"Maggie-chan…"

It had been so long since I heard my mom call me that. Her words rang through my ears like that of the sweetest sounding bell in the world. Of course, all my friends called me that now, but it didn't mean as much coming from their lips.

As I sat up, I noticed she was crying and I was too. We hugged each other for the longest time.

"How long was I asleep?" I asked.

"From the time you left your friends, about a week," she said.

"What? But I was supposed to meet them in three days…" I said. I wondered how everyone else was doing. Seeing the concern in my face, she embraced me again.

"Everything is going to be alright, Maggie-chan, I promise," she whispered into my ear.

I sighed, feeling the aching sensation in my back from my collision with a tree not long ago.

"It's been a while," she said, tearing up.

I looked up at her face. It was like she hadn't aged at all in the years I was gone!

"I… I thought you were dead!" I cried.

"No, Maggie," she reassured me, wiping away a tear. "I needed an excuse to go to work full time."

I looked at her funny, especially confused by this answer.

She laughed and said, "I know I sound like a horrible mother, but everything will make sense shortly, I promise, Maggie." She kissed my forehead sweetly. "Are you well enough to stand?"

"I think so," I said, standing for the first time in a week.

I stumbled a bit, but she caught me before I could fall. That was when I noticed her new attire.

When I was little, we weren't exactly poor, but we didn't have a ton of money either. Needless to say we didn't have many options for clothes. Certainly beautiful dresses and other nice things were out of the budget, but now… I was completely taken aback by her beautiful, long, red evening gown with shiny diamonds sewn into it. She even had a string of pearls around her neck.

She looked like a million berries!

But I had a strange feeling like I'd seen her in that dress before…

She smiled at me again and said, "All in due time, Maggie."

She led me out of the room that seemed to be a infirmary. The room we walked into was a huge lobby area with seating chairs, a front desk, and even a sign with KRONOS written in a fancy font behind the desk.

There were three girls in matching uniforms staring at me from behind one of the couches. They were they were triplets from what I could see. All of them had matching shades of red hair and almost the exact same face.

I quickly looked away from them and turned to Mom. "Where are we?" I asked.

"This is where I work," she said. "I'm the Vice-President of Kronos." She and I walked up to the front desk.

The woman tending the desk looked like she really didn't want to be there. The lady looked to be in her early twenties. She had both purple hair and purple eyes. Her name tag read 'Clio – Muse of History.'

"Clio," Mom said. "Inform the boss that she has woken up, please."

"It's not like she doesn't know that…" she said, starting to pick up something that reminded me of a mini transponder snail. "Whatever…" she said as my mom gave her an unamused stare.

"You better straighten out your attitude or Atropos will come at you with scissors again…" Mom warned.

Clio looked behind us at the girls hiding behind the couches.

All these names sounded familiar somehow…

Muse? Atropos? That was one of the Fates from Greek mythology, right? I thought. Maybe it's just a coincidence…

"Of course, Mrs. Apollo…" Clio replied, still very clearly expressing her disinterest in her work.

I'd almost forgotten my own last name. It had been so long since I'd heard it, almost seven years. (I'd given up my dad's last name when he basically disowned me. Apollo was my mom's maiden name but Feebus was my dad's last name.)

Wait a second... Apollo?! That can't be a coincidence… That's the Greek God of the Sun.

Come to think of it, Mom had a name tag too. I caught a glimpse of it as we kept walking through the building.

'Orazia Apollo – Goddess of the Sun'

Orazia Apollo was my mother's name, but goddess?! Come on. It had to be some sort of weird title. She obviously wasn't a goddess.

My mother wasn't a goddess, she just wasn't.

Maybe I was still dreaming. Maybe I was still asleep, and all this was just a weird dream. Yes, that was it. It was only a dream. I'd wake up back on the Sunny with everyone. No one was missing and everything would go back to the way it should be.

Old scars shouldn't be opened again.

I pinched myself, but I didn't wake up. Again. Still nothing. One more time. Now it just hurt.

I was going to try again, but my mom opened a very big door with the label beside it reading 'President's Room'.

I wondered why we were goin in here. What could the president of a corporation like this want with just a little girl like me?

The president's room was even bigger than the lobby. All the walls where pure white, and the carpet's color was a dark grey. On the far side of the room was a semicircular platform with steps leading up to it. In the room were various chairs and coffee tables. The lighting of the room made it seem ominous and enigmatic.

That's when I figured it out. I'd been here in a dream with my mother. At least, I thought it was a dream…

"Come on in, Orazia," said a woman from inside the room. I noticed she was standing on the platform.

The woman was fairly tall. She had dark skin; long, wavy black hair, pink eyes, and very large breasts. She was wearing a long mint green gown that showed way too much cleavage, and sported a brown belt at the waist. She also had a necklace with a working clock as the charm.

Who is this strange woman…? I wondered. Is she the president?

"Clio told me you'd both be coming," she said. I noticed she had a certain sassy twang in her voice. "So, she's woken up, yeah?"

"Yes," Mom said, turning to me. "Maggie, this is the boss of Kronos."

"Hello," I said to the woman. "I'm-"

"I know who you are," she interrupted. "Call me Father Time. But others call me Kronos."

"But you're a girl…" I said. "Why do they call you Father when-"

"Well, Father Time was my Father. I inherited his title when he retired. But that doesn't matter right now," she interrupted me. And with a flick of her finger a holographic screen appeared in midair in front of me.

"Straw Hat Luffy," she said as images of Luffy appeared on the screen.

My eyes lit up to see my captain. "Where is he? Can I see him? Is he here?!" I asked.

"Shut up. No, he's not here," she said. "But you can see him later. I gotta catch you up to speed first."

"Let's sit down," my mom suggested. We all sat down and the holographic screen followed me.

There was a knock on the door as it opened. I looked back to see the girl at the front desk, along with two girls that looked a lot like her, the other red-headed triplets were there as well, there was a pink haired man that looked to be blind, one man who had a matching red uniform with the pink hair man, and two other men with matching black and white outfits. All in all a total of ten people.

"You're four seconds late," Father Time said, a little irritated.

They all came in and stared at me.

"First, let's introduce everyone," Mom said. "Fates, you first."

The red-headed triplets stepped forward, completely in sync.

The triplet with glasses spoke first. "My name is Atropos, Cutter of the String of Fate."

The second triplet who sported mean expression said, "I'm Lachesis and I am the Dispenser of Lots."

The last triplet who looked to be the nicest said, "My name is Clotho, and I Spin the String of Fate."

"Muses," Mom said. "You're next."

The red-headed triplets stepped back to make way for the purple-headed triplets.

An enthusiastic girl skipped forward and said, "I'm the Muse of Comedy, Thailia!"

The second triplet who had eyes that were red and puffy. Her voice cracked as she said, "I'm Melpomene, the Muse of Tragedy."

The last Muse was Clio. She sighed and rolled her eyes. "Ugh, this is stupid" she complained. "But whatever… My name Clio, and I'm the Muse of History."

"Is it our turn yet?" asked the matching men who wore black and white.

"Sure," said Father Time. "Go on ahead."

The one who had white hair, grey eyes, and black clothes stepped forward and said dramatically, "I am Light…"

"And I," said the one who had black hair, grey eyes and white clothes dramatically, "am Chaos!"

"And we are…" they said together. "Actors!"

"No they're not," Father Time said. "They're Gods of Light and Chaos respectively."

"We are actors!" they argued.

"Yeah, remember when we put on that two-man show about-"

"Shut the Hades up."

"Yes, ma'am," they said, stepping back.

So that left both pink haired men.

One of them was guided forward by the other. The one with pink hair and white, obviously blind, eyes said, "My name is Eros, and I am the God of Love. May I just say… You have a beautiful voice."

"Shut up," said the other man. This man had red eyes. "I'm Cupid, also the God of Love. And no, we are not the same person…"

This was all so weird. Apparently, I was in the presence of the Greek gods from mythology! And my mom was one of them!

My looked to me and said, "This is my daughter, Magnolia."

"What's a human doing here?" Cupid asked.

"That's where you're wrong, Cupid," Father Time said, standing up. "Hyacinth here is part-god. Her mother is one of us, but her father is a horribly cruel human."

"Um… It's Magnol-" I tried to say.

Everyone looked to my mom who smiled awkwardly. "What can I say?" she said. "We were truly in love."

Light hit Chaos in the side, smiling hugely. Chaos looked very mad as he flicked a coin to his friend who took it gratefully.

I scowled at the mere thought of my father. But what piqued my interest was the part-god part.

"I'm part-god?" I asked.

My mom nodded. "I never got the chance to tell you, I'm sorry… With all that happened when you were younger and all…"

"So that means… is this Mount Olympus?" I asked.

Everyone burst out laughing.

"Of course not," Lachesis said rather rudely. "This is just a building. Mount Olympus is just a myth."

Well, excuse me… I thought.

"We don't have a location. You can only come here by my personal invitation," Father Time said, getting up. "So I guess you could say you're Here in the proper noun sorta way. Well, anyway. Go away. We need to talk alone. Get out."

Even though she was very rude while saying this, everyone just shrugged and walked out like it was no big deal.

She sighed and said, "So that's our lazy-ass staff. We have visitors here from time to time to keep things interesting."

"It can get very boring up here, so we love to have visitors from all over the universe!" my mom added.

"That's nice," I said.

Mom smiled and said, "Our staff… Well… Most of them are really nice. You only have to avoid… Let's see… Don't make Lachesis mad or she'll give your fate a hard time… Um… Atropos, please don't get her angry or she'll throw scissors at you. And… uh…Eros can be a bit clingy… Melpomene is just awful to be around if you want to stay in high spirits… Oh wait! The Sandman isn't here!"

"Oh, yeah…" Father Time said, sitting down again. "He's always busy. Never comes around. Don't worry about him."

I nodded, trying to take all this in.

"Ok, so to get you updated is why we're actually here right now," Father Time continued.

The little holographic screen floated in front of me again, but Luffy's images changed. It was like I was watching him in real time. He was in a very dark place running from people who had prison uniforms on.

"Luffy-nii…?" I asked. "What's he doing in a prison?"

"Impel Down," my mom corrected.

I gasped, "Impel Down?! Did Luffy-nii get caught or something?!"

Mom smiled and said, "Oh no, nothing like that."

"He broke in," Father Time said. "To get his brother out."

"Ace-san?" I asked. "Ace-san was caught?!"

"Yes, and he's going to die," Father Time said bluntly.

"I… I saw that happening a while ago. Is there anything I can do to help them?" I asked. "Maybe I could go help Luffy-nii there-"

"Impel Down?" Father Time asked. She laughed and said, "You could never survive in a place like that."

"Well, if it means I can help save Luffy-nii's brother!"

"Maggie, please, let us finish," my mom said.

"There's a war coming," Father Time said. "Not even I can stop it. The War of the Best, I think it's going to be called. Your captain's going to be there to try to save his brother."

"A war?" I asked. "But then, that means that Luffy-nii doesn't save Ace-san in Impel Down…"

"That's right," Mom said.

"The War of the Best is going to be the beginning of a new era," Father Time said. "Great pirates and marines alike will fall on the same battlefield, all over a simple man who wished he hadn't been born. That, Hyacinth, is the War of the Best."

"It's Magnolia…" I said.

"And you're going to join your captain in it," she said.

I blinked a couple times. "But you just said I'd never survive in that prison…" I said.

No one said anything for a long time.

"I'm going to die in a war?" I asked. "I can't be… in a war… I'm not strong enough to- I mean… What?"

"You did say you wanted to help Straw Hat, right?" Father Time asked.

"It's your destiny to save Ace, Magnolia," my mom said seriously. "No matter what the cost, no matter how. You will save Portgas D. Ace."

"But I thought you said he was going to die…" I said.

"He was," Father Time said. "But I'm going to throw you in the mix, quite literally." She got up and told us to follow her. We walked over to the white platform. "As Father Time, I have complete control over Time itself. If you think your silly little Devil Fruit is powerful, honey, have I got a show for you." She smirked mischievously.

I never did think I was that powerful in the first place… I thought.

Father Time spread her arms dramatically and said, "Ora, fos, icho! Ypoklinontai brosta mou!"

All of a sudden a bright light appeared before us. Countless frames of light circled Father Time. It looked like a ring made of little squares of light was surrounding her. In the front, there was a singular square that was out of the ring and it looked like a holographic screen like the one that showed me Luffy. There was a little bar underneath the square. As the square's light faded, an image appeared of Luffy. He was still running around Impel Down.

I looked at her in awe. Mom put a hand on my shoulder and said, "The Boss is amazing, isn't she?"

I nodded.

"I can see whatever I want in these little screens," she said. "And this bar lets me scroll through the time. So if I want, I can see what happened a hundred years ago or a hundred years into the future."

"That's awesome!" I said.

"But that's not all," she said. "I can move events around and even take people out if I want to."

I was spellbound. I wondered if Mom had any cool powers like that.

"But wait! There's more…" she said. "But there are too many things so I'm not going to tell you all of them. That's just a little snippet of what I can do, but you get the general gist. Father Time… All powerful… yada yada yada."

She swiped a couple light squares over and there was a real time video of us in the room. She brought it up a little higher than the rest and fast-forwarded a couple squares. I saw Luffy on a ship.

"Have fun!" Mom said.

"Wait, what?" I asked.

Father Time was pulling me out of the screen and putting me into the one with Luffy on the ship.

I could feel myself being taken somewhere else. I looked at my hands and saw they were disintegrating into little grains of sand.

I screamed as I was transported to another place.

The next thing I knew, I was falling from the sky and onto a boat.
