Chapter 53
~~∞∞Ω∞∞~~
It was almost midday when they left the hotel room. Atemu led them out into the streets before Yugi directed them to the cafe that Atemu had pulled from the phone book in the hotel room. He had chosen it so it wasn't close to where they were staying or where Yugi's grandfather lived but not too far for it to be a problem for the old man to get there.
Yugi was fiddling with the bottom of his top as they reached the cafe. It was only slightly busy and because it was situated outside it kept the smells of food and coffee getting to Yugi's sensitivity to the smell of food. They reached the cafe and found Yugi's grandfather already there and facing them with a smile and Yugi gripped the bottom of his shirt tightly as they got closer.
"Yugi have you still not gotten over that little habit. You're going to ruin your shirt."
Yugi gave a nervous chuckle as it was something that his mates didn't know but there was a small smile on his face that was caused by his grandfathers old jabbing. Yugi sat down with Yami and Atemu on either side of him just to be on the safe side.
"So?"
"So?"
"I really did miss you Yugi. I have to be honest I thought you were dead."
"I know, the longer I was gone the more I knew you would probably start to think that way."
"How did you get away?"
"It wasn't easy but I would rather not talk about it here. But when I had I came to a factory and found Yami and Atemu there. They helped me, especially when he found me again. I've stayed with them to heal and learn before planning to make my way back to you. I couldn't hunt to save myself before I met them." Yugi said with a small chuckle.
"That's true you scared off everything within a kilometre radius."
"That small."
"Yeah. They probably knew you would be too loud so they would have time to get away."
Yugi pouted at what Yami told him as he chuckled and his grandfather had a laugh. He was glad that his grandfather was relaxed to laugh at what had happened.
"I hate hunting."
"You're getting better at it though." Atemu assured him.
"I still suck at it thought."
"Practice and patience. You will get better at it." Atemu said.
"So Yugi I know I didn't react well to everything last night but you need to understand, I didn't think you were alive. And to have you come back only to find out you are what I hunt, well organise hunts for other hunters now. It was a little too much to bare."
"I know Ji-chan. I never wanted this though. I didn't have a choice in the matter. I'm just trying to make the best of it."
"So did the guy that kidnapped you the father of your pups?"
"No." Yugi whispered.
"Than..." Solomon looked at Yami and Atemu realising that how overprotective they were of his grandson. "One of you are the father."
"No Ji-chan. They are both the fathers."
"BOTH!"
"Ji-chan please." Yugi whispered as everyone turned to stare at the group after the outburst. "Yami and Atemu are my mates and the father of your great-grandchildren. They were going to hold off until I gave birth to them and they were old enough for our friends to watch them so I could come see you but I didn't want to turn back."
"How? Two mates? I don't understand."
"Normally when wolves mate they only take one life mate but sometimes if both mates like another they can sometimes take another mate. When we met Yugi and helped him recover and stay with us we both fell for him and after talking we both agreed and we were able to get Yugi to confess his feelings as well."
"How did that go?"
"Challenging."
"Hey!"
"Yugi you sometimes are challenging at times."
"Ji-chan!"
"Yugi it is true."
Yugi pouted and crossed his arms and sunk in his chair. Atemu and Yami chuckled while his grandfather smiled.
"So Yugi how did this happen? I left you in the shop by yourself for such a short time. I was only in the basement. What happened?"
"I swept out the front of the store while you were down there as it was quiet and when I was about to head in there was some noises coming from the alley so I went to check. I couldn't find anything so I went to leave that's when they attacked. I was knocked to the ground and when I looked up I was surrounded by wolves. There was a man there who told them to 'stand down', he wasn't going to let them hurt me. I was about to leave when a wolf jumped on me and held me down while the man pulled out a needle and covered my mouth and then it just went dark after a minute.
"When I woke again I was chained to a bed. He came in, had his fun and then changed me."
Yugi sniffed as he finished. He didn't want to tell his grandfather the details as he didn't want to upset him. He would have liked to do it more privately but it seemed his grandfather couldn't wait. Yugi figured he already blamed himself for him going kidnapped when it wasn't his fault and he probably wouldn't have been able to stop it.
"Yugi when I went downstairs there is a secret room in the basement. I was in there tracking werewolves. He was able to mask his tracks till he got you. I tracked him as he left but I was no match for someone like him and lost his track before I could alert the other hunters. Maybe if I hadn't lost the track on him than none of this ever happened. "
Yugi looked at him and saw that what had happened had been haunting his grandfather and that he couldn't forgive himself for it. Yugi had never blamed him and he still didn't, what happened could never be his fault. Yugi had accepted what happened now and he just needed his grandfather to as well.
"Ji-chan it was not your fault. I never blamed you and I still don't please don't blame yourself. I've accepted what has happened and I'm glad that is happened, in a way."
"How! How can you accept that?" He said outraged at the thought.
"Because I met them." Yugi said looking at his mates.
"We are glad we met you as well Yugi. Just wish it didn't happen the way it did." Atemu said and Yami squeezed Yugi's hand that he was holding.
"I love them and if it had to happen the way it did than I'd do it again, regardless of all the pain I went through."
Solomon nodded slowly, understanding where Yugi was coming from. He didn't like it but if his only living relative was happy then he wouldn't change any of it. He could see that Yami and Atemu loved his grandson and from the looks of it Yugi hadn't changed one bit so he believed what they told him about the rogue werewolves.
Just as he thought that his phone started ringing.
