I've had many people asking is Cat was going to die, if I was going to save Allison... so let me tell you this...
I'm not going to tell you!
All I can tell you is that, yes, in another story, after this one, Cat will be going to Starling City. Cat will be back for season 3 of her story... season 4 of teen wolf in ANOTHER story... I just can't tell you when or which episode she'll be back in though...:D
Enjoy.
… … …
Cat's eyes opened and she gasped for air as if her dream death had made her stop breathing in real life.
"Are you okay?" Deaton asked.
Cat glanced around, noticing they were in the car again.
"Uh, yeah." She mumbled, looking out the window. She didn't want to talk about her dream. Very rarely did she learn of her future that way and now… now… god, she was going to die.
"You were dreaming." Deaton pointed out.
"Yeah, what happened to me?" She asked, changing the subject.
"You passed out. Ikeda's men had called me and now they're waiting for us. I did not want to go in there alone."
Cat ground the palm of her hands into her eyes, trying to dispel the images from her dream. "Why?"
"I have a plan but it's always safe to have a back up plan. Especially when this backup plan is a Seer and can wield a gun better than almost anyone I know."
She gave a faint smile before abruptly changing the subject. "If you knew someone was going to die, would you stop it?"
Deaton became very serious as he shot her a glance before turning back to the road. "That was no ordinary dream was it?"
Cat shook her head.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
Another shake of her head.
Deaton sighed. "If someone is meant to die, then somehow, they will die. Even if you stopped it from happening, there is still a chance they will die another way. But there's also a chance you can save it."
He pulled the car up to the gate, rolling down his window to speak to a man, a guard, that seemed to be waiting for them. He pointed them up towards the house and Deaton spoke a few words in Japanese before pulling the car through the gates.
"You speak Japanese?" Cat asked. "Why am I surprised? I shouldn't be surprised."
He parked the car and both of them got out, only to be met by two guards. One of them spoke to Deaton in Japanese, pointing towards her as he looked very agitated. The vet replied back in a calm voice and the guard stepped away, pulling out a phone.
"They need approval for you." Deaton told her.
"They need approval for a harmless, 18 year old girl?" She asked in disbelief. "I'm his assistant." She reached into the car and pulled out the Vet's bag. "What am I going to do? Throw a bag at you?"
"It'll take a moment." Deaton said with a raised eyebrow, trying not to look too amused.
She returned it with a small smirk as the guard returned and motioned for them to follow.
"Bow when I do and let me do the talking." The vet whispered to her as they entered the house and the guards led them upstairs.
As they stopped outside a room, they could hear someone yelling and Cat shot Deaton a glance but he didn't return it as the doors opened and they stepped inside. The vet bowed and Cat followed suit as he spoke to who she could only assume was Ikeda in Japanese.
"Apologize if you can't do anything." The mob boss replied, stepping closer to the white wolf. "Have you worked with wolves before?"
Deaton looked up at him before glancing at Cat with an amused expression. "Here and there."
"Who is she?" Ikeda asked, pointing at the blonde.
"My assistant." Deaton replied. "she worked in a wolf sanctuary up north so I figured it was best to bring her. " He knelt down, motioning for Cat to follow suit as he reached into his bag to pull out some gloves. "And what's our patients name?"
"Yuki." Ikeda replied.
"Hello Yuki." The vet greeted him. The wolf's eyes rolled to look at them and when it saw Cat, she saw his eyes brighten a little as he let out a small whine, happy to see her again.
"He likes Cat, I told you she knew wolves." Deaton observed.
Cat heard some of the guards whispering at her name, probable because of the whole Cat and Wolves thing she was oh so fond of hearing. She ignored them though, reaching out to place a hand on the wolves fur to calm him, silently apologizing to him.
"Now what have you got yourself into, my friend?" Deaton murmured as he began his examination. He lifted Yuki's lip to take a look at his teeth and gums before looking at Ikeda who had come to kneel beside them. "Has Yuki been near any unusual plants? Something that looks like moss? It would be bright green, almost neon?"
Cat looked up to see everyone in the room exchange uneasy glances .
"It's called lichen and it's very toxic." Deaton continued. "I need to know if Yuki's consumed any?"
"If he has the poison, then just treat him." Ikeda carefully said.
"Not without knowing the species, I need a sample."
Ikeda stood up and for the first time, Cat noticed he carried a gun but she didn't react, her hand still petting the paralyzed wolf.
"It's in the garden." The mob boss told them before commanding one of his people to take him.
The man looked away, clearly not wanting to do it and Ikeda looked at the rest of his men, who avoided eye contact with him. Ikeda began yelling in Japanese, waving his gun around and Cat cautiously stood up, ready to react at a moment's notice but Deaton shot her a quick glance, telling her not to do anything rash. She only slightly relaxed as Ikeda turned and walked past them, motioning for them to follow.
"Superstitious idiots." He grumbled, walking out the door.
Cat motioned for Deaton to go first and she dutifully followed after the vet and the mob boss outside and into a garden near the back. She watched Ikeda grow more and more tense as they neared the door and he unlocked it with a key. He entered first, constantly looking around and Cat almost balked at entering herself, the place feeling unnatural and evil. Deaton glanced back at her once more, conveying with his eyes that they would be alright as he stepped inside.
"Is this what you're looking for?" Ikeda asked, motioning towards a fountain in the middle, bright green moss growing on it.
Deaton motioned for Cat to stay back as he stepped further inside, looking at the fountain. He put down his bag, pulling out a small jar and asking Ikeda to take it. The mob boss did so without question as Deaton pulled out some scissors and began cutting.
"You really think Yuki got in here and ate this stuff?" Ikeda asked.
"Actually," The vet began, while concentrating on his work. "I don't think Yuki comes anywhere near here."
Cat tensed at this confession before she took a few quiet steps closer, her hand reaching into the waistband of her jeans and grasping her gun.
"I doubt you could even drag him in. Some part of him senses what happened in here, to your father and the Nogitsune possessing him."
Ikeda lifted his gun, removing the safety as he pointed it at Deaton's head. Cat's reflexes were even faster, the gun already out of her jeans and pointed at Ikeda. She removed her safety, alerting Ikeda to the fact that she was armed and she saw his eyes roll towards her with a small grimace but didn't lower his gun. For his part, Deaton didn't react, continuing on with his explanation.
"This particular lichen is called Letharia Vulpina." The vet informed them. "Wolf Lichen. They used it to poison wolves and foxes. They put out pieces of meat with crushed glass and bits of lichen in it. The glass perforated the intestines of the animal so the Vulpinic acid could reach the intestines faster."
"What did you do to my wolf?" Ikeda demanded.
"Well I didn't poison him with lichen, but I did give him a powerful paralytic agent. Same one I put on that jar."
Ikeda looked at the jar in his hand as his limbs began to shake and he dropped his gun.
"Kanima." He whispered, causing Cat to look at him in surprise that he knew that name.
She lowered the gun as he fell to the ground, paralyzed. Deaton turned around and leaned over to grab the jar from the fallen mob boss, opening it and dropping the lichen into it.
"Born out of the blood of the Nogitsune, this lichen is quite special. More powerful than you know."
"What-what are you going to use it for?" Ikeda stuttered.
Deaton stood up, staring at the jar and the bright green moss inside it. "There's a fox hiding inside a teenage boy and I'm going to poison it." He looked at Cat who understood what he was asking and knelt beside the fallen man.
"This might knock me out again." Cat warned him. "I don't think I'm recovered from the last one."
"What are you going to do to me?" Ikeda asked.
Cat didn't answer, instead, grabbing his head and pushing the story into him that Deaton related to her. The vet had gotten the sample and they had let themselves out, promising to call. Ikeda had tripped, fallen, and passed out. His paralysis would be no more than a dream. When Cat pulled away, she stood up, stumbling into Deaton, who grabbed her arm to steady her.
"I've put visions into peoples heads but I've never planted thoughts, or changed people's memories." She murmured. "What if it doesn't work?"
"It worked on one of his lackey's, just as I thought it would. I have no doubt it will work on Ikeda as well."
She nodded as they slowly walked around the side of the house and to the front, Deaton speaking quietly to the guards before they both got in his car and drove away.
"What now?" She asked.
He glanced at her as he pulled out onto the main road. "Now I make the poison and inject it into Stiles."
"Will it harm him?"
"No but it will keep the Nogitsune at bay for the time being."
"That's good." She muttered, yawning before she closed her eyes and leaned her head against the window.
She knew Deaton continued speaking but she was already too far gone to hear anymore.
… … …
They had arrived back in Beacon Hills in time for Deaton to drop Cat off at school, promising to call her when he knew more. She waved at him, just wanting to go home and go to sleep, or hell even to the hospital to see Isaac, maybe even get some different clothes to change into. When had she changed her clothes last? When had she even showered? It must've been the morning that Isaac had been electrocuted. First stop would have to be at her locker in hopes of having some clothes in there.
The halls were empty as she hurried to her locker and found only a pair of leggings in there. She made a face and pulled them out before a thought struck her and she moved down the hall towards Isaac's locker and opened it up, rummaging through it until she found a shirt. She pulled out a white shirt of Isaac's and held it to her face, not wanting to cry as she breathed in his scent. She shouldn't be here, she should be at the hospital, with him, even if it was Allison he wanted there. She closed the locker, putting the shirt into the bag and turned to leave when she saw Scott and the twins running past her.
"What's going on?" She asked.
No one answered her and she followed after them and to the steps leading to the basement. Cat could hear it now, one of the Argent's omitters. When they reached the bottom, they all looked towards the left to see Stiles' silhouette. His back to them as he held one of those omitters. He slowly turned towards them, his hands held up in surrender.
"I know what you guys are thinking but it's me, I swear to god it's me."
In front of her, the twins wolfed out and ran at him and Cat grabbed Scott's arm, unsure whether to believe him or not.
"Cat?" He asked, wondering if she knew Stiles was being truthful.
She shrugged and he pulled away, running forward and yelling at the twins, who had Stiles up against the wall, to stop. When they ignored him, Scott grabbed one twin and threw him back, going for the other, who turned on him with a ferocious growl. Scott responded with his own growl and Aiden, the one who had challenged him, released Stiles, who fell to the floor, and stepped back in submission. Cat ran forward and grabbed the fallen teen, helping him to his feet as Scott turned to stare hard at him.
"Scott, Cat, it's me. I swear it's me. Cat, you can tell it's me, right? I don't know where I've been the last two days or what I've been doing but this is me, I promise"
Cat could only shrug. "As far as I can tell, it's him but that really means nothing right now." She stopped, her brow furrowing in confusion. "Hold on, two days? It's been two days? I had no idea I've been gone that long."
Scott shot her a look of surprise. "Where have you been? I thought you and Allison were taking turns at the hospital?"
Cat shook her head, shooting Stiles an uneasy glance. "It doesn't matter, we need to focus on Stiles."
"Do you know what happened at the hospital?" Ethan cut in.
Stiles gaze drifted to him briefly before looking back at Scott. "I know more than that." He pushed past them and knelt beside a duffel bag, pulling out some blueprints and opening it up. "You see this? It's a blueprint of the electrical wiring at the hospital. You see all these markings in red? That's my handwriting."
Scott and the twins knelt down in front of him to take a closer look.
"I know I did this, I caused the accident. Everything in this bag is stuff for something bigger."
Ethan reached into the bag and pulled out a small saw. "What the hell have you been up to?"
"I think something worse, a lot worse." Stiles replied.
Cat clenched her fists in frustration, angry that she couldn't tell more. She hated this Nogitsune, she hated all these supposed bad guys that showed up and always knew how to block Seer's out. Was there some fricking handbook all villian's were given that said how to block a Seer?
Scott picked the bag up and put it on a table as everyone began to look through it.
"What the hell were you building?" Aiden asked. "A terminator?"
"Thanks for that." Was Stiles sarcastic reply.
Scott pulled out a map. "Guys, it's a map."
Cat peered at it with a frown. "Isn't that the cross country trail?" She followed the pen line on the map. "Isn't that where the Tate's car was? Where he put out all those steel traps?"
Everyone glanced at each other with wide eyes, Cat voicing the one thing they were all thinking.
"Stiles, what did you do?"
