As Harvey escorts Tess to the car, her limp is impossible to ignore as Harvey offers an arm to help her walk. Tess settles in the back of the car instantly kicking off her shoes. To Harvey's delight Tess snuggles into his shoulder.

"So where shall we go?" Harvey's eyes sparkle with the thought of continuing this evening. Tess is not quite ready for this evening to end. She is really enjoying Harvey's company. Tess is still not entirely used to the feeling that everyone seems to know a secret that she is not in on. She could not avoid noticing the looks, a side eye followed by hushed conversation. She glances up towards Harvey. He responds by kissing her forehead as he puts his arm around her. At this moment, the look on his face is worth the hushed conversations.

"Do you want to go out or back to your place?" Harvey instinctively reaches down touching her leg. He knows that a night of dancing and high heels have taken their toll. Tess weighs the offer and is a bit torn. It has been all less than a week, yet it feels like Harvey has been around for so much longer. It is really hard to hate the fact that he doted on her all night. Every instinct wants to spend more time with Harvey. Tess offers to wind down the evening at her place perhaps accompanied with a ritual burning of those damn heels.

Tess give Harvey a smile as she tells him to send Ray home, it is already well into the night and there is no sense in dragging the poor man out again. This night is really beginning to remind Harvey of the first night he was with Tess.

As they enter, Tess has Harvey unzip her dress which brings back memories of earlier this evening. Harvey gives her a quick kiss on the neck as Tess heads to her room to change. She returns with flannel bottoms and an FDNY t-shirt for Harvey. Tess laughs that perhaps Nate practically living in her apartment comes in handy.

Harvey gives Tess a puzzled look to which Tess answers. "Nate's." Harvey smiles and heads to Tess' bedroom to change out of the tux. He is happy that his first impression is not hanging out in his boxer briefs.

"There is a hanger on the door." Tess casts a wave towards her bedroom.

Tess is quite happy to be in comfy clothes. As Harvey changes, Tess decides to create some atmosphere by lighting some candles and putting on some music.

Harvey takes in the surroundings, the memories flood back of the last time he was in this room as he hangs up the tux and walks back out to be with Tess. At the beginning of the evening, he could not even conceive of the night ending this way. He returns to find the living room bathed in a warm glow with soft music playing in the background. Tess hands him a drink as she takes a seat on the couch.

"I know this is not the most romantic ritual but…." Tess pops an ice bag on her thigh and knee as she snuggles into Harvey. Harvey laughs as he wraps his arms around Tess. He is a little surprised as to how nice this feels most of his other dates would be naked by now. He smiles at the self-depreciating humor running through his head. This ending feels so natural and so very normal.

Harvey runs his fingertips down Tess' leg. Tess can feel the warmth in his touch as she shifts to turn towards him. She reaches up and caresses his face as they begin to kiss. Harvey wraps around her as the moment begins to accelerate between them.

They move to the bedroom as the intimacy increases. Harvey pulls off the T-shirt before pulling Tess against him. Harvey loves the feel of Tess. As the clothes are shed, Tess suddenly panics. It comes with sudden and complete clarity that her body has had undergone drastic changes courtesy of that fire. Her torso and leg look like plastic surgery done by Dr. Frankenstien. She is not even totally comfortable looking at the scars herself. She is really uncertain what someone else will see.

Harvey stops and taking Tess into his arms. "Tess? What is it?" Harvey can see the look of panic on Tess' face.

Tess hesitates before speaking. "Harvey… "Harvey holds her close as she begins to realize what might be suddenly wrong. "Tess… it doesn't matter." He runs his hand down her side.

"Harvey… I look different… you haven't seen the scars. It's all Frankenstien." Tess knows she and Harvey have been intimate that memory has been quite clear… and thoroughly enjoyed. Tess pushes away from Harvey. She had not thought about this. She had not thought about if it would matter to her and it suddenly does a great deal.

Harvey holds her close. He knows the next words out of his mouth a great deal and he has to choose them with care. "Tess, I know they are there… and it doesn't change anything. I think you are beautiful…" Harvey pulls her into a kiss. "All of you."

Harvey saw the TV footage of the rebar sticking up in the air as they carried her off… he saw her in the hospital and he realizes it doesn't matter to him. It wasn't even a conscious thought in his head to even consider which is very new for him. With other women, it was the physical attraction that truly mattered. He based so many relationships on the superficial. From the start Tess has blown that away. He recalls seeing beauty even when she was in her work clothes with her features covered in a smoky haze. She is so far out of the mold of his world. The women he found attractive were dressed to the nines at all times. His world was centered on the polished beauty of designer clothes and figures accentuated by high heels. Tess is as opposite his world has he could possibly go yet she still fits.

He checks and rechecks his own thoughts astounded by the clarity that he feels. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter at all.

"Come here." Harvey leads Tess towards her bed as he pulls down the covers. He pulls Tess close wrapping his body around her. Her panic begins to ease a bit. She had not even considered the possibility of being intimate with someone this soon.

"I just want to be with you, Tess. I want to make love to you, believe me I do but it doesn't matter. This is enough." Harvey leans in kissing Tess. Harvey touch begins to melt away her doubts but Tess is not quite ready. Harvey knows to expect the unexpected with Tess right now and he meant what he said, right now this is about her. He is happy to take it as slow as Tess needs to go.

Harvey's kisses are different than the memories running in her head. They are warm and linger as he holds her tight. She loves the feel of his skin in contrast to the feel of her covers. She loses herself in his kisses until they both drift off to slumber.

As the morning light begins to shine into the room, Harvey wakes with Tess' body wrap around him. During the night, she must have been warm since her legs are now bare. He can see the deep red marks on her thigh from the injury and the surgery. The injury must have been devastating. He watches Tess sleep. Her peaceful expression is so very different from the moments he spent with her when she was in the hospital.

Her features are softer in sleep; her hair is tossed about the pillow in a random cascade. He glances at the clock, it is still quite early. He wraps around her and drifts off for a few more hours of sleep.
