"A walk in the woods helps me relax and release tension. The fact that I'm dragging a body behind me should be irrelevant."

Without warning, Solstice sprung off the ground as if she'd touched a hot stove. She stood a few feet away, coughing up the remaining blood left in her stomach. "I'm okay now. I don't know what that was, but I'm good."
The air became electrified, so much so that the rest of the group suddenly felt obligated to take a few precautionary steps back. "Sol, you are the most irresponsible and immature person I've ever had the displeasure of meeting!" Equinox shouted, sparks flying from the tips of her fingertips. "You are stubborn, stupid, foolish - are you trying to scare me into an early grave?"
Solstice wiped a trail of blood away from the edge of her mouth. "I know, I know, I'm an idiot." She rolled her eyes. "Can we can on with this stuff? I don't want to be freezing my a-"
"LANGUAGE!" Equinox yelled, manly for the sake of having something else to be mad about.
Solstice got this strange look on her face and glared Equinox down. "Dude, take your chill pill and choke on it. We've got better things to do."
The muscle in Equinox's cheek twitched, as if she was considering burning that smirk straight off Solstice's face. "Fine, have it your way, Princess." She chucked the GPS at Solstice who caught it and began typing commands into it.
"It's this way!" Solstice declared happily, just as though she hadn't been close to dying in a remote location for no apparent reason. "Single file line, please. Wouldn't want to get lost out here, that's for sure."
With a few confused sidelong glances, the group followed single file behind Solstice with Equinox way at the back to melt their footsteps away from the snow. It was nearly thirty minutes before anyone talked again, as Solstice barely said a word and was leading everyone in the right direction, no one had much to say.
"Is she quite alright?" Otto asked Equinox after he had heard her mutter the fifth curse to Solstice's name.
Equinox snapped a little harder than was necessary to dissolve the foot prints away. "She is never okay. I question her sanity every day and wonder, what did I do to get stuck with her?" She twirled a stray strand of hair around her finger. "No, that's not it. More like, what if she does something that kills her?"
The figure paced back and forth, a rather sizable rut carved into the snow from their persistent walking. "How much longer?" they growled irritably, their hands shaking with anticipation.
"Eh, at least another hour," the other said, checking the countdown inside their helmet. "You have the time too, y'know."
"Shut up, Aurora, I know damn well," the individual snapped, approaching the other in a way that was likely to transform into another fight.
Aurora stood her ground. "Go ahead and hit me again. You'll never-" She paused as a bright, flashing message appeared on her HUD. If she had not been wearing her helmet, the other would have been amused by the look of pure bewilderment on her face. Aurora swallowed nervously, daring a fleeting look at her partner. "I can't believe it. They really are there."
"Let's go," the other replied, the aggressiveness and desire to hurt present in his voice. "We'll teach then a lesson that they won't be able to forget."
Aurora felt something twist in her gut, guilt. "Casper, I don't think we should be doing this-"
Casper got right in her face, well, as close as his mask would allow for. "You can help me or you can paint this place red," he whispered, which was more frightening to Aurora than his screaming. "And it's not Casper anymore, it's Borealis. We're not humans anymore; we're Units."
It took Aurora a moment to figure out that she was shaking, and she opened her mouth to retort, but all the came out was pathetic whimper.
"That's what I thought," Borealis sneered. "Now, get us out of here."
With a snap of Aurora's fingers and a flash of blinding white light, the two were gone, leaving nothing more than their footprints.
Siobhan - Thank you for your review! ~(^͜^)~ Enjoy this strange little figure I made that I think looks like a happy vampire bat.
Review-guy - Thank you for reviewing and for all the feedback and ideas! :) In response to your questions, I promise it will be explained within the next 10 chapters. And if for some odd reason like, I don't know, I forget, *looks guiltily away from computer* feel free to send me a review that's like, "Yo' get your stuff together." It's so awesome that someone thinks I can write like Mark Walden! (/◕ヮ◕)/ Thanks again!
