Sincerely wishing you all well,
Kida-Asumi, the Captin of Sirius
A small group of three sat around a table in the office, papers scattered across the surface.
"Are you sure about this, L? It's a big investment." Yuuri mumbled as he looked over Watari's
proposal. L rolled his eyes, nibbling on one of Aiden's baby cookies. His nephew was in his arms, fascinated by Watari's mustache.
"I have never been so sure of something in my life, besides my wanting to bring justice to this world." L said solemnly. Watari smiled, pouring L more tea.
"Well then, I will begin the preparations. I assume you want certain people there?" He asked. L nodded, handing Aiden to Yuuri as he stood up.
"Very good. Now, if you will kindly let yourself out, Yuuri and I must make sure that Wataru and Hitomi have not burnt the house down while Kida, Kane, and Riki chat about their love lives." He said, heading for the stairs. Yuuri rolled his eyes, placing his nephew on his hip as he followed his almost eleven year old brother out of the room.
"Come on L. Wataru just turned 7. Besides, none of them have love lives." He added. L waved him off, entering the kitchen. Wataru was sitting at the table, coloring with Hitomi.
"The only ones who have love lives are Mom and Akina. Sasuke has a nightmare and Itachi has a stork child." He replied.
"L! Yuuri!" Hitomi yelled when she spotted them. L sat down next to her, taking the red crayon she offered.
"Hey 'Tomi. I'm going to let Kida know we have the kid." Yuuri added. His siblings nodded as he headed for the back porch.
"I'm so jealous." Kane sighed, leaning back in her chair and sipping on tea. Kida nodded.
"Me too. I'm happy for Katz, but with Ai now on my hip, I won't have any hope of a boyfriend until well into my college years." She sighed.
"Ouch Mommy, that hurt." Yuuri said as he exited the house. Kida beamed when she spotted her baby. She took him from her brother, pressing a kiss to his cheek. He smiled, giving her one back. Yuuri sat down next to Riki as Kane sighed wistfully.
"You know…Dan died a few years ago. Maybe I should get back in the game, so to speak." She said. Riki nodded.
"You should, sis. Most men find gray hairs unattractive." He teased. Kane scoffed, swatting at his knees as their younger siblings and nephew chuckled.
"Up yours, Riki. Oh wait, that's how you like it, isn't it?" She asked. Riki glared as Yuuri flinched.
"And this is where I make my exit. When we start talking about sex, I leave." Yuuri said, standing up. Riki laughed, leaning back against his chair. When Kida's phone beeped, she jumped. She pulled it out of her jacket pocket, then while resting her chin on the top of Aiden's head, she read the text message she received. Upon opening it, she laughed outright.
"Look at this, guys. Yuki bathing Yukio and Ren." She said.
"Un Yu!" Aiden babbled, reaching for the phone. Riki chuckled as Kane snorted.
"Is that Itachi in the reflection?" She asked. Kida squinted, and then nodded.
"Looks like it. Wonder why he's in there?" She wondered.
"Sasuke was with that," He paused, leaning over to cover Aiden's ears so he could say 'bitch', "at a doctor's appointment. She's been feeling fatigued." He said, rolling his eyes.
"Poor baby." His sisters deadpanned.
"So 'Tachi was probably in there in case Yuki need an extra set of hands, since 'Kina is due in less than three weeks." Kida summarized. Kane's eyes widened as she took in her pregnant sister's form from the mirror.
"Only three weeks away? Wow. Time sure does fly. Baby number three." She said, awed. Kida nodded.
"Her first away from home. God, Kane, I can't be there for his birth." Kida sighed, cuddling her baby close. Kane frowned, reaching out and gripping her hand.
"Ki…" She murmured. Riki reached out and gripped her other hand.
"Baby girl, let me tell you something. I missed the birth of my baby sister, and both of Akina's children. How about I take this baby's birth, and afterwards, you and I make a pact not to miss another?" He offered. Kida chuckled, pressing a kiss to the back of her happily babbling and drooling all over her phone baby boy and squeezed his hand.
"'Kay. Thanks so much Riki. You're the greatest." She said. He smiled.
"I thought I was the greatest, Ki." The foursome looked up as Oten walked up from the backyard. Kida frowned, confused.
"Oten, where have you been? I've not seen you in forever." She asked, concerned. He rolled his eyes.
"Our paths haven't been crossing. Let me see my nephew." He said, and before she could give her consent, he scooped up Aiden. Riki's eyes narrowed as he took in his brother's red eyes and tousled appearance.
"You know what we need to do some time, Oten? We need to get together with our little gang." Kida said, standing up. Oten nodded.
"Sounds like a good way to kill some time. Now I need food. Come on Ai, let's go raid the fridge." Oten said, cradling him in his arms. Aiden beamed, pleased with the attention. Kida rolled her eyes, following them inside.
"I'm making him lunch, you can make yourself your own." She huffed. Kane chuckled after them, though after seeing the look on Riki's, she stopped and frowned.
"What's wrong?" She asked softly. "Is it the guy you were with the other night? Or maybe I should say the other nights?" Kane questioned. Riki blushed, eyes widening.
"Oh. Oh, no Kane, it's not that. No, the guy…well, we'll discuss the guy some other time." Riki sighed. Yes, after his little 'excursion' as Iason called it, the two had started some kind of odd affair. It was nearly strictly physical, and all they did was have sex, but strangely enough, Riki was okay with this. Iason was a bit of fun, and the relationship was not serious.
Which is why his family did not know about it.
Kane nodded, taking his hand.
"Are you okay?" She asked. Riki sighed, nodding.
"I'm good. Let's make sure that Hitomi isn't being neglected." He said, standing. Kane nodded, worried at the change of subject. Making a mental note to bully Katze into telling her about this guy, Kane stood up and followed him inside.
"It's done, L. Here are the pictures." Watari said to L via their phone call as he sat in bed that night, Wataru curled up at his back. L nodded.
"Very good, Watari. I will contact you once I see them. Also, send me the next case tomorrow afternoon." He said softly, his hand running through his brother's hair. Watari murmured his agreement. After they hang up, L smiled.
"That a rare one." L's dark eyes snapped down to his baby brother. Wataru was staring at him sleepily.
"Go back to sleep." He murmured, brushing back his hair. Wataru nodded.
"Why the smile?" He asked. Insistent creature, L thought. Giving in, L laid down next to him.
"I'm opening an orphanage for gifted children." He said. Wataru gasped, sitting up.
"L, that's really great. What's its name?" Wataru asked. L chuckled, ruffling his hair.
"It's called Wammy's House."
A/N: So Wammy's is opened! Yay. Ah this fic is coming to a close, my loves. Two chapters and an epilogue and we're done ;)
