A/N: PLEASE READ! After this chapter, it will be all about AJPunk again and leading up to the final chapter and the big twist I have planned. This chapter is six years before where the story is set now to explain what happened between Brie and Punk and to start the AJPunk friendship that started during NXT.
I finished this chapter last night at 1:00 in the morning and decided to update sooner than later! Hope you enjoy!

Am I wrong for thinking out the box from where I stay? "What the hell just happened?" Punk asked, lying awkwardly next to Brie in bed. "I don't know," she said and looked at him. "Did it mean anything to you?" "I don't know," he said. They laid there for a few seconds, a blanket of awkward silence coming over them. God, why did they do this? They both thought. Seconds turned into minutes which turned into hours and soon they both jumped when Brie's phone started ringing at 7:27 in the morning. She swung her legs over the edge of the bed and got up, pulling the sheets with her as she walked over to where her phone was in her purse. "Hello?" She answered. "Brie, I slept with Cody," Nikki said. "Nicole! What the hell! Why didn't you call or something?!" Brie asked angrily. "I was... busy," she said. "Can you open the door, please? I forgot my key card and am outside the door." Brie turned around to face Punk, panic in her eyes as she saw him getting dressed. "Uh huh, yeah, hold on," Brie said, hanging up and quickly putting on sweat pants and a top. Once both were dressed, Brie opened the door. "Finally," Nikki said, walking in the room. "Oh, Punk, what're you doing here?" "He drove me here last night, he wanted to make sure you were okay." Brie said quickly, hoping her twin wouldn't notice she was lying. "Oh, so you guys didn't...?" "No!" They said quickly. "I better go," Punk said and left the room.
Am I wrong for saying that I'll choose another way?
I ain't trying to do what everybody else doing
Just cause everybody doing what they all do
If one thing I know, I'll fall but I'll grow
I'm walking down this road of mine, this road that I call home

So am I wrong for thinking that we could be something for real?
Now am I wrong for trying to reach the things that I can't see?
But that's just how I feel, that's just how I feel
That's just how I feel trying to reach the things that I can't see
Brie and Punk had been avoiding each other for the last week, they both felt it was too awkward for them to talk. They want to act like what happened didn't happen, but it did and neither can just forget it. It was as if they'd developed feelings. If they were ever near each other, they'd instantly leave, which confused many Superstars and Divas. Especially their good friends started noticing how less they were talking. Eventually, they were alone in the same room. They must have known that they would have to see each other at some point they couldn't just avoid each other forever... but they sure wish they could've. "Hey," Brie mumbled, looking at the ground and tapping her fingers on the crate she was sitting on in the empty hall. "Hey," he said, leaning against the wall next to her. "Should we talk about it?" Brie sighed, they probably should. They didn't want to, but... this was supposed to happen for the sake of their friendship. "I guess we should," she said, running a hand through her hair. "Did it... mean anything to you?" Punk sighed, putting his hand to his head and thinking. "I really don't know," he said honestly. "Did it mean anything to you?" "I don't know," she said. There was a moment of awkward silence, the tension filling the room. What do they say now? "Did... did you want to do it again?" Brie asked quietly, almost hesitating. "Brie, I don't know," he said. "That's... That's probably not a good idea." Brie looked down at her lap where her hands were fidgeting. "Yeah, you're right," she said. "Well... friends?" "Friends,"

Am I tripping for having vision?
My prediction; I'mma be on the top of the world
Walk and walk and don't look back ,always do what you decide
Don't let them control your life, that's just how I feel
Fight for yours and don't let go, don't let them compare you, no
Don't worry, you're not alone, that's just how we feel
Well, that "friends" thing didn't last long for them. Through all of November they were able to act normally around each other, with the small jealousy when one was around the opposite sex, but other than that, everything has been okay, until today... "Brie, we're going to be late!" Nikki yelled through the bathroom door. Today happened to be the annual WWE Christmas party they have at corporate every year on the second Saturday of December. "I don't feel good," Brie complained through the door, truthfully she wasn't, she just didn't want to go because all the Divas were dressed like sluts, like usual, and she didn't want to get jealous and stab one of those hoes if they flirted with Punk. "No you're not," Nikki said, pulling out a bobby pin and unlocking the door expertly. "Holy shit," Brie said amazed. "How did you do that?" "You're changing the subject, now we have to go!" Nikki said, grabbing her hand and going over to get their bags and coats. Brie had, regretfully, put on her slinky red elf costume that she was given, Nikki was given a costume that was tight around her chest and stomach, but flowed out into a tutu with red peeking out of the bottom, making it uglier than Brie's, if that was even possible. Every year they play the "elves" as Vince called them. It was always a size too small and too short, but some of the other Divas at these parties looked worse.
So am I wrong for thinking that we could be something for real?
Now am I wrong for trying to reach the things that I can't see?
But that's just how I feel, that's just how I feel
That's just how I feel trying to reach the things that I can't see
"Come on, Brie," Nikki said, trying to drag Brie out of the car. "Nope, not going in," she said, crossing her arms over her chest stubbornly and looking forward. "Problem ladies?" Punk asked, coming towards Nikki. "Yes," Nikki said, thankful Punk showed up. "Thank God you're here, now get her to come inside." Punk watched Nikki walk off into the building then bent down to Brie's level. "Why won't you come inside?" He asked her, her eyes fixated on the building entrance and her arms still crossed stubbornly. "Because I look ridiculous!" Brie said, letting out an angry sigh. "Come on, it can't be that bad." Punk said and she turned her head to look at him. He knew that the twins would be wearing costumes to the Christmas parties now, but they can't be as bad as Brie thinks they are, but then again, Stephanie picked them out. Brie got out of the car and unzipped her coat to reveal the horrifying red and green outfit. It was a tight, strapless, and short dress that was mostly green except the top where it was folded just above her breasts revealing a red color and at the bottom were ridges that were red and green and knee high red and white stripped socks and black Mary Jane style heels. "And to make it even worse..." Brie trailed off, bending down to pull something out of the car, not realizing the dress was short enough for Punk to easily see up it. She pulled out a red and green elf's hat. "I have to wear this," she said, slamming the car door and zipping her coat back up as she tried not to slip on the ice as she walked through the parking lot and Punk followed her. "It's cute," he said, joining her at her side. "You're just saying that because it's short and tight and reveals everything!" Brie said, turning her head towards him. "No, no, it's actually ridiculously cute." Punk said with a laugh, making Brie finally smile. "It's just ridiculous," she said as they were getting closer and closer to the door. Brie not paying much attention, slipped on some ice, only to be caught by Punk. "Thanks," she said as he set her back up straight and he cleared his throat, awkward silence falling between them. "So... I'll see you around...?" "Yeah, yeah," he said, watching her carefully go down the steps to the door. This girl would be the death of him, he thought.
Brie and Nikki were standing around most of the night, talking with the other Superstars and Divas, Brie always keeping an eye on Punk, who was eying a petite brunet that she recognized from FCW. Who was she? Brie asked herself, she remembered seeing her many times before, but what was her name? Alex? No, that didn't sound right. Arianna? No. April! That was it! Or by her ring name AJ. Why was he so interested in her?
So am I wrong for thinking that we could be something for real?
Now am I wrong for trying to reach the things that I can't see?
But that's just how I feel, that's just how I feel
That's just how I feel trying to reach the things that I can't see
A few Superstars asked to take a picture with the twins which they did, but Brie wouldn't pay any attention to what was happening or else she would've said no and walked away, but she didn't want to go too far from Punk. Eventually, she got tired of praying to God that he wouldn't go after April, and just went over to him. "Hey," she said. "Having fun?" "Nope," he said, turning towards her. "You?" "Nope," she said. "This dress is suffocating me, several Superstars have drunkenly groped me, and my boobs are pushed up so far up that even you are staring at them." She snapped her fingers in front of his face and pushed his chin up so he would finally look in her eyes. "Oh please, don't flatter yourself, honey." He said, looking back to the petite brunet. "I've seen more than just them pushed up." Brie punched him hard on the arm. "Oww," He whined, turning back to her. "Baby," she mumbled. "You've been staring at the short one over there." She turned towards the FCW Diva. "Why?" "Um... I've seen her wrestle a few times, she's amazing for her size, I'm considering recommending her for the Diva's season of NXT for next year." Punk said. "Oh," "Why do you ask?" He asked suspiciously, something was up with Brie and he could feel it. "Are you jealous?" "Me? Jealous? No way," she lied, truthfully she was jealous, more jealous than she thought she could be about him. "Sure..." He trailed off, turning back towards the Superstars and Divas talking I'm the middle of the room. "Because I haven't seen you staring at me staring at AJ for the last hour," Brie's mouth fell open slightly, he saw her? Damn it. "Fine, maybe I am a little bit." "Why?" He asked, turning back to her. "We agreed never again," "Maybe I don't want that, maybe... maybe I want it to happen again!" Brie said and Punk knew she was being honest. She stormed off towards the lobby area, he could see her begin to cry, but trying to keep her head held high as she walked as quickly as possible to the empty lobby. Punk followed her, worried about her. "Brie," he said, seeing her crying in the lobby. When she heard his voice, she bolted towards the door where she quickly went to the parking lot, him behind her. "Brie, wait," She spun around to face him, a few tears were on her cheeks, her cheeks were red and burning hot from the tears. "What? You haven't realized that for the past month I've been avoiding you because I was afraid of myself? Afraid of my feelings?" "Afraid of your feelings?" Punk asked. "Since Halloween all I've wanted to do was be with you!" They both stood there in the winter night, both not caring about the cold, both fuming with anger at each other, their breaths heavy. "I hate you," Brie muttered under her breath. "I really hate you," "I wish I hated you," Punk said, stepping closer to her. "I'm not good with the whole 'love' thing." "Me neither," she said, also stepping closer to him. "Maybe... Maybe it shouldn't be love." He said, taking one more step closer to her. "Yeah," she said, also taking a step closer that they were now breathing the same air. Punk leaned down and their lips crashed together in a heated kiss. Once Brie broke the kiss, she turned around, putting her fingers to her lips and smiling as she took her shoes off and put her fingers in the straps on the back and walked towards the snow that covered the green grass. She put her shoes on the ground and picked up a handful of snow, making a snowball and throwing it at Punk. "What was that for?" He asked, laughing slightly. "Hate me yet?" She asked, biting her bottom lip. "No," he said and walked towards her and took her hand in his, she picked up her shoes and followed him to his car, which was parked far away from the other cars. She climbed into the backseat, confusing Punk. "What are you doing?" He asked, turning around to face her as she put her hands behind her back and unzipped the dress and pushing the front down, revealing her bare breasts, then pushing it off, revealing that she was also not wearing any panties. She threw the shoes onto the passenger's seat and took off the knee high socks and threw them on the seat then took off the hat. Without responding to his question, she took his coat off and then unbuttoned his dress shirt and putting it on the seat as well, she then climbed to the front of the car and grinding on his already hardened member. She unhooked his belt and pulled it from the loops and threw it on the floor of the car. She unbuttoned and unzipped his pants, lifting her hips to help take them off along with his boxers. He kissed her hard, their tongues dueling as he pushed her forward slightly and reached across to the glove box and taking out a condom. Brie then broke the kiss. "Really? You keep condoms in your car?" Brie asked and giggled as she took it from him and opened it, sheathing him quickly and putting her hands on his shoulders and lowering herself on him slowly. "Brie," he moaned as she rolled her hips.

If you tell me I'm wrong, wrong After the Christmas party, Punk and Brie made rules for whatever the hell they were doing. These rules were important in this situation. These were the rules: "Why are you so happy?" Nikki asked, putting on makeup in the Diva's locker-room. Ever since the Christmas party, Brie has been happy, smiling all the time, her eyes lighting up everytime she got a text or phone call. "Did you meet anyone on Saturday?" "No," she said. "I am just happy," Nikki and Maryse shared a look and looked to Brie. "Sure," Nikki said, applying lip gloss. Brie rolled her eyes and smiled to herself as she sat on a bench in the locker-room, flipping mindlessly through a magazine. She just couldn't wait to see Punk again, but he was in Florida, helping pick the girls for NXT season 3, which wasn't until late 2010, but they were starting to scout the talent this week and talk to the girls on how they can improve on their technique and mic skills. With Punk... Punk was watching a Divas match between AJ and Naomi, AJ being the smaller one, was somehow dominating in the match, surprising Punk and the other Superstars watching the private match. This wasn't a taping, the girls knew some Superstars were coming to watch them to see what they needed to do to improve to get onto RAW or Smackdown. AJ beat Naomi, surprising many there, even a few of the Divas. Both girls stood in the ring, catching their breaths as they waited for critiques. When it got time for Punk to talk, he mostly complimented AJ. "AJ, great mic skills, great in ring skills for your size. You are really close to being ready for the main roster." Punk said, watching AJ smile. He had more critiques for Naomi than AJ, everyone just thought that because Naomi just got into wrestling, while AJ had been doing it for a couple of years. He would definitely recommend her for NXT season 3.
I don't wanna be right, right
If you tell me I'm wrong, wrong
I don't wanna be right
1. If you meet someone else, end this instantly.
2. Don't tell anyone.
And 3. the most important of them all. Don't fall in love. Unfortunately, both have already broken that rule and they didn't even notice it.
January 11, 2010 Brie and Punk have been doing their friends with benefits deal for about a month, both knowing they should probably stop, but both not wanting to. Punk found Brie hanging around in an empty hall before RAW started and took a deep breath, walking over to her. "Brie," he said, sitting next to her on a crate. "Hey," she said, putting her phone down. "What's up?" "I wanted to talk to you about something." He said, playing with the red velvet box behind his back. "What about?" She asked, slightly confused. Punk took the box from behind his back and handed it to her, confusing her even more, she hesitantly opened it and her eyes widened and one hand went to her mouth as she looked up at him. "Is this...?" "Yes," he said nervously, scratching the back of his neck. "Will you marry me?" Brie's eyes filled with tears as she shut the box and put it down on the crate. "No, Phil, we're not good with the 'love' thing. I can't do it, Phil. We should've ended things a long time ago." She said, watching him storm off as she picked up the box and was going to go after him, but decided against it and took the box, putting it in her bag and walking away.

Today Brie Bella found out that CM Punk would be commentating on NXT, which she was at to be her and Nikki's rookie, Jamie's, pros. Her and Punk haven't talked or really been in the same room together since she broke his heart months ago. Soon after, she began a budding friendship with former rookie, Daniel Bryan, who was Punk's friend. "Have you seen the way Punk and AJ have been talking tonight?" Jamie asked Nikki, standing behind Brie. "Yeah, I heard a rumor they slept together." Nikki said, not realizing she was angering her sister. Brie sighed as she heard their music play. "Come on, Nikki," When AJ came out, Brie felt a twinge of jealousy, remembering how fond Punk was of the petite rookie Diva. All of the rookies had an ear piece in their ear, listening to the commentators as they talked. "I need some natural dynamite in my life." Punk said about AJ, making Brie roll her eyes in annoyance and jealousy. "Everyone is picking on AJ," Punk said. "Yeah, because no one likes her," Brie muttered under her breath. After the show, Punk found AJ backstage talking with Maxine. "Damn, Alicia needs me, I'll see you later." Maxine said, walking down the hall towards the Diva's locker-room. "Hey, AJ," Punk said and she turned around. "Well, well, well, it's the guy who hit on me via commentary." AJ said, crossing her arms under her chest. "I never gave you that hug you wanted earlier." "Finally, you'll give me the hug." Punk said and opened his arms and AJ hugged him. "Congratulations on the three wins tonight." He let go of her. "Thanks," she said. "I heard what you said from Primo and Vickie and LayCool and everyone who listened to commentary." "I have a feeling that no one will ever stop talking about it." Punk said. "Great on the spot mic skills, by the way," "Thanks, I've always been pretty good on the mic." AJ said. "I can tell," he said, leaning against the wall next to her. "Have you heard the rumor going around backstage?" "The one where I slept with you to get on NXT or the one where we're having a secret affair?" AJ asks, leaning against the wall as well. "The first one, what was the second one?" He asked. "Something Nikki or Brie came up with," AJ said, shaking her head slightly. "It seems like people can't accept the fact I have more talent than all of the Divas here." "It seems people are jealous," he said. "Y'know, we could act like we slept together to piss them off." "No, because knowing myself I'd develop feelings and I don't need that." AJ said. "Anyway, see you around?" She began walking backwards towards the Diva's locker-room. "Yeah,"
November 24, 2015
"I did kind of sort of start the rumor." She says. "Sorry,"
"I get it, you were jealous," he says, opening the door and they walk down the hall together when they're stopped by Stephanie.
"Brie, there you are!" Stephanie says. "We mixed your blood work up with Natalya's, you're not pregnant."
Brie's eyes widen in shock and she smiles and looks to Punk and they hug. "Thank God!" She says and lets go. "I have to go fix things with Daniel." She wipes the tears from her eyes as she runs down the hall and turns a corner then stops and comes back. "Get her back, Phil, and don't ever hurt her again."

A/N: The song used was "Am I Wrong" - Nico & Vinz. I happily watched that episode of NXT on September 21st 2010 to do research, fun freaking fact, that episode was when I really got into watching wrestling nearly four years ago. If you've seen it recently then you know The Bella Twins' rookie, Jamie, was not eliminated yet, but the Bella's weren't there, so I changed that. And yes, this is the end of Brie/Punk in this story.
Will Punk get AJ back?
What will happen next?
