What's the record for the longest fanfiction? Maybe I could break that.

UPDATE: I have been informed that the longest fanfic is over 3.5 million words. I cannot break that.

Also, I love that a bunch of you actually looked that up to answer me. I may not have an amazing amount of readers, but I do have the best ones, and I wouldn't trade you guys for a thousand different ones.

But no, in all seriousness, you guys don't even understand how much more I have planned for this story. Its almost ridiculous. Thanks for staying with me!

Sollux laid awake on Aradia's couch for as long as he could, far too dizzy and drowsy to stand. Eventually, though, his body just gave in to his exhaustion, and he had soon passed out. He didn't dream, and he didn't regain consciousness until Eridan's voice danced through his mind. He decided to follow that, trying as hard as he could to make sure that Eridan's voice got louder and louder.

"You had no right to keep him here and leave me in the dark! You shoulda' called me!"

"Obviously he wanted to be here, Mr. Ampora. I am the one that he chose to come to."

"Obviously he has a concussion, Ms. Megido! He was confused and he wasn't thinkin' straight! Why the hell he came here is still a great question. And this is more of a fuckin' funeral home than an apartment, if you ask me."

"I was not asking you, nor is insulting me going to solve anything. If you would only tell me what could have happened, maybe I can provide some assistance-"

"Holy shit, do you always talk like you've got a fuckin' pole up your ass? Anyways, it's none of your fuckin' business what could have happened. He's my boyfriend, not yours."

"Relationship status or not, I care about him."

"Oh, yeah, you care about him. Is that why you dumped his ass just because your bitch of a friend told you that he might be "dangerous"? Because you cared about him that much? You don't even know what danger fuckin' is."

"It was not as simple as that, Eridan. Also, last I checked, she was more your friend than she ever was mine."

"Oh, c'mon, Megido! Everyone could tell that she hated my guts! And the only reason that Eq ever liked me was because I was rich and high class!"

"Rich, sure, but hardly high class. Nevertheless, I have never stopped caring for Sollux. Just because he is your boyfriend now does not mean that he cannot be my friend."

"Not unless I have somethin' to say about it!"

Sollux let out a soft sigh, one that held hardly more than a weak breath.

"Eridan, your sass is hurting my head," he mumbled, eyes fluttering open as the both of them turned to look at him.

Eridan basically gasped, Aradia no longer of any importance to him as he rushed over to the couch. He slipped his cute little ass onto the edge, scooping Sollux up into his arms. His fingers slipped into the back of Sollux's hair, his arms sliding around the Gemini as he leaned down and pressed a long kiss to Sollux's forehead. His minty breath was cold as ice on Sollux's skin, immediately making him shiver. It reminded him of an icy wind...

"Oh, Sol," he muttered, pulling the other as close as possible as he held him tight. Sollux merely cringed, hissing in pain from his side as Eridan yanked him close.

"Christ, Eri, could you tone it down a little? I'm a little injured-"

"Oh! Sol, I'm sorry, I was just-I didn't know what had happened to you, and I was afraid that you were going to be unconscious for a while and that I'd have to take you to a hospital. God, I'm just glad that you're alright," he managed, tripping over his words as he held the other protectively.

Sollux sighed. The reaction shouldn't have at all surprised him. Eridan freaked out if Sollux didn't text him before and after class, let alone disappearing for an entire night. Given the importance of Eridan's situation as well, Sollux's sudden disappearance must have been hell for the poor Ampora. Sollux allowed Eridan to hold him like a baby blanket, though an annoyance pricked at Sollux's heart.

He wouldn't be in this situation if it weren't for Eridan. This whole mob thing was Eridan's problem, not Sollux's. The fact that everything was being taken out on the Gemini and not on the Aquarius was absolute bullshit, and Sollux wasn't sure how much more of it he could handle. Hell, he was fucking shot by-

Oh, right. He couldn't remember for the life of him what had happened. He looked up at Eridan, as if his electric blue eyes held the answers. Eridan looked back down at him, dark eyebrows knitting together as he stroked Sollux's hair back and out of his face.

"What happened, Sol?" he whispered, his eyes jumping back and forth between Sollux's mismatched ones.

Sollux's gaze jumped to Aradia, who cocked an eyebrow at the two boys. Sol looked at her a moment before looking back at Eridan questioningly. He blinked, still recovering.

"The last thing I remember was you. You were stroking my hair," he began, receiving a nod from Eridan.

"That was at your parent's house, before you went into work. Did you-"

Eridan paused, glancing over at Aradia, who was still eyeing them both curiously. Eridan quickly scowled, making Sollux roll his eyes. Eridan just wasn't going to be decent with her.

"Do you mind? We're tryin' to have a conversation here," Eridan snapped. Aradia looked nearly appalled.

"You have got to be joking. It is my apartment!"

Sollux huffed, sliding out of Eridan's grasp. Eridan's harsh expression immediately relaxed into a worried one, looking down at Sollux's side as Sollux slowly rose to his feet. The Gemini cringed, but ignored the pain as he made his way across the room and over to Aradia. He looked down into her beautiful cognac eyes, smiling slightly before reaching up and pushing one of her curls out of her face.

"I'm sorry you had to put up with this. Thank you for looking out for me, though."

"I will always be here to look out for you, Sollux."

Eridan groaned in the background. Sollux shot him a look before returning to his conversation.

"I know, and I'm grateful. We'll be out of your hair soon, I promise. Could you just give us a couple of minutes?"

Her eyes darted to Eridan, who narrowed his eyes in her direction. Her full lips formed a thin line as she glared back sternly, looking at him a moment before looking back at Sollux. She nodded, always willing to be civil about things. She then turned, pulling all of her hair to one shoulder as she made her way out of the room. Sollux watched her leave before he turned, crossing his arms painfully over his chest as he looked at Eridan in disbelief.

"Your maturity is astounding sometimes, Eridan," he snapped, making Eridan's eyes widen as his jaw dropped.

"My maturity? What, am I not allowed to get a little defensive when a billion people are all over my boyfriend?" he snapped back, jealous voice rising as he motioned to where Aradia had exited. Sollux gave him yet another look of disbelief.

"Eridan, I am a nineteen year old computer hacker with two different colored eyes and a lisp. I think a 'billion people' is a little too kind for me, thank you though," the Captor snickered. Eridan shot up from his place on Aradia's couch, counting down on his fingers meaningfully.

"Aradia, my brother, Feferi-"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Do you really think that I am that likeable, Eridan? Why the hell you even like me is beyond me, but those three too? Aradia is my ex-girlfriend, alright? Ex. Feferi and I were close, but she is hardly all over me and we barely had any romantic feelings for one another. And, seriously? Your brother again? When the hell are you going to let it go…?"

"Let it go? How would you like it if he was hittin' on me and tryin' to get me in bed with him?" Eridan suggested.

The thought immediately brought a smile to Sollux's face and a chuckle to his throat.

"C'mon, Eridan. He's a creep, but he wouldn't go for his own brother."

It was barely a flicker, but Sollux caught an emotion that looked almost like shame in Eridan's eyes. The Aquarius glanced away, trying not to falter in front of his boyfriend. Sollux's eyes widened, a thick, heavy feeling sinking down into his stomach. There was no fucking way…

"Holy shit," Sollux muttered, stepping forward and towards Eridan, who merely shuffled nervously and scowled defensively at Sollux.

"What?" he nearly barked. Sollux's eyes widened further.

"Has Cronus...? Have you and your brother...?!"

"What! Fuck, Sol, no! It w-was just an- I w-was just tryin' ta'-"

Sollux's hands reached up, burying themselves in his hair as he looked at his stammering boyfriend. What the actual Christ? Is that why Eridan and Cronus had such a problem with each other? Were they-? Had they-? No, no. There was literally no way…

Eridan suddenly looked pissed.

"I w-would nev-ver, ev-ver-! No, Sollux, stop. Don't ev-ven think for a second that I w-would-! Just forget it, alright? I don't even wanna' think about this subject. Can we please just talk about what happened to you? You really scared the hell outta' me. I need to know what happened to you," he sputtered, his stuttering soon fading into concern and a desperate worry.

Sollux was still stuck on the previous subject. It made him almost sick to think about Cronus coming on to Eridan. Eridan being reluctant at first, but soon accepting out of his loneliness...

Sollux just needed to forget about it. The more he thought about it, the crazier he was going to feel. He shifted his mind over to his side, which he involuntarily reached down and covered. He bit his lip, looking down, and then looking back up at Eridan. The pain in Eridan's eyes hurt almost more than the pain from his abdomen. Sollux sighed.

"Eridan, I don't even remember going to work. I'm exhausted, I'm dizzy, I feel like it's been months since I was last awake-"

"I know, Sol. You have a concussion," Eridan murmured, stepping forward and reaching out to grab one of Sollux's hands. "Was it Caliborn? Did he hurt you again?"

Sollux's fingers instinctively twitched at the thought of the young English, a pain returning to the back of his hand. His hand always hurt whenever he thought of Caliborn, but what makes Eridan think that Caliborn had anything to do with this? It was kind of a long shot. It could have been the Crew, or maybe Cronus, or maybe he just got fucking mugged.

"Caliborn? What makes you think that it would be him?" Sollux questioned. Eridan sighed.

"You don't remember, huh? Cronus came to tell you that Caliborn would be waitin' for you when you got to work." Eridan paused, looking almost like he could break down right then and there. "When you didn't come home, I assumed the worst. I thought that he had gotten you and taken you and hurt you and-"

Sollux stepped closer to Eridan, shaking his head. He reached up and slid his fingers under Eridan's chin, tilting Eridan's face up until it was level with his own. Eridan's rambling ceased, accepting silence as his eyes met his boyfriend's.

"I'm fine. My head hurts like hell and my side feels like it's on fire, but I'm fine. I guess I'm lucky that Caliborn is a crappy shot," he tried to joke, though his attempts were met by Eridan shaking his head.

"He's not, though. He's a fuckin' talented shot, and he never shoots just one bullet, which is why I'm confused. If he wanted to shoot you, it would have been to kill you. This wasn't just a statement, either—he's already gotten his statement across, and sloppy seconds just aren't his type. I have no idea what happened, but I intend to find out. Next time Cronus knows where Caliborn is-"

"No, Eridan, that's exactly what the little bastard wants. He wants to pick a fight with you because he knows that you'll retaliate. When you finally do, that'll give him his reason to kill the Ampora family's underboss without having to wait for the hit. Don't go after him, especially since I'm alright," Sollux begged, trying to assure Eridan, though it may have very well been in vain. When Eridan got mad, he got mad.

"I don't care. If he wants to come at me, he can come at me. It wont end pretty for him, but if a fight is what he wants, a fight is what he's gonna' get," Eridan snarled, a darkness in his eyes that made Sollux flinch. At the slight fear on Sollux's features, Eridan relaxed. He sighed, pulling Sollux close and gently wrapping his arms around him.

"I'm sorry. I just hate the thought of you gettin' hurt because of my mistakes. I keep tellin' you that I'll protect you, but I'm failin'. I shoulda' never let you go to work."

"Eridan, if I hadn't gone to work, he would have just waited for me somewhere else. You know it wouldn't stop. It won't stop. I guess we'll just have to deal with this the best we can," Sollux assured, though he knew that he was just spewing bullshit. How do you deal with this? What were they supposed to do?

They stood there in silence for a while, thinking. Sollux thought about his own family and what this growing danger could mean for them, while Eridan thought about God knows what. After a short while, Eridan's arms slipped further around Sollux and he buried his face into Sollux's messy hair.

"Lets go away, Sol."

"What? Go away?"

"Yeah. We don't tell anyone we're leavin' or where we're goin'. I don't even care where; California, Florida, New York-"

Sollux chuckled.

"New York? You really think that's smart?"

"Hey, they'd least expect me there. I could show you around. I'd prefer somewhere else, but New York is an option."

"I wasn't even aware that a vacation was an option. You want to just ditch school and everything else to get away for a while? How long?"

"Fuck yes I do! And I don't care how long. Two weeks, maybe three?"

"I don't know, that's kind of pushing the envelope a bit."

"It wouldn't be if we went during Spring Break. That's a little over a week, then we can just skip school for another week. Classes are only twice a week, and neither of us take classes on Friday or the weekend. C'mon, Sol, we won't be missin' much," Eridan begged, pressing a kiss to Sollux's hair. Sollux sighed.

"I don't know, Eri."

"Please, Sol? Please?"

Sollux sighed again. That really did sound amazing. He would love to just drop everything and take off with Eridan for a while. No school, no mob, no Cronus. At the same time, though, he hated the thought of leaving his family here alone in the midst of everything that was going on. He also hated ditching Karkat again. Also, he didn't know how he'd handle Eridan alone for almost three weeks. He loved him to death, he really did, but three weeks alone with him? He might tear his hair out.

"Maybe. It's a maybe, alright?" he admitted. He then stepped back, wincing as he grabbed at his side again.

"Let me say goodbye to Aradia, and then we can head home, alright? I just really want to lay down," Sollux murmured, exhaustion reaching him once again. Eridan nodded, letting him go.

As soon as Sollux backed away, he found himself missing Eridan's arms around him.
