I woke in a white sterile room, my mind immediately flipped to Hammer. Hammer was dead though and...WILL. I jumped out of bed, realizing I had sweatpants and a SHIELD t-shirt on, and ran out of the room. A loud beeping noise came from my room, I ignored it as I ran through the hospital wing. A nurse tried to stop me, I barreled past her. I ran down the hall, glancing at the tags on the doors looking for Will.
A strong arm pulled me back. I spun around about to go commando at whoever stopped me. It was a random agent, his features distorted into Hannigan's and I kicked him in a highly compromising place. He crumpled and I slid out of his grip and continued running. I ran past every room;
Taylor, Mark
Cort, Meghan
Gordon, Bridget
Andrews, Martin
Until finally, I came across a door with a tag reading Matthew, William. I grabbed the knob and swung the door open, locking it behind me. I pressed my back against the door and gazed at Will's body. He was motionless except for the rising and falling of his chest. His face had been cleaned of the dirt and blood and his hair was back to the floppy mess it usually was. A heart monitor beeped constantly in the corner. I slowly walked toward Will and pulled a chair near his bed. I sat down numbly and stared into space. I already missed Will's presence, we were inseparable. When he woke up, if he ever did, he was definitely going to get a piece of my mind. I mean who tells you they love you and goes into a coma! This reminded me of when dad went missing. The though making my heart clench. Dad and I had been fighting before he went missing. I realized that a lot of things have been taken away from me. First, a mother I'll never know. My childhood, thanks to my old father(not Tony). Dad(Tony) went missing for three months. Now Will, possibly would not come back like dad did. To break myself out of my pity party I reached out and grabbed Will's hand. His hands were cold but Will's slender fingers felt familiar, giving me tingling feeling down my spine.
I glanced at the clock in the room, it was 1:30 in the afternoon. My sense of time was messed up, I don't know how long I slept. I softly placed Will's hand down on the bed and stood. Brushing his brown hair off his forehead, I longed for his eyes to open and see his green eyes which always held a glint, like dad often told me mine did. I missed his lopsided grin and British accented voice.
A banging on the door brought me out of my thoughts, making me tear my eyes away from Will's face and to the door, a much less nicer view.
"Agent Stark! Open the damn door!"
Fury.
I sighed but didn't respond. .
A few seconds passed.
"If the door is not opened in less the ten seconds we will break down the door."
I frowned and walked over to the door, waiting exactly ten seconds until swinging the door open.
"What do you want?" I said, my voice sounded rough and hoarse.
Maria Hill, a couple of agents, and a few nurses stood outside the door.
Hill spoke, "You left your hospital room."
"And I feel fine," I said.
"You weren't cleared," she said dryly.
I shrugged.
"You have to get back to you room," Hill said in a commanding tone.
"I'll be there in a minute," I said slamming the door in their faces. I walked back over to Will.
I stared at him for a second, "Don't you die on me." I bent down and placed a light kiss on his forehead.
I straightened and went back to the door, swinging it open. I stepped out and pulled it shut behind me. I pushed through the mob of agents and walked back to my room. The heavy footsteps of the agents behind me.
Once I reached my room I shut the swiftly shut the door behind me and got back into my bed. I realized, suddenly how cold I was and pulled a thin blanket around my shoulders. A nurse walked into my room.
"Ms. Stark, I am here to check on you."
"I don't need checked on," I grumbled.
The nurse grinned, "Yeah, okay. Do you want another blanket or food."
"Blanket, no food."
The nurse nodded and walked out.
I sighed and laid sideways in a ball. I was bored, there was nothing to do but think, something I was trying to avoid for now. I closed my eyes and attempted to clear my mind and calm down the way Natasha had taught me. Instead memories and waves of thoughts crashed over me.
I remembered my father's cold stare before he hurt me. The cold orphanage floors. The day I found out Tony had gone missing. The days Hammer beat me. Breathing in chloroform and staring helplessly into Obadiah's cold eyes. The cold wind at Hannigan's party, making me shiver. I felt Hannigan's hands roaming all over me, his lips touching and biting my neck. My hand subconsciously trailed over my neck until I hit two bruised, sore spots. The splitting silence shattered by the crack of a gun. My father's cruel laugh. Obadiah's cold stare. Hammer's guards hard slaps. Hannigan spluttering out, "How much does he matter to you now?". Blood trickling out of Will's mouth. Gun shot. Helicopter. "I love you."
I covered my ears and screamed, my eyes shot open. My screaming faded to hysterical sobbing and ragged breathing, leaving me with a headache. The same nurse from earlier scurried into my room.
"I heard a scream, are you alright."
I swallowed and tried to calm my breathing. The nurse must of got my message because she draped a heavy blanket over me before walking out of the room. I pulled blanket under my chin and rested my head on a pillow feeling very exhausted. My eyelids became heaving and my breathing slowed. I slowly drifted off to sleep, the wall of my room being the last thing I saw.
There we go! Hope you all loved it! I have another update for Saturday or Sunday!
