Yolo! Again! Thank God for afternoon classes; I get so much work done and get to write for my stories too! I had to work on this chapter over a period of a few hours, but I think it turned out pretty well! Here's a new chapter to 'Love the Way You Lie'! For those reading 'They Don't Know You', please do not think I am giving up on that story already; I just have a majority of this story already in mind and wish to get it down so I don't lose details of it! But I am working on 'They Don't Know You' this week and weekend, so no worries! Thank you to winterschild11 for reviewing last chapter! I also appreciate the comments you gave me in addition, thank you very much because they really helped me! Those, and your kind words! This is for you! And also, thank you to my sister for reviewing; she's a little behind on the chapters, but she's still going for it and I totally appreciate her support! Thank you both! And enjoy! :) Disclaimer: I don't own Big Time Rush or Shay Hanson! All I own is the story's overall plot and the OCs used, nothing else! Still, I'm proud to be a supporter of BTR for the last five years! They have been the best five years of my life, thanks guys! :) Sorry if this chapter was lame, the next one will have Kendall and the others in it though so I hope that makes up for this chapter's oddity!

"For a second there, I thought you'd be late." Shane said, watching two of WayneWayne's goon train lead Shay along, olive green eyes covered by a thick blindfold.

"Well if I was walking over here on my own instead of being escorted by your stupid cronies here, I'd be earlier. I'm not the type to show up 'fashionably' late." Shay shot back, getting nothing but low growls from said cronies. They couldn't hurt him, as much as they wanted to.

When WayneWayne was out, Shane was in charge. Shane requested this meet, so they had to suck it up, insults and all, and follow his orders. That didn't stop them though from shoving Shay hard forward, nearly making the dirty blonde topple over the table Shane was sitting behind.

Shay straightened himself up and worked himself into the chair opposite the brunette, waiting until he heard a door slam shut before speaking up again. "So, what's with the blindfold, afraid I'll find out where you're hiding out at?" He asked, crossing his arms over his chest. Shane laughed.

"Nah, just basic procedure. WayneWayne's paranoid about everything; he wouldn't let me go through with this if I didn't think ahead. But we're alone now, so you can take off the blindfold." Shane responded, sounding detached. It was clear he didn't care too much about his partner's feelings, just taking what he can get to have what he wants.

'I still can't believe he and James are related.' Shay thought bitterly as he ripped the blindfold, wincing a bit until his eyes adjusted the lighting of the room.

He had been taken into an abandoned warehouse, no doubt several miles away from Shay and James' apartment. He had met WayneWayne's cronies at a cafe, where they "invited" him to come along with them for a "short" drive. In the van they made Shay wear the blindfold so he wouldn't know how to get to the warehouse, and drove around for an hour before reaching their destination. They were smart to not push it and arrive minutes before the meet was to start, but it was all part of a safety procedure WayneWayne created to avoid catching suspicious eyes.

They may have gone undetected for a month by the police, but in this lifestyle resting for too long could get you caught.

Shay threw the blindfold across the table, Shane's lips in a slight smirk as now visible olive green eyes were glaring into him. "Now, what do you want?"

Shay didn't care if he sounded cross, he was nervous as hell. James being alone, it left him edgy. Sure he knew the security at the apartment was good, and James would not open the door to anyone but him; they worked out a way for James to know it was Shay when he got home. He knew James, if cornered, will fight back but those were small reassurances.

Not that Shay didn't think James was strong, but WayneWayne made sure his cronies had guns and knives hidden on them at all times. If they laid one hand his Jamie again, Shay wouldn't think twice before killing them himself.

"Is that the way to talk to your boyfriend, Shay? I'm hurt, that was mean of you."

"We're nothing but accomplices, Shane. I have nothing else with you, so cut the 'cute' act and get to the point of you calling me here. What do you want?" Shane let out another laugh before his facial expression turned dead serious once more.

It was scary how he could change moods so quickly, as if he was putting on different airs every minute of his life.

"I want to know why the search for James is still going on back home." He said, tone sharp and voice clipped. Shay felt a nervous flutter in his stomach at this but managed a straight face, raising an eyebrow in confusion.

"What are you talking about, Shane? His case has been cold for almost two months now. No wait...a month and twelve days."

"That's the point, Shay. Kelly is no quitter, but even she would have run out of 'positive energy' to find my stupid brother. I've been keeping an eye on the news back home for the past two weeks, and his case is still of high importance. You tell me this: why is his case of high importance still even we've made fucking sure he's disappeared off the face of the earth so to speak?" Shay fought the urge to roll his eyes.

"You honestly think a month with little to no news will make Kelly and everyone else that cares about him stop the search? I've seen her before, I know how she is; James means the world to her, and she knows you're free. She's not going to take the chance that you can get to him and hurt him further." He spat back, yet Shane looked furious now.

"And what if Kendall is still alive?" Even Shay couldn't hold on to his guard at this.

"Y-you think he's still alive?"

"That would explain why the manpower for his rescue is crossing state borders!" Shane slammed his fist on the table and lashed out so hard that his chair nearly broke cleanly in two as it fell to the floor, Shay getting to his feet on instinct and keeping his eyes on the deranged brunette.

"Is it now, I had no idea. I would have known if you didn't cut me and James off from the world."

"This is not the time to joke around, Shay! If that bastard is still alive, then my brother's case won't go dead and cold! The only way we'll be able to kill James without arousing attention is to make sure his case goes cold. Police search isn't all that great; he could be dead right now and without lack of evidence of his whereabouts, he can be announced dead! We can't do that if police search goes past state lines though now, can we?! This isn't good!"

"Well obviously it's not, but what do you expect me to know about it? Like you said, the times I shot him should have killed him off. It's not like he got help before the worse could settle in." Shay began, yet the older boy cut him off with a nasty scowl.

"Knight isn't the type to give up. He cares way too much about my brother; even if he was missing HALF of his damn BODY, all he would care about is...! Ugh, I swear if he is still alive...then I'll have to do something about it." Shay felt an ice cube sensation enter the pit of his stomach.

"And what do you have in mind?"

"Well I have to find out first for sure if he's alive or not, dumbass. If you couldn't kill him, then obviously I would have to send WayneWayne to do it. Or one of his cronies, I don't care but I'll have to resort to that if he's still alive...no, no wait that's not a good idea. No, the best scenario...would be to torture Kendall. If he's still alive, then I'll have to find out first myself and...let him know we have James." Shay's eyes grew wide at this.

"Wait, what? Are you saying that...?!"

"Yes, how is torture new with me? You have a video camera, right? I can send Knight videos of James, let him know he's still alive but not for long. It would be perfect: he knowing James is alive, but not able to do anything to reach him. I'm pretty sure seeing him after so long will do wonders for him and the other idiots still keeping up the manhunt."

"If you lay one hand...!" Shay grabbed Shane by the neck and slammed him against the nearest wall, Shane not offering a flinch when the back of his head met concrete.

Shane's lips parted in a wheezy chuckle, he trying to catch his breath while he placed one hand over the one Shay had around his throat. "Temper, t-temper my friend! I wasn't even thinking of putting one hand on my sweet baby brother! If we do that, it would just be too easy. No, if Kendall saw him with you...hmm, it would be very interesting to me his reaction. A masked man living with the one he loves, a gun nearby in case his hostage steps out of line. It sounds like the perfect plan to me: Knight having to watch little Jamie fall in love with another man, a filthy low-life. A criminal. Stockholm Syndrome is a tricky thing, isn't it? Of course, you're a great actor so pretending you care for James won't be too hard for you to achieve. You can play with whatever compassion he has for you and then use it against him, he'll get over it I promise you that. I mean after all, we both know James would never fall in love with you..."

Shay snarled and drew his hand back, Shane falling to his knees and taking in deep, long gulps of air. "Hmm, did I hit a nerve?"

"Shut up, you're not making me pretend I care about James. You just want your brother to feel safe and then pull the rug out from under him later, you're a sick bastard and you deserve to rot in Hell."

"Aw, I did hit a nerve! What's the matter, Shay? Did you start caring for the little brat?" Shane at first approached the topic as a joke, yet when he heard no quick response, his already dark eyes grew black.

"So, you have developed feelings for my brother." Shay turned to him, staring blankly for a few minutes before he cracked a grin.

"You sound surprised. Unlike you, your brother is worth loving." The dirty blonde enjoyed the seething look crossing Shane's face, even more when he gripped at his hair with one hand.

"You're fucking kidding me?! You care about that little shit?!"

"Watch your mouth, Shane, or I'll break your teeth in." Shane looked like he was about to scream, kick and throw a wild, jealous tantrum when his eyes widened in realization; a long, twisted smile touched his lips, that alone making the blood drain from Shay's face.

"What's so funny?" He asked, tone not as sharp as before.

"That even though you're in love with him, James would never feel the same way for you." Shane spat out, white teeth flashing like his eyes as his dangerous smile grew. Shay looked away and took a deep breath, trying to pull off the 'I don't care' air when inside hearing that shattered a piece of his heart.

"That is none of your business."

"Oh but of course it is, Shay! You can be around him all you want, he'll never feel anything for you! I'm pretty sure all he thinks of you is that you're disgusting, disturbed bastard who is practically forcing him to care about you! Please, people like you and me are made for each other; he still loves Kendall, and there's nothing you can do about it. After all, all you guys do in terms of 'talking' is just stare at each other."

Well, at least Shane didn't know how Shay and James' home-life was really like.

Still, his words were cutting Shay up like a knife inside...

"Again, none of your business so if we're done here, I'd like to go home." Shay made for the door of the warehouse, Shane not bothering to stop him. He didn't bother to call the cronies to come and get him; he could get a bus from here, after a few miles a walking. He was enjoying too much this leverage he now had over the dirty blonde.

He now had a way to further manipulate Shay.

"He'll never fall for you, Shay. If Kendall's dead like we've thought this whole time, then all he'll ever see in you is him. A copy of the original, a waste-of-time twin because you're not him. And if Kendall's alive...then he'll want nothing more to be rid of you and be with him. He'll wait until the time is right, when he's forced to choose between you and Kendall, well you'll know his answer. He loves Knight, Shay, not you."

Shay's back was to Shane, so he didn't see the brunette pull out something from inside his jacket until...

Bang!

-Page Break-

James' eyes went dinner-plate wide as he felt a heavy tugging sensation in his torso, hands going automatically to clutch Shay's necklace tight over his pounding heart.

The brunette had just finished showering and had changed into a pair of black sweatpants and Shay's gray tank top, hair dark and dripping with wet. He was barefoot on the bathroom carpet, he dropping his towel to the sink as the tugging sensation grew and grew. He found it hard to breathe, having to lean against the nearest wall and close his eyes to keep his mind from slipping away.

'S-Shay!' The worst case scenarios flooded his head: Shay dead, Shane murdering him in cold blood then coming after him. The dirty blonde he's grown to care very much about, choking on his own blood as he laid in a crimson pool, the light slowly but surly dying out in his sweet olive green eyes.

No, no, no!

Shay can't be dead, this sensation was his just fear creeping up on him again! It had to be, Shay couldn't be dead!

The one person who has been here since he was captured. The one person who's been so kind to him, protective of him. The one James has grown to care about so much, and that just thinking of him gone made it hard for the brunette to breathe.

The dirty blonde who had been mistreated and misunderstood for so long, who was abused by his bastard of a alcoholic father. The "criminal" who deep down was sweet, wonderful, loving, beautiful and caring.

The person who had a sweet smile, who blushed when James complimented him on his face and eyes, because he didn't think he was good-looking. The boy who would smile all fondly when talking about his mother, and who's eyes would darken when talking about his father and his unhappy past. The boy who James felt like he was dying every day when they were apart, even if only for a minute. Shay, Shay.

Shay who was amazing, who could read anyone even with a mask on. Shay, he was amazing and wonderful and special and he...he was James'. He was James' Shay, his Shay.

'M-my Shay, he's my Shay...' James thought with a long, fond train of thought, he nearly screaming out loud however when he heard a knock.

"W-who's there?" He choked out in a whisper, scrambling from the bathroom to the front door. He held Shay's gun in one hand, the other still to the silver cross around his neck, as he pressed himself to the door frame and tried to focus his hearing.

Nothing, no response came from the other side of the door. James was about to reload the revolver with more than two bullets...when he heard singing.

A soft, deep rich voice; a voice so gentle and mesmerizing that it reminded James a lot of the Phantom from Phantom of the Opera.

Shay's favorite Broadway production. The one thing, besides thinking of his mother, that could make the blonde cry and smile at the same time.

James packed away the gun back under their bed and undid the lock on the door, a large smile gracing his lips when he saw Shay standing there in the doorway.

He looked pained, as if something was hurting and he looked sweaty and tired, but he was breathing. He was still alive, and managed a smile for the hazel-green eyed beauty before him.

'H-he's...!'

"SHAY!" Said blonde was about to greet James back when the older, slightly taller boy crushed him in a hug, tears staining the plain white t-shirt Shay was wearing under his leather jacket (hiding the bullet wound Shane nailed him with) as James sobbed into his chest.

He wasn't sobbing and sounding distraught, though. He sounded...relieved, happy even.

"J-James, what's wrong? Are you okay, why are y-" Shay never got to finish his sentence, a heavy blush gracing his thin cheeks while his whole body began to feel warm.

James had pressed his lips to Shay's in a desperate, yet sweet, kiss. He had pressed his lips to Shay's through his tears, his mouth tasting of salt from his tears though Shay didn't push him away.

His olive green eyes were wide, heart pounding as he felt all the emotion James couldn't say through the kiss. James kept his lips pressed to his until he ran out of air and needed to breath, only to pull away and bury his face into Shay's neck.

'J-James...?'

'Oh Shay, m-my Shay...'

"I w-was scared, I felt something inside. Something b-bad and you came to mind, a-and I was scared you were hurt. Oh God Shay, I'm so glad you're okay..." James whispered, gripping at Shay's shoulders as if the other would disappear if he let go.

Shay felt conflicted.

Shane's words were still echoing throughout his head, taunting him and prickling him like rose thorns. They made him bleed, want to just lay down and die from the immense agony they caused him. Shane's words were hurting him, cutting him up and piercing him hard that he wanted nothing more than to just push James away, not believe what he just said.

But his words, his kiss, all felt true. All of it felt so real.

Shay shouldn't doubt James, not now. Not with all they shared, with all they come to tell each other because they now trusted each other. James wasn't Shane, wasn't like his twin brother. He didn't play with people's feelings, manipulate them like Shane did. He didn't like hurting people, he only wanted to help people. He wanted to help Shay, and somewhere deep down the dirty blonde knew James wasn't lying. He did care a lot about Shay, more than Shane knew, and he did have feelings for Shay.

They not be as strong as Shay's are for him, but they were there. Deep down, they were there.

Shay, flinching from the blood no doubt now staining his shirt, wrapped his arms around James' waist to return the hug. He'll tend to his injury, he didn't want to bleed to death, but he had to reassure the brunette that he returned the feelings behind the hug, behind the kiss.

"It's okay, Jamie. I'm right here, I'm here and it's okay. Shh, it's okay..."
