Chapter 53-The Four Times Garrett Moore Was A Councillor

The Four times that Garrett Moore unwittingly and without wanting to become a councillor to the Reagan Grandkids.

Garrett liked working with Frank. Despite their many (many) differences the man proved to be indomitable in the face of a crises. The family not so much.

Henry and Jamie were only thorns in his side when they wanted to be. Erin was easier to manage focusing more on her career and Danny…Garrett sometimes wondered if Danny was the devils spawn creating migraines wherever he walked.

Then there were the grandchildren.

Garrett had no kids and therefore no grandchildren so he didn't really know what the effect of them was. Until of course he did…

Bloody Reagans,

It started as these things always do with the eldest.

Nikki

Garrett had just started to sip at his mug of clean fresh cup of coffee and his blueberry muffin trying to figure out what to do with this Bogyman thing when a short spikey haired Nikki Reagan-Boyle slammed into the room nearly making him drop his cup.

"Where is he?" she demanded the seventeen year old stalking up and down the length of his office dripping wet "Out" Garrett said shortly watching intently "Problem?" he asked innocently.

"Do I look like the type of person to smoke pot?" she demanded and Garrett paused "Are you?" he asked cringing. If the press got word the Commissioner's granddaughter was smoking drugs he may as well eat Frank's gun.

"No" Nikki scoffed throwing herself dramatically into a chair "But do you know they all think I did because I was at a party where a kid OD.

Garrett paused again considering what to say next. "Did you?"

"I rang the hospital and told them I was Jane Doe" she snapped back and Garrett sighed in relief. "They were probably just worried about you" he offered not sure what to say and Nikki snorted.

"I suppose" she said grudgingly before storming out his office "When he gets back I want to see him" she yelled causing half the intelligence department to look up at her.

This was one of the reasons he never really wanted kids.

Jack

Jack had also been pre-adulthood when he came storming into Frank's office. He was in a meeting leaving Garrett in the office.

"Oh" he said upon seeing him before dumping himself into a chair "I need to speak to my grandpa"

Garrett jerked his head to the door and Jack groaned "My life is unbearable" he demanded and Garrett blinked. "All they care about is grades, I don't want to go to a private, catholic school, and I don't even want to go to college"

Garrett nodded along humouring while wondering what Frank would say when he learnt that his grandson wanted to drop out.

"Tell them" he offered anything to get rid of the kid and Jack paused his eyebrow rising "Good point" he conceded pointing to the door "Get him to ring me yeah?"

And without waiting for a reply he turned and stalked out the door.

Garrett raised an eyebrow. Reasons like this were why he never wanted any kids.

Sean

Garrett liked Sean, with the exception of coming out the boy had been relatively under the radar a thing both he and Gormley agreed was unheard of for Danny Reagan's son.

Until that one fateful day where the boy and his boyfriend were asked a question by a reporter and once again the Reagan's lived up to Garrett's low appreciation of the press again…

"You try being asked something about a case when your hands are otherwise occupied" Sean pointed out when he was left to deal with the mess-Frank had gone to a suspiciously private meeting back at his house (and Garrett knew what that was-the bastard)

Garrett chewed thoughtfully the mouthful of the Meatball sub Sean had brought over (there was a reason he liked this one) "Well not decking them might be a good idea" he muttered casually cursing Danny Reagan for teaching his son such an impressive right hook.

Sean sighed dramatically much like his brother "I cannot be held responsible" before he could mutter that he would, Sean ploughed inevitably on "What am I going to do when my mom finds out" he said rubbing his bruised knuckles together "She's on some cut off from the world Yoga retreat"

"Run" Garrett offered feeling a headache coming on and missing the way Sean's eyes brightened in glee.

That right there put him in Linda Reagan's bad books for life.

Katy

If Garrett had found Danny difficult it was nothing to what he found Katy as.

Katy was a blonde, sarcastic, scantily clad nightmare.

From the second she learned about the power of the press she had been nothing shy of vocalising her opinion.

Such was the case when she was busted for being drunk in a car with less than respectable characters. It had been Garrett who had made her a coffee in his office while Frank and Jamie shouted themselves horse in his office only a floor above.

"Sorry" she sighed whimpering slightly as the door was slammed above them.

"I don't know what the hell I am doing," she confessed and Garrett nodded. It wasn't like he didn't feel sorry for the kid. "Garrett" she continued, "Can I confess something?"

Garrett nodded hoping against hope she wasn't going to confess to another crime.

"Lance Callen wants to see me" she said pulling out a worn letter from under her scantily clad dress.

"Lance…Oh…" he said remembering the nightmare that was the man who had shot four police officers and three detectives including Edit Janko before an NYPD sniper had got to him first.

"Tell Jamie" he said honestly "He loves you, whatever you have to say he will listen to"

Katy nodded whimpering again.

It was only after she had gone that Garrett poured himself a large drink and sighed.

Yeah, Nicole, Jack, Sean and Katy-they were the reason written down on a piece of paper stuck to his mirror so he would never forget where the reason why he didn't have any kids.

And never would.

Who would want kids when he could have those four?

Next Chapter-Danny hears a strange noise from Sean's room at three AM. Armed with a gun he assumes the worst however nothing could prepare him for what's inside-Sean/Alex and horrified Danny-should be comical-fair warning
