Hello! I'm back!

I'm sorry with the delays again. I had this chapter and a lot more written, but then the app I use on my tablet decided to delete everything… So I had to restart like three times. In the end I decided to cut the chapter in half… AGAIN.

I also have officially changed the name to Broken Mirrors for that is its new name!

Also I have songs littered through the story. There are either songs that just go very well with that particular part, something I listened while writing it OR actually part of the story!

Well enjoy this chapter. It's pretty different from my usual.

Agni ducked under an axe and pressing his body against the wall. Pushing himself off to dodge yet another strike, he slashed his sword out, cutting the axe bearer down. Slowly sliding his Ranger Sword back into its sheath and taking a deep breath he took another step suddenly he whipping out his hand sending a dart from his bracer flying down the hall placing it through another's neck. The walls around him shook from the bombardment the castle was taking, he momentarily lost his footing, but his bow was out next as he notched an arrow, letting it fly down the hall, followed by three more taking down the guards that were coming down the stairs.

What was he doing? This was not how he planned things. Not how he planned his life.

Agni always had a very straight life. He always worked towards his goals, letting nothing stop him.

At first those goals were simple. It was; creating world peace, even if that meant tearing down the world and rebuilding it himself. Much like the Emperor had done in his time. Nothing more, that was it.

Then it turned into kill Abaddon and Iivdril AND THEN create world peace. Except now it was create world peace with the help of the Rangers.

Now it was all messed up. It had turned into protect the Team, keep them away from the dirtier things about his world, save their dimension, kill Abaddon, gloat at Iivdril, THEN create world peace with the help of the Rangers (Even if he had to destroy it and rebuild it himself much like the Emperor had done in his time)

Life was much simpler one hundred and fifty years ago.

But that didn't matter much. All that mattered at the moment was that he was running through a castle slaying his brethren and kin without bashing an eyelid. How did that come to be?

His head hurt just thinking about it…

Several hours earlier…

-Song: A Call to Arms - 30 Seconds to Mars-

Robin stared around in awe for several seconds. What was a simple cornfield, just half an hour before, was now a large battle camp full of medieval looking heroes

He watched as what was clearly the Rangers Aquaman walk by followed by a tall girl, black-haired boy and odd fish looking humanoid. They went over to a wooden cabin not far from a large tent that was in the middle of the settlement.

Next was who he knew to be Superdwarf, being followed by Connie, another dwarf who he did not know and a large blonde woman… all bearing the Super-family's symbol.

Riiiiiiiight… nothing strange about the large blonde woman at all…

He turned around to see Harry-freaking-Potter casually chatting who was clearly Princess Diana's counterpart and she looked furiously at the death-incarnate who very chalantly was drinking from a large glass of orange liquid. Bright orange liquid. So bright it looked like it might suspiciously be radio-active.

Sorcerer-freaking-Supreme… damn

Robin watched and the Amazonian Princess stalked off to a younger, blonder version of her and beckoned her to follow. They passed him, the older giving him and glare and spitting at his feet.

The youngest of the Bat-family arched and eyebrow, but ignored it, allowing his gaze to fall on to Lord Oliver who was standing next to a blonde woman and his protégés. Mistress Canary was her name if he remembered correctly.

The portal that wasn't far from him was still spitting people out. It seems the Guild was bringing EVERYONE they knew. A large dark red humanoid exited near him, was greeted by Master Bruce then directed to a tent.

Robin noticed Batman stalk over to Master Bruce, they seemed to be having a silent argument for several seconds before Batman stalked away again with an angry look on his face

Well… angry-er

Looking up he could see Agni standing on top of another cabin, peering through a telescope towards the castle that was probably about a kilometer away. Sorif the Hunter was next to him, pestering him about writing a book about their adventures. Agni had agreed to it just to get the annoying bard to leave him alone. He didn't realize that would lead the wood elf to pester him even more for details.

Richie suddenly appeared next to then, shadow-jumped Robin assumed, and whispered something to both of them.

They both nodded and Nightwing shadow-jumped again. Agni immediately fell into his shadow and Sorif leaped off the building.

Unfortunately his foot got caught on the edge and he went sprawling down another cabin before bouncing off a large Atom and falling onto Princess Diana

Her hand sent his soaring several feet before hitting the dirt ground again. The young hunter sat up with a grin on his face and apologized to the back of the Amazonian princess as she walked away from him.

Donna Troy, the blonde and younger version of Dianna, giggled as she helped the bard stand to his feet. Sorif smiled warmly and pulled his lute off his back and began playing to a jazzy tune

"And the young princess helped the bard

He fell from the roof, hitting the ground hard

The young bard thinks the old Diana is full of lard"

Sorif yelped and held up his lute defensively in front of his face as a tiara flew by Robin and thumped into it.

Donna giggled again as Sorif's eyes sparkled as he removed the tiara with a shout of joy.

He was almost hit by Diana's rope as she lashed it at him. With another squeal the young Sorif bounded away whooping with joy at the tiara that was in his hand.

Robin chuckled quietly to himself before glancing at the large castle that was looming over them. It was huge… Ras Al'Ghul would be so jealous if he saw it.

Even from the distance Robin could see Drow and other less than pleasant things patrolling the walls. He shivered momentarily as he thought of the large Balors at the U.N. Ball they had gone to. He never told anyone, but he had nightmares of those things for days afterwards.

Nightwing suddenly appeared next to him and tapped him on the shoulder.

"You're wanted at the headquarters. We are about to start the meeting and Batman requested your presence." He informed him

Robin nodded and focused for a moment. He suddenly felt his molecules break apart before reconstructing in the middle of the tent.

He couldn't shadow-jump as naturally as Nightwing yet, but that couldn't be helped. His counterpart had been doing it for almost a hundred years.

Around him were most of the League, as well as the Guild and Rangers. The Team was just beginning to filter in as well.

In the middle of the room was a large table that had maps and other large pieces of parchment laying on it. The Guild sat on one of the long sides with the League on the opposite, the Rangers were on one end and his Team was on the other. In the corner sat Deathstroke with Harry-godamn-Potter and Sorif (who was still holding the Tiara with a smug look on his face). With a shrug Robin went to sit on one of the chairs that he assumed his Team was supposed to be in, since everything was all organized.

He collapsed into a seat next to Zatanna who was staring off into space

"This war meeting has now started." Master Bruce said, shutting the tent door.

"First things first." Jason Todd said, standing up from next to Agni, who looked decidedly pissed "What are the humans doing here? They do not belong in our affairs."

"Shut up and sit down, Todd." Agni said

"Seconded." Nightwing said from the other side of Agni with a raised hand.

"Over-ruled." Master Bruce said glaring at them "Jason has a right to voice his concerns."

"However close-minded they may be." Barbra added, she was sitting next to Donna, behind Agni. She was resting her arms on his shoulders leaning her head against his.

Agni rolled his eyes beneath his hood and smiled thinly

"Would you like to reply to him, Batman?" Superdwarf asked

"With pleasure." Bruce Wayne said standing up. "It is quite simple, Jason, this is our world." And he sat back down

"Does that matter though?" Jason asked "Do… humans belong next to us?" he spat the word 'human' like it was poison he was trying to rid from his mouth

"I take serious offence to that…" Bloody Arrow said itching to put an arrow in the boy's eye socket

"I agree." Master Bruce said "If that is your only problem with them being here, then maybe we should revisit Agni's advice of 'Sit down and shut up'."

Jason nodded sullenly and sat down with a grumble

"What is our battle plan? Who is going to lead us? How are we going to ACTUALLY take down Abaddon?" Robin asked standing to catch everyone's attention "We cannot just run out there and hope for the best!"

Everyone from the other dimension stared at him in shock for several moments

"What does the young one take us to be?" Arthur, king of Atlantis said standing to meet the boy "Novices? This is hardly out first battle."

"Peace, King Arthur." Agni said with a wave of his hand "He meant them not us." Arthur nodded and sat down quietly

"The question does not need to be asked." Superman said standing as Arthur sat "The League will decide a proper plan of attack."

"Excuse me? I must have misheard because I think I just heard you say that the League will be doing the planning… Would you mind repeating yourself?" Jason said standing again

"Do not worry; we will include you with the assault on the castle." Superman said gently

Agni sighed and covered his ears. He knew exactly where this was going.

"Who do you think you are?!" Zoom shouted "This is our war. You should be grateful we even allowed you to take part of this meeting!"

"This is our dimension. We get to decide what happens within it." Hal Jordon retorted

"We could just kill you all and then Abaddon and his forces! You might want to tread lightly mortals." Nabu cackled as the Wizard Fate's helmet glowed a bright green

"Is that a threat?" Superman asked

"Very clearly so." Nightwing said "As much as I respect your strength and experience, this is really of no concern to your dimension. You should let us deal with it."

"I do not recall you saying that when you were living in our cave."

"Right, because we didn't leave or and were basically forced to return or anything." Bloody Arrow said sarcastically

"So what do you propose we do?" Green Arrow asked "Give strangers, outsiders, the ability to let our world burn? As far as we know you guys can just leave and leave the problem to us."

"That would be ideal." The Martian Manhunter said "Maybe there is wisdom in those words. You should all return to your dimension and leave us to deal with Abaddon."

"Stop acting like you are the victims here." The dark elf John Stewart said standing and flexing his dark brown hand that held a bright green ring "You might have had to deal with Abaddon for a few months, but we've dealt with him for YEARS and its only gotten worse since he started bringing back your cursed technology."

"There is no reason for this discussion to continue." Superman said firmly "It is our world, we will decide what happens. Period. Nothing more needs to be said."

Agni sighed and stood up. Knowing Agni, the Guild went silent. Cursed Shadow almost never spoke during meetings. Usually he was sleeping or doing other annoying activities and that was when he bothered to show up at all.

"We are waiting Agni." Master Bruce said

The Drow sighed again before speaking up. "I understand what you are all saying. I really do, but do you know what? I really do not care."

"And you are bothering to tell us this why?" Wally sneered

"Let me finish." Agni said curtly "We cannot have a group of people calling the shots. That never works." Agni held up his hand to the Justice League "I do not care what you are about to say. None of you except for Green Lantern Stewart over there has ever been in an actual war, so therefore your opinions are invalid."

"So what is your advice then, Agni?" Black Canary asked, feeling her patience begin to wear thin

"Either Batman or Master Bruce should lead. They are the only ones with any idea of what to do. Even though I favor Master Bruce because, you know, he's actually been in a war. I think both of them are our only candidates." Agni nodded to everyone and sat back down in his chair, he waved his hand casually and a small stool appeared in front of him. He leaned back and placed his feet on it comfortably.

Before anyone could say another word Batman stood up "I agree with Agni. Either me or my counterpart should lead."

"But how are we going to choose who?" Master Bruce said standing up

"We can hold a vote." Green Arrow offered

"There is a slight problem with that." Master Bruce said "My people outnumber yours and we all know no one from my dimension will vote for Batman."

"I will not vote." Harry said, raising his hand "I could not care either way. My job is simple, remove their souls."

"That is essentially killing them!" Robin protested

"…Your point being?"

"Heroes. Do. Not. Kill." Robin said through clenched teeth

"And that is why you do not belong here." Jason Todd shouted "This is a war! Abaddon is not a super villain! He is a mass murdering enemy of the empire. In war do you shoot your enemies with padded arrows? Do you throw them in jail?"

"The kid has a point." Green Lantern Stewart said "As much as I hate to admit it, he's right. This is no longer about being the good guy, about being a hero. This is a war now."

"Just let them decide between themselves already." Agni groaned "We all know that the Rangers are going to do as I please, just let the two big men in black cloaks decide who gets to try to get the other to bend to his will."

"Fine… let them." Superman agreed

The two Bruce Waynes stared at each other for several moments in silence

Batman tilted his head back a fraction of an inch

Master Bruce nodded

Batman glanced around before his eyes fell on Agni then back at Master Bruce

Master Bruce glanced at Agni then at his counterpart, cocking his head

Both of them looked at Agni who groaned into his hands

"Let Richie do it."

Silence

"Please?"

More silence

"I hate you both…" Agni said wearily as he stood up and stood in front of them.

They stood squarely in front of each other a few feet apart

Agni silently drew two circles around each of them with white chalk. He then stood next to them and placed a hand between them, he quickly withdrew it with a shout of "Hai!"

The two Dark Knights flew at each other with a flurry of movements, neither mover from their space.

Agni had to raise a hand to stop Superman from breaking them apart as their attacks got progressively for aggressive.

They were beginning to use their feet now, kicking at each other and blocking ferociously.

After several more minutes of their hands flying at each other they finally finished.

Batman had his right hand around Master Bruce's throat as Master Bruce did to him, their left hands were grappled against the other in the air in between their heads.

Both slowly let go and back away before bowing to the other.

"Well… shit." Agni said throwing up his hands in defeat "I give up. Figure out your own problems from now on!" He stalked back over to his chair and waved his hand again. A large mug of a dark pale color appeared on the stool and he picked it up and got comfortable again.

"What just happened here?" Green Arrow asked "And I think I speak for everyone when I ask 'What the hell just happened?'"

"Neither of us can lead." Batman said shortly "We must seek a new option."

"Well if neither of you can lead who else can?" Flash asked

"It has to be someone both sides trust obviously." Hal Jordan said

Everyone turned right

"Someone we know has the good of both dimensions at heart." Oracle added

Everyone looked down

"Someone we know will stop at nothing until Abaddon is no longer a threat." Robin finished

Everyone looked at someone with who was impassively lifting his cup into his empty hood

"Someone we know has capable leadership qualities."

Everyone looked at Agni who was blissfully taking a long draw at his drink, completely oblivious to his surroundings.

"Then it's settled then." Superman "The homicidal, particularly insane, elf will lead us…"

Agni suddenly choked and looked up "Wha?!"

"You are going to lead us in this last battle."

"I can't do that!"

"Nonsense, everyone thinks you'll be perfect."

"I'm a horrible strategist."

"We'll advise you if need be."

"I'm insane!"

"Aren't we all?"

"I want to murder everyone in that castle!"

"This is war… that's kind of the objective here."

"I'm homicidal!"

"We've already established that… "

"I'm unruly and rebellious!"

"We'll keep Zatanna nearby."

Agni suddenly clutched his heart "I think I'm having a heart attack!" he said before falling to the floor having a fake spasm attack

"No you aren't…"

"And that's mine!" Richie shouted "Get your own ailment for an excuse."

Agni stopped and glared at everyone "I hate all of you."

"We'll survive." Bloody Arrow said cheerfully with a smirk

Agni slowly stood back up and sat back down in his chair

"I don't –"

"We are not giving you a choice here." Batman said "Either you can lead us or we can fight over it some more."

Cursed Shadow sulked for a few moments before reluctantly nodding.

"Good, now that we are being led by an incapable, old, and useless person." Jason said "Let us figure out the real problem, how can we kill Abaddon?"

Richie gripped Agni's shoulder as he stood, reaching for his dagger. He forcefully shoved his companion back into his seat and stood up

"We can't." Nightwing said simply "The Rangers have already done so many times. He just comes back after a short while."

"We can imprison him then." Superman offered

Everyone from the other dimension turned and glared at him

"Just an idea…" Superman said meekly

"Everyone out." Agni said suddenly.

Everyone stared at him oddly

"Everyone that is not high-ranking." He clarified.

"Why?" Green Arrow asked

"Because what I am about to say is not for some to hear. Robin, Fate, Harry… stay."

Everyone shuffled slowly out of the room except for a few.

Agni turned and stared at who was before him, Master Bruce, Batman, Superman, Superdwarf, Kaldur, Nightwing, Robin, Jason Todd, Oracle, Deathstroke, Harry, King Arthur, Wizard Fate and both Green Arrows who were glaring at the others facial hair

"Get out Todd." Agni growled

Jason smirked, "I'm Captain of the Rangers, which if I'm not mistaken is a high rank."

"For the millionth time, you are NOT the captain. That would be Agni, him, the guy who is about to murder you in probably three seconds." Nightwing shouted

"Actually until Agni returns and is reinstated, Jason is the Captain, with Oracle his right hand." Master Bruce said slowly

Cursed Shadow slowly exhaled and nodded "Fine, that doesn't matter, but if he says one wrong word, I swear I will not spare his life again."

"You shouldn't have done it the first time around." Slade muttered rolling his one good eye.

"What is it you had everyone leave for?" Batman asked curtly, cutting the bickering short

Agni sighed and paced next to the table, "We cannot kill Abaddon."

"And pray tell why not!" Jason shouted

"Because we already have." Agni retorted "Twice."

"Obviously you do not know what the work 'kill' means." Jason snorted

Before Agni could lunge at him, Oracle back-handed her captain into silence

"Be silent Jason." She scolded before nodded at Agni to continue

"I burnt him into nothing." Agni continued "With my fire. Not even ashes remained of him when I was done, but he returned shortly after. So, when I say he cannot be killed, I mean he cannot at all… not even a bit."

"So what does that leave us with?" Superman asked with the beginning of a smile, "Imprisonment?"

"Do you happen to have a prison that can hold a half-demon that manages evading death like an ex-girlfriend?" Sorif quipped from behind Deathstroke

Everyone turned and stared at the bard

"Oh common!" Sorif protested "That was funny!"

"How long has he been here?" Superman asked

"I coulda swore I saw him leave with da others…" Superdwarf muttered

"He's been here the whole time." Batman said "He's good at being quiet."

"I could be a ninja if I wanted." Sorif boasted

"No you couldn't." Deathstroke said

"Focus guys." Oracle said, clapping her hands.

"We could imprison him in Arkham." Superman suggested

"A magical demon with a bunch of crazy humans… yes I'm sure that will work just bloody splendid." Harry said sarcastically

"Then what is it we do?" Robin asked

Agni glanced up at Wizard Fate

The helmet (otherwise known as shiny golden bucket) of Fate glowed Green

"You couldn't possibly be talking about THAT… or are you?" Nabu cackled

"I am talking about just that." Agni answered mildly

Nabu laughed hysterically "I knew I loved that one!"

"Would someone mind filling us in?" Green Arrow asked "I'm completely lost here."

Batman looked back and forth between Agni and Nabu "If we can't kill him, or imprison his physical body… that only leaves one thing. You want to imprison his soul."

"Is that possible?" Superman asked

Agni nodded "With dark… very dark magic."

Harry frowned "But that would mean that you would have to have something powerful enough to seal his demonic soul into to. A soul like his cannot be sealed into a simple book, if you wish to seal it permanently."

The Black-Ranger reached into his shadow and pulled out his chokutō "I offer my sword."

"Your sword…" Master Bruce said "You would use your father's sword?"

"My father did nothing for me." Agni retorted "He and everyone else who has wielded be damned. It's mine now, and I'll choose what becomes of it."

"I am not saying not to, it's just… do you think it wise?" Master Bruce asked

Agni shrugged "Wise or not is not the issue, it's how I'm going to seal him in."

"This is why you need me…" Harry realized mildly

"Black magic is illegal!" Jason exclaimed excitedly "Master Bruce! Arrest him under the charges of using illegal magic for nefarious purposes!"

"Shut up Jason." Barbra sighed

"No!" Jason said taking a step towards Agni "I just caught him red handedly dealing with black magic! It's not allowed to even talk about it!"

"You have no jurisdiction here, Todd." Agni said annoyed "Even if so, what is stopping me? I'm now Commander of this battlefield. If I say Black Magic is what we need to win, that IS what we'll use."

"He is right Red, give it up." Lord Oliver said gently

"B-but… dark…" Jason muttered slowly going back to his place

"Good, now that's over, back to the subject at hand." Agni said, drawing his blade and laying it on the table "Harry, how exactly am I supposed to seal him?"

Harry rubbed his temples in deep thought for several seconds before looking up and shaking his head "You shouldn't do it."

Agni's eye twitched and he clenched his teeth beneath his hood "What do you mean, 'I shouldn't'?"

"Sealing a living beings soul into anything is dark magic… blacker than anything you can imagine."

"Darker than, oh I don't know… summoning souls back from the afterlife? Creating armies of skeletons? Balors from the underworld?!"

"The sacrifices that must be made to seal someone's soul are high." Harry said in hopes to dissuade him

"Higher than the lives of my dimension?" Agni countered

Harry sighed and waved his hand, conjuring a large parchment and quill on the table.

"So seal someone's soul into an inanimate object is difficult." Harry said drawing a large pentagram on the parchment.

"How different from what Voldemort did?" Robin asked

Harry stared at Robin "How do you know what he did?"

"I am just that awesome." The Boy Wonder shrugged in return

"Doesn't matter…" Harry muttered , drawing symbol in the middle of the pentagram. "To seal someone's complete soul into something else without the owner's permission requires several things."

"We'll manage I'm sure." Nightwing said

"You need to draw this around the person you are going to seal." Harry said holding up the parchment "A sacrifice will be needed-"

"What do you mean sacrifice?"Batman asked

"A human soul or something of equal value must be given to seal Abaddon's soul."

Everyone was silent for a moment

"Would a soul gem be enough?" Agni asked quietly

Harry looked at the Drow sternly "Yes it would."

Agni slowly reached into his bag of holding and withdrew a black swirling gem the size of coffee mug

"That is incredibly illegal." Harry said slowly "So illegal that I'm tempted to let the Red Hood arrest you for owning something that's been banned for centuries."

Jason looked up at Death Incarnate with hoe in his eyes

"Is now really the time to get into where I got this?" Agni asked dismissively "What's important here is that we manage to get rid of Abaddon."

Harry sighed and nodded "So here's the plan…"

"I want a shielding dish over the armory." Agni ordered "And see if we can get one for the catapults as well."

"What's a shielding dish?" Zatanna asked as she strolled with Agni through the camp. He was shouting out orders at everyone trying to get some sort of defenses up incase Abaddon attacked

"It creates a magical shield around a certain area. They are pretty hard to make and somewhat unorthodox, but it gets the job done."

"So what's the battle plan?" Zatanna inquired

"Ask me no questions and I'll tell you no lies."

"Should I bother asking again?"

"I would prefer you not to."

"Please?"

Agni sighed and absent-mindedly scratched his chin "The main plan? Kill everyone in that castle quickly. My plan? Seal Abaddon's soul into my sword."

"How badly outnumbered are we?"

"Easily a hundred to one." Agni said obviously annoyed at the fact "Not much I can do about that."

Agni's ring suddenly flared and he opened his mind link to it. After a moment of silence he looked at Zatanna and sighed

"I have to go. I was just informed that a messenger arrived with a message from Abaddon."

"What is it?"

"He wants to meet." Agni muttered "This is either a really BAD trap of a really GOOD one..."

"What do you think?"

Agni made a sour expression. "Absolutely no idea."

An hour later Agni standing on top of the wall with Master Bruce, Deathstroke, John Stewart, Lord Oliver, Wizard Fate and Arsenal. He was told not to bring anyone, but he wasn't that stupid. Todd had wanted to go as well, but Agni was having none of that. He recalled telling the boy something about going and tripping over his own sword… something like that.

A large could be seen in the middle of the field, exactly in between the castle and camp.

As the five walked through the cornfield, Arsenal broke the silence.

"Why did you bring me? Wouldn't Nightwing or Robin be better?"

Agni shrugged "I wanted someone with a lot of fire power. You fit the bill."

"But you barely know me."

"For some odd reason… I trust you. Almost like I've known you for a long time."

Off to the side Nabu laughed and a resounding chuckled echoed from the helmet belonging to Zatara

"What's so funny?" Slade asked narrowing his eye at the Wizard

"Nothin…" Nabu shouted cheerfully

"Would be a big bother if I sliced him in half?" Slade muttered

"Yes it would…" Master Bruce said

"What would?"

"You chopping me in half?" Nabu offered

"Oh… I said that out loud?"

"Very much so." Agni informed his old mentor "Now everyone knows we're walking into a trap right?"

A chorus of yeses answered him and a 'duh' from Lord Oliver

"You guys know that we can't kill Abaddon yet right?"

"Why not?" Arsenal asked

Agni looked at the boy for a moment before replying

"We're not killing him… we're going to seal his soul into my sword."

"Cursed Shadow!" Master Bruce barked "He doesn't need to know that!"

"I said I trust him!"

"That means nothing!"

"I'm the commanding General! I'll tell as I see fit!"

A harrumph came from the Dark Knight as they had reached the tent.

"I'll go in first." Deathstroke said, rest his hands on the hilt of his crossbow and sword "I'll give a shout if it's all safe."

"I'll go with you." John offered "You never know what might be waiting for us in there."

The masked man nodded and the two warriors walked towards the tent

Slade Wilson cautiously opened the flap to the tent and John walked in, his ring arm poised to send of several blasts if need be. After a moment Deathstroke turned around and winked at Agni before going in himself. A minute later his head popped back out.

"It's all good." He said "You can come in."

Agni slowly strode in. Within the large tent was a table with seven chairs on one side and three on the other.

Sitting in the other three was Abaddon, Iivdril and Deathstroke.

Agni betrayed no emotion to seeing Iivdril sitting there when she should have been locked up under the guard of Orange.

He could feel his mentor tense being next to his counterpart. It obviously angered him that his counterpart was just downright stupid.

"Welcome Agni." Abaddon said with mock grace. "I brought seven chairs because I assumed you would bring the lucky number."

"Seven is a lucky number?" Arsenal asked

Agni nodded "Seven is the amount of companions that should be in a raiding group. Something about a blessing by the gods."

Agni slowly walked to the seat in the middle of the table, he turned it around and sat down, resting his arms on the back of it and leaning his chin on his hands.

Slowly everyone else sat down except for Slade who stayed standing behind Agni.

"So, anyone hungry?" Abaddon asked breaking the silence "I brought tacos in case anyone had an appetite."

"Why did you call me here, Don?" Agni demanded

"So we are officially back to our nicknames? I can do that." Abaddon cleared his throat. "I called you here Belir, to inform you of something."

Agni cocked his head and gave a small smile "Let me guess, you are giving us one last chance to join you?

Abaddon shook his head and waved his hand in dismissal "Oh no, I gave up on that long ago. Right after you managed to seal the ACTUAL Belirhac'yrd away. Really I couldn't care less if you live or survive anymore. With the technology of this dimension I'll be able to retrieve your power from your body even if it's dead. So it matter little whether you die or not. So no, please, by all means continue trying to fight me and my endless resources. It's only Iivdril here who still thinks you're worth anything alive.

Agni glanced at Iivdril who was sitting quietly with a calm expression on her face. Her two short swords were visibly hanging off her chair. A subtle insult .

" I came here today to tell you something of great importance. Deathstroke, the orb if you please."

Earth's greatest mercenary reached underneath the table, causing everyone to tense slightly. His counterpart most of all watched him like an eagle

Well… a one-eyed eagle.

Deathstroke placed the orb on the table and sat back down. He muttered something underneath his break and the light suddenly dimmed.

A large magical hologram appeared above it, casting a shadow across the room.

It showed several large mission seemingly digging straight into the ground, a large beam of light was shooting out of it, pounding into the ground. Everytime it hit a loud reverberating thud could be heard.

"This is a mission, gifted to me by… a close relative of mine." Abaddon explained "What is it doing you might ask? Well to put it in your own words, it's eh, how do you say it Deathstroke?"

"Terraforming."

"Yes that." Abaddon agreed before leaning back and waiting for a reply

Agni looked at the hologram in silence for several seconds before laughing.

He laughed long and he laughed hard. It was nearly three minutes before he calmed down enough to talk

"I don't think you get it Aleanth." Abaddon said angrily "In three days, I'm going to turn this place into a red hell. There will be no more yellow sun, no blue sky and green grass. I will terrorize this whole planet. I will devour the hearts of those who oppose me!"

Agni gave another chuckled before reaching up to his head and pulling off his hood.

"Look me in the eye Don." Agni said "Look me right and good in the eye."

Abaddon leaned forward and looked Agni in the eye

"I. Don't. Give. A. Fuck." He whispered quietly

Faster than Abaddon could notice, Agni grabbed him by the back of his neck, his hidden blade shot from his bracer and placed itself firmly beneath his Adams Apple

Everyone else jumped immediately, pulling out their weapons. Iivdril had her swords above Agni's head while Deathstroke was holding a minigun and was glaring at everyone across the table.

Agni's companions all had their assorted weapons out. Arsenal was standing on the table with his arm pointing at Iivdril. The rest had their weapons trained on Deathstroke.

"Do you truly think, that I'm just going to let you destroy this beautiful world you sir are very very mistaken." Agni took a deep breath "And let me tell you, if you dare ruin this planet I swear to all the gods everywhere. I will make you suffer."

Agni let Abaddon go and slowly retracted his knife "Do I make myself perfectly clear?"

The half-demon snarled mockingly before ruffling his hair and backing away

"You will lose Agni." Abaddon said slowly "I will not send my armies to you, I will not leave my castle unless I choose too, but remember in three days… this world will be mine."

As Agni blinked Abaddon suddenly disappeared along with his two followers. Leaving them in an empty room.

"Well that went well…" Arsenal commented. "I should have blasted that bitch when I could."

The hologram on the table suddenly changed showing Abaddon.

"Oh and I forgot. I rigged the place with enough explosives to tear a mountain down."

Agni sighed and closed his eyes "John, mind covering Master Bruce, Deathstroke and Arsenal with your green light stuff."

On the other side of the field, on top of the command tower, Bloody Arrow stood keeping an eye out over the fields.

The fire that shot into the sky forced him to shield his eyes and squint the dots out of them. Where the tent was a moment ago now stood a large green bubble that dropped out a Green Lantern, Batman, a one-eyed mercenary, and Arsenal. Next to it was Nabu, his laughter carrying out over the field.

And Agni… was flailing around with his cloak on fire.

Agni stared at the ceiling of his room from his mat on the floor.

The meeting had been disbanded an hour before. Night had already fallen and most of his army was bedding down.

Except for the Amazonians who demanded to get the night watch to prove that they were superior to man who needed shifts.

Thanks to almost everyone being able to use some magic, they managed to erect large wooden cabins across the large cornfield that separated them from Abaddon's large castle. A large wooden wall was almost the only thing defending them Abaddon deciding to suddenly send all of his troops at them.

The Rangers and Team were all housed in a large wooden build near the to-be battlefield. Agni had wanted them as close to it as possible so they could be the first on the scene.

Most of the Team and League weren't talking to him at all… After he was promoted to Commander, he made his first decision right after the meeting.

45 Minutes earlier

"Everyone who is not ready to kill in this battle will not be allowed to fight." He said, standing on top of a large stage they built. "That means, all Leaguers except for John Stewart who is former Marine, Doctor Fate who we need for the demons and Captain Atom who was also in the military. The Team and League are to stay behind the wooden barrier unless I decide otherwise."

"You can't decide that!" Green Arrow shouted "This is our fight to!"

Agni looked disinterested and waved his hand at Jason Todd who placed a small crystal ball on the floor.

What looked like a large magical hologram appeared in front of them

"Oh crap… we did give him complete authority…"

Agni shrugged and walked down from the stage ignoring the screams coming his way.

Current Time

He felt no remorse for what he did. This was a war and in war you do not knock your enemy out, you do not lock them in prison. You kill and you kill quickly.

The Cursed Shadow stood up made his hand sign to call two of his clones.

"Yo boss!" one of them shouted, hefting a large hammer of his shoulder.

Agni pulled out his sword and motioned at them to come at him.

The first clone swiftly swung a large scimitar at his head, while the other swung its hammer at his chest.

The Black-Ranger smirked as he spun away from their weapons, slicing his sword out. The clone knocked it aside and swung it diagonally at him.

Agni spun his sword around and knocked it away, pivoting himself on his right foot and palm blocking the scimitar of the second clone. His hidden blade shot out as he continued to turn he ducked under another hammer swing.

"This is relaxing…" he said backing away with a grin on his face before diving at them again.

The clones unleashed a volley of attacks at him, keeping on him his feet and not letting him stop for a moment.

Spinning his blade in a circular motion he knocked the scimitar out of one's hand and planted his boot into its chest, but before he could finish him, Agni crossed his blade over his back to block the hammer of the second.

The pure force of the hammer sent him sprawling to the ground.

Agni groaned and rolled over to see his clone standing over him with its hammer held high.

Crossing his arms over his face to soften the blow.

He held still for a few moments awaiting the blow. After a few seconds he uncrossed his arms and peeked out.

A shocked expression was on the clone's face as he looked down to see an ice blade sticking through its stomach

It was withdrawn and the clone puffed out of existence, revealing Kal behind it with a cloudy smile on his face.

"Dude… this is totally why you should always have a friend with you." The water elf said as the blade dissolved into water.

Agni grabbed his companions offered hand and was pulled up to a sitting position, "I could have handled that you know."

"Sure dude…"

Agni smirked and clapped his friend on the shoulder. "Why are you even up? Everyone's already bunkered down for the night."

Kal shrugged "Insomnia… couldn't sleep. I figured since dudes like you don't sleep, you might want some company. So I grabbed my pipe for a smoke and came to your room. Imagine my surprise when I saw someone standing over you with a large hammer. I was like totally surprised and whatnot."

Cursed Shadow reached into his Bag of Holding and pulled out a large water bag, taking a sip he sighed and passed it to Kal.

"I'm tired of all of this…" Agni muttered, falling to his back and staring at the ceiling

"Tired of what?"

"Tired of war…" Agni moaned "Tired of the never-ending battle that's always been my life, tired of always having to be worried of when the next assassin will show up, or when my last battle might be… al of it."

Kal looked at his captain and friend with a sad smile "Understandable…"

The two stared into space for several minutes in silence

"You are not coming back… are you?" Kal asked suddenly "You've already made up your mind."

Agni nodded "If I survive this battle… I was going to fake my death, believable of course, and… and just leave."

"You realize they'll find you… sooner or later."

"Not if I can help it."

Waterboy… (I can barely write than with a straight face) chuckled and took a draw from his pipe. "I wish you luck then."

Cursed Shadow nodded and stood up, making for the door "I'm going to go check up on everyone else." He said quietly "Call me if anything arises."

Kal nodded and waved him off "I'm going to go see Tula. Take a break for a while."

Agni walked quietly down the hall stopping before Zatanna's door. He paused with his hand on the handle, there were soft voices coming from inside. He slowly let go and strained his ears.

"You can't trust him!"

Agni arched an eyebrow. There was only one person people talked about like that. It was always him. He waved his hand in front of the door casting a silent spell enabling him to hear more clearly.

"And why not?" Zatanna's voice, was asking as clear as day.

"You think you know him, but you do not." Said a somewhat muffled voice Agni didn't recognize "Back home he's famous, more infamous actually and not for being a good person."

"So?"

"He doesn't care about you! He's a Drow. Not a dark elf, a Drow! One that will use everything to get what he wants. Do you think he's bash an eyelid to sacrifice you if that meant the end of Abaddon? He's using you, he's using the Team and he's using your entire world. He'll destroy this entire world if that means ending Abaddon. He cares not for what happens to you or anyone else."

"Why should I believe you? As far as I know you're just trying to discredit him."

"What good would that have for me? I'm just giving you a warning. You know nothing about Agni. Think about it, what do you know of him?"

"Only what he and the Rangers told me."

"Exactly and I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess it always paints them out to be heroes and the righteous among a sea of evil."

Zatanna was silent and the voice continued

"The truth is he and the Rangers were a curse. They terrified everyone. They executed as they saw fit, they slaughtered villages and camps of people without bashing an eyelid. They basked in the blood they spilt."

"I-I don't believe you! I've seen Agni's memories, I've heard their stories. Why would they lie to us?"

The mysterious voice sighed "I'm not saying they are completely evil, they may have had reason to do what they did, but Agni is another story altogether. His life has been nothing but revenge and bloodshed. He sacrifices and does whatever he can to achieve what he wants. Did he ever tell you why he left the Academy? He didn't leave, Agni was banished under the suspicion of murder! Why he was forced to be the Rangers Captain against his will? He shrouds everything in his secrets."

"I refuse to believe you! You are just saying all of these things because you feel threatened that he'll retake his place."

"Fine then! Do what you want! When he sends you on a suicide mission or leaves you hanging, don't say I didn't warn you."

Agni heard footsteps quickly walk towards the door. He quickly spun around in the dark hall and sank into a dark corner. A quick wave of his hand and what of him was still noticeable quickly faded away.

The door was flung open and Jason Todd exited Zatanna's room. The young elf gave a deep sigh and peered down the hall.

His eyes slowly centered to the spot where Agni was hiding. Cursed Shadow watched as his hand reached for the dagger on his belt. The dagger whistled through the air towards him, Agni braced himself for it when suddenly a hand shot from nowhere and caught it.

"I would watch where you are throwing daggers around." The voice of Nightwing said, as he stepped out of a shadow "These aren't wooden training knives you know."

Jason glared at his predecessor "What are you doing slinking around the halls?"

"I'm on patrol. What's your excuse?"

"Just… giving a friendly warning to Zatanna about a certain Drow among us." Jason answered cheekily

Nightwing nodded before flinging the dagger back

Surprised and unprepared, Jason had no time to move and the dagger pinned his cloak to the wooden wall behind him. Before he could move Nightwing was on top of him a wing-shaped knife gleaming in his hand pressing into his neck.

"You see now Jason, I don't like you. Not one bit. And unfortunately for you Shadow happens to be my best friend. So I will tell you this once and only once. If I ever hear that you are doing anything to harm him in any which way shape or the most simplest of forms, I will slice your neck open and watch you slowly bleed out in front of me. Do you feel the understand me?"

Jason hissed something incoherent and Nightwing stood up, removing the dagger he'd thrown.

"Now get out of here." Nightwing snapped

Todd glared at Richie before slowly walking down the hall.

Nightwing sighed and slipped the dagger into his pouch. With a quick look over his shoulder he paused, listening intently to his surroundings

The knife whistled through the air straight at Agni's head. The hidden dark elf twitched face at the last moment to dodge the knife that would have probably killed him.

Nightwing slowly walked over to it and yanked it out of the wooden wall carefully. After muttering something to himself he shadow jumped, disappearing with a small black flash.

Agni held still for several more moments praying to any gods that was listening that no more knives would be thrown at his face for at least the next six hours. When none came he lowered his cloak and crept out of the shadows.

That little BASTARD Belir growled We should kill that son of a orc consorting, little half son of a caribou…

Not Nightwing, the other little bastard.

Doesn't matter… and not that I actually now that I think of it Todd will probably be taller than us in a few years

Shut up Belir…

Abaddon would never slander us like that…

Yeah… instead he'll mind wipe me and make me his servant and when our use is up, kill us like a common slave.

Not if we join together. If we become one we could over power him when he least expects it.

That would take years Belir

In the meantime we could conquer the world

That's not how I want to do it

Fine… have it your way

Agni sighed and rapped lightly on Zatanna's door.

It swung open almost immediately revealing a disgruntled looking magician.

"Bad time?" Agni asked with acted concern

Zatanna shook her head and waved him in, closing the door firmly behind him.

The room she was staying in was quite plain, like most rooms. There wasn't any time to decorate when there was a large army right outside your door.

Agni listened with half an ear as Zatanna began talking. He knew the question would be coming any moment.

"Hey Agni?" Zatanna asked suddenly

And there it was…

"Hmm?" Agni muttered

"You never told me… why did you leave the Academy back in your dimension?"

Cursed Shadow looked at her and weighed his options. He could lie and risk losing her trust if she decides to believe that little bastard or he could tell the truth and hope she understands

"I didn't exactly leave…" he said slowly

Zatanna looked at him carefully imploring him to continue with her eyes

Before Agni realized what he was doing he felt his mouth move on its own "I was banished under several suspicions of murder…"

Zatanna backed away from him and was silent refusing to meet his eyes for several moments. It was even longer before she said anything

"Were they true?"

Agni nodded "I killed four people… three students and a Master."

"I understand it's different in your dimension, but why would you kill four people? For any reason?!"

"For many a good reason." Agni said quietly "Do not take me for some soulless murderer. I killed them all for good reasons!"

"You can't always act like the Judge, Jury and Executioner!" Zatanna exclaimed

"I wasn't. I was only the executioner."

Zatanna paused "What do you mean."

"I was just following orders from the king." Agni said "He wanted them discreetly and quietly killed. I was the best option."

"Please explain. You're not making any sense." The magician begged

Agni sighed and hung his head "It was a while after I returned from my apprenticeship under Slade. I was already a well trained assassin with considerable skills. Even at such a young age like 20. I was order before the current Emperor for reasons unknown to me."

"And he just told you to kill them and so you did?" Zatanna demanded

"I didn't just kill them!" Agni shouted, his eyes suddenly turning gold on black for a split second and a small ball of fire exploded above them.

Agni forced himself to be calm when Zatanna flinched and backed even further away.

"I didn't just kill them." Agni repeated in a low tone "I killed them for the crimes they committed."

"Why weren't they hanged or beheaded, or whatever it is you people do?"

"Because there wasn't enough proof. Even our Emperor, as just as he is, has to have proof. Everyone knew what they were doing; they had just covered their tracks to well for the Emperors people."

"So he had you kill them."

"He hired me to." Agni corrected "So if I was caught he could claim he had no idea than if he ordered me he would have had to take full responsibility."

"What crimes did they commit?"

"Two students were learning black magic, summoning evil spirits and lesser demons in the city, the third was participating in an illegal market, selling and buying illegal items and that Master… he was selling highly dangerous drugs and addictives to students."

"And all that required a death sentence?"

Agni nodded "Several people died from each of their actions."

"But then why were you only banished and not killed for murder" Zatanna pressed

"Because I'm an assassin." Agni huffed "They had no real proof against me. Even if they did it would have… 'disappeared'." Agni made air quotes "My king would had made sure."

"How were you under suspicion at all then?"

Agni looked at the floor ashamedly "I… killed the Master a bit to… personally."

"Why?"

"When I was younger… even younger, before my apprenticeship with Slade, he was one of my masters. He was a cruel and heartless man and even though it was incredibly cliché he was more so to me than anyone else. Ad even as much as I hate clichés I did the most cliché thing possible. I killed him out of revenge."

"But how were you caught?"

"Someone saw me…" Agni said thoughtfully "I'm still not sure who because they suddenly decided they didn't see me four hours after I was found and imprisoned. It would have had to have been someone lurking around the halls in the middle of the night. That narrowed it down for me, but I never found out who it was."

"So that's it?"

Agni shrugged "Basically."

"You're not leaving anything out?"

"I always leave something out…"

"Are you leaving anything important out?" Zatanna pressed

"Nope."

"Are you lying?"

"Yup."

Zatanna sighed and slowly rubbed her temples "Do you enjoy being difficult?"

The dark elf cocked his head "I'm just being safe."

The raven haired magician rolled her eyes and punched her boy-friend in the arm.

Agni looked at her completely unfazed "Was that supposed to hurt me?"

"You're impossible!" She groaned hiding her face in her hands

She waited for several seconds for Agni to say something. When he didn't she peeked at him from between her fingers.

"Are you done yet?" Cursed Shadow asked curiously "Or am I supposed to wait for something?"

As she opened her mouth the retort, Zatanna's ear twitched as she heard music playing down the hall. The soft strings of a guitar were being play accompanied by what sounded like a flute and harp.

"What's that?" She asked Agni who was listening intently with an unusual expression on his face

His dark red eyes turned to her and twinkled ever so slightly

"That… that's the only good part of war." He said standing to his feet and offering her his hand. "Come. It is time to have one last joyful memory."

Without thinking of his last sentence, Zatanna took his hand and felt herself being pulled outside her room.

Agni stormed down the hall with her, pulling her hand urging her to go walk faster.

Sprinting past them went Connie, his shield bobbing over his shoulder as he speedily ran down the hall towards the common room. He stopped at the end of the hall and opened the door. He gave his two friends a quick smile and waved at them

"Catcha there!" he shouted, hobbling off quickly

"What's going on?" Zatanna asked again as Agni kicked the door open

Inside gathered was most of the younger generation. Most had drinks in their hands or were dancing together. Sorif was at the side of the room gently playing his guitar beside Megg'n who held a harp and was strumming the strings as well.

Agni smiled and glanced at Zatanna who stared at awe.

"The only food part of war." The seasoned warrior whispered into her ear "Having fun with your comrades before."

Zatanna was swept away almost immediately by Anna who directed her over to a small corner of the room where Bloody Arrow was smirking behind a bar passing out drinks beside his counterpart.

"Ahh… took you long enough." Roy said "I assume you'll want your regular?"

"What's the regular?" Zatanna asked dazedly

"That means yes?" Roy assumed passing them two glasses of a bright green liquid

Zatanna took the cup and gave it a small sip. A wide smile appeared on her face a she took a large gulp.

Anna smiled at her counterpart and took a sip of her own.

Across the room Agni slinked across the dance floor, weaving in between his friends, comrades and some he had never even me before. He heard several people greet him and pat him on the back, but he ignored most. He just made his way to were Richie was sitting next to Barbra and Arsenal.

"Do you guys always do this?" Roy Harper was asking as Agni joined them

"Sometimes." Oracle answered "When morale needs to be raised."

"And this is one of those times?"

"Abaddon is holding a weapon that might kill everyone over our heads. Yes this is the time!" Richie said

"Oooh! Listen this is one of my favorite songs!" Barbra shouted

Richie turned to Sorif who started a new song. He cleared his throat and began singing in a sweet clear voice.

"Into the streets, we're coming out
We never sleep, Never get tired
Through urban fields, and suburban life

Turn the crowd up now, We'll never back down
Shoot down a skyline, watch it in primetime
Turn up the love now, listen up now, turn up the love

Who's gonna save the world tonight?
Who's gonna bring you back to life?
We're gonna make it, you and I
We're gonna Save The World tonight

Ohoh oh oh, oh oh ohoh oh

We're far from home, it's for the better
What we dream, it's all that matters
We're on our way, united

Turn the crowd up now, We'll never back down
Shoot down a skyline, watch it in primetime
Turn up the love now, listen up now, turn up the love

Who's gonna save the world tonight?
Who's gonna bring you back to life?
We're gonna make it, you and I
We're gonna Save The World tonight!"

Everyone began clapping as the last few notes faded away. Sorif stood up and took a bow before placing his lute on his chair and walking towards the make shift bar

As everything quieted down Bloody Arrow came over with a drink in his hand. He handed it to Agni.

After thanking his friend Agni settled down into his chair and listen to the conversation.

"So what do you guys do now?" Arsenal asked

"Usually we sing."

"But Sorif is over there trying to flirt with Wonder Girl…"

"And failing horribly…" Richie added

"Someone will start a song." Roy said taking a sip from his glass.

Agni looked up and smiled "Hey Roy!" he called "You remember?-

We were stranded on an Island, Really just our luck…
We met a nasty smelly Ogre who locked our asses up
We found a green of crystal and a piece of metal we could bend
We made a bow and arrow and blew off his entire head

"Suck it Grog!" Richie shouted, fist pumping the air

"That is how we discovered pachynite.." Agni conceded, in the corner of the room Sorif had picked his guitar back up and was playing a familiar tune

All of the people turned to Agni as he raised his mug and began singing again

I was standing in the cave when Anna came to me
Her eyes were full of tears she said "Captain, can't you see
we're all gonna die, do something I beseech"
I grabbed my tomahawk and some dynamite and blew up the town of Bree!

The Rangers gathered around them all smiling and began singing together.

And we sing

Bouncy fireballs and icicle beams off the main shielding dish, that's the way we do things, lad, we're blowing shit up as we wish

The Demons and the Goblins pose no threat to us
'Cause if we find we're in a bind we just blow some shit up

Richie stood on his chair and turned to the crowd of his peers

Even though he's a half-breed and really such a dick, Bloody Arrow is a master when it comes to blowing up some shit,

He's the guy you want with you when you go out to raid!

If only we could blow that smirk off his face!

"Am I really that smug?" Roy asked

"Fuck you, Roy."

"I'll take that as a yes then…" Bloody Arrow conceded as his raised his mug and continued with the next verse

And if you're at a party, with the Rangers in the cave

Beware of Arty 'cas she'll put you in your grave

She'll take an exploding rock and shove it down your throat

Then farewell and we'll send you off in a boat

By now everyone began singing and clapping as the song continued on

And we sing

Bouncy fireballs and icicle beams off the main shielding dish, that's the way we do things, lad, we're blowing shit up as we wish.

The Demons and the Goblins pose no threat to us
'Cause if we find we're in a bind we just blow some shit up

Nightwing's on a mission to blow up the bloody place

He loiters in the night at Gotham's scary place

He might be young, but he'll blow you up so hard

It'll be sung everywhere by the bards

What is with the Amazons, remember in the day
They looked like strippers and they dressed in gold lame
Now they look like heavy armored warriors from the dead
With metal pants and frizzy hair and tiaras on their heads

And we sing

Bouncy fireballs and icicle beams off the main shielding dish, that's the way we do things, lad, we're blowing shit up as we wish.

The Demons and the Goblins pose no threat to us
'Cause if we find we're in a bind we just blow some shit up

Well I was in Cadmus, poundin on the door

When suddenly it dawned on me, I've done this all before

Perhaps I'm in an Illusion spells and slightly out of range

Because having only a single grenade was really kind of strange

We were looking for a way to make the fire soar

So we made Diana go into war

Normally you would think that would get us into shit

But she has a smashing ass and a lovely set of tits

Everyone paused suddenly and glanced at Wonder Girl who was sitting next to Barbra

"Why is everyone looking at me?"

Agni shrugged and finished the song

And we sing

Bouncy fireballs and icicle beams off the main shielding dish, that's the way we do things, lad, we're blowing shit up as we wish.

The Demons and the Goblins pose no threat to us
'Cause if we find we're in a bind, totally screwed but never mind

We pull something out of our behinds

And we just blow some shit up

"Really, guys?" Robin said shaking his head "You made a song about blowing things up and how hot Amazonians are?"

"We just blow some shit up." Agni sang

"You definitely do other things…" Zatanna argued

"We just blow some shit up." Anna retorted

"What about your private lives?"

"We just blow some shit up!" Bloody Arrow sang

"Agni is an assassin." Robin countered "What if he was to assassin someone silently?"

"We just blow some shit up." Agni shouted "Silently! Now stop trying to find flaws in our song!"

Everyone laughed as Agni sat down and rubbed his forehead

"Why are you wearing your hood?" Zatanna asked sitting down next to him. A drink was in her hand and she was feeling very cheerful

"Not everyone can know who I am." Agni muttered

"Just about everyone does." Jason said, sidling up to them "There was a massive information leak, including most of the real names belonging to few people that still used secret identities."

"So people know who I really am?"

Jason nodded "Agni Amelani. Drow turned Dark Elf, Ranger, Sorcerer, for being a Rebel with one of the highest magic power levels ever recorded. Seconded only to Harry Potter himself. Also known to be a horrible leader and completely useless."

Agni clenched his jaw while considered stabbing his idiotic kin.

Zatanna looked at the younger dark elf carefully "Anything else?"

Jason Todd smiled slyly "Like him actually being Belir'hacyrd Aleanth infamous for destroying the last large Drow town? After he became lord of the Brotherhood he was killed by Agni Amelani no cover up who he really was? Nope never heard that, definitely not from Master Bruce or Nabu or anything of that sort."

Jason Todd winked and strolled off to get himself another drink

Agni stood still shocked for a moment

"Did he…?"

"Yeah…"

"Should I…?"

Zatanna shook her head "No he's keeping that a secret."

"Really?"

"I think so."

Agni shrugged and lifted his hands to grab the edge of his hood. After a moment of reluctance he pulled it off revealing his dark red eyes, white hair and pointed face.

A gushing sound came from next to them as Wonder Girl came zooming over

"Can I get a picture?!"

"No."

"Please?"

"Go away."

"Oh common Agni." Oracle said, taking a seat next to them "Don't be such an idiot."

Agni raised an eyebrow and continued to ignore the squealing girl who saw Nightwing and Robin standing next to each other and went off to ask for an autograph

"Why would she want a picture with you?" Zatanna asked

"In our world… the Rangers are heroes." Oracle said "Not literally exactly, but they are role models and beloved warriors. They were the kings favored branch of the military and the people's favorite guild. Agni, being the captain was a small legend being… you know him."

"What about everyone else?"

"Everyone was famous for something. For some like Nightwing and Aqualad it only added on to previous fame."

"So you guys are celebrities." Zatanna said, a smile slowly forming on her face as she thought of the teasing material she might have just received.

Agni shrugged and sipped his drink "Guess so."

Oracle stared at Agni for several moments before turning to Zatanna

"Can I talk to you for a moment? In private." She asked

The magician nodded and followed her to a quieter part of the room.

"Okay, spill it." Oracle said harshly "What did you do to him?"

Zatanna looked at Barbra in confusion "What do you mean?"

"I know Agni. I practically grew up with him. I trained with him, ate with him, slept next to him while guarding the walls. This isn't Agni. Agni is quiet, stoic, harsh, uncaring… and that's only to name a few. What did you do to him?"

"I-I did nothing."

"Why do I find that hard to believe?"

"He was like that when he got here. He was nonchalant… angry. He changed slowly over time. He was shocked to find out what our dimension was like."

"I watched Richie's memories. Even from then, that wasn't what he was like."

Zatanna shrugged "That's how he was when he got here."

"Mind if I put in my two cents?" Sorif said suddenly behind them

He quickly ducked to dodge the punch from Oracle that possibly would need surgery afterwards.

"Sorry, should have announced my presence." He said apologetically.

"How long were you listening for?" Zatanna demanded

The young bard shrugged "I'm always listening… how do you think a bard gets his stories?"

Oracle glared at the elf. Even while she was floating he was her height. That was tall for an elf.

"What is it you think happened?"

"I have this theory." Sorif started "I think he might have sealed away some of himself."

"How?"

"When?"

Sorif shrugged his shoulders "Just a theory… not even really a good one."

The young bard picked up his lute and began playing again as he walked away.

Before they could finish their conversation, Harry burst through the door. He scanned the room wildly before his eyes fell on Agni

"Dragon! Get your bloody rear out of that chair and into command tower!"

Agni was up and his hood back over his head in a moment. His weapons suddenly became visible on him as he dashed through everyone standing around the room.

"What's up Harry?" he asked when he reached the door

"It's Abaddon's army… It's charging."
