Chapter 52: What happened?
A/N: I felt like writing in a different timeline style for this chapter. Don't worry you won't miss anything.
Rosie was sitting on a chair next to a bed where Jake laid quietly. It was her turn to keep an eye on the patient and she was hoping to be the first to see him regain consciousness. It didn't take long for her silent prayers to be answered. He shifted his head and Rosie could hear him taking a deep breath.
The moment she made eye contact she said: "Hey, Jake. Welcome back."
Her welcome phrase was heard by her medical colleagues, Tiffany and Amy. They were standing a few feet away talking in a whispering tone. "He's awake?" Tiffany raised her voice back to normal and went to check on him immediately.
Jake turned his head again. "Tif... Tiffany!?" He said sounding a bit confused while trying to focus his vision. He glanced into the room he couldn't recognise. "Where… What happened?"
"Take it easy. One question at the time." Tiffany said.
Jake tried to shift his body a little but then he was struck with a sharp pain on his chest.
"It would be best for you not to move too much." Amy said as she was standing on the other side of the bed holding a chart in her hands. "You have a few fractured ribs."
"My head is killing me." Jake pointed out. "Strange... Also... the muscles around my neck feel very stiff and sore."
"The headache is due to a concussion." Amy said as she was taking notes.
"Concussion!? Fractured ribs!?" Realizing the severity of his condition, Jake began to wander inside his mind to recall what happened for him to end up like this. After a few minutes he realized his memory was in complete darkness. He leaned his head back and sighed softly so he wouldn't trigger the pain in his ribs. He could feel the bandages wrapped tightly around his torso. "Was I hit by a truck? I… I can't remember what happened to me." He finally admitted.
Both Amy and Tiffany gave each other a surprised look.
"It sounds like he's also suffering from short term memory lost." Rosie said also giving her medical statement. "Could be due to the concussion."
"Uh.. right. You're absolutely right, but I'm sure with plenty of rest it will all come back." Amy said when she finished taking notes. "You better stay here, Tiffany. Rosie and I can finish the check-up round. You take care, Jake. Let's go, Rosie."
"Fine... Bye, Jake. Make sure you get plenty of rest. I will bring you breakfast in the morning. Hope you get well soon." Rosie said before leaving the room.
"Thanks, Rosie."
"They are both right. I'm glad you woke up but you should rest for now." Tiffany advised while pouring a glass of water. "I'll give you an aspirin for your headache."
"Thanks. It's hard to remember anything with so much pain everywhere."
After taking the aspirin the effects kicked in instantly. His pain eased up a little and his eyelids felt heavier by the minute.
"Hey, where is Kristy by the way?" Jake asked all of a sudden with a drowsy voice.
"We can talk later. Just try to rest for now." Tiffany whispered.
It didn't take long for Jake to fall asleep again. He felt so calm and peaceful he could barely feel time passing. At one point it all changed. He felt agitated, like he was running with fright squeezing his heart. He felt danger everywhere. Suddenly he felt like a very strong hand suddenly grabbed and squeezed his neck, suffocating him to the edge of his life.
"Jake! Jake, wake up!" The moment Jake opened his eyes, he saw Daemian staring down at him while holding him down by his shoulders. "You were having a nightmare." He said while slowly releasing him.
After at least ten deep breaths Jake began to calm down. "A nightmare!?" He whispered. "I'm… not sure if it really was a nightmare. I dreamt someone was choking me and even now that I'm awake I can still feel that strong hand around my neck."
"Nightmares can appear so real sometimes. That's what makes them so scary. It's best for you to lie still. You know… your ribs." Daemian warned him as he noticed Jake struggling to move his body.
"Right… I keep forgetting until it's too late." He said after triggering a mild pain serge.
"How's your head?" Daemian decided to start a conversation to help him calm down.
"Much better. It still hurts a little though but not as bad as before." Jake looked around realizing the room had no windows. So, he couldn't tell if it was day or night. "How long was that?" He finally asked.
"Well, you slept for almost halve a day. Anyway, it's good to know you're feeling better." Daemian said as he sat down on the chair next to the bed. "Tiffany and Amy didn't want to pomp you full with pain killers so it's best for you to lie still and relax."
"Are they my doctors?"
"More or less. They both know first aid and Tails has high quality medical equips here. I would say: There is nothing to worry about."
"That's great." Jake tried not to sound eager and led the conversation as composed as he could. "And… What about the others?"
"Well, Suzie woke up a while ago but she went right back to sleep after a meal. Amy and Tiffany discovered that she strained her vocal cords. Probably from her eardrum ripping shriek back at the base. That's why she won't be able to speak until the inflammation is gone. It could take a few days. The bad news got her quite upset that's why Julie is keeping her company at all time to comfort her."
"I'm glad she's going to be just fine. Julie sure is becoming very kind to her sister. Even if it's temporary, for Suzie losing her voice must be terrifying. She can talk for hours but on the other hand she also sings beautifully."
"Well, other than that it's all minor injuries for the others who managed to escape. No one has injuries as serious as yours." Daemian pointed out boldly with a mocking tone in it. "They are all resting and recovering as we speak."
"So… I'm the one with bad luck, ha?" Jake asked as he smiled for the first time.
"Pretty much. Yes." Daemian replied honestly.
"It doesn't matter. I'm glad everyone's doing better than me." Jake's character is to always be concerned about the safety of others above his own. This is one of the traits that qualified him to become a police officer. "And what about Kristy? Is she ok? Why didn't she come to see me yet?"
"Well, it's way passed visit hours. It's late and everyone's asleep. I volunteered to keep an eye on you in case you needed anything."
Jake instantly took notice of Daemian's change in behaviour and how he was trying to avoid giving a straight answer. "Daemian, is something wrong?"
"Well, I..."
"Something happened, isn't it? Something terrible happened back at the base. I can feel it, but I can't remember. Please, tell me..."
"Well…" Daemian was clueless of what to say and how to say it.
"Daemian, you have to tell me or at least help me remember."
"Alright..." He leaned forward on his chair. "I'll try and help you remember. Let's just start from what you can remember from back then."
"Why can't you just tell me what happened? Is Kristy alright?"
"Just work with me here." Daemian pleaded. "I just want to help you remember."
Realizing Daemian truly wanted to help him, Jake took a deep breath and summed up the bits of memory he had. "Well… I remember seeing Sonic Chao and Shadow transform into this… super chao to battle an evil chao named Jiro. We used that opportunity to escape through the emergency stairs. We climbed to the roof of the building and…." Jake's memory ran into a mental blockage at a very crucial point. "Darn, whenever I remember walking through the door to go outside, my mind goes completely blank." His frustration kept growing worse.
"Hey, don't push yourself. The more you keep pounding your head over it, the harder it will be to remember. Your memories will come back when your mind is more relaxed, you'll see." Suddenly Daemian heard footsteps walking passed the room. "I think that might be Tiffany." He said while jumping of his chair and rushing to the door. "Could you excuse me for a moment? I have to ask her something. I'll be right back. Try and relax in the meantime."
"Wai... alright..." Jake sighed.
"Tiff!" Daemian called her as soon as the slide door closed behind him.
Tiffany was completely focused on the medical chart she was holding but when she heard Daemian's voice she perked up and looked around. "Hey Daemian, how's Jake?"
"Getting better, but he still can't remember what happened." Then he sighed and while putting his hand on the back of his head he said: "I have to admit that I really suck at lying and keeping a straight face. I almost had to run out of the room before he could continue interrogating me. It's a cop thing now that I think about it."
"Just hang in there." Tiffany said with a soft smile while resting a comforting hand on his shoulder. "I'm not sure how long we can keep him in the dark about what happened."
"Not long, that's for sure." Daemian concluded. "How is Shadow by the way?"
"I checked on him just now. His vital signs are stable." She said while rechecking the pages on the chart she was holding. "He should have already regained consciousness but he's still in this comatose state. I don't know what to think of it."
"Well, at least his life is not in any danger. He's one amazing chao. I'm sure he'll come around any time."
"Yes and that's what I'm also..." Tiffany paused.
They both heard voices coming from a room nearby. It was passed midnight so Tiffany walked to the door to check things out. Daemian followed her as he didn't feel like going back to Jake yet. When the door slid open she found four chao in the middle of a heated conversation. When they saw her standing in the doorway they froze for an instant.
"You guys should be asleep by now. It's late." She said.
"We're really sorry for the ruckus. We started chatting and completely lost track of time." Atlas said lying leisurely in bed.
Tiffany crossed her arms with a worried look on her face. "I'm beginning to think that putting all of you in one room wasn't such a good idea after all."
"Oh no, we'll be good and go to sleep. Just ten more minutes, please?" Rosie begged with pleading eyes. Then Sonic jumped in and spoiled the atmosphere with his silly comment.
"Hey, but what about the slumber party?"
"Oh Sonic… Don't listen to him. He tends to talk crazy when he's drowsy." Rosie explained.
"This is no time for fun and games, Sonic." Atlas scolded. "We have to be fully rest up by tomorrow morning."
"I know..." Sonic said sounding a bit down on spirit.
"Alright, you guys have ten minutes. Then lights out, ok? And no slumber party." Tiffany warned them before leaving.
"Okidoki!" Rosie replied with a pleased smile.
After Tiffany and Daemian left, Rosie give a sigh of relief.
"As I was saying earlier, I still can't believe it was a set up and we fell for it." Sonic was clearly still venting his frustration caused by recent events.
"Don't beat yourself about it, Sonic. From what I heard you and Shadow did everything you could. We will figure out something and strike back next time." Atlas said showing great confidence and strong faith in his former apprentice.
"You're right. At least we managed to get the guardians out of that creepy place." Sonic said trying not to focus too much on the negative.
"As they say: You win some, you lose some." Rosie said. "This was just one battle. There is still a lot to do and no time to be sulking. We have to regroup and plan our next move."
"Yes. But, just like Tails said, we have to find a safe landing site first and that won't be easy since the military has increased their hunt on us by tenfold." Atlas said. "I kept an eye on the radar today and there was always either a chopper or a jet flying in close range. Thanks to the Jet Stream's cloaking technology, we are lucky to remain undetected."
"Dex and his team are guiding everyone to safety." Rosie said.
"He sure is. I already contacted him to schedule a meeting point." TJ said as he was done working behind his personal laptop. "We will arrive there by noon tomorrow."
"Well, tomorrow it is. Right now we might as well do some shut eyes." Rosie proposed as a way to finalize the meeting. "I see Sonic is already in dreamland."
"Ha, that sloppy brat. After walking out of a heated battle he still pretends he's not tired at all." Atlas complained.
"He tries to hide it but I know he's upset he couldn't save all of his friends." Rosie said while tugging him gently.
"I... will get her back..." Sonic mumbled in his sleep.
Rosie smiled. "That's Sonic, alright. Sleep tight."
"Alright… Good night, guys." TJ said before turning off the lights.
Jake
Meanwhile Jake was left alone inside the bedroom with still no sign of Daemian coming back. He was wide awake and his frustration was escalating rapidly.
'They're hiding something from me. If it wasn't for this splitting headache and fractured ribs I would get up and find out by myself. What about Kristy? Every time I ask for her, both Daemian and Tiffany had this gloomy expression on their face.'
"You should heed your friends' advice and just relax." A tender voice said suddenly interrupted the silence.
Jake looked down to his left foot where the voice came from and saw Zelos sitting quietly at the foot of his bed. "Zelos!? I didn't hear you coming in."
"I apology. It's a bad habit of mine." He slightly lowered his head.
"Don't worry, it's ok." Jake said as he laid his head back on the pillow. "I could use some company right now."
"I wish I could help you with your injuries but saving everyone back at the base took a lot of me."
"Hey, don't worry about it. It's not like I'm dying." He said trying to hide his personal frustration with comforting words. "You too should take it easy and rest."
"I will." The chao stood up on the mattress. "Remember, you have to relax your mind for the memory block to dissolve. The sooner your memories come back, the better. I wish you good luck and good night."
"Thanks and good night, Zelos." Jake said and soon he was once again alone with his thoughts.
"Alright Jake, the answers are all inside your head. All you have to do is unlock them." At that moment he suddenly recalled a meditation training he once did with Kristy and her brother a long time ago. "Meditation!? I'm not very good at it but I don't have much choice. Let's see if that mind training really works. I just hope I don't doze off like I did the first time."
The moment he closed his eyes, he clearly remembered a familiar male voice telling him step by step what to do. He made sure to clear his mind and kept his breathing rhythm steady. Slowly both his mind and body felt very light like he was floating on water.
Flashback
After drifting in completely darkness Jake found himself walking through the door where his memory trail abruptly ended.
"The hangar is that way." Amy was pointing to the west side of the complex. With an unconscious Atlas in her arms she checked on the other two chao. "TJ, Rosie... stay close to me."
"Roger." Both chao replied.
"What is going on down there?" Kristy wondered as she could hear the ruckus coming from the ground area at the back of the facility.
"Kristy, we have to hurry. This way! Run!" Jake grabbed her lower arm to make sure she would stay close to him. As he saw Amy jumping over the edge to the other building nearby he focused on doing the same by running as fast as he could.
"Jake! Look out!" Kristy pulled Jake's arm forcing him to stop. She noticed some strange light emitting fissures on the ground ahead. Suddenly there was a huge explosion in front of them and three spheres of light rocketed high up into the sky. Everyone was knocked down by the blast.
"What was that?" Jake was still in shock of how close they were of getting caught in the explosion. "Kristy, are you alright?"
"Yes, I'm fine."
They both sat up but kept their eyes fixed into the night sky. "The purple sphere is that evil chao. The two golden ones are..." Kristy explained as she stared at the three dots of light in the sky.
"That's Sonic and Shadow." Rosie said while pointing up.
"Jake! Kristy! Are you alright?" Amy yelled as she was standing on the roof of the other building. The explosion damaged both buildings. A huge portion of both roofs and the side walls collapsed.
"We're fine." Kristy replied.
"Knuckles!" Amy said when she saw him jumping out of the gap landing next to her.
"They sure know how to trash the place." The echidna noted at first. "Lucky for me I was able to gather the emeralds." He showed Amy a loaded backpack on his back.
"This gap is too big for you guys to jump over." Knuckles concluded after checking the size of the gap.
"There must be another way around." Jake tried to figure out another escape route.
"Guys, look! That's the Jet Stream." Kristy said while pointing the direction at the same time. Both Amy and Knuckles turned around to see the aircraft hovering above the base.
"Tails left the hangar." TJ said joyfully.
Knuckles smirked. "Alright, Tails. Perfect timing." Then he turned back to Kristy and Jake. "Wait right there! We're going to signal him to come this way."
"Alright! Hurry!" Jake yelled.
With nowhere to go Kristy decided to take a peek on what's happening on ground level.
"What is going on down there?" Jake came the edge of the roof and saw how the guardians were escaping through a tunnel made of water heading straight to a gate at the rear side of the facility.
"That must be Zelos' doing. He's helping the guardians escape." Kristy said. "The dark chao sure know how to give the GUN soldiers a hard time."
By watching the situation Jake completely understood his strategy. "The rear gate is closer to the forest. Taking cover there might give them some advantage to escape. It's going smoothly. The dark chao planned all this? Unbelievable."
"Their mischievous and organized demeanour is their strongest weapon." Kristy said. "I couldn't believe it when I first heard it, but there is no point denying it. Zelos sure is one powerful water god."
"He sure is. I'm just glad he's on our side." Jake turned his vision high up into the night sky. "How are those two doing up there? By working together they have a better chance of defeating that creep."
"I'm not sure about that." Kristy said analyzing the situation. "The way that evil chao is fighting... He's... holding back. Staling both Sonic and Shadow. Question is; for what reason?"
"He likes to play around, remember. He thinks he's invincible." Jake explained. "I'm sure Sonic and Shadow will see through his scheme. Look! Our ride is here."
The Jet Stream hovered over them landing on the undamaged side of the building.
"Come on. We have to leave now. Tails and the others are waiting."
Kristy nodded. They both turned around toward the aircraft when they noticed an unusual phenomenon. A mysterious dark smoke was floating near the ground gathering quickly and rising like a spiral in front of them.
"What is that?" Jake wondered stunned as he instinctively held Kristy's lower arm and pulled her back.
The dark smoke banished and a human-like being was glaring at the two intently with his dull gold coloured eyes. He had a light blue skin and silver coloured hair.
'What kind of freak is this guy?' Jake wondered stunned by this threat.
"What does he want?" Kristy whispered to Jake.
The being pulled up his arm and Jake's body started to glow a purple shield around as he was lifted into the air.
"Jake!" Kristy yelled in shock as she saw him floating in mid air.
"Let him go!" She demanded sternly.
"Kristy, forget it... Just go... Get out of here!" Jake said as he was struggling to breath. The strangle force was not only restraining and lifting him in the air. It was also suffocating him.
"I'm not leaving you."
"Do it! Go!"
Kristy wouldn't listen. She glared at the being fearlessly and yelled: "Don't hurt him. Let him go!"
At that exact moment there was a small explosion at the creature back.
'That was a lasershot and it came from the Jet Stream.' Kristy realized.
The attack didn't harm the strange being but it was powerful enough to draw his attention to the aircraft. The purple shield around Jake suddenly disappeared and he fell down to the floor.
"What... happened?" he asked while pant ing. He was amazed he was suddenly released.
"Tails is helping us." She replied while helping him stand up.
"In that case we have to make a run for it. Now!" Jake said as he grabbed Kristy's arm so they both took off running.
They could barely set a few steps in the opposite way as they saw the being standing in front of them once again. This time he quickly charged an energy ball in his hand and fired it directly at Jake. He was struck in his chest throwing him twenty feet away before he landed on the floor.
"Jake!" Kristy tried to run to him when she felt a strong hand grabbing her from behind.
She looked at her arm and saw a blue hand holding her tightly. She instinctively reacted by swinging her right elbow to her attacker's face, freeing herself from his grip and tried once again to run to where Jake was. Less than five steps away, the being restrained her again, using more force this time. Putting up a struggle to break free didn't work this time as he only made his grip even tighter and more painful. Kristy looked up into the sky to see Shadow and Sonic still fighting Jiro.
"SHAaaa..." She tried to scream but her mouth was covered and her scream muffled as a result.
"He won't hear you. He won't come to save you. This time... you're mine." The being whispered with a deep voice that made her skin crawl. Kristy then felt an extremely painful energy shock flow through her entire body. Her agonizing scream was simply muffled by the strong hand covering her mouth. It felt like the stung of thousands of bees striking at the same time all over her skin, breaking all strength in her muscles and all sense of awareness. Her mind quickly slipped into darkness.
Shadow was totally focused in battle when a violent pain struck him as well. The pain was so intense he was almost knocked out of his super form.
'What's with this pain? Why? What's wrong with me?' He wondered shocked as he was panting heavily. His mind was suddenly focused on Kristy. He instinctively knew something was wrong with her.
While Sonic was fighting Jiro, he looked down from his airborne position and saw people standing on the facility's roof. One of them was Jake, out cold on the ground. Then his eyes popped wide open as he saw Kristy, also unconscious, being held in the arms of a blue skinned being.
"KRISTY!" Shadow yelled and immediately dashed down full speed to save her.
The being saw him coming and smiled cockily at his desperate move. Then both were quickly veiled in a mysterious smoke moving up in a spiral motion and banished. Shadow reached in time to land in an empty smoke screen. He looked around but the being disappeared without a trace, taking Kristy with him.
"Damn it!" He roared furiously.
Not far away, Jake was half conscious and saw it all happen. He was in so much pain, he couldn't move or even mumble a single word. By the time Amy and the others arrived to help him he was completely passed out.
"Man, this fake chao sure is tough and where is Shadow?" Sonic wondered as he paused to think a new strategy since all his efforts so far didn't work.
"What's the matter? Got tired and ready to give up?" Jiro teased him. "Maybe you should follow your buddy's example and flee, while you still can."
"Shut up... I'm just getting started and that grumpy chao is not my buddy." Sonic said as he readied himself for the next attack. "I can finish you all by my.. whatta!"
Out of nowhere something passed him by with tremendous speed. The generated gust shove him aside violently. By the time he regained his bearing he saw Shadow again who was able to snatch Jiro in a blink of an eye and was ranting in his face.
"Where is he? Where did he take her?"
Jiro was completely shocked at first. 'Where did he come from? I didn't sense him coming at all. Was he able to move this fast all along? At this tremendous speed?'
He decided to put up a cold look. "What are you talking about?"
"Don't play the fool with me. It all makes sense now. This was all a set up. You're just a diversion so that your master could kidnap Kristy. Now, tell me, where did he take her? ANSWER ME!"
"What?! Kristy's been kidnapped!" Sonic reacted shocked as he inevitably overheard what Shadow just yelled.
"Ah… so my master was successful. This means my mission is complete." Jiro said sounding very pleased. "My master is one step closer in completing his goal. What a shame... A real shame the super chao lost his guardian."
"You're in no position to be patronizing me. Where did he take her? Talk! Or else…"
"Even if I knew I wouldn't tell you." Jiro said as he started to chuckle. "You better suck it up, puny chao. You probably will never see her again."
Hearing these last words followed by the mocking laughter made something snap inside Shadow's mind. His yellow energy aura turned dark red.
Around his right hand he charged a small ball with concentrated chaos energy and fired him right into his face. The explosion was big and strong enough to turn the dark night into bright daylight for a few seconds. At first the impact blew the Jiro's head off than the rest of his body was dematerialised. Sonic was able to create an energy shield to protect himself from the blast.
'He did it! He defeated that fake chao with that monstrous explosion. I never imagined Shadow could pull an attack of that magnitude.' Sonic thought as he witnessed everything. 'This probably proves how much he cares...'
After that amazing attack Shadow lowered his arms and stared spaced out into the night sky.
"Must... find... her..." He mumbled as he slipped out of his super form and started to plume to the ground.
Sonic dashed in to catch him, he landed on a field a few miles away from the base and realized right away that Shadow passed out due to exhaustion.
End flashback
"NO! KRISTY!" Jake's voice resounded loudly through the corridors. "We have to save her!"
"Jake, please, lay still." Daemian jumped out of his sleep and saw him trying to get up. He pulled him back on his bed and pinned him down.
"You don't understand! Kristy was abducted. That strange... being took her away." Jake said as he kept struggling.
"He got his memory back." Tiffany pointed out not long after she came in with Amy right behind her. Lucky for Daemian they came running after the loud shout and didn't have to call them.
"We know. We all saw it happen." Daemian admitted.
"Then why didn't you stop him?" Jake argued without thinking.
"He literally banished... We couldn't do anything after he countered the Jet Stream's laser attack with an electromagnetic blast. It knocked all the systems offline." Tiffany explained.
"Not even Shadow in his super form was able to save her." Amy added.
"Why didn't you tell me any of this earlier? Why?"
"When you couldn't remember, we decided to postpone telling you what happened." Tiffany answered honestly. "We knew you would get all worked up if we did and that will only slow down your healing process."
"The sedative is ready." Amy said as she handed a small syringe to Tiffany.
"Thanks, Amy." She rolled up his sleeve and said: "Jake, this will help you calm down and rest."
"No! I don't want to sleep. I have to find her." He said as he kept struggling to get out of his bed.
"Let go of me, Daemian!" No matter how hard he tried, he didn't have enough strength. He was in such panic, he barely felt the needle piercing his skin. "Let go! Let…" His speech quiet down quickly.
"This is for your own good." Daemian said with a calm voice.
As the sedative was taking effect Jake's body quickly relaxed and his mind dozed off into slumber. As Jake finally fell asleep Deamian released his grip on him.
He sighed to calm down, looked at Tiffany and said: "Well, it's not like we didn't expect this outburst."
"You're right but still... Knowing in advance doesn't always make things easier."
"It was probably for the best since we have another matter at hand right now.", an unexpected voice suddenly chimed in.
The trio looked towards the door and saw Atlas standing in the doorway.
"Atlas!? Is something wrong?" Tiffany said as she recalled finding him and his friends still arguing late at night.
"Yes, what do you mean with 'another matter'?" Amy asked.
"Shadow woke up.", the red chao answered coldly.
A/N: Hi everyone! Yes, I'm still alive and well. Going through the ups and downs of life. My worst ordeal right now is that I can't find a steady job thanks to the economic crisis and high unemployment. I'm just glad I can fall back on my hobby of writing Chao Bond where I'm better appreciated. First of all I would like to thank you, all my readers, for your patience. I've been idle for centuries. I read all the comments but I wasn't ready to continue. I read a comment about it being 9 years since I published the first chapter of this story. That gave me an idea. I decided to upload a new chap this month since Oct. 1st 2014 was the 8th (not 9th) anniversary of Chao Bond. Where does the time go? There's is still a lot of mysteries, adventures and new characters introductions to make you love this story even more and I'm set to keep my promise that this story has a beginning and will have an end, no matter how long it takes.
Last but not least, I would like to once again thank v1ciouzmizzazn for her fan artwork that's super awesome. The one of Kristy and Shadow on Tumblr really made me laugh. You illustrated it spot on. ;)
