It was the evening day as the mayor of Metro City waited at the airport. It was now time for the final boarding. Geared up in a business dress, eyeglasses and braided hair, it was the perfect indication of a major change for the mayor's daughter. As he embraced her blond hair, he felt like he has not seen or heard from her in years. "Jessica: there was not a single moment in my mind that I did not ever think of you."

"I missed you father." Jessica replied holding her father's muscular backbone.

After studying aboard in Europe for so long, she was determined to finally make a difference just like her father. Haggar almost even didn't recognize her anymore. Even at times, he wondered "Who are you and what have you done to my Jessica?" Jessica laughed.

Haggar wasted no time inviting her out to a fine restaurant. As their coffee was received, they begin to talk. One topic would include old times with Haggar and his late wife, Nancy. Other stories would be about Jessica's embarrassing childhood, much to her grief. As typical of a normal father. But Jessica would not go down as easily as she told stories about her mother. Her mother would often refer to Haggar as her "big doofus" as she heard.

Now Haggar was the one in the embarrassment chair. "Hey, I wasn't that bad."

"Mom did tell me you were always the jealous type to go after anybody who looked her or even hit on her the wrong way. You were like dog marking his territory." Jessica chuckled.

"So you've gained a sense of humor now overseas?" Haggar hid his blushing mode.

"I've gained more than that father." Jessica held out a bachelor degree in Law. Haggar was already impressed, not to mention proud of her daughter accomplishment. Jessica also showed a Bugle newspaper about his teamup with Spider-Man and other heroes. "I heard you also been gaining quite the popularity poll."

"Things have been hectic lately, but we were able to pull it off. At least I had hoped so."

"You always did have that drive to keep citizens and the city safe." Jessica covered Haggar's hand with her own. "That much has not changed about you."

Haggar smiled. "So have you met anyone special overseas?"

Because of the subject, Jessica started to blush. "Come on father, I was too busying studying that I didn't have time to meet anyone special in my life." Jessica said turning her eyes the other direction.

Haggar laughed at Jessica. "I don't think I've ever seen you this flustered since Cody was with you."

"Very funny, I just hope Cody is doing okay, despite our… history."

Haggar didn't like the subject. He could still remember the time Cody went towards his own path, thus breaking tides to him, Jessica and even Guy. Because of their falling out, Haggar had broken all communication with Jessica's ex-boyfriend. Just the fact of hearing his name made him angry.

As the former fighter walked down the streets of New York in chains, men approached him from behind. Armed with a pipe, crowbar, knife, chains, and other weapons, they surrounded him. "We are going to make you pay for beating up most of our guys." The Thug said.

"Hey don't blame me just because those idiots were in my way. And besides they just plain sucked, not worth my time or effort."

"Not worth your time, then maybe we will. Get him!"

With a grin, Cody unleashed her devastating fury. The tornado blew all the thugs away within a flash. As he brushed the dust from his hands, he took a yawn. "Is it over already, I didn't even break a sweet. These fights get more boring every day. Seriously, why do I even bother anymore?"

When the police showed up, Cody remained unmoved. Without struggling or saying a word, Cody went with the nice officers in the squad car. Much to Guy's disappointment, he was already too late. As he watched Cody go away in that squad car, his determination only risen.

Even if Haggar and Jessica lost all hope within hopeless Cody years ago, Guy still felt the old Cody was still in there. He knew the real Cody was still there deep in that empty prison garb shell. No matter what trouble he got himself into, Guy always watched him like a hawk.

But as a ninja, even Guy's patience's only went so far.

Without waiting or warning, Jessica greeted her old friend. "Guy!"

"Good to see you again Jessica." Guy put on a mid-smile as he hugged Jessica. Stoic as he was, he was still happy to see Jessica again.

"I missed you. Were you able to reach out Cody after all this time?"

Guy showed his grim face. "Personally, I'm starting to wonder if he is even reachable."

"I just hope that he's okay, nevertheless." As she broke away Jessica started to feel ill, without hesitation she rushed to the nearest restroom. He stomach started to twist and turn.

"Um, are you okay?" Guy asked with concern.

"Fine, I guess I just overdid it with the late night party my father threw in my honor. It must be the alcohol from last night." Jessica continued to vomit.

"You should really ease up on the drinks."

While she was done, she pulled out a medical marker from her purse. It was time for the final test. Having been with many different forms of sicknesses, Jessica had feared the worst sign. As she glanced at the marker, it was as she suspected. The tests were one hundred percent positive.

Just then, she remembered during her years at the university in Europe. Eight months ago, she had an unexpected run in. When wondering through campus, she took a surprising gaze at Cody who was around campus. But school was in session, so nobody was there to greet him. Before anybody could get to him, Jessica rushed to him. One side was glad he was doing well, other could not even bear to see his face.

With a smile, Cody said. "Hey what's up babe, you're looking well today?"

Jessica pulled Cody directly to her dorm room. "What are you doing here? Did you break out of prisoner, again?"

"Oh just here and there, fighting one fight after another. And since you were here on campus, I figured I'd see you." Cody rubbed on her cheek.

Jessica smacked his hand away. "Please stop messing around would you, you can't be doing things as you please just because you're bored."

"Come on babe, I made all my time to see how your doing did I? I could have been clobbering somebody's head right about now."

She chuckled for second then stopped. "You haven't changed a bit Cody." She did like strong men back then and she did love them now. Yet, she still could not get over her unfortunate incident back then. Jessica turned her back away from him. "You need to get out of here, for all I know, the police could be looking for you right now. And there will be hell to pay if they catch me with you."

"Come on Jessica, where is your sense of adventure as it was back then?"

"You mean your sense of adventure." Jessica corrected, shoving Cody away from her. "You cared more about your stupid fights then you did about your own friends and even me. But not anymore, just like you, I've changed Cody. And the past is the past."

Cody brushed her hair back off her lovely face. "You're always so cute when you're angry."

Cody feel on Jessica's bare lap. As she checked his face, she could sense the stumble manliness on him. Back in the old days, Jessica would often clean his wounds after fighting with enemies. That early memory made her smile. But as she got back to the present, she focused on what was now.

Turning her hand to get Cody off, he had already fallen asleep. In a few moments, she begin to admire his sleeping face after a long day of work. It made her heart pound and her face brighten. "What am I thinking? This idiot won't change." Jessica said trying to evade her feelings. But the more she was close to him, the more the feelings started to resurface.

As sleeping Cody embraced her in bed, she was at a crossroads. Jessica's heart pounded faster and faster like a hammer. With the fullest deepest of affection, Cody and Jessica stared at each other for second. Then it turned to minute. After an hour, the lips had already connected. And their feelings took each other by storm once again.

Coming out of the bathroom and back to reality still woozy, she noticed Guy was already gone. "Went to check out something, be back soon," was written on a little note left on the bathroom door.

The Police Officer said pushing Cody back to his prison cell. "Its solitary confinement with you punk." as he passed the inmates, they sent him deadly stares. They were like a curse being place to the already miserable fighter. When he returned, Cody already lied down for his evening nap. It was another long day for him as looked up at the darken ceilings.

"Here you are kid, you can try all you want. But this loser has nothing for him." The guard said leading Peter to Cody's cell. As much as Peter didn't want to, Jameson forced Peter to interview an inmate in prison. Cody was the specify one he suggested.

Out of all the things Jameson wanted him to do, this had to be his lowest point. Still, what was he going to do? The guard tapped the cell. "Hey wake up, you have visitor."

"Come back later, I'm in the middle of a fight." Cody dreamed.

"I said get your ass up already, unless you want more time on your sentence!" The guard shouted.

Cody sat up. "Fine, fine, whatever."

"Hey there Cody, I'm Peter Parker, a freelance photographer from the Daily Bugle." Peter introduced.

Uninterested, Cody yawned again as he lied back down. "Tell it to someone who cares."

"I heard that you defended Metro City from the Mad Gear Gang that must have been epic." Peter said with excitement in his tone.

"These morons were nothing more but all bark and no bite." Cody said, still not caring. "Heck, they could barely act without their boss acting like their mother and telling them what to do. If they told them to wear woman's clothing, they would do so in a heartbeat."

Another failed subject, so Parker tried another method. He pulled out an old article. It was the story of Cody, Guy and Haggar saving the city from the vicious Mad Gear. It was almost four to six years old. As Cody looked at the newspaper, he just scoffed. "You know I once had a pet dog as old as that paper. Don't know why people still carry that thing anymore."

"Wow, you aren't at all what was described on the old days." Shamed that he failed again, Peter said. "What happened to you?"

"Look kid, people just change, I've changed. That's all there is to it."

"But, people don't just change without a valid reason."

"Yeah, well I do."

"You sure you're not running away from somebody or something? Or maybe you're just in denial? Or else, maybe a lady friend?"

"Well there was someone…" Cody started, but then paused. He almost faintly remembered his sweetheart. "Bah, what does it matter, those days are over."

"Come on man, I'm on a deadline here, I need something from you now." Peter begged. Before he could proceed further, Cody was already snoring. Peter took a defeated sigh as he was got nothing but air. He only hoped Jameson would at least be lenient with his failure. But knowing Jameson, he never accepts things halfway.

As told by the guard, Peter took his leave. But then his spider sense started to set off. It could have not been the prisoners that seemed like potential threat to him. He was already getting a weird vibe from the guard. Fortunately, he set a spider tracer around Cody's set for emergency purposes.

"Come on guys, time for your daily thirty minute recess." The guard called out to the rest of the prisoners. Playing it off, Peter was sure that something was going on at Ryker Island prison, since recess was already called for today. Not to mention, something about the guard was funny. He waited till he was completely out of sight as he changed in Spider-Man. But Spidey was not alone on this infiltration.

As he was about to inhale the fresh air, Cody was already cornered by inmates. And as usual, they were not happy with his calm nonchalant look. As they cracked their knuckles, Cody already figured where this was going. "You guys are going to have to bring more of your A game if you want to roll with me?" Cody taunted.

"Then how about this smart ass?" Giant mechanize footsteps made the ground shake. When it emerged, it was a man in High Tech armor of orange and purple.

Not amazed, Cody asked, "David Breyer, what the hell happened to you? Did you lose weight?"

David pounded his metal fist. "I'm called Armada now punk. And I'm going to bust you up like you busted me!"

"Don't forget about us, the Enforcers." Montana, Fancy Dan and Ox surrounded Cody.

"I hope you like my arrangements Cody." A pale hard-skinned prisoner clapped awkwardly.

"You're looking well Lonnie or should I call you Tombstone now. Or maybe I should call you hardass now; it sounds perfect if you ask me." Cody joked badly.

"Let's see how long you can possible jest from this encounter." Tombstone shot back. "Boys, take him apart!"

Cody took an anticipated grin and taunted the criminals. "It looks like this won't be a boring time after all."

Montana, Fancy Dan and Ox made the first move charging at Cody from all directions. Tossing rock at the first guy, Cody made the sucker punched Fancy Dan to the crowd of prisoners. Before he could make a move on Ox, Armada grabbed the street fighter from behind.

When Ox and Tombstone roared with a charge, web covered up both of their faces. Secondly, Guy and Spider-Man leaped down for a downward kick to the criminals. "You're as careless as ever Cody." Guy glanced at Spider-Man. "I'm sorry to involve you in our troubles Spider-Man."

"Don't worry about it; I'm used to it by now." Spider-Man replied.

"What are you guys doing here?" Cody inquired.

"I knew something was going on when the officers that were supposed to get you never showed up."

"It's Spider-Man and that ninja guy." Tombstone exclaimed. "Get them!" Tombstone called out to the rest of the prisoners. Because of the numbers, Spider-Man, Guy and Cody were forced to retreat, to Cody's disapproval. If there was one thing, he hated doing that's running from fights.

Each inmate came from multiple cells and directions after the three of them. As they run through the large prison of Ryker's, they started to wonder where the prison guards were in this situation. There was not one in sight. With every closed door, Spider-Man and Guy barricaded the door's shut.

"How did all the prisoners get free?" Guy wondered setting a metal bed outside the door.

"Beats me, but I guessing an outside source," Spider-Man held himself at the door.

"Source of not, why the hell are we hiding from these clowns?" Cody was already getting impatient. "Most of them are just former Mad Gear members, we put away long ago."

"I have a feeling its more than that Cody." Guy tried to access the prison radio. "We are under attack, send guards right now." There was no response from the comlinks. "The radios are fried. We can't call for help at this rate. It looks like we are on our own for now Cody, just like old times."

Cody was not happy. "Yeah whatever man."

Suddenly they came across the main security room to discover many of the guards were locked down. Shielded from voices and hacks, neither of them could get around. Neither one of their fist could break the wall surrounding them. So they decided a new method. One tap on the glass led to multiple taps.

"We can't get you out, so give it a rest already." Cody shouted.

Guy shook his head. "No; he's using morose code." Guy started to understand the taps. "He's saying there are more guards scattered around the prison locked up like we are. And we have no control of the prison security system."

"Any idea who did this?" Spider-Man asked.

The guard's shook their heads.

Guy did a few taps of his own saying, "Don't worry, we will find a way to restore this prison system and get you out of there." When the doors were coming lose, the three of them had already disappeared.

"Spread out and find them, they could have not gone far." Tombstone ordered the inmates. "There will be a big reward for whoever defeats them and brings me their heads."

Hidden in many places throughout the prison facility, Guy, Cody and Spider-Man tried the stealth approach. Each member that had explored further in the prison was taken down silently. Together they set up traps and stealth tactics to take down their foes within the jails. And since the inmates were all brawn and no brain, it was easy for them to get the drop on them.

"What's going on back there?" Tombstone called out. As they cut on the lights, all the prisoners were dangling from the ceiling within Spider-Man's webs.

"Come out and fight, you cowards or else we're going to start painting the prison a new color!" Tombstone demanded holding guards hostage.

Out of nowhere, Spider-Man tackled Armada. Guy and Cody decided to brawl with Tombstone and his Enforcers. With their spinning kicks, they knocked down the Enforcers.

"Hold still so I can smash you into pieces Spider-Man." Armada demanded pounding his fist in all directions.

"Nah, I like my pretty face, thank you." Spider-Man replied in his witty charm.

"You know you have an annoying habit of showing up when you're not needed." Cody said to Guy while fighting Tombstone.

"Well someone has to keep your knuckleheaded self in line if Haggar or the police aren't." Guy shot back, fighting the Enforcers.

"Like I said Guy, I'm solo now."

"Typical as ever Cody, running away from your responsibilities and even Jessica who just arrived in town recently. You know she was asking about you."

"Yeah so what else is new? Jessica is stepping up now."

"She's grown up a lot more then you. And besides it's deep Cody, way deep."

As their backs touch, Cody and Guy were side by side again. The washed-out Street Fighter had almost remembered him and Guy fighting together to defend Metro City from the Mad Gear's evil ways. Cody bold aggression and Guy's cunning ninja skills were enough to make the Gear's cringe on their feet and sometimes wet their pants.

When Armada held the wallcrawler in his tight grip, Spider-Man grabbed an electric cord from the wall. After he exposed the suit's conduit, he gave the suit a short-circuited, crippling the suit.

Using Guy's speed and precision, he was able to use his Bushi-Ryu skills to its fullest. With his lighting speed he vanished into thin air, and unleashed his silent fury among the Enforcers. Neither of them could blink nor react to the power of his ninja techniques as they fell in battle.

Before Tombstone could finish off one of the guard hostage, Cody leaped into action. When up to close distance, he shot out multiple punches like a machine gun then finished it off with a tornado uppercut, thus sending the villain flying. "You suck man." Cody said to the fallen villain.

Guy helped up the guard. "Are you alright?"

"Yeah thanks to your friend there." The guard replied, still fragile.

"Prison system back online." The announcement from the security office said. And so the guards were free, the system was back in order. That is thanks to Haggar and Jessica interference. The guards were now able to assume their duties in keeping the prisoners in line.

"We went to help, but it seem like you boys had it all under control." Haggar said.

Later on that day, the guard unlocked Cody's handcuffs. "Congratulations Cody Travers, because you helped saved a lot of lives today. You have been officially pardoned. You're a free man now, but try not to screw it up this time."

No longer did Cody bear his prison suit anymore. Now he was back in his T-shirt and jeans, just like old times. His facial expression turned from a deadpan look to a confident face, just like the old days.

"You didn't think you would escape from me easily did you after our last meeting?" Jessica asked.

Cody was confused. "Huh, why would I need to anyway?"

"Because; I'm pregnant Cody."

Cody jaw dropped and his eye went wide shot. "Are you serious?"

Jessica nodded her head as she felt her stomach. From what he heard before, Cody took another look at Guy. "It was not my place to say Cody, the signs were obvious. But I figure she'd be the one to tell you instead of me."

Cody scratched his head was almost at a loss for words. "I can't believe it. I'm going to be a dad. And looks like you're going to be a grandpa old man." Cody said to Haggar.

Angry, Haggar caught Cody in his muscle bound grip. "Cody. I always knew you were a loser now, but I never knew you go this far." Haggar's grip became tighter and tighter from every flex. Haggar body slammed Cody to the hard surface. "I won't forgive you for this."

Jessica placed her hands on Cody's hands. "I'm willing to give us a second chance if you are Cody."

"For once in your life start taking responsibility." Guy lectured.

As he saw his friend's kind faces after all these years, he remembered the bound he shared with all three of them. Cody did not feel like he deserved a second chance after walking out on his friends. But as they extended their hand to him, he started to remember how friendship truly was. He almost felt like crying deep inside.

Cody smiled as he rose on his feet, "I suppose your right. Thanks for not giving up on me after all this time Guy. Guys, I'm sorry for being such a burden to you."

After the ultrasound test, the gender was decided as a boy. Still it was only months away from the final birth. For now on Cody would not lose Jessica again or let anything consume him. He was a new person from now on, responding to the help of others who really need him.

The Cody that once was, now had made a triumphant return as a proud citizen and fighter of Metro City. When the gangs were back, Cody and Guy were already on the field with Spider-Man by their side for a piece of the action.

"Try not to go overboard this time." Guy warned.

"I will make no such promises if they strike first, but for Kyle's sake. I will try."

Guy glanced at Cody. "Kyle?"

"Yeah, that is the name I came up with for my son."

Guy smiled. "It's good to have you back Cody."

"It's good to be back. And Guy, why don't you be an uncle to Kyle as well? You're not just my friend, your family to me."

Guy was deeply flattered with his request. "Well I suppose someone has to keep him in line in case you fail again. And I'm sure it would take Haggar time to really get used to it. He still wants to break your face for that."

"Heads up guys looks like they are here." Spider-Man warned from his spider sense.

Cody cracked his knuckles waiting to crack some heads. "Then what are we waiting for guys? Let's get this show on the row for old times' sake." Cody as Guy and Spider-Man charged at the Mad Gear's for another epic battle and adventure.
