Forewords
Um, nothing to say in this foreword...
So let's get going with Versus Orin...
Chapter 50: Hell's Traffic Accident
Time: 1650 Hour; 24th of July, 2125.
Location: Coolant Unit, Nuclear Furnace of Old Hell.
"I cannot believe that a Nuclear Reactor would not have any security."
Harrison noted the complete lack of personnel in the Nuclear Power Plant.
"Wouldn't it be better if there's nothing standing in our wa..." Shanghai L commented, but got cut off by David putting a hand over her mouth.
"Shut up, dolly. How many times had events gone opposite of what you said?"
"Not her fault this time, David..." LT responded. "Because it looked like the workers left for a very good reason, and a long time ago too..."
LT pointed at a corridor running near their current location. The walls of that corridor is full of various graffiti and papers. Some of the graffiti says "The dead walks!" "Repent the end is near" "do not startle the witch" "STAY away from the Boom" "POOT dispenser here!"
Everyone else picked up the papers that got blown into their current location by the electric fans left running in that corridor. Some of the papers were typewriter prints that says "yakumo" "fission maileo" "thats vampires you idiot", others were digital prints that wrote gibberish such as "asdfghjkl" "I hear it's amazing when the famous purple stuffed worm in flap-jaw space with the tuning fork does a raw blink on Hara-Kiri Rock! I NEED SCISSORS! SIXTY-ONE!"
"I'm surprised that someone even had the time to type in this absurd nonsense..." Edge lampshaded while looking at the gibberish digital prints. "That, or they must have a computer that went berserk as the workers were escaping..."
That being said, a Zombie Fairy suddenly appeared from down the corridor, and charged toward LT and co in flight.
"Holy...!" Harrison fired his shotgun at the Zombie Fairy and downed it. "Where did that come from?!" He exclaimed as he ejects a spent shell from the gun.
Footsteps echoed all over the compound. It wasn't from LT and co.
"This is getting creepy..." Alice Lou said.
LT checked the readings on his Scouter's Goggles. "I smell a... Communist!"
"Who are you calling a Communist?!" responded a girl's voice.
Everyone looked around them. Nothing new has appeared in the power plant, yet...
"Yup. She does sound like a Communist..." Harrison said while loading another shell into his shotgun.
"You used that word again..." the voice responded.
"Don't be a scraedy-cat and show yourself!" LT called out to the voice.
"What a coincidence for you..." The voice replied. "I am a cat. A Kasha, to be exact."
Upon finishing that sentence, a humanoid figure jumped down from the ceiling, landing on her feet. She wears a black dress with green frills, and has red hair with twin braids. She also has cat ears and cat eyes.
"So this cat-girl will be our next boss..." LT said as he and Harrison pointed their shotguns at her.
"Let me properly introduce myself first..." the cat-girl said. "My name is..."
"Rin Kaenbyou, AKA Orin. Title: Hell's Traffic Accident" LT cut her off.
"How did you know?!" the cat-girl, Rin, was surprised.
LT proceeds to pull out a piece of folded paper from his shirt pocket. "Say right here in this news article, which I found at Satori's Office."
The newspaper reads: "Hell's Traffic Accident cause trouble again! Satori's pet Kasha and Hell Raven accidentally sets of an explosion in Old Hell!" The headline photo shows Rin's face on it, along another girl with black hair and green ribbon.
"That's from New Year day, right?" LT said as he tosses the paper aside. "Some lousy way to make fireworks."
"That's... That's because Okuu's being an idiot..." Rin explained furiously. "Never mind that, aren't we going to fight?!"
"Yeah, let's get back to that..." LT said as he aims his shotgun again. The Raiders and the last Guard also prepared to fight.
"So, what tricks do you have?" David questioned.
Rin pulls out a Spell Card, preparing to cast it. "You might have heard of necromancy, haven't you?"
Everybody seems confused, only LT pulled a long face. "Damn."
"What?" Alice Lou questioned.
"Necromancy, we've faced such magic when we fought the Ancients 5 years ago. So powerful that even humanity's mortal enemy, the STICK Army, is helpless against it." LT explained. "We faced the same magic again 2 years ago, in the Bevelle Library of Artifacts. That's where Shanghai L became sentient, remember? We discussed this when we first arrived in Gensokyo."
"Now I remember..." David spoke. "Like Jack said, 'Damn'"
Rin casts her Spell Card, "Curse Sprite: Zombie Fairies", and dozens of Zombie Fairies flashed into existence and surrounds LT and co.
"Aside from Albert Wesker, you don't see anyone else with the ability to control Zombies..." LT said as he guns down a Zombie Fairy with his shotgun.
The other Zombie Fairies reacts and charged toward LT and co while growling like wild animals, avoiding contact with Rin entirely.
...
Location: [DATA EXPUNGED]
"Stupid Orin...
Rushing never works that way.
They'll just gun down the Zombie Fairies before you can summon more.
Although it's impossible for them to not sustain any damage, they will definitely survive this attack...
I guess you'll have to stick with Hell's Traffic Accident for awhile longer..."
...
Location: Coolant Unit, Nuclear Furnace of Old Hell.
BOOM!
LT fired his shotgun at a Zombie Fairy's head point-blank, blowing it apart. He then puts away the shotgun and starts beheading Zombie Fairies with the Zantankuto.
A Zombie Fairy had somehow evaded his slashing and bit hard on the wrist of his right hand. The bite was so hard that blood is flowing out of the wounds at a fast pace. The Zombie Fairy was then gunned down by Harrison.
"That should be the last of them..." Harrison said as he eject the last spent shell in the shotgun. "You okay, boss?"
"Almost..." LT said while holding the wound tightly with his other hand. "What about everybody else?"
The Raiders each suffered minor injuries over their arms and shoulders. The last Guard is unscathed.
"Do not tell me to slash at another hostile again..." Edge said furiously while breathing heavily.
Rin comes up and slash Edge in the face with her claws.
Edge ran his hand through the claw marks on his face. He puts down his hand and raised his weapon. "I did say that I'm not going to slash another hostile..."
"So what?" Rin taunted, putting her hands in front and making a feline motion.
"But I didn't say anything about responding to animal instincts!" Edge answered angrily. LT made the motion to tell the others to back away, and so they did.
"Lightning Quake!" Edge smashed the tip of his huge sword against the ground, and multiple lightning spread out from it's tip, travelling toward every corner in the corridor, and electrocuting Rin in the process. When the attack was over, the lighting in the power plant are almost completely wiped out, and Rin laid on the floor, unconscious but still breathing.
The puddle of blood from the killed Zombie Fairies covered the entire corridor, adding to it's current artificially created ambience and creepiness.
"That's some serious anger management..." Alice Lou hung a lamp.
LT slowly sheathed the Zantankuto, and pulled out his shotgun. "Let's... proceed with the objectives so we can go home sooner. Okay?"
LT walks off by himself, deeper into the power plant.
"He's right, Edge. No use wasting our time..." David said as he pats Edge on the shoulder.
And everyone followed LT deeper into the power plant.
"Hey!" Shanghai L called out, emerging from behind a coolant pipe. "Aren't you forgetting someone?" She quickly flew to Alice Lou's side.
Afterwords
Well that settles it. I was kinda having trouble describing how the Versus Orin fight will go, and, like the Versus Yuyuko and Mima fight, end up botching the fight sequence so I can keep up with the updates.
For Edge's Lightning Quake attack, remember when I said that the Raiders are superhumans? Go kill yourself if you forgot that...
It also sucks to me that I haven't read today's "Hang In There, Kogasa-san" strip, last I read was that Kogasa-Author somehow got a fractured bone in his feet (I'm not remembering it clearly either...) (and yes, I did just refer to Kogasa-Author as "his", I know Kogasa represents a man in his thirties)
Shout-out index:
"the dead walks!" - I remember it as the newspaper headline seen in the ending of the first Resident Evil film.
"repent the end is near" - Another vague reference, this time to the film "2012". Specifically referring to a blink-and-you'll-miss-it sign held by a random beggar.
"do not startle the witch" "STAY away from the Boom" - This is the general rule of Left 4 Dead, you should know about it.
"POOT dispenser here" - Somehow the Heavy Weapons Guy was in Old Hell, and he had time to paint a graffiti, and demand Engie to build a Dispenser at the same time...
"fission maileo" - Despite what you might be familiar with, no, this isn't from Metal Gear Solid 2, it's from the parody of this scene showed in Touhou Nekokayou.
"that's vampires you idiot" - the exact same graffiti from Left 4 Dead...
"I hear it's amazing when the famous purple stuffed worm in flap-jaw space with the tuning fork does a raw blink on Hara-Kiri Rock! I NEED SCISSORS! SIXTY-ONE!" - Who could forget this infamous line from AI!Colonel in Metal Gear Solid 2? I played the game (man, was Solidus a difficult boss in Normal mode), so I knew it pretty well.
"Aside from Albert Wesker, you don't see anyone else with the ability to control Zombies." - Resident Evil. That's all.
That is all. "Until then..."
Punchline: this is the largest afterwords that isn't from an end-of-arc chapter, right?
EDIT: forgot one shout-out.
