Summary
A cursed Mae is currently being kept by Lucifer as the rest of her family desperately tries to come up with a plan to find her.
"This obviously isn't going to work, he's blocking them." Lilly growls after her fifth scrying ritual. "This is stupid…We need to try something else." She frowns as she looks up at the others.
"Well if you have any other suggestions I'm all ears." Sam says bitterly from behind his computer.
"Yeah, we've been at this for hours gidjit." Bobby glares at the girl.
"I do, but I don't think you're gunna like it." Lilly responds rubbing at her temples.
"Your 'not gonna like it' statements are usually terrifying on some level." Castiel states, though he had to admit any idea was better than no idea at this point.
"Well I'm up for anything, I want Mae back dammit." Sam snaps before looking at her expectantly.
"Crowley." Lilly answers.
Dean crosses his arms in front of his chest. "What about him?"
"No, no Dean. That's my idea." Lilly sighs as she prepares herself for an argument.
Dean lets out a sigh. "We could just trap a demon and try to get them to talk."
"That could take forever Dean, remember the Lillith fiasco." Sam sighs, already on board Lilly's plan. "Not every demon knows everything."
"Crowley has the clout, and doesn't hate me, and obviously doesn't like satan. Worse case scenario he doesn't know." Lilly points out.
"Do you have his summoning memorized?" Bobby asks, knowing this would be the third time she was about to do this, if it passed through Dean.
"What's not gonna get me in trouble.?" Lilly asks with a raised brow.
"Lying." Thoth points out.
"Right. So, yes. I do." Lilly responds with a sigh.
"What do you need?" Sam asks eagerly, just needing to move and feel productive.
"Hey. We did not agree on this." Dean growls.
"I have to do something. I'm going to go crazy looking for signs of the devil. You guys talk about it, I'll go get everything." Sam explains as he runs his hands through his hair for the hundredth time.
Lilly quickly writes down the list of ingredients and hands it to him. "There you go Sammy. Have at. I know we have all the ingredients in the house. If you want them quicker, there's several baggies labeled C.S. In the bottom drawer of my altar."
Dean facepalms and then lets his head drop onto the table. "Really? Near your altar? Really?"
"Why are you offended?" Lilly asks with a quirked brow.
"Yeah Dean, I feel like I'm the only one with the right to be offended." Thoth points out with a glare at Lilly.
"So… Are we agreeing that summoning him is the best bet then?" Bobby grunts not liking this at all.
"On that note, I'm heading upstairs to collect the stuff." Sam runs up the stairs. He didn't want to talk about what they were going to do anymore. This was killing him. He'd just promised Mae not a month ago that he was going to do everything he could to keep her safe, and here they were.
"How is that helpful, you could have just left." Lilly glares at Sam.
"Near the altar Lilly? Where you put our offerings. Those herbs are vile." Thoth continues to harp.
"I needed a hiding spot, it's never touched the actual altar, I just… I spaced one day, and made a lot of it without thinking. I wasn't going to throw it out, that seemed wasteful." Lilly defends herself staunchly.
Thoth gives her a glare before he goes back to his reading, hoping to figure out another way to locate Mae. He felt like he was missing something simple.
"Well unless Cass can pin-point his brother, this is our quickest bet." Lilly continues to defend her actions.
"I can't pin-point him, but I can call out to him. He might answer me. I would do it for Mae." Castiel instantly offers.
"NO! Why would you do that? Ya wanna be Crush? No Cass, ain't happenin'." Lilly snaps at the angel before she looks at Dean and Bobby. "And hey, I don't see you two coming up with better ideas. The end is nigh, an' I don't want that piece of shit to stockholms my cursed five year old sister. So ya'll can get on board an' help me, or just get outta of the way."
"You're willing to talk to a demon." Castiel tilts his head to the side. "But you do not wish for me to talk to my older brother?"
"Correct, glad we're back on the same page." Lilly smiles at him. "If he threatened Mae, we'd lose you like" she snaps her fingers, "that."
"I have less to worry about than you do." Castiel points out.
"That's not true an' ya know it Angel." Lilly glares at him.
"No no, wait." Castiel stands from his seat. "I could tell him I wish to join him."
"Where the fuck is your brain at. Fuck no you ain't doin' that." Lilly crosses her arms her eyes flashing with frustration.
"The more I think about it the more I think it could work." Castiel nods. "I could go get Mae alone. By pretending to be on his side."
"Castiel! What the fuck is wrong with you? Stop being suicidal!" Lilly spits at the angel.
"Is this how it feels to be you? Do you always feel like your ideas could be the best and worst plan at the same time?" Castiel asks in seeming complete seriousness.
Lilly's jaw drops in shock, completely in awe of what the angel had just pulled. Her hand come up to cover her mouth, completely speechless.
Dean, Bobby and Thoth all crack up a bit at Lilly's face, and Castiel's new found sense of humour.
"I have attempted a joke like you told me to do once Lilly." Castiel says with a small smile, "Did it help lighten the mood?"
"Touche." Lilly mumbled patting him on the back. "Okay, noted. Clever. Very clever… But back on the summoning Crowley thing, I still think it's the best shot in the dark thing we have. So unless someone has a plan not involving Satan, that's what I think we should do. And since there are to be no secret plans, I suggest helping me with this cause I want Mae back now." She snaps.
"Though I attempted humour with my plan, I actually am offering that up as a suggestion as well."
"No Cass." Dean barks. "Lilly's not wrong, we don't need to be speedin' up the future." He grumbles as he runs his hand down his face.
Sam comes rushing back down the stairs and into the room with a frown on his face. "You have like, thirty of those bags… should I be concerned. Do you-"
"You finish that, I murder you." Lilly snaps grabbing the baggy from his hand. "Then little Lizzy will cry and nobody wants that." She snarls.
"Anyone else miss her as an adorable little kid?" Thoth asks with a shake of his head.
Sam raises his hand. "Oh come on? Really? Just me and Thoth?"
"I know where you sleep Samsquatch." Lilly growls, as she digs out her mortar and dumps the contents in a bowl.
"I haven't agreed to this Lilly!" Dean says, jumping up.
"I want my sister." Lilly bites out. "I feel like if this was that jackass-" She points to Sam. "We wouldn't even be talking about this, and don't think I won't summon Crowley to my damn kitchen." Lilly snaps as she pulls matches and and a blade from a drawer.
"I'm with Lilly on this one." Sam adds with a shrug.
"Of course you two are." Dean grumbles. It was the road to the future and they were all skipping down it.
"Don't even. I'm laying my intentions out clear as day Tex." Lilly snaps at him.
"If we can summon Crowley for the damned colt, we can summon him for Mae." Sam growls.
Lilly turns and glare at Sam. "You, lower the desperation, and tell me I'm an idiot." She demands.
Sam rolls his eyes. "It's a stupid plan Lilly, and like most things you do I find it reckless and poorly planned out." He'd say anything at this point; and while completely true, he just wanted Mae back. She was literally with the most evil being in all of existence.
"There ya go Cowboy, happy?" Lilly asks with a raised brow. "I wasn't kidding, I will fuck up my kitchen for this. I don't want Mae to end up with fuckin' satan and since no ones coughed up a better plan, and since Mae's twices as fuckin' emotional and triply easy to manipulate as a fuckin' child, I suggest we light a fire under our fuckin' asses. Amun-fucking-Ra she'd be friends with fuckin' Hitler as an adult for Thoth's fuckin' sake, how much time da ya really want Lucy to have diggin' his 'Woe is fuckin' me sob story ass' claws into her as fuckin' Lizzy?" She snarls venomously as her eyes flash gold. "So ya'll think about it hard and fuckin' fast."
All the men stare at her, none of them finding any way to argue her logic. None of them wanted Mae in Lucifer's grasp as an adult, let alone as a child. Lilly made a hard and sharp point. If they wanted her back, they had to think fast. Even if nothing panned out with Crowley, they had at least tried that avenue.
Bobby lets out a sigh. "I can do the summoning, no need to wipe Lilly out with another ritual, in fact-"
"Don't. Even." Lilly snaps at him.
Dean looks at Lilly with a raised eyebrow. "It's probably a good idea to keep you and Sam away from this. Crowley has a weird obsession with you."
Lilly turns to glare at Dean. "I'm going. This is fuckin' Mae, Dean. Don't even push it."
"She's my girl friend Dean, I'm going." Sam snaps.
"Do you think Bobby and I can't handle this?" Dean questions the two of them.
"I fuckin' dare you to keep me from going." Lilly seethes angrily.
"I'm going Dean, I don't even know why it's a question." Sam growls as he crosses his arms over his chest.
Dean looks to Castiel for help. "No Dean. Do not ask me to make Lilly hate me. And Sam makes a good point. You went to rescue Lilly, he should not be kept from Mae."
Thoth shakes his head as Dean turns to him. "Lilly is capable of performing the summonings, or at least observing. If you fear for her selling her soul, I can promise, if it comes down to that, I will take her to Maat. That is the best I can offer you Dean."
"Oh my Gods, FINE!" Dean growls. "We should set up shop in Bobby's garage. Let's go before she does it in the damned house."
"Right. Cass pop us over." Lilly snaps after she picks up her supplies.
"On it." Castiel grabs Lilly and Dean by their arm and vanishes instantly.
"What do you think the chances of this working are Thoth?" Bobby asks as the god walks up to him.
Thoth frowns thoughtfully as he takes Bobby and Sam by the shoulder, "I wish I had more time to calculate the odds, but it certainly has a higher chance of working than trying to scy again." He lightly squeezes their shoulders before they vanish from Lilly's kitchen.
