We're only 11 away from 1,000 people! I have to apologize for the delay in this chapter. My muse has been scarce for CM since the Thomas Gibson news. I've stopped watching the show completely this season. That, on top of my continual recovery from the car accident (still not home) has put a bit of a damper on the writing. But, I managed to get this chapter out and will hopefully be able to finish this story soon.

Chapter Fifty-One

It was a rare weekend for the fledgling family as Will was working and they had Henry. After a large breakfast, they spent the rest of the morning at the park and were now on their way to Hotch's as JJ was requesting a nap. The boys were quiet in the back having been worn out by the earlier activities and JJ's head lay against the backrest as she gazed out the window, holding tight to Hotch's hand.

"Hotch!" she exclaimed suddenly, sitting up. They were only a few blocks from his house. "Hotch, stop!"

"What?" Hotch demanded as he pulled over to the side.

JJ grimaced, sheepishly. "Sorry. But there's an open house back there and it's that house that I really like and would you mind if we stopped to see it?"

He glanced back at Jack and Henry, who both shrugged. "Sure, if you're not too tired. But next time you see a house that you'd like to see, could you maybe say so in a slightly less panicked voice?"

"Sorry," she mumbled, but was unable to stop her smile from forming.

Hotch went around the block, parking in front of the house. There were a few people milling about. They were greeted by the real estate agent as they entered.

"Welcome, welcome. My name's Betty Sue Gribaldi. The house is four bedroom, two and half bath, one of which is a master bath," Betty Sue told them. She glanced down at the boys. "There's a tree house and a swimming pool in the back."

"Ooh!" Jack breathed out.

"A pool, Mama!" Henry shouted. "Mama, a pool!"

JJ shushed them. "Okay, guys, we'll get to it." She turned her attention to the real estate agent. "I'm sorry; they're a little excited."

Betty Sue waved them off. "It's good to see. Anywho, all of the information is in this flyer. Feel free to look around. Let me know if you have any questions."

"Thank you," Hotch offered as JJ ushered the boys towards the stairs.

"Mama, she sound just like Aunt Penny," Henry whispered, loudly. "Is she Aunt Penny's mom?"

Turning crimson, JJ hurried him up the stairs. "No, she's not. She's just… perky, too."

Jack looked to his father, questioningly. "Perky is what Uncle Dave calls Miss Prentiss' boobs."

"Jack!" his father admonished, blushing. "I don't want to hear you talk like that again."

"Guess you're gonna have to have another talk with Uncle Dave, huh?" Jack asserted, his head down.

Hotch glared at JJ when he realized that she was snickering. "A big talk. A big, long talk. You and I are going to have one, too."

JJ grabbed Jack's hand and sent Henry back with Hotch to separate the Hotchner men for a bit. "Oh, look. This is a nice room."

"I want this room!" Henry declared. He hung off of Hotch's leg as he stared upward. "Look, Hotch. There's stars on the ceiling."

"There are." Hotch walked around the perimeter of the room, checking out the closet. He came to the second door and opened it to find a bathroom that led to another bedroom. "This room shares a bathroom with another bedroom."

JJ followed him inside. "It even leads to the hallway. This is a decent sized bathroom. The kids could easily share this."

Jack pushed past them to the other room. "This is definitely my room! Look at all the shelves."

"They do seem nicely built," Hotch muttered, knocking on the wood. They returned to the hallway and entered the next bedroom, which, though slightly smaller than the other two, had a closet that ran the length of one wall.

"This room gets good light," JJ commented. She peeked at Hotch. "It would make a good nursery. We could put the crib over there and a rocking chair here. A changing table could go there and a book shelf in that corner."

Hotch studied the room, nodding. "I can see it."

Henry pulled on his mother's arm. "If the baby is sleeping in here, where are you going to sleep?"

"There's a room across the hall," JJ replied.

"But then, where is Hotch going to sleep?" His face was scrunched up in confusion.

Jack rolled his eyes when his parents hemmed and hawed. "They're going to sleep in the same bed. They're going to have to take turns watching the baby."

Henry's face lit up in understanding. "Oh! That makes sense."

"Kids," Jack lamented. "Let's go see their room."

"You know this isn't actually our house, right?" Hotch asked, worried that he was getting in over his head.

Again, JJ laughed. "Sorry, honey, they're already off. Don't worry; we'll explain how the whole thing works later."

Hotch took her outstretched hand. "Can you show me how it all works later?"

"Forgotten already, old man?" she teased.

"Mom! Dad!" Jack shouted, stopping their flirting. "You have to come see this tub."

JJ and Hotch rushed to the master bathroom, stopping in the doorway when they found the boys inside of a huge jet tub. JJ climbed inside, too. "Oh, my God. I want this tub. I need this tub."

Sighing, Hotch took a step forward. "Do I need to include you in the 'this is how buying a house works' talk, too?"

"Get in here."

"It's just a tub," he whined, but crawled in with the rest of the family.

JJ grinned. "Just imagine after a long day at work, the kids are in bed, candles are lit all around, champagne chilling in a bucket, you and I sharing a bubble bath..."

Hotch jumped out of the bathtub. "Okay, that's it; no more imagining. Let's go downstairs and check out the kitchen."

"Why is Dad acting so weird?" Jack pestered JJ.

"Um, I think he's just really looking forward to spending some guy time with you and Henry while I take a nap," she speculated, sending up a private thanks when he accepted the explanation without any follow-up.

Downstairs, there was a living room, dining room, office with enough room for two desks, a half bath, and a kitchen. JJ's jaw dropped the moment she stepped into the kitchen. "Wow. Just wow. This… this is my is dream kitchen. All of it, I wouldn't change a thing."

Hotch closed his eyes briefly, before glancing out of the french doors. "There's a sun room out here and a deck out back." He turned to find the other three staring at him, waiting. He knew in that moment that he had lost any battle to at least not attempt to try for the house. "Let's go check out the basement before we track down the real estate agent."

The boys cheered as JJ kissed him, sweetly. "I love you."

"You better."
