Chapter 44

For them, I cannot lose

Lucina and Morgan continued walking to the barracks. They were going to meet up with Chrom and Lissa to try and travel out to a certain field. A field in which Chrom had first met the tactician for the first time over three years ago. "Lissa! Cynthia! Hey!" Morgan yelled out as she saw the cleric and pegasus knight sitting down on chairs.

Lissa got up from her seat and smiled as she saw the girl rushing at her. "Woah! Don't run too fast! Nearly toppled me over." Lissa laughed.

Cynthia looked at the girl with a grin. "We meet once again, tactician genius." She said happily.

"Good seeing you too, knight of the sky." Morgan replied back as she jokingly bowed.

Lucina walked behind her daughter as she greeted the pegasus knight. "It's nice to see you once again, sister." Lucina said as she hugged Cynthia.

"Yeah, it's really been a while. At least for me." She laughed.

Morgan looked at the pegasus knight carefully. "Hmm, why do you seem older for some reason? You been working out or something?"

Not only this, but Lucina noticed a peculiar ring on her hand. "And... you're engaged as well?" She asked, surprised.

"Let's just say I might've gone on another heroic adventure alongside Owain, Severa, and Inigo." Cynthia replied. "And well… Inigo and I decided that we wanted to get married." She said with a blush.

"Are you for real?!" Morgan said surprised.

"Another heroic adventure?" Lucina asked.

"It's a long story. We sort of went to another world and helped out a prince reunite two kingdoms. It was kinda difficult, but we managed to succeed as always. I wanted to tell you, but I felt that if I did, you'd just jump at me and try to tag along. I didn't want you to fight anymore than you have to." Cynthia responded.

"I'm more than capable of fighting." Lucina said to her with a stern expression.

"I know, Lucina. I know you. If I told you, you wouldn't have thought twice about following us and trying to help us out. I appreciate everything you've done for me sis, but I don't want to be somebody you worry about forever." She said with a caring smile.

Lucina looked at her sister. She was a little bit taller and seemed more mature, but the face of determination she showed her in the past continued to remain just as strong. "You've really grown, haven't you." Lucina said with a smile.

Cynthia smiled back. "I'm glad to hear that from you."

Chrom walked into the barracks alongside Sumia. "Huh, looks like everyone's here. Told you it wouldn't take too long." He said to the blonde cleric.

"Last thing I remember was you complaining about ME taking long. You and Sumia took longer than Morgan of all people!" Lissa exclaimed.

"Yeah! What she said!" Morgan said with a nod of approval.

Sumia laughed. "Forgive us. We were a little bit sidetracked with Lucina. Well, the baby Lucina."

"Oh man, that reminds me! I really need to check in with her! Haven't visited her in like a week!" Morgan exclaimed.

"Let's do that when we come back. We're already a bit late as is." Chrom said to the girl with a chuckle.

"Fine. Let's get a move on then. I'm sure we've got a decent trip to make." Morgan said as she smiled.

They walked onwards to the outside of the castle. They had to find a way to make it there quickly, and decided upon using Pegasi to get to their location. They were greeted by a familiar redheaded pegasus knight as three pegasi stood next to her calmly as they awaited for any orders. "I see everybody is ready to leave." Cordelia said with a smile.

"Yup! In record time too." Lissa responded.

"Alright then. I've readied your pegasi right here. I also have my pegasus knights ready to escort you to your location as well." Cordelia said.

"Thank you, Cordelia. But I think we're fine regarding an escort. We're not really gonna be in much danger." Sumia said to her friend.

"Are you certain? It's still our job to protect the Exalt and members of the royal family." She said to the group.

"Trust me, there's no need. We'll be back before anyone even notices." Lissa said.

Cordelia looked at the group and sighed. "Alright then. You'll have about an hour before the others notice you've left. Please be careful out there." She said with a worried expression.

"We'll be fine. I promise you." Sumia said to her friend with a smile.

The group readied themselves to leave. Sumia looked at her dark pegasus as she groomed it. "It's been some time, hasn't it?" She said.

The majestic creature neighed as it stood calm in her arms. Chrom walked towards her. "It's injuries are completely healed. I wonder how pumped he must be to finally start flying again."

The pegasus neighed once more as it readied to take off. "He's getting impatient just like Lissa." Morgan joked.

"Oh haha." Lissa said sarcastically as she got on a pegasus of her own. "Do your best, alright?" Lissa said with a smile as she patted the pegasus' head.

"Oh right, I nearly forgot you had a pegasus too." Morgan said, surprised.

"I might've not had that much experience, but I'm definitely more than capable enough of riding one." Lissa said to her.

"You could say that again. You really helped out a bunch during some of our battles back in the day." Morgan complimented.

"Okay fine, I was actually pretty good." Lissa said with a smug grin.

Cynthia looked at the two as she joined in the conversation. "Don't let that get to you head, aunt Lissa. Mom and I pretty good too."

"Woah woah, let's calm down with the competition. I'm not really trying to do some loops up there." Chrom said to the group.

"Okay, we'll settle this when we get back." Lissa said to the young pegasus knight.

"You're on, aunt Lissa." Cynthia said with a smile. She then looked at Morgan. "Hey, you want to ride along with me?" She asked.

"Only if you promise that you'll do some tricks up in the skies." Morgan said with a grin.

"That's like asking if water is wet. Let's do this!" Cynthia said excitedly.

"Then that leaves me and you Lucy." Lissa said with a smile. "I promise I won't be all that fancy. I know you and Chrom aren't that fond of all these aerial tricks."

"I'd appreciate it, thank you." Lucina said with a smile.

The small group had all prepared themselves to head out to the outskirts of Ylisstol. Six members of the Ylissean family all headed to the place where it all began. The place where they had met the tactician that helped change the world. They all strapped on their mounts and readied to head out.

Morgan looked downwards at the ground as the pegasus began to ascend into the air. They slowly rose up into the air, and suddenly thrusted forwards as Cynthia commanded. The young tactician continued to look on as the castle behind her seemed to get smaller, as well as the city below them. "I'll never get tired of looking at this sight." Morgan said to her in awe.

"It's always an exhilarating experience. No matter where I am, I still think Ylisstol is the most beautiful place ever." Cynthia said as she looked at the sight with her friend.

Morgan continued staring. She remembered her old life. The life she lived before she came into this world. It was one where darkness consumed nearly everything. A world where people didn't know whether or not being alive was a luxury or a curse. The castle back in her time was extremely worn down and barely even stood. Seeing that same castle stand high and mighty was a blessing. "I think so too. Let's do our best to make sure we keep this place safe, alright?"

"I thought we were doing that already." Cynthia said with a smile.

"I suppose we are." Morgan replied back happily.

They continued to soar high up in the sky. Morgan looked at the land below as the pegasus continued to move forwards. A bright blue sky with not a single threat in sight. It was a world that she was glad to live in. At the same time though, the only reason life was like this was because of one person's sacrifice. The Robin of this world had decided to take a sacrifice that the Robin of her world didn't take. He gave up his life to ensure the world isn't threatened by the Fell dragon ever again. A decision that she was kept in the dark about. She began to remember that day. The day in which it was all decided. The final battle with Grima.

Morgan weakly woke up from her sleep. She groaned as she slowly raised her hands to the air and yawned loudly. "Man… that was a good night of rest if I'd say so myself, how about you guys?" She didn't hear a single response. She rubbed her eyes and tried looking around. She was the only person in the tent. Huh, that's weird…

She peeked outside of the tent and noticed the sun barely start rising. It was odd that her parents were up this early. She knew her mother was the type of person who would get up early to prepare for battle, but this was a bit excessive. Not only this, but her father as well? Where the heck are these guys? She decided she would go search for them and got dressed. She put on her boots and grabbed ahold of her tactician robes. She headed outside and began to search for the two.

She began to think about the many possibilities of where they might've been. Perhaps they were working on some tactics together? It would've been really rude to exclude her from that though. Maybe they were just on an early date? At a time like this though, it was definitely unlikely. Maybe they got kidnapped by some risen? Gods I seriously can't figure this out.

She then saw two figures approach the camp. Morgan brought out an Elthunder tome as she readied to strike at them. "Hey! Show yourselves!" She yelled out.

"Peace, Morgan. It's just us." Robin said as he walked towards her with the princess.

"Father? And mother? What the heck is up with you? First ditching me yesterday and now going who knows where with mother? Is there anything I should know?" Morgan asked. She looked at the two with a bothered expression. It felt like something was off, but she couldn't quite figure it out.

"Sorry, I was a little bit out of it this morning." Lucina said to the girl.

"Oh, I see. I'm guessing you got up early since you couldn't sleep." Morgan said to her. She then looked at the tactician. "Then you got up and noticed mother wasn't here so you tried to find her and calm her down. That's what happened right?" Morgan concluded.

"You have a knack for figuring things out, don't you?" Robin said with a smile.

"Detective Morgan has a pretty good record, if I'd say so myself." She said with a grin. "But still though, you shouldn't be so concerned, mother. It may seem a bit difficult, but I know in the end, it's all gonna be alright. We'll get through this and live happily ever after as we always said we would. We're gonna succeed for sure." Morgan said optimistically.

Lucina looked at the girl. She seemed very hopeful about the situation at hand. Still, it was hard to try and remain optimistic, especially after what she had heard from Robin himself. Regardless, they promised to keep this to themselves. They couldn't let Morgan or anybody else find out. "T-thank you, Morgan. I'll try to remain more optimistic from here on out."

Morgan simply smiled as she walked to her mother. "I know you're still feeling a bit uneasy. It can be hard sometimes to stay calm. I know that feeling a lot. But whenever I'm with you or father, I remember things will turn out alright. So, let's stick together as a family. Some stupid dragon won't be enough to separate our bond. We'll show him what the Ylissean family-through-time can do together." Morgan said with a bright optimistic smile.

Lucina looked at her daughter as she tried making the mood more happy. She didn't know how to feel. She couldn't tell her the truth. She had to keep this act up, as difficult as it was. "Yes… We will succeed together."

The three walked back to the camp. They had to ready themselves for the day. This was it. The final confrontation against Grima would take place, and they had to be ready. Morgan walked into the tent and reached into a particular drawer. Robin looked at her as she looked for something. "Looking for anything in particular?" He asked her.

Morgan brought out a tome. "Ah, here it is! Still looks brand new too." She said happily. Lucina looked at the tome and inspected it. "Book of Naga? This is must be a replica, right?" She asked, a bit surprised.

Morgan wagged her finger. "Nope. Turns out that the bathrealms had more than just replicas for sale. One of the Annas just gave it to me. She said it was her thanks for you two buying some stuff there apparently."

"That explains it I guess. Still, you can't be certain it's not a replica. I mean, it's said that only those with major Naga holy blood were able to wield it." Robin said once more. He had read stories about the heroes who lived before the Hero-King Marth. The book of Naga was said to be one of the most powerful tomes of all of history. There was no way this was that same tome.

"You have to trust me on this. I tested it out a few nights ago, and let me tell you, it's power is legit." Morgan said with a grin. She looked at both her parents. "I'll prove it later today then. Just watch me show that dragon who's boss." She said with a grin.

"I hope you're telling the truth then. I'm in a mood for fireworks." Robin said with a grin of his own.

Lucina looked at the two once again. Morgan always emitted this aura of positivity around her even in the most dire of situations. It was a great trait to have, but the fact that she was keeping a secret from her made the princess feel much worse. Seeing her so happy when she knew what Robin was going to do. It felt wrong, but she had no choice. "I believe we're ready, correct?" Lucina said to the two.

"Yup. Let's get a move on. We have a heck of a day ahead of us."

Robin walked alongside his family. They were on their way once more to speak to Naga. She had assisted with performing the Awakening, and now she was going to send them off to fight Grima at last. They entered the temple, and were promptly met with the divine dragon once more. "You have returned once more, Exalt. Are you ready to face him at last? Once you are there, I will no longer be able to assist you." Naga said to the group.

Chrom looked at the divine dragon. "We're as ready as we'll ever be, Milady." He said to her.

Naga looked at the group once more. She stared at the tactician who stood next to Chrom. "Fellblood, have you made your decision?" She said.

Robin looked back at the divine being. "Yes. I have."

"Remember, only you are able to rid of Grima forever. If any of the Exalted land the final blow, he will only be sealed as he was thousands of years ago." She said to him.

"Yeah, we've established that already." Morgan said, slightly annoyed. She then looked at her father as he looked to be in thought. "Dad? You aren't actually thinking of doing this, are you?"

Chrom turned around to look at his friend. "Don't even think about it. We'll find another way after the fact, alright? We're two halves of a greater whole. I know we'll be able to find another way."

Robin looked at his friend. As much as he hated to be lying, he felt that he had to. Otherwise, it would definitely be likely that Chrom would take no chances in trying to land the final blow himself. "You're right. We can find another way."

Chrom smiled. "As I thought." He then looked on at the divine dragon in front of them. "Naga. I believe we're ready."

"I see. Then prepare yourselves. Grima's weakest point is on his back, but he will still have many under has command. His forces will not stop until he is defeated, so do not waste any time." She said as she aimed her hands at the group. "Good luck, brave shepherds."

Morgan felt a similar strange sensation once more. Similar to the feeling she felt when she was in the outrealm gate. Looks like we're being teleported. The group all disappeared rapidly one by one. There was no turning back from here on out. This was their final fight at last.

A bright light flashed, and all of a sudden, a darkness consumed the sky. A loud roar could be heard in the distance, as well as the feeling of extreme winds. Robin stared onwards. This was Grima's back.

Morgan looked around. It all felt extremely eerie. Not only that, but it also felt very suspicious. There wasn't a single risen in sight. It was as if they were being expected. She shook her head. She had to place faith in her father. He knew what he was doing.

Robin evaluated the scene and began to speak. "It looks like he hasn't noticed us yet. Let's move on a bit forwards to-"

"And here you finally are. I was wondering why you were taking so long." A voice said within the empty air.

The shepherds looked around to find where the voice was coming from. Again, seemingly nothing. Suddenly, a burst of darkness emitted from the ground as a man was formed from the dark energy. The man was wearing a familiar hood and shared the face of their trustworthy tactician, but deep inside, he was a completely different man. He took off his hood where his face now revealed Grimleal markings, as well as the pupils in his eyes now apappearing blood red. "You know, I'm surprised Naga teleported your group here. I didn't think she was the type to assist in suicide." He said with a maniacal laugh.

"This all ends here Grima! There's nothing you can do to stop us!" Chrom yelled out to him.

"Oh? My dear Chrom. I really enjoyed your naivety. It's a damn shame I'll have to see the life exit from your eyes once more. I have to admit one thing though, and that's that your stupidity has amused me a lot." Grima said, laughing once more.

"The only one ravishing in his own stupidity is you, monster! You will not destroy this world as you did mine, and I'm going to make sure of it!" Lucina yelled out to him.

Grima shook his head. "You're the one that travelled back in time. I simply came here to fix what you had tried to change. You are responsible for this, princess."

"She's going to responsible for putting you back into your place! Don't underestimate us you damned piece of garbage!" Morgan yelled out.

Grima looked at the girl and sighed. "I was hoping Chrom's stupidity was a one time thing, but it seems it runs in the family. It doesn't matter. Let's get this over with, shall we?" He said, showing an eerie smile.

Robin looked at the terrain. There was a great deal of space to use, and it seemed as if his doppelganger was ready to take them all on at once. He prepared to give out orders and-

A sudden force of pressure could be felt on everybody as it consumed the group. "What… the hell?!" Chrom yelled out in pain. A force that felt like dark magic consumed the group. It completely overwhelmed everybody regardless of their resistance. Robin tried lifting himself up as he looked at Lucina and Morgan struggle to stand up. "Gods…. No…" Lucina said weakly as she tried to keep herself up.

"How… is he doing this…" Morgan said as she lied on the ground. Robin looked at the area. It seemed that wherever they were, it was meant to completely overwhelm them and weaken them to a crippling point. Grima slowly walked forwards as he began to laugh. "HAHAHAHAHAH! AND YOU TELL ME YOUR SO CALLED BONDS WILL BREAK YOU OUT OF THIS?! ITS OVER, TACTICIAN. YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS DIE HERE!"

Grima walked over Robin as he stood on the ground. He violently kicked him as he laughed once more. "NOW TELL ME! HOW ARE YOU GETTING OUT OF THIS, TACTICIAN OF YLISSE?!"

Morgan looked at her father as he struggled to withstand the many strikes. "S-stop it… Stop hurting him…" She said as she weakly swung her sword towards the monster. The sword missed its target completely as Morgan laid on the ground again.

Grima stopped attacking the tactician and looked at the young girl with curiosity. He walked up to the blue haired tactician. "Hmm… I'm going to make you an offer. Serve me. Serve me, and I will spare your life." He said menacingly.

Morgan did her best to remain conscious. The immense pressure she felt was overbearing. But she has to do something to save them. Anything. "N-no… Sp-spare their lives… instead." She said weakly.

Grima smiled as he heard her words. "Then I'll change my conditions. You will serve me, and I will spare the lives of your parents." He said with a menacing grin.

"I… accept." Morgan said weakly. Grima began to laugh as he grabbed the girl by her hood. He placed his hand on her head as he began to chant out incantations. Morgan yelled out in pain as the fell dragon continued with his spell. The pressure she felt was disturbing. It was going to make her either pass out or die, whichever came first. "Help me… anybody… please…." She said as she continued to grunt in pain.

"Morgan… no… please… stop this…" Robin said as he tried to crawl towards her. He couldn't let this continue on. Whatever it was that Grima was doing, he couldn't just let him do it. Morgan was suffering. He had to do something, anything to help. But he couldn't. He was forced to watch.

"Your child is mine now, tactician. This world will be witness to my power once more! I am the wings of despair! I am the breath of ruin! I. Am. Gri-"

"You won't… stop me…" Lucina said as she struck at his back. A large portion of his back was wounded as he dropped the girl in front of him. "ARGHRGH!" He yelled out.

Lucina did her best to continue standing, but felt the immense pressure continue to get stronger. She dropped down to her knees. Grima looked as the princess fell down. He slowly walked towards her. "The wretched child of Chrom… Your daughter promised me to keep you safe in exchange for her service. It seems like the deal is off the table." He said, angered.

"I won't… let that happen." Lucina said as she tried to stand up once again. Whatever this magic was, it seemed to get stronger with time. It seemed to continually get stronger and stronger for whatever reason.

Grima looked at the princess. "You're the reason why all of your friends are dead. You destroyed this world." He said as he grabbed her by the neck. "YOU BROUGHT THIS UPON YOURSELF, PRINCESS!"

Lucina tried to break out, but it wasn't any use. Grima held her throat tightly as she struggled to breathe. She was losing consciousness fast. "N-no…" She said, barely making out her word.

"THERE IS NO USE IN STRUGGLING! DIE!" He said as he began to grip even tighter.

Lucina's eyes slowly began to close. She wasn't going to last any longer. She felt her arms grow weaker as her grip on her sword loosened. Eventually, she dropped her sword entirely. She looked around one last time. Everything seemed blurry, but she saw a figure stand up. A man with snow white hair.

"You kill her… and I'll kill myself…" Robin said as he got on his feet.

Grima looked at the tactician with great intrigue. He let go of the princess as she dropped to the ground. She coughed and struggled to breathe, but still remained conscious.

"You need me… you can't… reach your full power without me." Robin said to him.

"You act as if I'm not aware of that." Grima said, looking annoyed. "So what are you planning to do?"

"Let them all go… let them live, and I'll give myself up to you." Robin said.

Grima eerily smiled once more. "You have my word."

"Robin… Don't…" Lucina said weakly as she tried crawling towards him.

Grima stood next to the tactician. He aimed his hand up into the air as a darkness consumed them. The energy spun around them and eventually, they just vanished out of thin air.

Morgan opened her eyes as she felt a more comforting sensation. She looked around and noticed Lissa use a particular stave. A fortify stave to heal up everybody around her. "Tharja, Henry… Try to reverse this curse somehow." She said weakly.

Maribelle rushed to the blonde girl. "Keep calm dear." She said as she aimed a stave at her.

Morgan slowly got up from the floor. Her head was in a bit of pain, but nothing she couldn't handle at least. She looked around as a majority of the shepherds all tried their best to keep themselves up. They were fighting against that spell temporarily, and it was only a matter of time before they were all overwhelmed once more. She then remembered something. "Where's father?"

Lucina looked at where the tactician was last standing. There wasn't a single trace as to where he went. "Grima took him. I don't know where, but he has him." She said with an angered expression.

"We can't let that damned monster get away with this. He's done too much. I refuse to lose Robin to him!" Chrom yelled out. He flinched slightly as he felt a familiar pressure come over him again. "Gods, are you serious?"

"This curse is beyond our control. I've never seen anything like this." Tharja said as she looked angered.

"Grima REALLY wants us all dead haha..." Henry said with a weak laugh. "We can't break the curse unless we escape from here."

"That's not really an option here." Morgan said with a sigh.

You must believe in him. He is the key to winning...

Morgan looked around. Nobody seemed to have heard this.

Grima has placed himself in a vulnerable position. I will assist you one last time, but you will need the tactician to succeed...

"Naga?" Morgan asked.

Lucina looked at her with intrigue. "Is something happening, Morgan?" She asked. She then heard a voice.

Believe in the tactician. The man you love. Your bond is one that can never be broken. Use that tie to bring him back...

The princess looked at her daughter with a surprised expression. "Naga…"

A blue haired pegasus knight approached the two. "Wait, so I'm not crazy? You guys heard that too, right?"

Chrom walked up to the group. "I'm certain you three heard her as well." He said with a determined smile. "Let's tell everybody else."

"We need to get father out of there." Morgan said to them. She ran up to the center of the shepherds and began to speak. "Everybody, we have to call out for father! Grima's trying to take over his body, but we can't let that happen! I know my father is still there, so please, help me call for him!" She said to the group.

The shepherds looked at her with confusion. "Um, how do we do that?" Owain asked.

Chrom walked up to the spot where Robin had vanished from. He kneeled down and began to speak. "Don't give up just yet, friend. You can break out of it. I know you can. You're not the type to let things end like this." Chrom said with a determined expression. "So fight it! We believe in you!"

Morgan remembered that day. It was one in which they had faced very unfavorable odds. They lost their tactician and were on the verge of defeat. Still though, they managed to get out of that fight with a victory.

"Hey Morgan? You doing alright there?" Cynthia asked.

"Huh? Oh, yeah. I'm fine. I'm just reminiscing a little." Morgan responded back. She was still flying up in the air as they travelled to their location. "That last battle we had… It really was something huh?" She asked.

Cynthia looked at her friend as she thought of the words to say. "It was a day that taught me what a true hero fought for. Not for glory or respect. But to protect the people they love." She said to her.

"Yeah… Father loved mom and I a bunch. I think he'd feel guilty if Grima only ended up being sealed. I understand it, I really do. It doesn't make it hurt any less though." Morgan said with a sigh.

"Hey, let's not be so mopey. He has to return someday, right? I know that day is coming soon. We just need to place faith in him. No matter how many times we feel sad or miss him, we need to remember that he's still out there trying to come back. He'll return to us. He promised you and Lucy after all." Cynthia said as she looked at her friend with a smile.

Morgan looked at Cynthia and smiled back. "Yeah. I gotta keep on believing. No matter how sad or hopeless it feels, I just gotta remember he'll return soon. We'll give him a heck of a welcoming party when that day comes, alright?" Morgan said with a grin.

"I'd want to scold him first, then celebrate." Cynthia laughed. "How about we prank him to our heart's content?"

"Oh man! You've got a point! I'll prank him for making me wait this long. That's the first thing I'll do for sure when we see him again." Morgan said with a hyped up expression.

The two continued flying in the air as they headed towards their location. They were on their way to the field in which it all began alongside other members of her family. Chrom had met Robin over three years ago there for the first time. But it was also a full year since the they had last seen the tactician. One year exactly in which Robin had given up his life...

A year… huh...

Robin remained still in the darkness. He hadn't known how long he had been there. It could've been hours, days, weeks or even years. Time seemed to flow very differently in this void. He moved his arms and legs. He could feel them easily, but he still couldn't see anything. It was just odd. He tried blinking over and over again, and yet, he still only saw darkness. Still, this was much better than before when he couldn't feel a thing. He was close. He could feel it. This darkness reminded him of one particular instance. The last fight against Grima. The darkness and helplessness was all so familiar to when Grima tried to take over his body. He began to remember the final battle against Grima. One of his last memories before his life would be forfeit.

Robin stood in darkness. He couldn't feel anything or do anything. It was just completely black. He tried to run, but couldn't feel his legs. He tried to use a spell, but couldn't use his arms. It was nothingness. He then saw that same doppelganger appear in front of him at last. "You still refuse to give in to me despite what you said?" Grima asked, annoyed.

The tactician didn't respond.

"Such resolve. Let me guess, you still believe your bonds will let you defeat me?" He tauntingly asked.

No response once more.

Grima looked at the man with an annoyed face. "You made a deal, tactician. Your body in exchange for the safety of your shepherds. Why don't you try to uphold it?"

Not a single word again.

"I WILL NOT HESITATE TO KILL THEM IF YOU REFUSE TO ANSWER ME! NOW MAKE UP YOUR MIND!" He roared out.

"I won't. I won't ever become what you are. Keep me in here forever if you'd like, but I have faith in them. They won't lose to you." Robin said to him.

Grima looked at the tactician and laughed once more. "MWAHAHA! DID YOU FEEL THAT CURSE EARLIER? IT WILL NOT GO AWAY AS LONG AS THEY LAY FOOT ON MY BODY! IF THEY'RE NOT DEAD YET, I WILL DISPOSE OF THEM MYSELF! YOU WILL CHANGE YOUR MIND AFTER THE FIRST ONE DIES, BUT I WILL NOT STOP! YOU'VE WASTED YOUR CHANCE! NOW STAY THERE AS-

Robin heard a faint sound. "...n't give up…

"...can break out it…"

"WHAT?! HOW ARE THEIR VOICES REACHING HERE?!"

"I was told you were one to make miracles. Make this another miracle for us!" Inigo's voice said.

"The heroic tactician of Ylisse isn't the type of person to give up. Come forth! Show this monster what you're made of!" Owain's voice said, hyped up.

"You're not going to give up. I wont ever forgive you if you just let it end here!" Severa's voice said, angered.

"I know you ain't giving up 'ere. I still got faith in ya, just like when you had faith in in me back in the farm." Donnel's voice said optimistically.

"You've done much for all of us throughout our long and harsh journey. We cannot let that all be for naught. Please, return to us!" Cordelia's voice said.

"After everything you've done with your family, you're letting it end here? Of course you're not! Come back and I'll guarantee you some crazy deals on some outrealm vacations!" Anna's voice said happily.

Grima looked at the tactician. "THIS DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING. YOU CANNOT ESCAPE FROM HE-"

Robin completely ignored the monster's voice. He heard more and more people try and call out for him.

"I know death is kinda cozy and all, but now's not the time for that, haha!" Henry's voice said positively.

"You have people you love, don't you? Hurry up and get to them… or else." Tharja's voice said, threateningly.

"You've got more fight in you. There's no way you'll let it all end here, right?" Gaius' voice said.

"The Robin I know wouldn't just stay there and watch! You can fight him, I know you can!" Ricken's voice said assuredly.

"A tactician must commit to his duties. Your duty is to assist us in defeating this wretched beast, so come to us once again!" Maribelle's voice said with certainty.

"I know you're still there Robin! We can't let it end here! Fight it with all your might!" Lissa's voice said, encouragingly.

"The brilliant tactician of Ylisse. He's the person who can make miracles out of dust! After getting to know you, I found out that wasn't just a myth! C'mon Robin! I believe in you!" Cynthia's voice said full of hope.

Robin's sight slowly began to see a light ahead of him. He couldn't make out what it was in front of him, but it seemed rather divine. He heard voices of his companions once again.

"We're two halves of one whole. I can tell that right now, you're still fighting off that damned monster. So push yourself! Let's show him that together, we can do anything! Even as far as to defeat gods!" Chrom's voice said with great motivation.

"You've been able to change the world for the better so many times already. I know you're able to do that once more! Please, return to us! I know you can do it!" Sumia's voice said with great hope.

The light in front of the tactician continued to grow brighter and brighter. Whatever it was, it seemed like it was something beneficial to him. He heard two more voices call for him.

"You promised me and mother that you would do anything to make sure we live a happy future. I know you meant that, dad. I want to live together like a family, and I know you can do that. So please, get up! Let's make that promise you made a reality!" Morgan's voice said cheerfully.

"We've been through much with one another, both as comrades, and as a couple. You've always been able to lift my spirits, even through the toughest of times. So I ask you to do this one more time. Robin, return to us so that we may put an end to this together!" Lucina's voice said with great determination.

Robin felt once more. He looked downwards and was able to see his body once more. He looked towards the light ahead of him where he saw his family wait for him. "Lucina! Morgan! I'm coming! Hold on, I'm on my way!"

"NO! YOU WILL NOT RETURN TO THEM! I WILL END ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS RIGHT HERE AND NOW! Grima yelled out.

Suddenly, the light that the tactician saw turned into a familiar figure. The divine dragon had returned once more. "Children of man! Rise once more, and face the Fell Dragon!" She yelled out. Robin felt his body finally return to him. Everything went white, until suddenly, he was back once more where he was before Grima had teleported him. He looked around where he saw the shepherds all prepared to fight.

"Father! I knew you could do it!" Morgan said as she rushed towards the tactician. Lucina followed behind as she looked at the tactician with a determined smile. "Let's finish this." She said to him.

Robin smiled back. "Right."

A/N: And here's part two! A few things happen with Morgan having access to an ancient tome, Grima being a scumbag and the present-day gang going to visit the field where they met Robin for the first time. I wonder what they're going to find there… It's obvious so just wait for me to just get the words out lol.

But yeah. I said I was doing three parts, but let's just make it four. The next two parts won't be that long but it makes the pace feel more bearable. It still feels kinda weird y'know. Forty-four chapters and like four years of writing on this one story. Part of me regrets not finishing this sooner, but I can't change that. The least I can do is just finish this thing off once and for all.

Next chapter I'll have done likely in a week just because I haven't even started, and I have a few midterms to take care of first. I've practically got the ending written in my head though, so writing it won't be difficult at all. Guess I'll catch you all later. Until then, have a good one!
