Shinigami-cat: Well, it's time for the fall out from the previous chapter. I hope you all enjoy it… I OWN NOTHING!

Done With This

Matthew couldn't recall how they got home so quickly, but they did. The angel was silent the whole time and continued his silence into the house. Matthew knew he fucked up. He fucked up big time. He had to do something to try and fix this.

"Hey, Gilbert, I-" He words were quickly cut off when he felt an invisible force slam him against the wall and hold him there.

"Shut the fuck up." Growled Gilbert. "You have nothing to say to me today or any other day. You ruined everything. You ruined my life." Those invisible hands holding Matthew against the wall slowly started to pull him higher. "I hate you."

"I-I'm sorry!" Cried Matthew. "I-I didn't mean to drop it! I'm sorry!"

Gilbert glared at him, his eyes had gone completely red. "Sorry? You're fucking sorry? I guess that automatically makes everything better, doesn't it? You fucking bitch!" The lights started to flicker uncontrollably. "I fucking hate you so much. I fucking hate you."

Matthew whimpered, feeling tears starting to build up in the corners of his eyes. He knew he screwed up things for Gilbert. He just didn't realize the angel was going to react this badly to it.

"I-I'm sorry…."

"NO YOU'RE NOT!" Screamed Gilbert. His skin was starting to glow as he moved his hand towards Matthew, slowly moving it higher and higher towards the ceiling. "Not yet anyway…"

Matthew was terrified now. Gilbert looked like he had lost it completely. As Gilbert pushed Matthew higher and higher up the wall he found it was getting harder and harder to breath. He didn't know if was because he was scared or because Gilbert was slowly starting to choke him.

"I hate you so much…" Growled Gilbert. "You fucked up everything. You fucking fucked up my life… I've been fucking patient, so very, very fucking patient about everything… But you… You fucking bastard…"

It was at the moment that Kuma decided to walk into the room. As soon as the dog saw what was going on it started to growl. "Let him go." With the flick of Gilbert's wrist he sent the dog flying into the kitchen. The dog let out a pained whimper as it hit the fridge.

"KUMA!" Screamed Matthew. "LEAVE HIM ALONE!"

"Relax. Your stupid dog is fine." Hissed Gilbert through jagged teeth. "If he knows what's good for him he'll stay the fuck away… You on the other hand, you fucked with the wrong person." He flicked his wrist upwards, making Matthew slam into the ceiling. "I should kill you for what you've done…"

"I'm sorry!" Cried Matthew. "I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to drop it… I didn't mean to do anything… Please, I'm sorry…"

"SORRY WON'T BRING IT BACK!"

"WHAT IF I WISH IT BACK?!"

"YOU CAN'T WISH IT BACK!" Screamed Gilbert. He ran his fingers through his hair and started to pace. "It's a fucking holy object. Made by God. You can't just… wish it back. Are you that fucking stupid? To get it back you'd have to wish the world started all over again! Restart the fucking world!"

"Then I wish for that."

"WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK I AM?! NOT EVEN LUCIFER CAN START TIME AGAIN!" Screeched the angel. "You ruined everything… You fucking ruined everything… You should just fucking die."

That tight feeling around Matthew's throat intensified to the point where there was no doubt at all. Gilbert was slowly suffocating him. "Gilbert… Please…. Stop…"

"Why the fuck should I?" Hissed Gilbert. His wings flicked out aggressively. "Why the fuck shouldn't I snuff out you pathetic life? Humanity is a plague. You were given everything and you squandered your gift to the point where it's nothing but a mutant, toxic blob of screaming flesh."

"Not… my fault…" Wheezed Matthew in desperation. There wasn't much else he could do while pinned to the ceiling and choking . He was hoping that Gilbert would let him go, but the black spots starting to appear in his vision. "Gil…"

Suddenly, Matthew dropped to the ground, landing with an all mighty crash. Perhaps he had gotten through to Gilbert. It was either that or Gilbert was so furious with him that he was going, the angle was going to rip him apart. Either way he was in a lot of pain and gasping for air.

He slowly looked up at the angel, trying to see through his pain induced tears. Gilbert was just looking down at him with empty eyes. "I'm done with you." He muttered in a cold monotone voice. "I don't care if I'm meant to grant you a wish. You fucked up everything. I am leaving. I might come back in a few thousand years just to see how this shit stain on the side of the world is going." With that the angel kicked open the front door and walked out into the night.

Matthew whimpered a little, slowly pulling himself into a sitting position. Everything hurt. "K-Kuma?" He weakly called out. "Kuma, are you alright?"

Slowly the dog walked into see his master. He was limping a little and looked upset. "I'm sorry I couldn't help you…"

Matthew shook his head and wrapped his arms around Kuma. "It's fine… But are you okay? You got thrown into the kitchen…"

"I'm fine." Said Kuma. "I just need to lie down for a bit. Nothing's broken or bleeding. Just some bruises. You?"

"I'm the same."

"… That bastard isn't coming back, is he?"

"I don't know…" Muttered Matthew. "He just… He's really, really angry at me because I fucked things up for him… He might come back, but he probably won't… It's just the two of us now…"

Mugs of empty beer stacked high as the bar tender struggled to keep up with the angel's unquenchable thirst. "You might want to slow down a little there… I heard it's pretty much impossible for angels to get drunk, unless you're Arthur."

"Shut up and keep them coming." Snarled Gilbert. He quickly chugged another beer, slamming the glass down so hard on the table it shattered. "Shit…"

The bar tender gave Gilbert a warning look. "Okay, here's how it's going to work, you're going to go take a seat up the back and sober up a little while I clean these mugs up. It's either that or you're going to get thrown out on your ass. Got it?"

With a few venomous hisses, Gilbert pulled himself away from the bar and sat at a table up the back. He was there because he had no where else to go or wanted to go.

He was struggling to keep his sanity/ Both his angel half and demon half were screaming loudly in his mind over and over again. Both wanted to take control of the whole situation but for different reasons. His demon side wanted to shred away the angel and let it rain fire just to relieve his stress. The angel side in comparison just wanted to lie down and cry.

Gilbert sighed a little and let his head hit the table with an audible thunk. His whole plan had been completely obliterated, turned to dust and scattered to the wind. The quiet future he had figured out was nothing more then a bitter lie now.

'Everything is ruined now…' He thought to himself. 'Matthew fucked up everything. You didn't have to try and kill him. I would have if you hadn't butted in and fucked everything up for me. That's just your word of the day, isn't it? Shut the fuck up already.'

"What the heck are you doing here?" Asked a rather gruff and familiar voice. Looking up, Gilbert saw his brother. He didn't look too impressed at all.

Gilbert sighed a little and worked up his best shit eating grin. "Well hi there Luddy. What are you doing here?"

"Trying to relax from having to deal with a teething vampire, but now I see that coming here was a mistake. Now I have to baby sit you."

The angel sat up, glaring at the demon. "Piss off. I don't need you here to hold my hand. I'm much, much older than you."

"Only by a few hundred years. Not that big of a gap." Reminded the younger as he sat across from the other. :So, are you going to tell me why you look like you're going to explode?"

A dry chuckle escaped Gilbert's chapped lips. "I'm full of nothing but regrets and hate."

"… Explain."

Gilbert shook his head and slowly stood up. "Some other time… Right now I just want to find something to get away from it all… What human drugs work on angels? LSD? Meth?"

"Firstly you shouldn't joke about human's being addicted to that stuff. They're practically ingesting an addictive toxin."

"Poison."

"What?"

"You ingest poisons and toxins are stuff that's injected and inhaled and stuff." Said Gilbert. "It's not that hard to understand."

Ludwig rolled his eyes. "Anyway… Getting back to the point, why are you attempting to do the near impossible and get drunk?"

"My life is over." Growled Gilbert. "Why the fuck don't you understand that?"

"… Something happened between you and Matthew?"

"I almost killed him…"

"Let's go back to my place…"

It took less then twenty minutes to get to Ludwig's place by foot. The pair had been silent the whole way there, but once they got inside the questions started. His brother sat him down on the lounge and sighed a little.

"Okay…" He said. "Now what the heck happened? It's not like you to want to kill humans out of the blue like that. If anything you've avoided humans for a long, long, long time. What gives?"

"Just something stupid…" Muttered Gilbert. "I was trying to get something and then Matthew fucking dropped it and it broke…."

"What were you trying to get?"

"The Omnispective." Said Gilbert. "AKA the Eternity Eye. AKA the All Seeing Eye. AKA the useless pile of shit in the museum."

His brother sighed a little. He seemed more disappointed than anything. "Gilbert... Humans are clumsy creatures. They are slow. They are stupid. As a whole humanity is just a sexist, bigoted, narrow-minded society. You know you can't count on them for anything worth value."

"Yeah… I guess I've gone soft." Gilbert chuckled a little and stood up. "Okay, nice talking to you. We should do this more often. I'm off to somewhere to do something or someone. Maybe even have someone do me."

Ludwig sighed at his brother's actions and grabbed his arm to prevent him from leaving. "Look, you're staying here for tonight. Your head is not in the right place at the moment. You're… unstable."

Gilbert just laughed at his brother. "It's okay if I'm a bit unstable. I've been doing just fine on my own… I've been on my own for longer than you have drawn breath. Nothing will be able to change that now anyway… The Omnispective is broken."

"Just because it's broken doesn't mean that you're going to be alone." Said Ludwig as calmly as possible. "Is that why you were trying to use it? To find someone who would fall-"

"IT DOESN"T FUCKING MATTER!" Screamed Gilbert. "None of it fucking matters… I was promised something and it's not here in this universe. That's all that matters. Now let me go."

Ludwig's grip on Gilbert's arm tightened. "Not until you tell me where you're going. I'm your brother, at least tell me that much."

A twisted smile stretched across Gilbert's face. "Well, since I can't find peace here on Earth and I'm not allowed into Heaven or Hell, and I am never going back to that human's house… I guess I'm going to Tanzania."

This perplexed his brother. "Tanzania? Why?"

Gilbert shrugged. "Why not? It's as good a place as any… Besides if I go there you'll always be able to find me. No problem." He casually pushed Ludwig's hand off his arm and started to walk towards the door.

"What's so special about that place? How will I always be able to find you there?"

The angel chuckled a little as he walked out the door. "Check the news for any angel statues." With that final statement he slammed the door shut.

"What the heck is he on about?"

"He said he was going to Tanzania…"

Ludwig quickly turned around to see Feliciano standing in the bedroom doorway. "Feli, I thought you were on the roof."

"It got cold." Said the vampire. "Anyway, Gilbert's going to Tanzania. It could be thousands of years before we see him again."

"Why?"

Feliciano nervously chewed his bottom lip, trying to think of the right words. "There's a place there… In that place is a body of water that can turn all who touch and drink it to stone. It kills mortal creatures, but for angels it's the equivalent of being in a coma or in more extreme cases it's the human equivalent of being brain dead."

Ludwig was shocked to say the least. He had no knowledge that such a place even existed on Earth. There were similar places in Hell though. "Why would Gilbert go there? What is the point?"

"He's going to a place called Natron Lake." Said Feliciano sadly. "It's also known to Angels as the Final Escape…"

The sun was blazing over head as the angel lazily crossed the Kenyan boarder into Tanzania. It was way too hot, but it didn't really matter to Gilbert anymore. He had made up his mind about this. There was no turning back for him. It was decided. Yet with his mind set in its decision his angel and demon sides were still fighting.

'Stop it! I made my decision. I live in the body too you stupid flying pigeon! That's enough. NO! I DON'T WANT THIS! Aren't you tired too? A little… Then we should sleep for a bit. I don't want to. We deserve to sleep for a bit. Who knows how long we will sleep for though? Does it matter? I guess not. You realize we/re both failures, right? Yes.'

Gilbert shook his head a little, trying to clear his head of any stray thoughts. "I failed…" Whispered the angel quietly. "Not only did I fail myself, but I didn't keep my promise and grant Matthew his wish… Damn it…"

Taking a small breath, Gilbert spread his wing s and took flight over the lake. Final Escape. He looked down at the Lake. It was so reflective that it looked like a mirror, so beautiful and flawless.

With a sigh, Gilbert slowly hovered down to the water's surface. His face was almost touching the water. He had failed again. With a small sigh he let his wings go limp and submerged himself in the water, deliberately swallowing several mouthfuls and let himself sink to the bottom.

It wasn't very deep. Three meters at its deepest, but Gilbert didn't care. He knew what he was doing and he didn't care if it hurt. He couldn't escape from his troubles in Heaven of Hell. This was the only way. He could feel it slowly starting to work.

He felt hot all over; skin prickled and insides bubbled. That was the power of this place. Half-heartedly he raised his hand up and looked at his skin. The soft flesh was slowly being peeled back to reveal rough black stone. Gilbert would have moved his head to look down at his legs, but his neck was heavy. Flesh already turned to stone.

With a final sigh he watched the last few air bubbles leave his lungs and float towards the surface. His insides were hardening, turning to stone and weighing him down. It hurt. No turning back. With his last bit of strength he closed his eyes. If he stayed at the bottom of this lake forever he would never wake up again. Just want he wanted.
