It probably shouldn't be to big of a surprise that Loki had been placed in the back of Nebula small space craft with a big electronic collar around his neck that would shock him if he moved to much.
Lucky for Loki, he was an expert in sitting absolutely still with crossed legs and a devilish grin on his face while his green eyes were glistening like a wolfs.
And Nebula was in expert is not making any of it in any way comfortable for Loki, not allowing him to lay down for a rest and only offer him food or water when it became necessary. Taking pleasure in his eyes longing for the water she would hold right in front of him, yet preci out of reach so he could not grab it. And even if he tried he would be shocked by the collar.
"Come on, surely you don't need this thing to satisfy your sadist needs?" Loki asked casually pointing at the collar.
Nebulas eyes were cold. "This attempt of winning your freedom was a rather pathetic one."
"Meh, it was worth a try." Loki shrugged. "You might get lucky though, I might not actually run away if you free me."
Nebula snorted. "You are looking for your opportunity to betray me, I may be a sadist, but I am no fool."
"What?! How insulting!" Loki gasped. "Why would I ever do that?! You're just the person whom loved torturing me in the past and has clearly stated she would like to keep doing it until I break. Then get rid of me because her toy finally broke. Now why would I ever want to leave such delightful company?" he asked.
Nebula snorted. "You are not making your own case any better." she pointed out.
"Well, at least our relationship is one of honesty." Loki sighed. "I suppose that is the one healthy thing about it." he shrugged. "You just like seeing me in pain, and I am using you so that I may be kept alive and hopefully, one day get free. How-ever, I wonder if we could still share a common goal."
"And what would that be?" Nebula asked.
"I wonder… How deep is your desire to defy Thanos?" Loki asked. "You've taken the first step… The hatred within you is real. Right now it is aimed at your sister, but is it her you should feel such hatred towards? Doesn't Thanos deserve it just as much."
Nebula was quiet, her jaw tight.
"I swore revenge." Loki looked up, his eyes cold and serious. "I will stop Thanos in his plans. I know what he desires to do. Collect all six infinity stones, then with a snap… Kill half of all life in the universe. It could be me, could be you. He intends to do it without judgment it will be at random… Now, if I knew it was a guarantee that I would make it, I wouldn't care much for the rest of the universe how-ever, even so. To ensure he looses, looses to me would be the sweetest revenge I could think of. I fully intend to defy him." he stated. "What I am trying to figure out now, is if you would be willing to do the same… Reclaim yourself, your own life. Defy Thanos."
Nebula was quiet as she looked at Loki. "No one defies Thanos." she informed.
"No one yet." Loki corrected her.
"He is stronger than us." Nebula pointed out. "Especially you, the way you are now."
Loki glanced down, then he looked up. "I recently spend a decent amount of time on a world… A world called earth." he commented. "The planet is… Pathetic, honestly. The creatures living there, humans. They are neither strong nor smart, they are a weak species. Their life span pathetically short, their average intelligence poor and yet… In spite of all of this. They will always defy who-ever tries to control them. They will die just to defy their fate and role in the universe… Their lives are so short, but filled with oh so much defiance." he sighed deeply. "I can't help but respect them for that." he admitted. "I can't loose to mere humans, if they will be so defiant to stare down their own fate… Then I shall to. It is indeed worth dying for, much better than to live a million years with a bowed head, grovelling to the ways of fate."
Nebula was quiet as she looked at Loki, then slowly she reached forward her hands and touched his collar, then it dropped to the ground.
"A deal." Nebula asked. "Help me kill my sister! Then show me how to defy Thanos. And if you betray me!" she grabbed his throat. "Then our fun will just have started! Even when you break, I will continue, even when you beg for death I will not give it to you."
Loki smirked amused. "Deal." he stated and Nebula let go. "Can you do something about this to?" he asked pointing at the round disk still stuck on his neck.
"No, that one is not mine." Nebula informed. "You probably have noticed, it is not merely attached to your skin, the wires from it are now wired through your entire body. Wrapped around your heart, brain, finger bones. If you try to pull that out the pain will be far worse than anything I ever did to you. And you'll die, naturally."
Loki pouted. "How do I get that out of me?" he asked.
Nebula shrugged. "I got no idea."
Loki groaned but leaned back then sighed. "So kill your sister?" he asked and he sighed. "It sure has been ages, since i've been allowed to kill anyone."
"Got cold feet?" Nebula asked and Loki chuckled slightly.
"You know a fun thing? It's when you are told you can't do something you really want to do it!" Loki stated. "You can't have ice-cream. Well now I really want ice-cream! You can't have Asgard thrones, well now I want it." his smile turned amused. "You can't hurt anyone… Oh you tempt me. Now I just really, really want to do it."
"You sound like a child." Nebula commented.
"Says the woman whom calls me her toy." Loki chuckled. "And only feels alive when she gets to play with her toys." he shook his head. "Don't worry, when you defy Thanos you are going to feel so alive. You'll love it. It'll be far better than playing with any toy."
"It does… Feel good." Nebula admitted and Loki smirked.
"Oh just you wait." he chuckled. "Just you wait."
