It was afternoon when Legolas finally left to the small room to be back in charge with the boat. They did not have lunch because they could not afford the luxury for having three meals a day, so having nothing else to do, Susan decided she had had much to read for a day and returned to her room to take a nap. Usually, she was not as lazy, but in this environment where there was nothing but water and more water, she could not think anything else to busy herself with so sleeping was her only lot. Not to mention that fighting the octopus that day did wear off a bit of her energy so she needed a recharge to help herself function through the day.

As she walked up the stairs and into the corridor, she could see Gimli and Sam spending time together on the deck. Both of them bore happy faces that had the power of making her style. Meanwhile, Legolas had the steering wheel in hand, guiding the ship to wherever they were heading. The golden sun shone on him, making him as glorious as ever. Everything seemed so peaceful and calm that the morning's event seemed too surreal to make herself believe, only her sore muscles reminded just how hard she had fought.

Seeing that no one had noticed her presence, she quietly went back to her room. She changed into a night gown before going to bed. The sleep she had the previous night was nothing but enjoyable and refreshing with her dirty clothes on, so even if she had to take her time to change, the good rest promised was worth the fuss. As soon as she had lain on her bed and had the covers tucked under her arms, she drifted off in a matter of seconds.

She was covered in bright white light with her cotton gown on. She felt light as feather as if she were floating in the sky. She could see nothing but did not feel her feet landing on anything. She must be up in the skies. Feeling brave, she turned her body and found that she could touch nothing but air. She called out, but no one answered.

"Legolas?" she asked instinctively, but everything was dead silent. No one answered, nothing moved.

"Sam? Gimli" she cried again, but as expected, there was nothing.

"Aslan?" she heard her voice shaking, slightly doubtful of what may happen.

Apparently, she had raised the right question for the light started to dim and she found the mist that had been surrounding her beginning to fade, revealing a clear blue sky. So she was flying, no surprise. Bit by bit, she felt herself descending and she found herself surrounded by green grass and hills, a beautiful view that was reminiscent to that of the meadow outside Gondor where she first arrived to Middle Earth. Like every dream she had had that was brought by Aslan, there were distant giggles. It did not take Susan anytime to know that they belonged to her deceased siblings- Magnificent Peter, Just Edmund and Valiant Lucy. She was the one missing from the group… Gentle Susan. However, for once, she was not filled with despair at the thought of them, she felt relieved and comforted. Something in her mindset has changed, she was no longer the angst-filled teenager who hated the world for making her leave Narnia, no longer the broken-hearted girl who was innocently blinded by 'love', no longer the Queen who had abandoned her kingdom in exchange of Vanity. Susan has returned, the Susan who was wise, gentle and brave, not naïve and cowardly.

As if she had known he was there all along, she spoke, "Have I finally found my place yet?"

The tender yet majestic voice of the Great Lion uttered, "Not yet, but you're nearer than you think."

After a moment of silence, he said again, "Susan, you have learnt much more than you ever did on the journeys to Narnia I have sent you to. I am happy for you for finding the utter peace you have always longed to."

She was not at all surprised by how much Aslan and she truly felt she belonged there than any place she had been. For some reason, she could feel the force of the Lion fading and before he was completely gone, she asked, "When will I get to see my brothers and sister?"

"Soon, Susan. Soon." And he was gone.

She opened her eyes to see that day has crept away and she bathing under the moonlight that had entered the small window. Despite the long dream, she felt energized. She could not help but think about the strange scene Aslan had showed her. It felt so real that she could still feel the soft fur of Aslan, brushing against her arms, sending a wave of warmth into her veins. She wondered why she had asked the last question as if she was sure to meet her siblings someday. Why would that even happen? Unless she was dead, there was no way she could meet them. Not to mention the possible absence of Heaven, then where would they be meeting? But a voice in her mind told her to believe, so she pushed away all the doubts flooding her mind and went to get change. She put on one of the dresses Luthien had given her on her visit to Mirkwood. That night was not a special occasion but she felt like wearing it.

When she reached the dining room, she noticed that the older travellers (physically and not realistically) were absent and that the elven prince was there. He looked at her with wide eyes as if he had not seen anything as beautiful as the scene in front of him. She felt a slight heat rise on her face and she immediately spoke up to divert his attention, "Where are they?"

He did not look at all embarrassed to be found admiring her, so, lifting his eyes slowly to meet hers, he said, "You mean Gimli and Sam? They had a quick dinner and have already returned to their rooms. By the way, you look absolutely stunning." Susan smiled coyly and approached the table. Legolas rose to help her with the seat.

"Then I think it's just you and me tonight." He said finally when she has sat down.
