"And I also think Piper's a little jealous because you're a better US champion than Piper was."
"Now just hang on a second-" Piper cut in. "You may be right on that, but I'm right in saying she deserves a hell of a lot more than you." Dean's smirk instantly turned into a frown. Seth had to push him back once more. "And I also know you-" Piper pointed at Seth. "One on one can't beat Punk. You-" He then pointed at Dean. "-one on one, you couldn't beat Punk either. Piper began laughing in Dean's face whilst Dean just shot threats at him which the microphone could barely pick up. "What bothers you more? That I brought up how your girlfriend is out of your league or your inability to beat CM Punk-" He continued to taunt. I had met Roddy Piper quite a few times growing up. He wasn't in the WWE when Punk joined, but made lots of appearances in which Punk would take me to see him. "And you-" Piper turned to Roman who had been quite this whole time. "You're fighting Punk tonight-" Piper reached out and pinched Roman's cheek who flinched away from his touch. Bad move Piper! "If you do beat Punk tonight, doesn't that make you better than them? Would that be the crack in the Shield?"
Here we go again...
"It's not gonna work, Piper." You could hear Seth faintly get picked up by a microphone.
"Are they holding you back?" Piper pushed.
"Don't listen to a word he's saying." Dean's voice also got picked up.
Roman slid off his stool and walked calmly right up to Piper. He raised the microphone to his lips. "I'm going to beat Punk tonight, and if you ever touch me again, I'm gonna break your old ass in half." He dropped the microphone and continued to back Piper up. Dean and Seth were right with him.
Note to self - Never pinch Roman's cheeks.
"Mr Piper..." Seth sang, taunting Piper as they closed him into the corner.
The Shield never got to break his ass in half as Punk's music hit and he ran out along with the New Age Outlaws. All three charged into the ring and took on each member of the Shield. Unfortunately for me, Punk and Dean went at it. They brawled at each other until Punk threw him out of the ring. The other two cleared Roman and Seth out too.
The Shield retreated through the crowd. Punk picked up Dean's U.S title and gave it to Roddy Piper. Dean went ballistic when he realised he had left his title behind in the ring and went to go back for it, but Seth held him back.
How much longer could this feud last?
I jumped when I felt to arms snake around me from behind. I relaxed when I saw they were very feminine arms. "Hi?" I said, trying to look over my shoulder to see who it was.
"Aria!" Nikki then jumped from behind me to in front. "I have the best news." She then looked at the monitor I was just watching where Dean was still on it. "Aww, were you watching your boyfriend?" I had just gotten rid of the Total Diva's cameras and now they were filming me and Nikki having this conversation. "You look so happy watching him."
"You're in a good mood." I tried to change the conversation. The last thing I needed was my fan girling over my own boyfriend to be on TV!
"John wasn't cheating on me!"
"I thought we already established that."
"He was buying me a house!"
"No!" I said in a fake gasp.
She giggled. "John told me you kept it a secret for him so he could surprise me. You are such a good friend!" She put her arms around me. "Aren't we lucky?" She pulled away. "Both our boyfriends brought us a place!"
"...What?"
"Oh my gosh..." Nikki quickly covered her mouth with her hand. "Dean hasn't told you yet, has he?"
My mouth fell open. "Dean bought the place?"
"I think it was suppose to be a surprise...oh my gosh, I am so embarrassed." Nikki placed her hand over her chest. "My firm called yesterday, he signed the papers, delivered the cheque and was given the key."
"He did?" I didn't care that the cameras were there, I couldn't stop smiling. I felt bad that Nikki had ruined what Dean was trying to surprise me with me, but so happy at the same time! He had dismissed it earlier which made me think he was no longer interested, but really he just wanted it to be a surprise.
"Don't tell him I told you!"
"Well-" I looked at the camera. Secrets, pff.
"I'll show you photos later, ok?" Nikki gave me a parting hug and unfortunately left one camera man with me. I had nothing more to give!
I turned around to go meet Dean when I ran into Punk. "I am getting visited by so many people today." I chuckled and then noticed Dean's U.S title hanging tauntingly on Punk's shoulder. I put one hand on my hip and the other reached out my hand expectantly. "Can I have that, please?"
"Oh, you mean this?" Punk looked at the title, hoisting it up further onto his shoulder. "Yeah, you're right. It doesn't suit me. I'm more of a WWE championship find of guy." He slid the title off his shoulder and put it in my hands. I pulled it to me and put it over my own shoulder.
"...Looks good, right?" I asked him, tapping it with my palm. I then placed my diva's title on my other shoulder. "Oh wow, I could definitely get used to this." Punk laughed at me. "I better go return this." I used one arm to wrap around his neck as I leaned up for a hug. "I'll call you later."
"Do." Punk nodded and kissed my forehead.
"Do you mind if we take a break?" I asked the camera man once Punk was gone.
"That's fine." He smiled. "I think you've overloaded us with footage anyway. It's going to be tough to cut this one down."
"Good." I laughed. "It makes up for my lack of footage from last week!" I patted his back before I left him. I went to the Shield's locker room to see they hadn't yet returned so I went out looking for them.
I passed Curtis Axel on the way. "Ha, yeah right." He said at the sight of me with both titles.
"Hey-" I cried out. "It could happen."
It didn't take me long to find Dean and it looked like he was looking for me. He was walking down the corridor looking right and left as if searching for someone. When his eyes caught mine, he relaxed a little. "Hey, check me out-" I stuck out my gut which had Dean's title wrapped around it.
"I was wondering when I'd get this back." Dean murmured. "Thought I'd have to beat it off the old man's body."
My eyes widened slightly, but I brushed it off. "Oh well, I saved you the trouble." I brushed my fingers over it. "I passed many superstars on the way and they were very impressed.
"I'm sure they were." Dean said dryly. "You need to come with me, Aria." He unzipped his Shield's jacket and held it out for me to put on. I slid off Dean's belt and allowed him to put his jacket on me, covering me up from my ring attire. His hand slipped into mine and he led the way. We passed a lot of people on our way, but Dean didn't greet or say a word to any of them. I didn't even know where he was taking me, but he seemed to be really serious about something. He didn't say a word to me throughout our entire journey.
When we turned the corner, I saw the Head of Talent Relations, Mark Carrano and he was with the Total Divas camera crew although it looked like he was dismissing them. They eventually nodded and walked past me. Was I in trouble?
"Oh, you found her."
I know Dean was biting back a sarcastic comment. "Yeah." He simply said instead. Mark stepped aside and allowed us to walk in. When we did, I saw Roman and Seth were there too. "What's going on?" I asked, looking between all the men. Dean left my side and went to lean against the wall, a deep scowl over his face. Roman scooted to the side and gestured for me to sit with him. Roman would always make me feel safe whereas Dean... I could literally feel his anger so I went to Roman. Mark closed the door and made me feel more nervous as he looked at me. I started scanning in my head all the things that I could possibly have done.
"Earlier when we were in the bar, do you remember that guy, the one in front of you when you brought the drinks?" Roman spoke to me softly. I was glad it was Roman talking to me instead of Mark.
"Yes..." I looked at him worriedly.
"I wasn't sure then, but I was pretty sure I had seen him before." Roman continued. "That's why I came over and took you back to the table." He then nodded at Mark.
Mark pointed his remote at the TV in the room. On the big screen came my match against AJ from a couple of weeks, maybe a month ago. Dean eyes burned into the TV with his lip twitching like I had seen in the ring, curling into a snarl. It was then it hit me.
It was the fan.
A fan had climbed into the ring during one of my matches, scaring the hell out of me when I turned around. It was the fan who had stopped in front of me in the bar.
All men turned to me when the clip finished playing. "What does that mean?" I asked them.
"This has actually been an ongoing investigation." Mark took over from Roman. "When Roman came to me and said the man had actually approached you, it made it clear that you need to be aware of the situation."
I looked at Mark fearfully, situation? My eyes shifted to Dean who was staring at him. The anger dropped from his eyes as they connected with mine. He pushed himself off the wall and came to my side which I appreciated as I really needed him. He kissed the side of my head. "What do you mean ongoing investigation?" I finally asked.
Mark turned away from us once again and started putting pictures up on the board. Each of me in different places, some taken by fans, some by photographs, but they all had one thing in common. The fan. "After what happened that night, one of the photographers noticed a pattern in a lot of your photos-" The fan was circled in the background of each one. Most of them, I was out with Roman, Dean or Seth. I was thankfully never alone in them. "These photos are dated over the last few months. We've been keeping an eye on the situation. It's not uncommon for a fan to appear in a lot of photos with our superstars."
"It's not?" I asked.
"It's his invasion into one of our rings that had us concerned and now that he's approached you publicly..." Mark trailed off, but he didn't need to say anything for me to know how seriously they were taking this. "We've checked into him. He doesn't have any violent convictions. He has been convicted of trespassing on private property before." Mark's eyes went to Dean.
Dean scratched the back of his head as he looked away from Mark. "We're getting a place, but I'll be there with her."
Mark nodded. "The way we see it, you have the best possible body guards right here." He gestured to the Shield. "Like I said, we're keeping an eye on the situation and you should keep us informed if you see this man again."
"Is that it?" Dean asked, his tone dripping with irritation.
"He hasn't actually done anything for us to press charges against him." Mark tried to explain to Dean.
"So we just let the freak continue to stalk her?" Dean stood up and probably looked really intimidating to Mark.
Roman stood up too and rested his hand hard on Dean's shoulder. "Aria will be fine with us." He said sternly to Dean whose eyes went from Mark to me. "Do you think that little shit will be able to get through us? I'll spear his ass in half before he lays a finger on her."
"He won't come near her. Not unless he wants to wake up in the hospital." Seth stood too. "We've got this, man."
Seth's hand went to Dean's shoulder, but Dean shrugged it off and angrily stormed out of the room. The news hadn't really hit me yet, I didn't know exactly what to feel towards this situation. I had been unaware of it for so long, was this man a threat or not? I was more concerned with getting Dean to calm down. When we turned the corner, Dean was walking at a normal speed, allowing Seth to catch up to him. Once more, Seth's put his hand on Dean's shoulder causing Dean to hurl it off by curling his shoulder back.
"Are you ok?" Roman asked me as we watched Seth and Dean argue from a distance. Their voices were low so I couldn't make out what was being said.
"Yeah." I nodded and looked up at him. "Like Mark said, I have the three best body guards." If I thought the Shield was too protective before this...the worst was probably yet to come. I didn't want this to break out into a full on fight so I placed myself between the two men, putting my hands on each of their chest so I could push them apart.
"Don't tell me to relax." Dean hissed in a low voice, his eyes darkly looming over Seth. The sweat pouring off of his brow and down his temples. Whenever Dean felt fear or felt like he was backed into a corner, he responded with rage, anger. It's all he ever learnt to do in life.
I took my hand off Seth and placed both hands softly on Dean's chest. His gaze continued to look daggers into Seth, but started to ease down to look at me. His jaw tightened and his lip curled as he looked at me. It was as if his mind was filling with the worst possible scenarios of what could happen. "We all care about her." Seth said sternly to Dean.
Dean didn't even address Seth with a word or a glance. He just continued to peer down at me. Under my touch, the strain of his body was starting to go down. "It's ok." I said in a whisper to him.
Before I had a chance to say anything else, a crew member came and told the Shield that Roman's match was next. It's too bad Dean wasn't in a match, he needed to get this anger that I felt so strongly in his chest out. Dean backed out off my touch, causing my hands to fall to my side. He didn't acknowledge me as he walked round me to go off to their entrance. I sighed and stayed where I was, now facing the plain white wall.
I looked over my shoulder, expecting to see the back of Dean Ambrose in the distance, but instead, he was coming back towards me. He still looked extremely grumpy, but he pulled me into his arms into a hug. Maybe it finally hit him that how I would be feeling towards this news. I wrapped my arms around his neck and tip toed up. "I love you." He murmured into my ear. It was his way of telling me he wasn't angry with me.
"I love you too." I said back to him, giving him a squeeze before pulling away from him.
I leaned against the wall as I watched him walk away, joining Roman and Seth to get into their entrance position. His head would occasionally look back at me before he disappeared around the wall completely. The silence and aloneness gave me the opportunity to think about what I had just heard. I never really thought about that fan again after it happened. There have been many times when fans have tried to enter the ring, it wasn't supposed to be a big deal.
I walked through the locker rooms until I found Becky and Brad's one. "Just because I'm your wife doesn't mean I need to make you a sandwich whenever you ask for one!" I heard Becky exclaim.
"It totally does." Brad argued back. "Ask Ted."
"You've just proven my point."
"How?" Brad shot back. I was completely ignored in the favour of this argument as I walked in.
I sat down next to Ted who nodded at me in a manly greeting. I returned this nod. "Because Ted is sexist!"
"Hey-" Ted cried out. "I'm not sexist, I just believe-"
"Bolieve." Me and Becky said in union.
Ted sighed. "Ok fine, I just bolieve that woman aren't equal to men..." Becky glared at him. "And should make us sandwiches on demand."
"Unbolieveable!" I threw my hands up. I just wanted to make another bolieve reference.
"You're the one that took the vows-" Ted held up his hands in defence at Becky.
"Nowhere in those vows did I declare that I would be a sandwich maker for the rest of my life." Becky argued.
"Are you sure about that?" Ted asked. "I mean, you were pretty wasted."
Becky's eyes squinted further at him. "...Shut up."
Ted stretched his arms out and put them behind his head smugly, also putting his feet up on the small table in front of us. "Case dismissed." Ted then looked at me. "I should be a lawyer."
"Introducing you two was the worst thing I ever did." Becky shook her head.
"Yeah, yeah. Make me a sandwich."
"Make your own damn sandwich!" Becky yelled at him.
"Oh my god, what have we been arguing about?" Ted sighed dramatically. "We're not women! Make us a sandwich!" I didn't know if they were serious or just trying to piss Becky off by now. Probably both.
"I'm going to beat you with one in a minute." Becky threatening, slumping down next to me.
Just then, Ryback poked his head round the corner. "Big guy wants a sandwich too." He declared and then shut the door back up.
Becky stared at the door in disbelief. "Well, get to it Rebecca. You have a lot of sandwiches to make." Ted patted her back.
"Cut the crust for me please, honey." Brad leaned forward and asked.
"I'm not making anyone anything." She frowned and faced towards the television where Roman, Dean and Seth were making their way to the ring.
"Your wife is useless." Ted stated to Brad.
Brad shrugged. "Sometimes she makes me an after sex sandwich."
We were all silence watching as the matched started up. "...Now I want a sandwich." I broke it.
"I don't want anyone saying the word sandwich from this point on!" Becky growled.
..."Sandwich."
Ted got a pillow to the face.
Roman got behind Punk for a bear hug which he used to connect with a belly-to -back suplex. Roman then punched Punk square in the jaw causing Punk to fall back onto the mat. He went for the cover on Punk, but Punk kicked out straight away. Roman picked Punk up and threw him hard into the turn buckle. Punk blocked a running splash in the corner and got behind Roman to sneak in a roll up pin, but Roman kicked out pretty quickly too.
"How did this sandwich argument even start up?" I asked.
"Apparently all women get offended when you even mention the word sandwich." Ted stated. "So I tested that theory out on Becky."
"He just charged in here and said make me a fucking sandwich, how could I not be offended?" Becky shot back at him. "And then Brad started-" She shook her head.
"There's this woman, her name is Lucy-" Ted explained. "She works on our ring attire basically, designes them and all that jazz-" Ted dismissed. "Anyway, she is a really strong feminist and really doesn't like me."
"That doesn't surprise me." Becky mumbled.
"Anyway-" Ted glared at Becky. "I was walking with Brad, completely minding our own business and I said out loud that I should make a sandwich because I was hungry and then she got pissy and went 'WHOA WHOA. What did you just say asshole?!'"
"This has a potential for a Total Divas segment. Pissing off Lucy." I grinned at Brad.
"No." Brad straight away.
"Why?" I asked him.
"I take up too much air time. There won't be room for Ted and he'll just be disappointed when his little segment gets cut out." Brad spoke, defensive of his air time.
"How about we take turns each week?" Ted suggested.
"How about no."
The match was a good one with some interferences from Seth and Dean. All match Dean looked like he wanted to get his hands on someone. As the Shield kept trying to get involved, the New Age Outlaws tried to stop them, but they got tossed into the barricade. Punk then bounces off the ropes and flies out with a suicide dive on top of Seth and Dean, taking them both out. Punk springboards back into the ring, but is clocked with a punch from Roman who went straight for the cover. Punk kicks out so Roman sets him up for a spear. Punk jumped at the last second causing Roman's shoulder to crash into the steel post causing us all to wince. Punk went for the roll up, but Roman kicked out. Both men slowly work their way back to their feet, both exhausted at this point. Punk hits Roman with a high kick to the skull, but when he went for cover, Roman kicked out once again. In his final attempt, Punk lifted Roman up for a GTS and looked to finish this match. Dean had other ideas. He jumped on the apron and distracted Punk allowing Roman to then hit a spear on Punk.
1...2...3...
The bell rang and Roman was announced to be the winner.
The Shield smirked over Punk's body, putting their fists out for the symbol of excellence. It was then that a music I hadn't heard in a long time hit...
I felt sick.
The music of Jake the Snake hit. I prayed that it just some trick, but Jake appeared from behind the curtain...along with his snake friend.
Like a reflex, I stood up, staring in horror at the TV.
Even Dean, Roman and Seth looked shocked as they stared down the ramp like they had just seen a ghost. Jake slid the snake that was in the bag into the ring causing all three members of the Shield to jump back.
"Is she attention seeking again?" Brad asked, looking confused as to why I was on my feet.
"She's afraid of snakes." Becky stated with an amused smirk.
"...Didn't she date Randy Orton?" Ted asked.
The New Age Outlaws and Punk started attacking the Shield from behind. I couldn't help but squirm as I watched on. Becky was right. I was terrified of snakes and always have been.
Roman and Seth were both thrown out of the ring...leaving Dean.
"Oh my gosh..." I let out. Not liking where this was going.
As Dean turned around, Punk hit him with a GTS leaving Dean lying flat in the middle of the ring. With Dean unconscious, Jake pointed to the bag with the snake inside. "Don't..." I moaned.
Punk knew all about my fear and he made fun of me whenever he could about it. I used to hate watching Jake the Snake as a kid. I could never watch him place a snake on anyone, it made me feel physically sick.
An uncontrollable shriek came out of my mouth when Jake placed the snake over Dean. It was my favourite person in the world covered with what I hated most. The rest of them laughed at me as I covered my hand with my mouth. I could barely watch as it slithered over Dean's body.
"That is too funny." Becky said whilst looking at me.
"I can't watch this." It felt so wrong watching it. "I've got to get out of here." Especially I knew that this would be the perfect prank for Punk, to get me near that snake.
"Take my car." Becky laughed, grabbing her keys, also giving me ones to her hotel room too.
"Wimp." Ted said and Brad snickered.
"Punk will probably want to get Aria with the snake, this is probably the first place he'll look." Becky said to them.
"...We might as well go back now too." Brad quickly said.
"Yeah, yeah, I agree." Ted cleared his throat.
"We've got some stuff to finish-" Becky went to tell them, but I was half way out the door. I literally ran to the car knowing that I needed to get far away from Punk as I possibly could. The image of that snake crawling over Dean haunted my memory.
I shook my head, trying to get it out as I started up the car. I didn't look back as I sped out of the parking lot.
