It was quite a long while, after being raised from the pond, that Jack had taken notice of something inexplicably strange.
Ever since he first saw it, it was full. A large, white, luminescent patch in the sky above. The moon was always full and glowing; a comfort when it was not behind a cloud or other such obscuration. But the longer he lived past that date, the more it seemed strange to him. He had heard the humans talk of how it was a "crescent" or "half moon" tonight. But the moon always looked like a circle to him, not a half circle or crescent shape. It always struck him as peculiar as to why this was, why the humans, for what he gathered, saw something completely different.
The moon wouldn't even tell him the answer to such a little, trivial question. Did it have better things to do with its time? Probably. Maybe. But an answer would be nice because it was kind of driving him nuts.
Finally, he arrived at a conclusion; he could only see it that way because he was the way he was. Because he was a "magical being" or something like that. Were he normal, he would see it the same way that those in the mortal world would.
He never really decided if this was an encouraging factoid or a depressing one.
AN/: Every single time the moon showed up, that I registered, it was full. So theory spew, as per usual.
Sorry I just wanted to write SOMETHING this month, and it's so frigging laaaaaaame but better than nothing so just TAKE IT
