It's been a few weeks, but I'm back!
In this chapter...Evan, Bridget, Adam and Tucker confront their issues...Ethan talks to Carlos!
Chapter 49: Evan's POV
"Have we gotten the costumes yet for Kat's tour?" I asked our fashion director, Amber.
"They'll be done tomorrow," she answered. "We'll have them in time."
"Perfectttt," I said. "I am going home to my husband now."
"Alright Evan, see you tomorrow," Amber smiled.
"See ya," I smiled back, grabbing my things and heading down to my car.
Adam left work early today because he wasn't feeling too well, so I figured I'd get some take out for dinner and just cuddle with him tonight. I drove home, pulling into our driveway. Our new house was pretty nice if I do say so myself. It was big enough to have all of the space we needed, but small enough to be comfortable for the two of us.
I opened the door walking into the house.
"Babe, I'm home!" I yelled.
I walked into the living room, seeing Adam on the couch, talking to Bridget. I stopped instantly.
"Hey babe," Adam smiled.
"Hey," I said breathlessly. "Hey Bridge."
"You look like you've seen a ghost," Bridget laughed.
I hadn't really seen Bridget since the wedding. I didn't know how she felt about all of this, and I suppose I should've confronted this years ago…we are still a friend group.
"Can we talk?" she asked.
"Of course," I chuckled, glancing at Adam who didn't seem fazed at all.
There was a knock on the door.
"I'll get that, then we can talk," I said, going back to the front door. I opened the door to reveal Tucker. I frowned instantly.
"How did you find our address?" I asked.
"This was supposed to be my house remember?" he chuckled.
"Right…."
"Listen, I don't want to start anything, I just want to talk to Adam," he said.
"I don't know if he wants to see you," I said honestly.
"That's fine, but he needs closure, I know it and you know it to," he said.
I just looked at him for a long time.
"Fine," I said, stepping aside.
He walked in and followed me into the living room, this time Adam looked as white as a ghost. If we didn't approach these issues head on, we could never move forward. I didn't really want to look at Adam because I knew he had to be eye murdering me right now.
"So, it looks like we all just need to have discussions," Bridget said.
At that moment, I heard the door open and Alex stepped in, first looking at me, then Adam, then Bridget and Tucker.
"Ohhhh…am I interrupting something?" Alex asked.
"Tucker and I will go outside and talk," Adam said.
"Bridge and I will stay in here," I said.
"Alright…" Alex said awkwardly. "I'll be in your kitchen eating your food."
With that, he walked away and Adam and Tucker went outside, leaving Bridget and I.
"So..." I started.
"Evan, I'm not mad at your if that's what you're curious about," Bridget laughed.
"Seriously?" I asked.
"Again, I knew that this was going to happen she said and I've had time to get used to the idea," she said.
"I feel bad because it's almost like I wasted your time," I said.
"No," she shook her head. "You loved me the way that I needed it for all of that time, I don't regret a second of it."
I smiled at that.
"I wanted to come here so we can move forward as a friend group. We're on good terms and so are me and Adam," she said. "We can go back to normal as if nothing ever happened, the only change is that you're married now but we're still best friends."
"You do know I'll always love you right?" I asked. "For being there for me and supporting me."
"Always," she winked. "Now let's go see what Alex is eating."
I smiled, following her into the kitchen. I was always going to be happy as long as Bridget was still in my life. I genuinely do love her too, but Adam is my soulmate and I'm glad she understands that.
Ethan's POV
I sighed as I looked at the clock on the way to my parent's house from work. It was already 8 PM; we had a late shoot today so I had to stay behind. I pulled into the driveway, getting out of the car and walking over to the door. I unlocked it before stepping into the house.
I walked into the living room just to see Pops sitting on the couch.
"Hi Pops," I said.
"Hey Ethan," he replied, turning back to the TV.
"Where's Laura?" I asked.
"Logan took her and Liam out for ice cream after dinner," he said.
"Oh…I guess I'll just head home then," I shrugged. "I'll text Dad to just drop her off."
I started to head to the door.
"You could wait you know," he said, still not looking at me.
I nodded, taking a seat, but it got really awkward really fast. Okay, so maybe Pops and I haven't really been talking since the whole abortion thing came up. I don't know why things were so weird because I never thought the past would affect things so much.
"Papi, we need to talk," I said eventually.
He nodded, but still didn't look at me. Petty.
"I need you okay," I said. "I'm afraid and I'm still so confused and you're my voice of reason."
That got him to finally turn off the TV and look at me.
"I'm sorry," I said. "I should have told you about the abortion or perhaps I shouldn't have done it. I just didn't know how anybody would react or see me, so I got an abortion and didn't even tell Luke I was pregnant."
"I'm not mad at you anymore Ethan," Pops said. "I just was kind of hurt about the fact that you can't trust us as much as we thought. I always tried to get you guys to know that we're always here."
"I know…and I made a split second decision that I regretted," I said. "I'm sorry. Can I please have my Papi back."
"You'll always have me," Pops smiled. "No matter what."
He pulled me into a hug.
"You know, when I really thought about it, you were acting really weird around that time. So weird that even Evan noticed and came to me about it," Pops said. "I guess that explains it."
"Yup," I chuckled. "Why do we fight so much?"
"Because as much as you don't want to admit it, you're just like your Papi," he laughed.
"I guess so," I shrugged. "But honestly, you're the only person that can make me feel comfortable with my current situation, I don't know what I would do without you."
"Ethan, when did you get so sweet?" Pops chuckled.
"When I started acting like my Papi," I joked.
"How are you feeling?"
"Still queasy," I said. "I went to the doctor today and baby is healthy, but I still can't believe this is happening."
"You only found out two weeks ago," he said. "You'll get used to the idea again."
"What about you and Luke?" he asked.
"We're friends," I shrugged. "We talked it out and we'll be fine, but I'm not dating him."
"Okay," Pops smiled.
"I'm serious," I said.
"Just remember…your Pops knows all and you will be together," he said.
I rolled my eyes, turning the TV back on
"Whatever you say pops."
